Reviews of St pauls scenic reserve

The view from the top on a clear day is worth every step of the steep climb. Wonderful 360° vista at the top. You will need proper footwear as the last 30m is clambering up rocks, there are chains to help but flipflops/thongs are not advisable. A camera is also essential! There is also a style to get over and not much shade. This is a walk to be prepared for but to seek out and not miss.

Easy to drive up to but there is limited parking at the start of the trek. It's about 20min up the steep path with a bit of scramble up the side of the rock at the end but there are anchored chains to help you climb. The 360 view of the bay is spectacular

Found myself in the area due to a boys weekend charter trip and jumped on the opportunity to climb this amazing piece of landscape. Great fun climb, so much so I did it 3 times in a row.

Great walk. Couldn't reach the top because you had to climb the rock with a chain to help you. My friend did and the view was amazing. Don't go in flip flops. Wasn't always easy even in hiking boots.

Very nice! Highlight of our trip

A great short walk to the top of an iconic volcanic peak where you see 360 degrees of whangaroa harbour and surrounds. Steep incline in places with a degree of difficulty nrsr the top which requires you to hold a chain for a short while whilst you make your way to the very top. All done in about 4G minutes. Well worth it.

Severely undervalued place. True NZ beauty

Fantastic hike! Epic views from the top. Wear hiking shoes and keep hands free (backpack), a bit of a scramble to the top but so worth it.
B.
Awesome place, easy to climb, and great place to take photos of the whole harbour

Amazing views of whangaroa harbor. Great for outdoors exercise as it is a fair distance to climb to the top
