Good location, clean facilities, although only one kitchen area, so a short walk to get dinner ready if you are on the opposite side. Nearby to lovely beaches. Gets very dusty and crowded with cars during summer. Kids loved the bouncy pillow.

Great place to stay! The staff were fantastic and moved everything around for us to stay. I’m updating a previous review which was fairly under appreciative of the measures they made to accomodate us (we called in on the same day). Very nice facilities, and the walks to the caves and Anzac bay are a must do! Would be a lovely place to stay for 3 or 4 nights instead of just the one.

We stayed here for 6 nights in tents with 6 families. The place is very well run. Showers and toliets were always clean. Great coffee on site until 1pm. Staff friendly. Good campground.

Place is fine, but I strongly suggest to divide camping areas by kids / family friendly and not. It was 10 pm and a group of kids were still yelling and playing and I woke up at 7 am by the same kids yelling and playing. If you are looking for a place to relax and connect with nature, this is not the one. It’s good that I was allowed to bring my dog, who was absolute quiet the whole time, but if I signed a document committing to supervise my dog, parents should do the same with kids. Absolutely rude.

Amazing place and wonderful staff. This place has become our go to place in every holiday and long weekends. Not only the place is really amazing and clean. but those running it are very wonderful people who didn't sell out to the governments discrimination of kiwi families and welcomed everyone without any discrimination what so ever. We are definitely glad to hand over our hard earned money to such amazing people. You earned yourself costumers for life. Keep up the good work. 🙂

Awesome spot, great atmosphere, set up and proximity to beach. The fact they are not discriminators is just the icing on the cake. Heading back for another stay soon

Large camp ground at the south end of Waihi Beach. Convenient location to swim at Waihi Beach with a surf lifesaving club on the foreshore, or a short walk to Anzac Bay. Near Bowentown boat ramp to launch for fishing trips.

Great cabins everything provided only have to provide your own food really well worth the money friendly people every thing is spotless and very clean good parking by the cabin AAA++

Safe and beautiful beach. Has coast guard on standby. Beautiful scenery and full of shades. I shall come back next year.

Amazing place and amazing people, definitely will go back again

A great to escape to if you want to get away for a quiet weekend. Maybe you might want to stay longer, so there are motel units with excellent Seaviews looking over to Mayor Island.

Lovely cosy and warm studio type caravan. Caravan amenties includes: kettle, coffee, tea, sugar and milk. Comfortable bed, they also provide couple of bath towels and body wash gel. Shared bathroom and toilet were clean and tidy. The place is just 10 minutes drive away from Waihi township. Walking distance from the look out where we had a perfect viewing of the sunrise and there were a few things to do around the area as well. Friendly and bubbly staff. 🙌

Beautiful small campsite next to the beach. Kombi vans were excellent fun to stay in.

Awesome place for a vacation...great service and facilities a must for the bucket list ...

We got the last campsite available and it had a sea view. Probably the last campsite available in Coromandel for middle of Christmas holidays so we were very lucky. The best part was it was quiet by 10pm! Facilities were perfectly clean and tidy. It was very crowded, although expected at that time of year.

A very tidy and clean Holiday Camp with outstanding facilities. Great beach and walk to the top of the hill for fantastic views. Can also recommend the Bowentown Boating Club for a great meal out. Their shuttle bus will even come and pick you up from the camp.

Clean and comfortable cabin. Have nothing negative to say highly recommend

Absolutely idyllic place to stay, surf beach one side, tranquil bay the other, walk to the top of the hill for stunning views of the surrounding area. So much to explore and check out. The park is very clean and tidy with all the amenities you could need, and the staff are very helpful and welcoming. Will definitely be back again:)

We were made to feel very welcome. Gorgeous elevated pwer site with vast view of the ocean. Ammenities amazing. A little over priced i feel.

Our favourite holiday park at Waihi, it has everything we need. We also love the cycleway to the town and many hikes around. Perfect stay. Only a few prime spots for motorhomes though which you need to book well in advance 😝

Spent three nights in a campervan but used showers and toilets and washing up facilities there. All very clean and hygienic and nice to be in. Good wi fi connection and great surrounding areas.

Toilets and showers were wonderfuly clean. The staff were lovely and friendly. The grounds were full of awesome fellow campers. A great time was had by us. Cheers Bowentown Beach Holiday Park! Will definitely be back, xxx

Spent 8 days here with our 2 doggies and we had the most relaxing time. Met some lovely campers, there is nothing quite like the sound of the waves crashing to the shore at night when all is quiet. We even booked a cabin for our daughter over the weekend, they had fun also. Everyone was so friendly,and thoroughly enjoying the warm weather. The facilities are clean and the grounds are well cared for. The staff are very welcoming to all. I would not hesitate to reccomend and we will most definitely be booking in again. Thankyou Bowentown Holiday Park, you guy's are awesome.

We booked 2 person self-contained unit, everything is perfect with clean lining and bathroom needs, close to the beach and park, very quiet and pleasant camping area.

We loved our stay here. Family friendly and what a beautiful coast. Our unit was literally across the playground. So good!

Lovely campground although tent sites were too small in comparison to other parks, we hardly fitted our small family tent on it. The two beaches on each end of the park are just priceless, surf on one, paddle on the other. Great for all ages. The shop is small but Countdown delivers online shopping to your tent for normal delivery fee. Hosts are very lovely and helpful. We will be back.

Very family friendly culture. Great layout and the cabins were wonderful. Staff always had a smile on their face. Campground was very full but everyone there was very respectful of time and noise limits

Nice camp ground. Really clean kitchens and bathroom which was much appreciated. The guests were not early sleepers tho so had to use ear plugs. Well spread out and many levels of comfort from no-power tenting through to a nicely finished apartment. Easy access to the beach and the harbour too.

Top spot, great for the family and kiddies. Very accommodating staff and such beautiful clean amenities. Highly recommend! And will be back again and again.

It was the first time staying their and loved it. Very nice location and a huge variaty of cabins, self contained units and motels. The owners where new but suited owning it as they were so lovely and informative of activities. If I had to be negative on anything it would be our unit was very close to waste deposits for motor homes.

A great place to stay friendly couple who Manage the place. Just one thing and its feed back could do with a bathroom up near the sole block of toilets my reason for saying that is I have problems walking due to four back surgeries just a little far for me we were in site 81 great spot but need a shower close by. We are going to come back for sure lovely surrounds and immaculate grounds close to beach. Oh just one more thing a little more lighting too please. Highly recommend the place to stay.

A lot of work has been done by the owners in the last couple of years, beautiful gardens , good sized sites great facilities and a fantastically helpful office lady! We loved our stay thankyou.

Lovely camp ground, all staff were very engaging. Had a PA system which was very informative without being intrusive. Very close to beach access and was a lovely beach. Cabins were well set up and well maintained, would highly recommend

WOW WOW WOW FIVE STAR WOWS, Team gave the warmest welcome I've had anywhere in the world, staff were friendly and helpful. Really clean and well cared for. Take all this combined with a stunning location and it makes it a must visit visit again. would never look anywhere esle in this area after this very enjoyable experience. Well done to all involved keep up the outstanding work.

Wonderful stay. The faculties are extremely clean as w as our unit - spotless. One question, why are there no ladders to get up on the bunk beds. It caused a bit of an issue. We will definitely be back

Have been going here for decades, great family feel, it has constantly changed with the times. Communal areas recently updates. Book well in advance as it fills up quick.

I stayed here during New Year's Eve and the place was absolutely packed with people and boats and there was a great atmosphere. Very friendly staff, great facilities (clean, plenty and up to date), awesome location at the ocean front with beach access. Nice game room for kids and very big kitchen with an outdoor area with picnic tables. They had a band and a BBQ for New Years. Only negative is that the facilities are a long walk if your site is on the outside; most campgrounds have several blocks of facilities. I had to get out to pee during the night and by the time you get to the restrooms and back you are wide awake. That would actually stop me from spending several days there.

I have already reviewed this fantastic holiday park. Book in advance for popular times.....WELL IN ADVANCE. VERY clean. Excellent staff. Excellent facilities. Range of accommodation..... Have tried most and always happy. Lots of things for school kids. Very close to an often vigorous Pacific Ocean and almost as close to northern end of Tauranga's inland harbour where it is usually most suitable for kids of all ages. Bucket listworthy😊

Great spot for families, nice and calm. takes a while to get deeper water though. Also got to be aware of strong currents if going out far.

Great spot for a barbecue or to park your Campervan for a night or two. A very private beach, good small track for a hike with a great view. Toilets, picnic tables, rubish bins and heaps of trees. Stop by! Totally worth it!

We had an excellent spot on site 113, we even had an aerobatic display. Great facilities.

Nice and tidy place, missing wifi included in the price and showers are coin operated, can't have that if you want a higher score. Could do with some more plantings to make the place a bit more cosy.

What a stunning location and a great campsite too. The only frustrating thing is the coin operated showers. Perhaps they could add $2.00 to each booking to cover the cost of these. If you don't have cash with you it's pretty frustrating!

Our 17th year at Bowentown. This year we graduated to a cabin with not only a kitchen and lounge but 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. We still kept our campsite for our adult children who came and went throughout the 10 days. The cabin was great, and the air-conditioning was very much appreciated in the warm evenings. The new owners are doing a great job trying to keep everyone happy. I like the additions they've made to the gardens and they were always willing to go out of their way to make our holiday the best it could be. Thanks again, see you next year.

Love it here. We had a 2 bedroom park motel, it had everything we needed and was modern. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Plus the location is amazing for walks and the beach

Stayed in a self contained cabin which was setup comfortably enough for our purpose. Clean & tidy. Handy to the beach and short walk to a nice bay further down road. Family friendly campground.

Lovely place, sheltered and quite a few shady tent spots which are wonderful for the hot weather. The beach and 3 sheltered bays all within short walking distance make it a great destination!

Ahhh absolutely amazing place to stay. The only thing is the beds are soooo uncomfortable but that's life. Had such a great time, great fishing spots and amazing staff and facilities. Wish I could give you more stars.

A bit expensive even after discounted rates. Less affordable for December quotes rates. Motel will be 3x cheaper. Beaches and scenery are awesome.

Great camp but a shame the bushes are blocking the sea view on the lower sites. Fascilities were great and a great camp for children.

Briefly- VERY professional, helpful and pleasant staff. A great situation. VERY clean and tidy -"immaculate" & " perfect " are two words that spring to mind. It is very popular so if you want to stay there over holiday periods BOOK EXTRA EARLY.😀

Very nice park outside town at the beach. If you chose the B1 or B2 side you will have beach view and easy access to toilets but a bit longer walk to the main amenities. 50c for a five min shower is not bad, but a hot shower should be included. It's not the money it's the ease of use and having change on hand. Have a good brekky at the Flat White Cafe at the beach, about five mins drive north. Free WiFi and really good food and coffee with beach view.

Bowen Town has now stopped all Freedom Camping. WHY Who knows. Everytime I've been there the van owners have been considerate and observed all the rules. It's a bad move. The alternative sites offered are not that pleasant. Cramped or carpark like. Very sad. But as a location Bowen Town is magic

Love this camp ground, it has shelter from the sun with beautiful mature trees, and kids best playgrounds, with Bowentown Head next door to explore, the surf beach - Waihi Beach and Anzac Bay Beach a calm tranquil beach. Whether it’s surfing, kayaking, fishing, cricket, tennis, playgrounds, views of Matakana Island, Mayor Island and Mount Maunganui from Bowentown Head, collecting shells, walk over to Shelley Bay it’s all here. The camp ground offers a wide selection of accomodations and is very popular. There are cafes and restaurants between 5 & 10 minutes drive away.

I visited the camp for a BOP Mustang club picnic. The owners of the camp are members. So they opened the place up for us. A Very tidy and well equiped camp!

Bowentown is a home for our whanau, so we are not rating. Tupuna's home, Marae, Otawhiwhi is a spiritual for all who were brought up on and around Memories.
