I wish to say a huge thank you for the wonderful care my Dad experienced at Kew when he was rushed there from Queenstown for surgery. The hospital staff, including the fabulous theatre staff, were calm, thorough, and skilled. Particular note of appreciation to Dr Mavis and her team. We were especially impressed because Dad was there on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day! Thank you

Recently I had occasion to be in the Nuclear Medicine department twice, 2 weeks apart. Both times I was met promptly and professionally by staff. Everything was explained clearly and questions were answered so that I could understand what was happening. The nurses and workers were and are an amazing group of people working under some very difficult conditions. I applauded them all as an extremely dedicated folk . Well done to you all. Thank you for your dedication and commitment. SIMON BRADLEY.

Although incredibly busy the Emergency room staff are wonderful, nurses and doctors. Competent, great communication and very caring. Thank you for doing such a great job supporting my Mum, you are rock stars!

My dear old mum was admitted into the Medical ward after a wee tumble at her island home The care and love she received was of the highest standard. The nursing staff would have had their hands full with her I know as she is very set in her ways. Yet she has nothing but kind words for them. I was treated for minor surgery by the team at Southland hospital on the 3rd of November 2021. Dr Neil Lowrie, Nurse Jan and House surgeon Intern Maddie. Whilst only 3 minor procedures to remove lesions/moles, Nurse Jan was fantastic with reassurance and consideration for my well being. Dr Neil was absolutely great at informing me of the procedures and exactly what he was doing before he did it. In summary, THANK YOU ALL, it was great to be treated as a human being, not part of your every day routine!

As a north lander and RN my husband and I found invercargill hospital very good efficient and professional. Very friendly helpful staff 👍👍

Well I know that people complain a lot about hospitals but I was very grateful for the care we received in the ED following a mountain bike accident. Staff were pleasant and professional. I'm going to sew up, in black thread and large ugly suture stitch, the Mons Royale cycling shirt you cut off my husband, and make him wear it every time he hits the trails as a reminder and a warning to others. All the best, and hopefully our paths don't need to cross again.

Once a Sprawling State Hospital Complex it is now a large parking lot and a New smaller Hospital sits on the Former Parking Lot. Some Tiles from the old Chirdrens ward where save as art work for the new building but not much else.

Thank you to the medical and nursing staff of A&E and the Medical ward for top care my husband received during his recent hospitalisation. I can not speak highly enough about this - I am a practising registered nurse. Well done team and a huge thank you from us both

While very much understaffed and under pressure, you still manage to supply good care for general medical complaints. Below is a kosher pic of my prostrate after a biopsy procedure today.

Many thanks and high praise to the staff in Children's department, they handled our autistic 5 year old so well. A broken arm meant he was well out of his comfort zone but efficient gentle treatment from the nurses and doctors and fast work by the xray staff got us through the system quickly. So good to know you are all there!

Just had major surgery there,very opposite care to the last time I was an impatient.Though the food remains inedible. Very caring staff ,though it's obvious that everything is wearing out and not being replaced or repaired.Many staff I spoke to are wanting to move on ASAP. What are our complacent MPS doing about the poor funding so obvious within the hospital.

Southland Hospital is one of the best Hospitals in the South Island . I have been admitted to The Children's Ward numerous times For Surgical procedures. The ward is so awesome. I get the care that I need thanks to all of the amazing ward Nurse's and doctors. They helped me lots of times over the past years. And a very special thanks to the orthopaedic doctors

This is a very good hospital with very caring staff. It provides modern facilities and treatment in the financially constrained environment of public health care. Yes it could be better but unless better funding is allocated to it, Southland hospital will do the best with what it has.

Were in breast care centre, the staff & nurse VERY nice and friendly. I dont understand why people gave bad reviews, but we had a wonderful hospitality with a good care.

Blood poisoning treated in surgical ward. Including an operation. A well run ward which sees 2000 people per month with just 40 beds!
