Fast efficient service, clean and well maintained premises, happy and friendly staff. Nice surroundings and good outdoor views

The burgers at burgerfuel are always top tier and Taupo is no exception. However it's the view on the second floor looking out into the scenic lake that will make you pop down and get a shake for a couple more minutes of the view. Moderately expensive and the staff were completely knowledgeable about all the ingredients and substitutions available and extremely attentive. Noticing I was the only one in my party not partaking in the shakes they informed me that they are able to make them completely dairy free! A joy to my ears and a hit to my wallet I had the most amazing chocolate thick shake, must try it.

Great tasting burger with wonderful lake view! I think the burgers in this place is one of the best in town, not pricy, great taste and really nice view from the table! I tried the beef, chicken, and fish burger. I highly recommend the beef and fish, they are very tasty and juice! It’s also very under budget, comparing to all restaurants next doors with lake view, four burger (one combo) for just NZ$60)

We were arriving quite late in Taupo and just ended up coming here to pick up some burgers for dinner. We ordered in store and then headed out to Pac and Save to grab a few items. The food was ready when we arrived. I had the new Ribiron burger meal and that was quite nice. Service was friendly and the food here was also nice. The biggest issue was the parking though, we were lucky we were just picking up otherwise that would have been a bit more problematic.

Burger Fuel is probably the best restaurant chain in New Zealand. Their burgers are one of the best I've ever eaten, and it's on par with the price of McDonald's! The beef is very fresh. I love how they add beet root into their burgers - it actually blends well. For Muslims, they even have a halal option. Definitely a must try for everyone who comes to New Zealand!

I would first like to say that the food was excellent and I would thoroughly recommend this place to all from the meat eaters through to vegans. There is something for everyone. It was extremely busy and queues were building up behind us. Unfortunately we had to change part of our order because one of the burgers was vegetarian and not vegan. However there was no mechanism on the tills to do this therefore we had to place the entire order again. This was quite frustrating for the people in the queue. Luckily the next person said they were British and loved queueing. There was a delay of about 20 minutes because it was so busy, which gladly had been pointed out to us and we accepted that. Our food arrived but some things were not complete. Apparently we had only been charged for the food we ate so we would have to queue again for the extras we wanted and had ordered in the first place. This we duly did but they forgot to bring them out to us so eventually we had to go into the place to get them. The items were sitting on the counter and had been for a while. This was a shame as I would like to have given the establishment maximum stars. The food was delicious but I suggest that you don't go when it is too busy...

Highly recommend! The restaurant was pretty busy but we were served in about 15 minutes. Quality ingredients, delicious creative options on the menu. Amazing aioli sauce! The only disappointment was the milkshake, tasted really artificial.

Bought burgers with friends. Ordered for dine in and got a table number. Waited and then received burgers in a takeaway bag. Unsurprising the burger is amazingly soggy. The attitude of the staff was not appropriate given the mistake. Not apologies were made. Have been here previously and disappointed with the changes.

As soon as you bite into one of these beautiful burgers, you're hit with an explosion of flavor! The Burgers are really delicious and with chips just compliments it. The Iced Chocolate was huge and amazing. The staff where very friendly and chilled out. The place was quite clean and really fancy. Would highly recommend it here! Coming back again for sure!

A place to enjoy really American style burger. A place what I call home Taupo and a exceptional views from burger fuel is like a cherry on the top. Burgers, service and staff one word AWESOME. Keep it up. Place being fast paced you should not judge on a day they can be a bit slow but mostly they are on it. Preparations comes on the plate as they should be, cleanliness is top notch, but again few days can be exceptional.

Arrived in the afternoon after along trip from Whangarei with my family. I ordered the burnout burger right after the guy infront of me. We both waited about 15minutes right by the counter watching them make the burgers, before he got his order. I waited another 10minutes before I noticed 2 other people receiving their orders before me and they ordered well after me. I took my order number/table number up and asked if my burger was ready. I was asked what burger I ordered to be told they didn't get a ticket number but it'll be a couple more minutes. I waited 30minutes for my one burger! My family was waiting for me in the car and had finished there food. Very dissapointed in the service, I would have said nevermind and walked out with nothing I was that annoyed but I didn't want my family waiting any longer for me to order elsewhere. I was given my burger and a simple sorry. Edit - I contacted burger fuel and they gave me a offer code for a free burger for the Hassel. Thank you Burger Fuel Taupo, very much appreciated! I will give it another go when I'm down and hoping it was a one off.

As per usual, I asked for a thicker shake, and they did it, and it was beautiful and super thick. I have to commend Burger Fuel for not charging extra and making them thicker. Every Burger Fuel I go to, they do it. Even their ‘standard thickness’ shakes are very good too. Burger Fuel is not the cheapest burger chain but compared to other gourmet burger stores they’re decently priced. But the point is, it’s WORTH the money. It’s consistently and reliably good.The flavor is great, the quality of the burgers, the sides, the shakes – everything tastes incredible. And for that reason, take my money. If you want something reliable, with good customer experience, good quality burgers and snacks, you know you can rely on Burger Fuel.

It's probably a bit biased due to the location but this was a pretty special Burger Fuel. The views are stunning, the food was as you'd expect it (albeit a tad on the pricey side) and the team were super chill and easy-going but professional. There's probably not a better-placed Burger Fuel in the country - Lake Taupo is pretty gorgeous.

This place is BUSY! The burgers great it appears they like to put aioli on everything which isn’t my cup of tea. This place has a vintage new age feel and is child friendly. The bacon used in the burgers is very different from what’s used in America it’s like the used a variation of maybe a thicker slice of Canadian bacon. Overall, cool vibe very busy and kind of cramped below in the waiting area. It appears there’s an upstairs as well was not able to get up there because it was pretty crowded. Burgers are a little pricey and the fries are amazing 😋

Great customisable gourmet burgers and kumara fries. Love the aioli, it's delicious. The poutine wasn't the greatest. I love the little burger holders they give you, very clever. Their output time is reasonable but not exceptional. This burger fuel is in a very nice location right by the lake in the center of town. It also has an upstairs seating area so it can hold quite a few people and it has seating outside too which is wonderful in the warmer months.

It's quite difficult getting excited over burgers. But I did here. It's positioned nicely on the bend overlooking the lake. And the burgers are huge. American huge! In fact the last time I couldn't finish a burger was in Fisherman's Wharf San Francisco. So for a weary traveler or a voracious teenager. This is a very good place to stop.

The burgers are good, but my issue with this place (this has happened 3 times) is that if you do a phone or web order, even if you choose a pick up time quite a bit later, if you turn up at the right time you still end up waiting half an hour. Why bother with phone and web orders then?

Coming from Melbourne Australia, l thought we had the crown for burgers, but Burgerfuel reigns supreme. Best burgers l have ever tasted. The meat is juicy and the shredded betroot adds an extra level of flavour. My only gripe is that l can't get it in Australia😪

I thought I would just let you know that on Sunday afternoon around 4pm, a group of 12 of us dined with you guys. We all agreed it was the best Burger Fuel feed we’ve ever had! We had just completed the Tongiriro Crossing and headed back into Taupo for a feed. The service was EXCELLENT. The two front of house girls were absolutely awesome, really polite, smiling, happy and onto it. As for the chef (dude out the back) he knows how to make an awesome burger!
