M.I love the snapper burgers from here. They taste great and you can usually take half the fish out to munch on as a starter and still have plenty for the burger. ;)
S.Huge portions. The hamburger tastes quite a bit different than an American burger, but good. I accidentally ordered what must have been the "everything" burger because it was like 3 meals stacked between the buns 😄.

B.Gotta be the best fish and chips shop in matamata, they have many awards and always are busy when we stop by. They claim to cook their food the healthy way, I'm not sure how that is however the food tastes good and doesn't leave you with an oily or fatty feeling after eating. Well worth a try if you're passing through matamata.

S.If we are near Matamata, at any time, we end up googling the opening times and everytime we have been lucky, had great service every time and great final product. Always hits the spot.
M.I was down from Auckland and saw this little Takeaways and thought I'd give it a go... And I was blown away. The pricing is great, the fish is fresh and falls apart, the batter is amazing, the chips are out of this world! The portion sizes are huge! The meal was so great that on the way back to Auckland that was the only thing we talked about! It truely makes me happy their as still places like this in NZ that don't overcharge for their food, it's high quality and they take pride in what they do. 5/5 recommended to anyone!
M.Why did I never have this before? Fish was so fresh and not greasy, massive burger wow you are my favorite for sure. Lady serving was super nice and let me take my time to order. We live 25 mins away and when we arrive home all food was still perfect. Thank you

Called in 2 weeks ago to try DK's famous fish and chips. Ordered x3 pieces of snapper and x2 scoops of chips.
The fish was tastefully packaged separate from the chips in a recyclable cardboard thermal container. I should have taken a picture as it looked as delicious as it tasted.
We were given x2 extra pieces of fish and heaps of chips that were cooked to perfection.
Highly recommend and very pleasant staff

D.Well...DKs has become my go to place to get a great burger in Matamata. Two of us tramped over the Kaimais and into Matamata just to get one. Thats 26km / burger. Not a bad range.
We had the DK burger of course. Its enormous but really nice. Like awesome nice. I got some chips too but just couldn't get through them the burger was so big.
I like how they present the burger in its own box too. Keeps things clean.
You know, if they threw in a paper napkin...you'd have to give them 11 out if 10...but best you have something to clean your hands with cause its a real meal.

Lots of good traditional burgers and there is a burger on the board with a guys name on it.

D.Omg this place has by far the best burgers in the wider waikato. They were hot, stayed together and didn't fall apart like most burgers do. The price was awesome, pay for what you get AWESOMENESS!!!! Customer service was great, nice and friendly. Would definitely make a trip back just to eat there again

Q.Was there once, probably never going there again (not because I don’t like it, but because I’m probably not going to Auckland again, I’m just a tourist) The burgers were decent, or, honestly, better than decent. Also the dude at the bar was really good.
L.Really really good vegetarian burgers. Large, tasty with looked like 2 homemade patties. Crisp chips and the kids said best milkshakes ever. Plus people were charming. Highly recommended.

B.Whenever you’re choosing a food outlet, always go for the busiest one - I applied that thought when choosing DK for a 5-person dinner order. No wonder they’re busy, this place does great food & even packages it for the longer journey that many customers will be taking in rural Waikato.
Fish, fries, burgers - all of these were well & truly above expectation. I’ll definitely be returning!

S.Used google to find a fish and chip shop on the way passing through Matamata tonight. Food was fabulous, staff uber friendly and the robust packaging meant we could eat in the car and keep going on our travels. Will definitely be stopping here again - best fish burger I have had in a long time!!
