V.Being heavily pregnant the pool is great right now. They have the hydrotherapy pool which is away from the main pool and better for my current situation. Along with having a space for injured or older people to swim easily. The main pool is a decent size and they have had inflatables up over the school holidays for the kids. There is a spa and a kids pool as well. Changing rooms are clean.
J.Have been going to Huia Pool for many years and the Hydrotherapy Pool is a bonus for those with a disability or exercise prior to or post surgery.
The Fitness Suite upstairs is well equiped and great for those who like cardio when in 'off season' from sport - like me and competition lawn bowls.
B.In regards to the gym - the facilities are great but the staff seem to be away with the fairies. There is no focus, are their customers using the correct form? Are there men making unnecessary comments to women? The windows keep being opened by customers making the aircon work harder and then it becomes freezing. Half the time the staff are on their phones. And using the toilet after the men…. Gross
They must be so bored. I don’t feel comfortable making a comment because of being singled out so here I am, writing a review.

V.Nice and decent public pool. Plenty of free parking upto 2h. Has family changing room, men and women seperately. The pool is indoor and has good warm water. They also coach who like to learn swimming.

A.A modest pool complex with two main pools for daily use, and a learn to swim pool. The children's pool is fairly simple and has a toddler pool attached. The changing facilities are basic but effective. The staff are excellent and the learn to swim school is well run.
M.Nice clean pool. I like that the kids pool is separate. Plus there is a hydrotherapy pool.
The pool is really quite deep which I wasn't expecting.
The hours on Google are wrong and reception told me lots of people turn up disappointed, but that they can't change them. So the person who replies to reviews may want to adjust the hours.
Also, no loos in the changing rooms is a bit weird
C.I really don't want to tell everybody how nice it is to swim here after the aggro of rude people at Porirua aquatic. Lovely staff and so relaxing to swim in a lane with swimmers who know the rules and give space and respect to other lane users.
K.Really good place for disabled people to exercise (they have a hoist & assist if needed). There is a separate building housing the "normal" pool for regular roughhousing, slides & serious swimming, leaving the infants & Mums, elderly & disabled to enjoy the pool in safety & peace. What a great facility!
P.Love my time here. Learning to snorkel. Wish they had a cafe here. Gets quite busy. Lots of parking. But hard to find a park at times. Only because it's a busy pool. Wish the parking was longer. Have to keep checking and moving the car from park to park if your their for most of the day. I recommend to take the public transport instead of your car. Due to parking. Celebrated a baby shower. That was great. Staff very friendly. Would definitely visit again.

F.an ok swimming pool complex. the kids pools really need an update. the bigger pools are great but small. the warm hydro pools are lovely just don't go during swim class as you are not allowed in that space.
A.It's okay if you live in Lower Hutt and want to stay local, but on the boring side if you have older active kids. The deeper pool is colder too so kids were in and out of the showers to warm up. Odd that there are no toilets in the main dressing/showering area too.
K.A great pool on every level and the gym is fantastic.
N.The reception desk people are friendly. Prices are on website. It has a children's pool which is average, enough to splash and play in. No waves or slides, 1 spa pool and fairly decent family and gender changing rooms. Showers are great. No cafe but does have a gym.

renovation. Staff all obviously well trained and have excellent relationships with each other and the public.

K.Great place. Separate warmer pool for lessons is fantastic, although the heat and humidity leave me feeling quite ill by the end of my boys' lesson. Kids pool is small but fun and the lanes pool is a decent size. Changing facilities could do with some modernisation, but they are functional.

J.We go here for swimming lessons every week with my two young boys and have done for a couple of years. We go to the new learning pool and it is a very nice facility. Can't comment on the original pool as we never go in there. The staff are all really lovely and the teachers are amazing! My boys look forward to their lessons every week.
F.Modern and functional pool, however we often struggle when changing our toddler after swimming due to cold weather inside, while showers are way too hot.
B.Best pools in LH right now really, lifeguards are semi useless at the moment tho temps for th pools are sorta warm than other pools in LH but summer is coming so McKenzie pools would be th place to take ur kids on a hot day 🙌

One of the showered accessible bathrooms was filthy for being there at 9am.
Hair on floor, could be mold or black on edging where lino meets wall, dirty basin and toilet, broken shower tubing (this has now been fixed)
Not first time, I would consider the bathrooms unclean

J.Nice hydrotherapy pool and changing facilities right next to pool. Nice little swimming lanes for kiddos to learn in. I like gym upstairs and view but could do with a bigger stretching area as can get cramped with bodies. Biggest problem I find is there are no toilets in the women’s changing room downstairs so you have to get showered, dressed before wandering out into the foyer and across to the loos next to main pool!!
f.Having a real blast with my 1 year old grandson at baby splash on Thursdays. Helpful ,friendly instructors. Well attended. Get there early. And the water in the hydro pool is fabulous.

E.Excellent toddler pool! Outside toddler pool was closed and the grassy outdoor space in the front should be utilised but our little boy's first swim was a big success. We will be back!
Update to review: new lessons pool is great, but the layout of the place is now so awkward! Would be great to have more family changing spaces with showers in them like the accessible one they do have. A shame they no longer have the outside area though.
M.It's a nice pool located centrally in the city.
Though not as big as that of Naenae Olympics pool, yet a gentle size it is,
A drawback for novice swimmers is that in adults pool, there is no partitioning blockage between 5 feet to 10 feet depth area, as it was there in naenae. So an excited novice swimmer may swim into deeper water and get into trouble.
c.Nice pool with clean showers and a welcomed jacuzzi after the effort.
Some lockers are provided but bring your own lock (it felt safe to bring my stuff in the hall of the main pool thow).
E.Great place! Lots of space, never overcrowded, nice staff. I most enjoy going with my little boy to the toddler's area, which has few different depths, slide, shallow area fenced off which is great for the really little once and some nice pictures of water creatures hanging from the ceiling. $1.5 between 2 - 3pm!
T.Too hot in the new lessons pool. Kids say it's too hot in the pool and way too hot for the adults waiting next to the pool. Everything else is great. Good instructors. Not quite enough parking at peak times

Just missing sauna and steam room (maybe they have them in the new area where the gym is but the main swimming area doesnt have one) but has everything you need. Spa pool.. Kids pool and large size pool for aqua jogging.. Swimming laps.. Bombs.. And inflatables.
K.Good place for the kids, not much to get excited about but has 3 areas of play in one big area. Small area for 0-2 year olds, shallow area for 3-5 year olds and then a deeper area for older children. The flying fox was open when we were there for the older children. Kids enjoyed themselves.
S.This is a great pool for all ages, sizes and stages. Main pool, kids pool, hydrotherapy pool and really friendly Life guards. $5.50 per adult, not too bad.
C.Great aquarobics, friendly staff, accessible shower rooms with hot water on 5 min timer. Parking is a big challenge though.
J.My clients go to this pool. Amazing service and assistance from the staff. Loads of splashing, laughter and fun. Best place to relax. There is the fitness center upstairs and it's good too.

P.Great facility for swimmers of all ages and abilities. The new learn to swim facility is great and doubles for rehab sessions. Wish there was more parking though and a cafe.

D.A very good fitness centre in Lower Hutt Central, just across the civic gardens and not far from Queensgate Mall. Facilities are clean, with the fitness centre being the newest addition. Good for groups, families and even on your own.

J.Love the hydrotherapy pool that it's not over crowded. The showers next to it are nice and hot and the changing rooms are really nice.
M.Lots of fun for all but parking is terrible there's hardly any parks and the disabled parks are not supervised well and people who don't have a mobility card park there and as a result people who need them can't.
J.Huia pool and fitness is everything that it says on the side of the tin. The instructors are friendly and the facilities clean and rather unsurprisingly smelling of chlorine.
