Nice buggers and their Tuesday deal 2-4-1 is bang on for buck. I loved their King Saddleback burger (pulled pork), Big Bro (must try) and Queen go Peep (braised lamb) they all taste good, so is the Luxe Bird (southern fried chicken patty). I liked the buns in fact they're soft, fluffy and goes well with any patty. Also, the burgers are good in size that one would expect with a good pack size burger patty for that price with salad and sauce filling. Overall a good & friendly service with nice tasty burgers 😋👍.

Ordered 2 burgers and chips on Uber eats. Luxe bird was absolutely delicious. Nicely packed and tasted really good. On the other hand I had a babe burger which had a blob of aioli in the centre of the pineapple and my chicken pattie was over done. It was dry and hard and just did not taste nice. And there was only a small strip of bacon! The burger was nice without the burnt pattie.

We Used uber to order our dinner to home lastnight. We ordered 2x velvet lady. I wasn’t expecting such large burgers & Was far too large to finish and wasn’t too bad in taste. Loved the sweet relish. Would recommend.

I came in store with a group of my friends for a BYO and I must say the burgers were beautiful, the patties were amazing. The chips were the best we've ever had anywhere. The service was fast considering there was a massive group of us. However, one female staff member kept going on her phone and going on snapchat etc while we were waiting to be served and we ended up waiting ages. Thanks guys, food was amazing.

I ordered the fat fries with the garlic aioli. I'm not here to talk about the fries. Today's review is centred around the wonderous thing that is the garlic aioli. Pros: With a creamy emulsion that provides stiffness, and good scoopability on your chip, a good balancing of acid and a wonderful aroma on the nose this aioli is out of the park. All of this provides the perfect sensations when paired with your favourite chip - but, overall, the kingpin that truly ascends this aioli above the rest... a good dose of raw garlic. Wow. Cons: $1.50 for a sauce alone, looks like I'll have to mortgage the boat to keep my habit up :(

Always love velvet burger! And the tasty favourite of mine the BABE!!!! Yesterday we ordered online the two for 1 deal since you have to order online and put in the promo code to receive the deal! Very excited! We ordered chips at the counter aswell and waited. After half n hour of not getting our food, they finally let us know that the gas turned off and they trying to fix it and get it back on so they can continue cooking. We were really hungry at this point and after about 15-20 minutes later! We finally got our burgers and then our fries 5-10 mind after. And they also gave us a refund for our fries for waiting! They handled the situation very well!

The chicken patty was very juicy and tasty, but the beef patty felt overcooked and almost store bought. Staff were friendly and accommodating, and the place was very busy, so I assume my experience was not shared by others. What I really liked was the level of customisation available (add/remove items, choose from thin chips, thick chips, or wedges for example), and the aioli sauce was absolutely delicious - both on the burger and as a side. I'd definitely give them another try if I'm in the area again.

Went to Velvet Burger for lunch today, got the Cheesy Bro cheese burger and skinny fries. Fries were amazing, well cooked and seasoned. The Burger was good, made pretty quick, flavors were good, only thing I would mention is the lettuce was a little feral around the edges. Will 100% return.

Nice burgers and love the Tuesdays deal, but what really lets the place down is the buns. They are just full of air and fall apart with easy. I would recommend using brioche buns and toasting them, as they do in the top burger joints in the states.

As I have said before, Velvet were my favourite burgers to have during my time in New Zealand. The fact that you can choose size for the burger and 2 for 1 Tuesday's were a weekly delight. One of the rituals I miss the most about not living in NZ anymore. (As I lived in Dunedin this was not my usual destination, but I remember the staff being very gentle).

Definitely worth it on two for one Tuesdays. A good burger is all about the patty and then things going with it to compliment it. I did not enjoy the patty due to the texture and not so much the taste, it comes down to personal preference and I prefer a crumbly 100% pure beef patty and was not a fan of the processed texture patty.

Great burgers, with a good range to choose from! If you're really hungry then there's a burger that will fill you up, unlike other burger places. Tasty, fresh and presented well. The fries are good too, and portion size is great. Costs more than Burger King, etc. But you get what you pay for; far better quality burgers. Edit: Been here a few more times, and have to say they are the best burgers I have had in my life!

I really love Velvet Burger. It's the best restaurant where you can eat burger in Christchurch. The Burgers are delicious and they have a unique flavor. The restaurant has a good atmosphere. It's a perfect place where you can talk with your friends while you are eating. Definitely what I don't like about the service is that you need to order at the counter. About price, approximately It's about $15 or more.

I just love velvet vegie burger (w/o beetroot). I am giving 4 stars only out of 5 since i really find it gross that they don't cover their water jars. Please cover them. I don't want to write my concern here but even after talking to the staff about it , nothing happened so i think they might read this comment here and do something about it.

It was just okay. Burger was alright, the meat was more like Luke warm than hot, and the burger bun was a bit unusual. (don't remember what exactly, it was over a month ago when I visited) Staff didn't seem very attentive considering that our table was wet and the one next to us had dirty dishes on it for at least 10 or 15 minutes despite staff walking past multiple times. Better off going to Burger Fuel or Bacon Brothers in my opinion.

Not a huge menu, but what they do, they do well. Having a choice of chips was nice. If you prefer thins or fatties, then they've got you covered. Service was prompt and friendly. We stopped in with the family for a quick bite after an event and the kids enjoyed it. Not many but places get the patty AND the bun right, but velvet burger did a great job. One of the best burgers joints in Christchurch.

Went here not knowing what to expect and we ended up enjoying it. We ordered a luxe bird, valvet lady, popcorn chicken and two bowls of skinny fries. The luxe bird was good and the valvet lady was also good but nothing unique. Popcorn chicken was a bit dry and lacked flavour but still wasn't a bid item. The fries were really good with great flavour and really good portion size, would definitely order those again. Overall cool place, cool staff and a good meal.

The best burger I've eaten in NZ Prices for burgers are between 7 and 16 dollars just for the burgers We both were very satisfied with the size of the burgers. Beef was excellent, so was the rest of the burgers, besides the bun not beeing toasted . Unfortunately the kumara fries couldn't keep up the high expectations the burger confirmed. They were small, burned crumbles. Nevertheless an unforgettable burger experience which I highly recommend. Definitely not our last visit Service was very friendly

It is expected to be very busy with long lines especially on Tuesdays with the 2 for 1 offer on that day. Parking could be limited but there is always the parking by Westfield

The burger was great. I had the hottie and boyfriend had the coneburger. Aioli sauce is so good. Most of all, every single staff was superb! They were friendly, seemed happy, and had great teamwork. Definitely two thumbs up!

The size of the patties is ok. They call "salad" a leaf of lettuce which is misleading. Sandwiches without bacon taste bland and they are in the stingy side with the sauces. The bread stays together while you eat, the little cardboard trays help. The place looks cozy but the service all-round is a bit sluggish. Food arrives when you're starting to wonder if they haven't found you for delivery. The tables are not cleared promptly and the quick wiping only takes away some crumbs. Beware of the glasses, they are all oily inside and out (I tried 4, I decided to wipe them with serviettes) and the water comes straight from the tap and sitting on a trolley takes room temperatue. The stuff are friendly.

Fillings are on the smaller size and the buns used are far too stodgy. When velvet burger opened they had a great amount of fillings but it appears they are trying to now cut costs by being stingy. Would recommend you drive a little further to Bush Inn and check out burger fuel.
