Wonderful admin staff & systems set up for covid entries. So polite & informative. Ed doctors and nurses so professional, humble & kind. Cleaners, support staff amazing. Well done management you have set up great crew and makes me less nervous about omicron outbreak with such a strong hospital service & wow parking was reasonable too 👍👍

I want to share my experience I had this week. I was taken by Ambulance in an emergency situation. The Ambulance staff were amazing, the ED department were wonderful, professional, caring and respectful.
The Specialists, Doctors , Nursing staff, Aids, Orderlies were simply amazing.
The standard of care, of kindness, of professionalism was Outstanding. They went out of their way to show care and kindness.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
J.
Best hospital and staff. Saved my life three times. Specialists and all hospital staff are the best and my care undertaken has been excellent.the dedication and commitment is faultless and excellent. We are lucky to have a world class hospital at our disposal . Thank you for everything and your ongoing care

I had an appointment at 9am and it was a great time as wasn't busy. My only problem there is no privacy at the reception as everyone can hear everyone's name, address and phone number at the reception and the guy there was so loud. 'What's your name?' What's your address?' Etc. There is no privacy at all.

Main hospital for the Wellington region. Open 24 hours, accessible to public transport, with a few sheltered bus stops right outside of the hospital. Near to a Countdown Supermarket, and the Newtown shops.
Parking may be a issue, especially during office hours, and Monday to Friday, so plan your trip wisely, and if possible use the multitude of bus routes that go by the hospital.

They fixed a molar job gone completely wrong, by another practioner, even the filling fell out. The other practioner
refused to repair without further payment. I had to get a grant to pay the other practioner, then, because of the complications had to go to the hospital several weeks later!! Highly recommend the Hospital service. Clean professional and affordable.
I don't recommend Newtown Dentist.

Went to the cancer treatment center, very lovely nurses who do a wonderful job looking after the patients who are having chemo treatment

On Once My Last Visit To This Hospital In 2019, We Had A lot Of Interesting Stuff Happen Since & I Would Say All The Humans/Creatures I Was Studding Back Then May Have All Passed Thru The Hospital By Now, However It Was A Very Productive Evening For My & She Still Run's From The Darker Part's Of The Hospital Some Night's... We Need More In Side Photos Of The Hospital...

Not a place you want to visit but if you have to you’re in a good place and in good hands. Today however one star less than perfect as its impossible to sit in the cafe or seating area adjacent with the piano blasting out silly tunes with too many notes at a volume that is hard to ignore. Not very relaxing.

I had a wonderful time in ward 7 of Wellington regional hospital. The nurses were absolutely wonderful and worked very hard. They were always kind and willing to help.
The doctors were great and I felt very comfortable under their care.
I can’t forget the kitchen staff etc. the meals were excellent and satisfying.
A great all round hospital experience.
Thanks to doctors and nurses for their selfless care.

Shattered my femur and had to undergo emergency operation to insert a nail in my hip. The nurses at Ward 6 N were very supportive and made my healing very comfortable. My doctors were clear and forthcoming and had done a great job patching me up. I had a very positive stay.
C.
My friend had an knee operation this morning. The lead surgeon is Peter Devane after the surgery. He waited with my friend for over a half an hour waiting for a Bariatric bed to arrive. Gold exemplar service from Dr Devane abd everyone else supporting him in the Theatre. Nga mihi nui ki a koutou.
V.
A beautiful hospital very much quiet and friendly Doctors and Nurses. ❤⭐❤⭐❤

Lots of help available as you come in. Volunteer helpers friendly without being pushy.
Top marks for all departments continuing to work so effectively during this covid time

Great professional services, friendly and helpful service at front entrance. Very clean environment. I had my appointment, and was very well looked after. Thank you, very much appreciated ☺️

Awesome care from a great team/s wonderful nurses and orderlies, wicked talented Drs., and under lockdown conditions they all came together and made, what could of been miserable without whanau, a very positive healing adventure.
c.
had to wait 15 mins for a dental appointent

Every single member of staff that I dealt with was absolutely fantastic. Reception, the orderlies, the nurses and the doctors- every single one of them were incredible and I am very grateful so have been taken care of by such a great group of people. What a fantastic team Wellington Hospital have. Thank you so much.

I was booked for general surgery approx three months from now, was contacted a couple of days ago re an unexpected short notice cancelation and am now writing this post operation.
Great staff at every aspect of the process, I was kept informed and looked after very well.
The nurses handled my post surgery complications with kindness and professionalism. The doctors and specialists made sure I knew what was going to happen.
I am proud of Wellington Hospital and hope I never have to visit again, but if I do, it will be safe in the knowledge there is a brilliant team with me at every stage.
R.
Great hospital with staff who were really good to me. I had my surgery on my stomach and everything turned out well. I'm only giving it 4 stars because there will always be room for improvement. If anyone needs urgent care or if anyone is in severe pain than I suggest they call an ambulance or there will be delays no matter the treatment.
E.
Just want to give a review because I came to drop something off and the amazing man at the volunteers help desk didn’t just point me in the right direction but took me the whole way to where I needed to go and was so helpful, very happy with the service thank you!!!
F.
amazing experience, nurses were so polite, wellington hospital will always be the best hospital in NZ
L.
The staff at A&E were the best you could wish for. Thanks to the night shift. You did a sterling job. Wish I could mention the names of the team.
G.
Went to the Wellington Regional Hospital for an appointment in the Neurology Dept. Very good staff. And let me know about what was happening next.
A.
Very efficient, did an excellent job. If it’s not urgent they will put it off until it becomes urgent. Also very keen to get patients out the door. Remember if it’s ACC related you can probably go private...tell the GP, as some don’t ask how it happened.
G.
It is interesting that some people whine about a few hour wait when the understaffed doctors and nurses are treating a LOT of emergencies, but no one seems to comment on it being free??? The wife just had a triple bypass and the service could not have been better. The staff are undermanned and run off their feet. Most don't even get to take a break because of their workload and they are on 12 hour shifts. There may be a (perceived) rude person or 2, but lets not tar all the staff with the same brush. Our experience has left me in awe of what the staff have to put up with. To us, they are awesome!!
J.
Nurses and doctors all awsum an if you need to stay get your food brought in,I know hospital food not always the best but I was really shocked at what they served, Pesto fish that's dry tasteless an no pesto baked cauliflower that tastes like it was boiled with the fish an stole it's flavor, broccoli and sliced almonds I couldn't find any nuts except the person who cooked this, cous cous and spinach was dry an horrible with 3 tiny baby spinach leaf, the boiled potato was lovely tho cold, thank goodness I only stayed 1night.

I took my disabled non verbal son into the hospital after he had a heavy fall and he couldn’t tell us where his obvious pain was.
A @ E were absolutely brilliant and quickly, through X-ray and examination, assured themselves and us he hadn’t done serious damage.
It was busy but they kept him calm and he was unfazed.
Well done Wtgn Hospital.
S.
My son was in terrible pain, A and E was so busy with Lions game in Wellington. We were seen with urgency and the doctors were very thorough when treating him and the on going communication was great. The doctors and nurse Danielle covered all the bases and kept a good eye on my sons progress. Very much appreciated, especially as staff seemed stretched to take care of so many people. He is recovering well in the Childrens Ward and he is still being really well taken care of ! Thanks and Well Done All Staff 👏👏👏👏
M.
Unfortunately I've visited many departments of the hospital but I've found all the staff super friendly. Everyone has a smile and an encouraging word. There is nice live music in the lobby along with a pleasant Wishbone cafe. Parking can be a challenge but Countdown does provide 90 minutes free parking if you go down to the second level underground. A big thank you to all the staff.
K.
Made a great difference to my Dad's life. Initially, my Dad was going to be permanently stuck in bed at a retirement village for the rest of his life. The professional surgeons and associated staff at the Wellington Hospital saved him from this dire state. Thanks to their excellent surgery, my Dad now walks again and lives in his own home.
K.
The character is just as good as in the states. Quite efficient and very kind care from all of the staff here. Really surprised at the Quality Care in this country as I was told it was less than in the USA. If you're traveling and not a citizen the cost is actually quite affordable. It does seem that they have all of the modern tools at their disposal. Can't say anything bad other than the facility looked a bit old and tired. But, it's obvious they put their money in more Necessary Things rather than fancy buildings. The MRI machine was brand new as well as most of the equipment in the ER. Thank you all for your help and kindness
s.
Ample parking, spacious, clean and comfortable. Offers good facilities, breastfeeding and antenatal classes.
A.
It's stressful to be in a hospital. Although I don't blame the hospital for this, this was my experience. My wife had a fall and I decided to drive into the hospital rather than call the ambulance. Due to this we were quite low priority for them. The waiting room was cold and I think we must have waited for 2 hours or more. Not a great experience. I think the health system is to blame rather than this hospital.
T.
Was a Waiting Period. But other Wise was Gud
N.
They were so busy but remained so lovely. I went in I had an anxiety attack and they put my mind at ease . I had a doctor called Craig Wallace who was absolutely fantastic and made me feel 100 percent at ease.
The Wellington hospital is great
R.
My mum got flown there from Masterton with encephalitis. She was in ICU for two weeks. The staff were so helpful and respectful. The lady who organised us to stay in the whanau room was amazing. Could not have asked for a better crew at such an awful time.
M.
Wellington hospital all the doctors and nurses that saved my life. I'm forever grateful 🏥😍
S.
Heart and Lung Unit_was well looked after from excellent nurse's and doctors who do such an awesome job looking after you, thankyou.

Twas the night of the blood moon and my son who is half wolf was beginning to have growing pains as a result of his transformation. We took him to A&E to try get him some relief and the staff promptly directed us to a small man sitting on a toad stool behind the hospital. Initially I was apprehensive as you can imagine but the dwarf man gave us a jar of wolfbain and gypsy tears to rub on my sons muscles. The whole experience was quick and painless and over quickly. When my son returned to human form the staff informed me he would need a high protein diet to support a less painful transformation next time and they were right! 10/10 would visit again, I can’t praise them enough.
B.
Last week I was in Wellington Hospital. The doctors, nurses and cleaning staff were excellent. Great treatment and well looked after from A&E to High Dependence Ward. A big thank you to you all.
B.
marking it down a star because i was born there however when i had appendicitis a couple of years ago it was a pretty fun time. i had to wait like four hours to get treatment even after i accidentally threw up on a nurse (sorry) but when i was getting my blood test a different nurse showed me a video of her kitten playing fetch. i got like two weeks off school as well so all in all a very good time
R.
Parking limited but it’s because it is a big hospital. Parking is expensive. Cleanliness all round is good and staff are helpful.
L.
My husband was flown there from Nelson to have a double bipass. I cannot praise the medical staff highly enough. From the surgeon, to the registrar and all the nurses. If we had paid private the treatment would not have been better. The surgeon and registrar came to see how he was everyday. I would have no fear if I ever needed treatment here. A big standing ovation to them all.
H.
Women's health unit is amazing. Free service and related councilling is offered for life.
S.
Had a small mass removed under G.A. Dr Andrew Ing, Dr Mein and the recovery nurses Rebecca and Danica where absolutely fantastic!! Nothing was an issue for them and they made it stress free. Extremely friendly and helpful, especially at this time of year
C.

Needs drastic injection of funds from the Govt urgently (after having been left in financial drought for years) in order that the hospital can do its job and prevent acute and other patients from dying while waiting for treatment!
How about REALLOCATING a good portion of the $20 BILLION BUDGET earmarked by the govt. for "defence" (from what??) yesterday into services that are so much more DESERVING OF MORE FUNDING such as hospitals, tertiary institutions, R & D (agricultural, medical, tech), farmers, small biz (the backbone of NZ!), drivers (hit again at the petrol pumps), etc.
There's no shortage of news about patients dying while waiting for treatment (even yesterday!) so no excuse for those who are ultimately responsible for our Healthcare, to turn a blind eye about the state of our Hospitals, just because they can afford to get EXPENSIVE & PRIVATE treatment for themselves and their families (with their vulgar salaries & perks) unlike most of Godzone who struggle to make ends meet, yes even the so-called middle-class, who has been squeezed too much and too often!
N.
Dear Sir/Madam,
I have just arrived home after having my top teeth removed. I want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart. You made me feel so happy. You answered any questions I had explained everything so I knew what was happening. You made me feel important. I especially want to thank the nurse Sarah (inner mermaid) I think that you are fantastic.
b.
Came here for the very first time. Easy to locate the departments. Awesome staff.
P.
Great once you get in appointments are to far apart, parking is a nightmare, hospital should let you know when they tell you about your appointment that parking is bad.
B.
Surgical, Oncological and nursing staff were first rate from our experience in wards and ICU. Well done, it's not easy keep it up.
