I used to visit their yard in Eden Tce before it got acquired for the revamped Mt Eden train station. I gotta say, their Mt Roskill site is much easier to navigate your way around.
I've always found their staff to be friendly and helpful... even to an amateur woodworker such as myself.
I've built a number of pieces of outdoor furniture using Vitex from SPT... best decision I ever made. To illustrate my point, I built an outside bench for my deck using Vitex. A while later, I "clipped it" with the water blaster which wore away a bit of the stain... or put another way, this stuff is so hard that the stain didn't soak into it. I also broke a stainless steel screw during construction.
Now, I'm in the middle of building a couple of outside planters... and yep, Vitex is the only way to go.
L.Very helpful, very friendly. Most woods are in floorboards and we were after dressed, but they were still able to meet or needs. And the wood was beautifully dressed!
