My 7 month old kitten suddenly stopped eating and we don't know what was wrong. The team here looked after him so well. They kept us informed and as Crystal clear on what the cost was going to be as well as providing information in some payment options. They gave us clear recommendations and steps to take to look after our kitten. He has returned home and is doing so much better and we are just so thankful for the team here. They truly care and want the best for their patients. Attached pictures of the baby boy

I feel so lucky we had this amazing vet clinic available when our dog Pippa was sick! The vets went above and beyond in seeing her quickly, diagnosing and treating her, it could have been a very different story if we didn't have ARC, so thankyou so much! The lovely vet tech's were also so reassuring and positive with their updates, we could not have asked for better care for our pup :)

My cat was blocked during the Easter long weekend, we rushed to emergency to get him unblocked. My sincere appreciation goes to Dr. Mark Johnson and the nurse Jen Kueh and some of other staff members, thank you all for saving this little life! Was quite a bit of money there but worth it to see this big boy getting recovered accordingly. Advise to those pet owners who doesn't have pet insurance yet: GET IT as soon as possible!!!!

I am extremely grateful for coming across ARC. My cat Chloe is my whole word and got very sick at the beginning of lockdown. We went to 2 different vets on the Hibiscus Coast who did their best but could not accurately diagnose Chloe. We were told Chloe had 'days left to live' which completely devastated me. We made the decision to come to ARC to give Chloe the best - what we thought - last days she could have. Yes, they are expensive but they are the best of the best! Literally! I refer to them as the 'Gucci' of Vets ;) Fast forward to now, Chloe is 99% better and doing amazing! The team at ARC diagnosed her correctly through their thorough process and had so much care in dealing with Chloe and myself. When Chloe was an inpatient for a number of days the team at ARC would send me photos, videos and call + text me everyday. I cannot thank them enough! Special shout out to Chloe's #1 vet Laura.

As a new puppy owner I was already distraught when I arrived but they saw my pup quickly and kept me in the loop the whole time. Puppy made a full recovery and is back to herself. So grateful ARC were open and there to support me and my puppy. Katy was amazing at helping my calm my nerves and talking me through the options. Big heartfelt thanks to Karl and his team for clovers surgery which went really well today! He is probably the most experienced specialist vet surgeon in NZ for spinal/vertebrae surgeries. My cat Wally was recently diagnosed with an aggressive cancer which had spread to his lungs from a lump found on a hind limb during a clinical exam. Dr Jack looked after us both; he was professional, kind and above all offered me support as an owner (I also work in the industry). This helped make what could have been a traumatic decision/experience one where I was at peace saying goodbye to my much loved boy. Dr Jack - I will forever be grateful to you for this. Thank you to the ARC team for the beautiful card and flowers.

Animal referral centre was one of those vet clinics in Auckland which was working on public holiday. Our gorgeous cat Maximus needed an assistance - his fur was covered with blood after excessive grooming caused by ulcer in his mouth. He spent a few days in ARC where nurses and vet doctors gave him treatment, did tests and surgery. Staff there are super lovely people, professionals who do care about pets. Today Max visited Dr.Cattin again for check up. Feels excellent! And we are so happy we entrusted him to this clinic. I would also recommend to have insurance for your pets. The bill we received was massive, we wouldn't afford such treatment without having our cats insured with PD Insurance. It cost us $55 per month for both cats with annual limit $9K

Would just like to add that the staff (Angeline) early hours of Sun 29th were just so wonderful and caring, our little dog Bree had to head to the rainbow bridge, even with Covid they allowed us to hold her while she went off to sleep it made a very traumatic experience that much easier for us all. Our little boy Marley became incredibly ill, hes the most adventurous and greedy dog so when he stopped eating didn’t want to move we were very worried. We took him down to our local vet and the overnight vet, we did everything we could possibly do. We were then told his leg could need to be amputated as he had a very bad case of cystitis. We were referred to arc as our last option to save his leg. Our Marley will be coming home today with all his legs only because arc gave him the best care he could possibly have, we got Daily updates of his progress and photos, if we called 3 times a day they were always happy to talk. We were even told his nurse started work early to hang out with him 🥺, they always made us feel at peace and less stressed over Christmas. We are forever grateful for this place, thank you for saying our boy ❤️

Brilliant! My puppy had surgery on his shoulder and I couldn't be happier with the team at ARC. Our vet was so lovely and explained everything, the team kept in contact and I knew my boy was being looked after.

We had a very sick little dog…we took him to the ARC and they did everything they could to diagnose what was wrong with him and put him on a course of treatment to make him better…while we still don’t know what the underlying problem was our little dog is recovering fast, a miracle given he was at deaths door for a few days…it’s likely the infection is a mycobacterium, but one that is difficult to contract and even harder to culture and identify…the team at ARC pulled out all stops to determine the actual infection through intense research and testing, both in NZ and engaging pathologists internationally…they often worked in their own time…what an awesome and dedicated team the ARC are.

Was ok but the vet didn't tell me anything more that I already know, I felt the Consultation was a waste of money plus the cost in petrol from te Kauwhata to Auckland 😵 really as nothing can be done at the moment for my puppy ( investigations) as he is too young to have them done so things have not yet been solved 😒🙄🤔

We can't thank Karl and the team at ARC enough for saving our dog Serge’s life. Even prior to coming in, the team gave us caring and pragmatic advice. Once we dropped Serge to ARC we continued to be updated several times a day on his condition - with updates on his injury and probable surgical outcomes. The calls we received were informative, caring and understanding and helped us manage the stress of thinking we were about to lose our beloved dog. The subsequent, highly successful surgery and recovery has been a credit to the surgical team. Post surgical care, whilst being a concerted effort for all involved has just today led to Serge going for his first post operative walk, 8 weeks later, without a hint of a limp or pain. It was a joyous moment. Constance and I would like to thank ARC from the bottom of our hearts for everything done for Serge and by association our young family. Edward von Dadelszen

I highly recommend Patrick smith one of the oncologists at ARC. He was wonderful, knowledgeable and did everything he could for my jack. Thank you for your caring and wonderful service.

We had to take our 6 month old kitten in or a public holiday because she had been sore all day. We parked up and only had to wait about 5 minutes before someone came out to the car to get her. A full check was done and our kitten came home feeling a lot better for the night. The vet went above and beyond in my opinion. I was a little worried about some of the scan prices, but the vet made sure our kitten was as comfortable as she could so we could monitor over night (she felt a lot better in the morning). From memory, the consultation, pain relief and other bits only cost approx $200. A lot less than we were expecting being a public holiday!

The standard of care at the ARC is of a caliber way beyond anything I have experienced for a very long time. Their Staff are exceedingly through and I certainly knew Ruger my cat was in exceptional care. Anything I wanted to know was very well explained to me in terms I understood and was also given to me in note form. Who ever remembers what you're told!! Thankyou so much for your time and caring. I took Paris to ARC in March 2021, sadly she didn't make it. I was totally broken but the staff at ARC made me felt better. Dr Kelsey Renner was absolutely so understanding and comforted me. They did the best they could for Paris. The service Paris received was second to none. I totally appreciated all the help that was given.

My little black kitten was been hit in the midnight 3 months ago, It was too late when I found him. We took him here as emergency and the stuffs was fast reaction and try to rescue him. He has been wrapped with a nice blanket when after the rescue was declared invalid. It was sad but I could feel I was been care by stuffs at that moment, thank you guys!

Great quality of care and attention. Our cat had to go in 3 times in quick succession and they dealt with him very well. They kept us up to date with phonecalls and/or SMS. Is certainly use them again if we had to.

My dog was admitted after signs of gastrointestinal distress, and the staff were caring / professional and communicative. He was in overnight, diagnostics, and observations the next day. He received top quality care, and I received a text update saying he had charmed the staff, who were all kind and professional to us also, in our distress. The online system with clinical records and receipts / invoices is fantastic for making a quick and easy insurance claim, and for keeping communication transparent. I'm stunned reading some of the reviews, that people believe vets, vet nurses, radiologists, front of house and technical staff should work for free. They want state of the art care and facilities, without thinking how these things get paid for. The team were transparent about my bill, and actually I found the cost more than great value, given my dog had come in long after hours, and received 24 hour care, and has come home well. I'd have paid double if I had to. Would 100% recommend to anyone as a great out of hours or emergency / specialist option.

Our furbaby doggie had a nasty accident when we trimmed a split dew claw : ( Her quick was cut and blood was spurting everywhere. We were so worried and called ARC as they are the closest with an after-hours service. The receptionist we spoke to told us to apply pressure and bring her in. A nurse promptly saw us and applied cauterising powder which thankfully stopped the bleeding. We were given care instructions and put at ease. We are so grateful for the efficient and professional care our baby received and the helpful and reassuring service at a traumatic time.

The team at ARC are incredible. My puppy Alice had a traumatic accident, which required two surgeries and short stays at ARC, as well as scans, injections and medication. The whole team treated her so wonderfully, that she gets excited to go back for follow ups! An animal that walks into the vet with their tail wagging like a helicopter, speaks volumes for the kindness and care shown by the staff.

Dr Lorna and the team at animal referral center were amazing. Our 5 month old puppy decided to swallow a U shaped nail. Within 45 minute of calling and arriving from Whanagaparoa our dog had x-rays and the team was in the process of removing the nail. Puppy is now home and happy as, also providing some laughs for mum and dad with the cone on her head. The best and most appreciated part is that we were called and updated throughout each step of the process! Removing even more stress. Thanks guys! Legends!

I had to take my cat here the other night and it was so nice knowing that my boy was getting a high level of care and loving at the same time, especially when lockdown prevents you from going in too. They provided a great level of information to help keep me at ease and followed up a few days later to see how we're going.

Very easy to be seen and booked in, followed lockdown procedure and were in contact with us all throughout including a very thorough history. They conveyed a clear plan and follow up if needed. Staff were incredibly lovely, caring and very easy to deal with especially given the circumstances of lockdown! Thank you once again for your great care, would definitely recommend :)

Our beautiful family dog Bear is alive only because of these wonderful vets and their team! Yes its expensive ... but a weekend emergency and 24hr care is worth every penny when we got to take our boy home. This is our 2nd time going to the Animal Referral Centre and last time the outcome was bad as our dog didnt make it, the vets did their very best for him but you cant save them sometimes - communication was amazing and they were compassionate and caring in that instance. We didn't leave a review last time as we were too sad - but we appreciate the massive effort both times we have been to see ARC. I 100% recommend their service if you want the very best care for your animal ... I also recommend Southern Cross Pet Insurance as this time they covered over half the costs according to our insurance plan.

It was my cat Michelangelo’s first time to see illness and the experience was perfect, not only to me but also to him. Miche got eye infection, the nurse and doctor took good care of him. I think the doctor’s name is Danny. He gave me lots of advices on miche’s daily life and what’s more he did a very kind follow up which is out of my expectation. Yeah even though emergency is quite pricy but they provide the service that you would think it deserves. And Miche recovers really quick!

We had to visit late at night as my cat's condition was quite severe. While my cat was hospitalized, our cat was taken very good care of throughout the whole time. The best thing was that there was doctors there 24 hours to look after my cat. Every staff was very kind to us and our cat. Thank you so much ! He is now home and getting better :)

Had to take my rat here after hours at around 1am and the staff were very kind, informative and did their best to get Trixie well again. I was told over the phone before coming in that they don't usually treat rodents but the team at ARC did such an incredible job, and Trixie is already looking perkier today which I'm so pleased about. Everyone here has been amazing. Our cat has been under there care for sometime now the whole way through all of there staff have been friendly, compassionate , accommodating and very knowledgeable. all the vets, nurses and staff members that I met were very kind and compassionate. they were very understanding of my uncertainty and anxiousness. i brought my rabbit here when she felt very unwell due to stasis. they seemed quite knowledgeable about rabbits compared to other emergency vets i have been to. they didn't push for the most expensive option to get more money, instead they offered a valid cheaper alternative that could work just as well. they aren't money hungry. after consultation, I was still quite concerned and wanted to discuss further about treatment possibilities and best things to do as I forgot to mention them. they were very nice to give further advice over the phone even though it had been a few hours since I had left the clinic.

I was referred to ARC with a very sick dog, the service was very professional, they took very good care of my dog and i felt she was in good hands. Its a 24 x 7 specialist service that has the capability of doing all the extra investigations required when you need that higher level of care to find out what is going on. Its not cheap, but when you are needing to know what you are dealing with - i would recommend ARC.

If I could give six stars I would. My small dog referred to ARC with lung tumour. I could hardly believe the time and effort made to offer all options and treatment care, how genuinely caring all veterinary, nursing and reception staff have been. The professionalism at every level is outstanding, but the kindness and caring approach exceptional. If your pet is referred to ARC you can have every confidence the service provided is second to none.

Staff were kind and took great care of our wee Griffin who suffered a dislocation and small tibia fracture around midnight one night.

The staff here are excellent. They were so thoughtful and capable when we needed emergency care for our injured cat. The facility is state of the art and they gave our cat the best possible care, even texting us updates and allowing us to visit her over the weekend. We ultimately had to make a very tough decision to put her out of her pain, but the staff were so supportive and informative and made this traumatic time so much easier than it could have been. I highly recommend their services.

The staff are professional and obviously care about their patients. The facility is well equipped and can handle all manner of emergencies. No appointment necessary, but giving them a heads up that you're on your way is a good idea. (Not the driver, the person holding the dog!) Our mini Schnauzer had a little accident and hurt his leg - the staff were able to see him straight away, and after sedation he had x-rays from many different angles, enabling a quick and accurate diagnosis. Thankfully after only a week he's back to his old self.

I cannot thank the amazing team at ARC enough for the amazing care my little girl had when she needed emergency surgery. Each and every staff member was more than helpful, polite and services were quick. Also another note. Karl, the surgeon is one amazing man who spent over an hour on the phone explaining the procedure and what if’s. Ive never felt more at ease about veterinary care. What an amazing team you are ARC!

A wonderful, wonderful team of people who looked after my cat last week who had been run over, with an extremely caring person at the front desk who held my hand as I tried not to cry and explain what happened and she made me a cup of tea! The vet was also clear at explaining everything and explained all the options available. I also had a work colleague who had to take his dog there this week and he said they were just as lovely. I hope never to have to go back but if I do need to, I wouldn't hesitate.

Our kitty Simba was at ARC after accidentally swallowing a plastic item. The vets are really professional and supportive - always giving us thorough updates on his condition and explaining what was going on to us so that we felt well informed. Time and time again this clinic always impresses me with their friendly welcomes and excellent care. They have always provided us with multiple options dependant on what costs we can afford. Their pricing is great considering they are an emergency specialist vet and have always accommodated our pet. The after care is also great as Sarah always made sure she checked in via email or phone weeks after, just to make sure Kombi was doing well. The people are lovely and our girl Kombi absolutely loves her visits there! This morning we had an emergency with our girl and they were able to fit us in right away! Thank you so much to the team there, you have no idea how much we appreciate your work.

Compare to experience at Manukau after hour vet , I 'm so glad I made decision to drive my pet to here , the vet are always attending and helpful . They are reasonable with compassion . Any afterhour emergency for pet , I receommend here . They have aleast two vet are helping during the night , compare to Manukau after hour , you hardly see any doctor or nurse . For your pet life , and have someone attend and keep you update , you are willing to spend your money reasonable with equal service and quality here . DO NOT GO TO MANUKAU AFTERHOUR VET , they are nightmare .

The staff is so friendly and attentive. They explained what was wrong with our dear Milly cat, what the action plan was and gave us regular updates. The facility is clean and looks great. Absolutely recommended them. It does come at a price, but they do provide a quote and updates as the stay progress.

I can't thank or recommend the team at ARC Albany highly enough, especially Karl Mathis. Without their dedication I doubt whether Shado would still have a leg. Everyone from the receptionists to the vet techs and Karl were so caring and I suspect Shado took so long to heal because he loved going to visit his friends each week. Even though he was so noisy they loved seeing him each week. Thank you once again everyone

I can't recommend this place highly enough. They are expensive but the 24 hour nature of the place and the availability of all the tests they can run on site explains that. I had to re-schedule a number of times for the followup and the receptionists are also very helpful. The emergency vets and nurses were brilliant with my very anxious cat. I rang them for advice afterwards and spoke both to the vets and nurses who were so patient with all my questions. It's very far from my normal vet, who is fantastic as well, but now I understand why she recommends them as her after hours backup.

They were great when our dog had a bit of a reaction to an injection he had had a few hours beforehand. They did a full check over of him from head to tail. Very professional & great to have them there 24/7.

The vets and vet nurses took such good care of our bunny during a GI stasis episode. They were knowledgeable about bunnies and sought external advice when necessary too. If you have a bunny needing after hours care I wouldn't hesitate to bring them here. Thanks so much for looking after bourbs! :)

My cat has asthma and chronic kidney disease, and my main vet referred me to the Animal Referral Center team. Fiona and the team have been nothing short of brilliant. Highly responsive, dependable, and very knowledgeable about what they do. Results and treatment options have been communicated over the phone, and in clear language, and with ample consideration given for the stressful circumstances. I see a couple of reviews complaining about the costs. Unfortunately this is a reality of life - healthcare is expensive, even for our furry friends. I've found the ARCVets team very understanding and non-judgemental when it comes to the financial aspects of treatment. I know my cat is getting the best possible treatment at ARCVets. Recommend to all.

Found an injured bird on boxing day. After calling so many vets who were called or those that were open were not answering their phone. These guys were incredible. Very helpful and told me I'd saved a tui bird! Not only were they thankful for bringing the little guy in but they explained what would happen with him. Highly recommend arc! Thank you team.

My dog Lilly and her canine friend Lucy were roaming Brookfield Reserve off Rosedale Rd, both ending up poisoned there by a toxic substance which looked like amphetamines ..Lilly(+ Lucy) was in a terrible state an hour after the walk and had to be transferred to ARC after the initial emergency treatment at East Coast Bays Vet's who did an unbelievable job of managing my pooch who badly reacted to a sedative given to mitigate the severe symptomps of the toxic substance.. ARC staff were fantastic : efficient, empathetic , knowledgeable, I was even offered the lovely receptionist 's own food when she heard I hadn't eaten since breakfast .. I am an RN myself and appreciated the detailed explanation re treatment protocols and emergency procedures to be followed to stabilize Lilly for 12-24 hours.. I felt totally supported and confident with every aspect of Lilly's handling by all ARC staff, the overnight stay and meds given cost way less than initially quoted, can't recommend the service and professionalism and kindness enough..20/10 ratings, stoked to have my girl back today.. I cant Reccomended these guys enough! Our Nigel ate something he shouldnt have. From when i first arrived i felt welcomed and not judged. I felt very comfortable leaving nigel with them (even tho i didnt want to leave him) knowing that he was well cared for. They made sure i understood everything that was happening to him. Thank you for helping my puppy, Pepper Potts, Yesterday. Dr. Xanthe was very friendly. I appreciate her honest advise on how we should proceed and how she explained the situation a few times as I was very nervous. She not only examined her throughly and gave me peace of mind but also gifted us the special food that Pepper needed to take for these next 3 days at home. Pepper is doing a lot better now, and it has only been 1 day with the diet. I cannot recommend highly enough this clinic. Definitely going back if Pepper needs to.

(21 June 17) I just cannot speak highly enough of Karl Mathis and his team. Our boy has just had both of his cruciate ligaments fixed by Karl with metal plates and screws. Karl was recommended to us by friends and I'm so glad we went to ARC from the first step in the door he has been amazing and so informative. He explained everything so very well and was always on hand for our questions and concerns. He phoned us many times to keep us updates throughout Rustles care and even before we went in for the surgery he called us as he saw we bought rustle in overnight and wanted to make sure he was ok. Him and his team at ARC day or night are an amazing one of a kind bunch and we are so very very grateful for absolutely everything they have done. Thanks everyone Taija, Ken and Rustle - **Update 24 Aug 17 - After our boy has had his post op check up from his bilateral surgery we just wanted to update our review for ARC and for Karl and the rest of the team ( sorry I don't know names :) ) we have had the best possible outcome for his recovery process, and Karl was once again super fantastic (and the lovely nurse chloe for clipping our boys nails, we asked if they could do the dew as he cracks that all the time and she did them all instead so amazing thank you Chloe) anyway for anyone that is concerned, worried, thinks their question about their fur babies recovery is stupid, Please Don't think that - These guys are so amazing at making you feel at ease with great explanations and advice and even though we are on the down hill slope now they still let us know we can ask any questions if we have concerns about his knees at anytime, no question is silly. So once again HIGHLY RECOMMEND these guys, best specialists we have dealt with so far! Thank you guys so much we are so truly grateful for everything!

Our dogs hind quarters collapsed, he was in great pain, not wanting to eat and he couldn't toilet himself. Xrays, blood tests, lab. tests came up blank. He truely needed hospitalisation, antibiotics, medical attention and care. Because of our financial position we could not afford a CT Scan, nor surgery... So we returned home for s-l-o-w recovery. The first week was a challenge. I applied physio and massage from guidance of our wonderful vet surgeon. And NOW, 3 weeks down the track, Bruno has finished all his med.s and is starting to bound around our farm again. I am so grateful for the dedicated care and the team's obvious passion for animals. My cat Panda became extremely ill with pancreatitis while in the care of house sitters while we were overseas. The ARC called me twice a day to let me know how he was. I cannot rate highly enough the professionalism, talent and kindness of all those who work there at the Animal Referral Centre. This is a modern hospital with all the amenities for the most severe of cases.
