E.So we got a standard burger, 2 wings at level 2 (Birds Eye) and 1 wing at level 3 (Ghost) and some fries.
The burger was exactly how I envisioned, nothing spectacular but tasty. Level 2 wings were nice in spice level but very grainy with the spice. Level 3 wings a tad too spicy for me but had a better flavour. I would ask for level 3 again but ask them to put less on it. The fries were perhaps the best thing, consistent, crispy and great flavouring.
Another reviewer said that Peach's in Auckland was better. As an Aucklander, I am going to disagree. Peaches has a bigger menu and gives a lot of variety. I think the different flavours of chicken better from Soul Shack. I also like how it is more versatile since you can order individual wings.
They have no thigh pieces when I was at Soul Shack so that was the only disappointing thing. Soul Shack also needs to have a wash basin for people.
A.Pretty good. Peaches in Auckland is better if we're ranking Nashville chicken places, but I'd go here again

T.Great spicy fried chicken! I got wings at level 2 heat and realised I need to work on my spice game. Great to see actual spice with great flavours. If you're looking for somewhere to test your spice levels, this place is highly recommended. When it's really busy I can see issues with a lack of outside tables, but if you can takeaway then you'll be fine. I'm keen to try more from their menu, the chips looked promising. Also worth noting they're quite popular and tend to run out of stock so worth popping in earlier rather than later. Definitely worth a visit 🙂

J.Best fried chicken I've ever tried in my life. Service is amazing, tends to get busy specially during weekends. Last time they confused the sprinklers and put lvl2l1 instead of lvl0, it was a lot 🤣
But they changed everything kindly, so that's why I'm still giving 4 stars. The sauce on the fries is to die for. Go try it!

You simply must try this pace, its an incredible trip to the southern states. I don’t know what they put in their coating, but its so crispy and spicy ( I had level 2 heat) that you sit there and savour every mouth full.

It's similar to southern style fried chicken, but the spices are uniquely amazing in Soul Shack.
You also got 5 levels of heat:
Super mild Zero
Nice spicy cayenne based level 1,
properly hot level 2,
Ghost pepper very hot level 3
and Reaper pepper level 4, which could be a death wish in the best way possible.
All items on the menu are sublime, Super friendly service, and generally a must have in Wellington.
B.Best fried chicken in Wellington. Staff are always casual but in a good welcoming way! Been here several times, would recommend the sando. One time they marked the wrong box with the wrong spice level (level 0 and level 2) - hilarious! My non-spice tolerance partner still enjoyed the level 2 chicken even though it was a surprise.
A.I disagree to people saying that this place is where I'd find the best fried chicken burger in Wellington... I'd say it's home to the best fried chicken burger in the whole country! Moist, flavorful and that spice is a game changer. Will be taking fellow fried chicken enthusiasts to this place at every opportunity

H.Enjoyed my first experience recently at Soul Shack. Very yummy crispy fried chicken. I had the Sando level 2 spiced burger. Delicious! And very nice to be able to sit in the querky Birdcage pub next door to enjoy a beer with my burger. The beer helped calm down the hot spice.

You can order and grab a beer at Birdcage next door who are more than happy to bring it to you and provide cutlery. A must visit for anyone who likes fried chicken and/or spice.
A.Incredibly delicious and - optionally - incredibly hot Nashville-style fried chicken. I personally always opt for the level 2 double sando (a burger made with two pieces of fried chicken, hot) but there are also wings, fries to die for, and delicious pickles served with most everything. If you want, you can dial the heat up to 4, but do so with caution - I like the hot stuff and 3 nearly killed me. Phenomenally tasty food and one of the best of Wellington's fantastic eateries.

A.I've been to Soul Shack a few times and have always loved it - the staff has always been super friendly and nice, and the food is AMAZING. Had to put down a review this time because the staff was so amazingly kind!
Basically, I'd had people buy a burger for me but I ended up coming about an hour or so later. Someone else went to buy fries and I asked if they could heat up the burger for me. Instead they gave me a fresh burger and wouldn't even let me pay for it! They told me that the burger was best fresh and they wanted me to have it like that. It's definitely not something I expected, but I just have to say thank you SO much. I was always gonna keep coming back to Soul Shack but its definitely going to be at the top of my local businesses to support in Welly! They're all really passionate about their food and making sure people experience it in the best way and I love it!

A.Good value. Everything is deep fried and sauced up...which I like. It can be ordered on a Hot Scale, no more than a TWO and I like hot food.

P.Best f****** fried chicken burger in Wellington and possibly NZ! It's pretty spicy, so if you can't handle it, ask for a level 1. I'm not kidding, it's not like all other places where medium is just a little spicy. There is a little wait because they always prepare it from scratch every time.

- paid $4 to add fries to the burger but the amount of fries was far less than expected
- received a text that my food was ready to pick up 20mins before the time I indicated on the app
S.The definitive place to go to for your fried chicken related needs. The hot chicken is spiced at logarithmic levels so be wary of flying too high, Icarus. The waffles are also amazing especially with some ice cream on top. Or fried chicken. The hours are real tricky to navigate if you don't live or work near Porirua, but they're open late (5pm-8pm) on Thursdays.

A.I really like the burgers from this humble alleyway eatery. Awesome crispy chicken and super soft bun. Spice level 3 recommended, or level 2 if you're not a spice fan. Definitely a five-star if the waits weren't so long. Be prepared for a 15-20 minute lead time on a busy lunchtime.

Sie wird in 5 verschiedenen Schärfegraden zur Wahl gestellt. 0 wäre überhaupt nicht scharf und 4 extrem scharf. Ich esse gerne scharf und für mich war die Stufe 2 völlig in Ordnung. Stufe der 3 ist wie indisch zubereiteter Lamm Vindaloo; nicht abgemildert scharf für Europäer.
Die Lage ist zentral, auf einem Parkplatz. Absolut empfehlenswert.
