I'm not sure if they use sunflower or vegetable oil but it's definitely do not use animal old fat oil. Best fish and ships in town! Also the new lady doesn't seperate the fish and chips so the chips become soggy when I open it back home.

My Husband and I purchased a fish meal each and a few lil extras (eggs, sausage for him n prawn twister for me n buttered sliced bread) and all was hot and delicious!! We could help ourselves to tomato sauce and tartare sauce n salt n pepper 😍 Great meal and will visit again!!

First time in buying fish and chips in Hamilton for years. We all enjoyed our burgers. They were well presented, priced and packaged. Kumara chips, crab sticks and potato fritters were also yummy. Very clean and tidy shop. Will definitely be going back.

Great fish. I went for the snapper for $6.80 which the staff said was just in, and wasn't disappointed. The lemon works so well with it. Yum! I had a small chips, $2, but you could get larger portions if you wanted. The chips could be a little crispier. They provide salt on the table, and I did need to add some to my chips. Clean premises, friendly staff. Would go again.

On Wednesday a group of us met at the Chippery for a casual get together. Staff were friendly and obliging, they made an effort to accommodate our group by moving tables, which we appreciated. Food was delicious and well presented and at a reasonable price. Well done. Love this place and will certainly be back. Gloria

The fish here is really good, both battered and crumbed. Chicken burgers are also really good! Kim is always welcoming and smiling. The seating area is always clean and tidy if you are inclined to dine in.

Fresh fish, yummy chips and clean place. The staff are very nice. But they didn't have the shake that I want.

Food was ok. Chips were precooked, not cooked from scratch (they may buy them like this, in Australia chips are always cooked from fresh). Snapper fish was nice, flaked ok. Batter could be a little more crunchy. Didn't see any option for other styles of coming apart from battered. No crumbed option offered, no grilled option. Hamburger was nice, meat a little thin but the bacon portion was generous. Not this places fault but hamburgers in NZ are not as generous as in Australia (adding this for international travelers). The place was clean, better than most fast food places I have seen in NZ. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Three or four tables with 4 to 6 seats each means there is plenty of seating. All did was served in a box in paper bags. They don't rip the paper bag slightly to let steam escape, so you may want to do this to stop the steam from the chips make them go soggy. I would shop there again

Just stop here. You can tell what a relaxing spacious fish n chips shop can be. With the friendly atmosphere that not even the locals like and enjoy. The fish, chips and others - all you can tell. Just try them. You would know that it's a good stay in Hamilton main Grey Street. With the whole plate finished, my friends love it!

This is one amazing place for fish and chips, you have just got to try this place. Highly recommended. If i had to score this place out of a 100, it would get a 110.... The batter on the fish is just perfect. Puts Harry Ramsdens back in the UK to shame and the say they are the best...

Great cheap meals. Snapper was fresh and tasty only gripe was getting the hurry up to leave as they were closing but sold us our meals and let us eat in there but with five minutes till closing i didnt expect to get the hurry up and leave speech lol. Other than that a great place to eat will just get there earlier next time we were only there late after traveling a long way to get to Hamilton.
