C.Getting pretty tired now and had to move rooms due to maintenance but always lovely staff and comfy bed for good nights sleep for picky regular traveller, food is normally pretty good but let down a bit this time, overall really would benefit from a complete refurb..
M.Very friendly and helpful staff but the room, although tidy and clean was very small and the air conditioning didn't work.
K.We hosted an event here and hands down, it was one of the best places I've hosted an event.
The accomm definitely needs a refurb, but the beds were clean and comfortable, so all good with me.
Even had a little balcony to open the door to if you wanted some fresh air.
Only downside was the awkward parking situation, but the event space was SO good that it was worth handling it.
Staff exceeded requirements. Loved it.
D.We stayed for two nights, the hotel is comfortable, good beds, well located and has off street parking on site, easy to get to. What really stood out was the hotel staff, friendly and helpful, from our first contact at reception, through room service, bar, restaurant and kitchen, they were all great, we saw a lot of multi tasking an obvious sign of a well run establishment. We would definitely stay again at this hotel.
N.The hotel is tired and not everything works. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Good comfortable bed and the meals are reasonable. Not a bad place to spend a night.
M.Room was clean and tidy. Very annoyed that upon arrival we were asked for extra $100 bond - NOWHERE was this written or explained when we rang and booked our room. We did ask for a balcony but it was was teeny tiny , so any chance of enjoying a wine out there was gone! Had to plug kettle in bathroom as no where to plug it in the room! Power points in very odd places! No extractor fan in bathroom so ended up with a foggy mirror. BUT was nice n close to Queen Street ,staff were pleasant - $100 bond refunded as we left , dinner was lovely and beds were super comfy. Would probably stay again.
m.Staying here over the days of shout conference they lovely very welcoming. Rooms are also lovely especially the bed n shower. Nice food also
J.My family of 4 stayed here for 2 nights which was of great value thanks to "away to go", which included breakfast. Breakfast was very nice and a great highlight to start the day. Beds are very comfortable. Although everything seemed clean there was a large amount of splatter marks above us when lying on the bed where the little spot light was (im guessing it was food) and it was also on the curtain. There was also a long dirty drip mark on the back wall of the toilet which wasn't pleasant to see and couldn't be missed. Under the beds were quite dirty, I only noticed this because I checked to see if anything dropped. We also only had 2 towels for the 4 of us so we had to share and there was no hot chocolate in rooms. However all towels and milk was replenished, all our rubbish was taken away. This place has a great location. We used e-scooters to get too and from town so we didn't lose our parking, which was great fun. Best thing was they have the friendliest and helpful staff. I think the cleaning could improve but they may have just rushed our room as the lady needed to check if it was done at 2pm. Oh and unfortunately my partner had 1 smoke on the balcony when we got back from town (very stupid). The staff lady knocked and asked us if we were smoking as she could smell smoke in the hall way I said yes my partner but couldn't see how she could smell it as he was outside and only had 1 but we were given a warning. Again lovely staff! We did see later that the room next to us was smoking on the balcony which we had told them and also the people next to them were doing the same but im guessing they said they weren't smoking. I loved the aircon and the silence when you closed the balcony doors. I would give 3 stars but because the staff and breakfast is awesome here I gave 4. Parking is $20 per day and is limited so I would take that into consideration if travelling with a vehicle next time.
E.This is my go to hotel whenever I go to a concert (so sadly I haven’t been in ages) it’s within walking distance to spark arena (if you go down the stairs just passed the hotel you get there quicker) and the rooms are of a decent size. Absolutely wonderful staff! Hopefully international acts will be able to start up again so that I’m able to return
d.Shes a tired old dear that could do with a lick of paint and some tlc.
The air con was not working so it was hot and stuffy, couldn't leave balcony door open due to train and traffic noises.
But, all staff we dealt with were friendly and helpful. And breakfast was delicious, good portions and really good price.

Furniture in the room is looking tired, could do with some paint. Bathroom had a broken tile and also needing some tlc.
J.Great location. Handy to Spark Arena. Parking is terrible, get in quick as you don't miss out! And if you want to keep your park, best to walk if possible. Staff were super friendly, welcoming and helpful. The room was a decent size and the bed was A-MAY-ZING! The view was also nice. We got a room with the shower over the bath, I was expecting a large spa type bath... but I was seriously disappointed! The table also only had one chair, so one of us had to sit on the edge of the bed to eat, which was annoying. But either way, the room was comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

T.Oversubscribed parking spots. Paid 40 dollars for 2 days of parking but was told on second night that there is no spot available. Then asked us to park at Wilson parking instead. This is not acceptable. Keep track of parking space and make sure match number of cars you accept for parking to the spaces you have. Otherwise room ok for price.
A.Very dissapointed with the room. On entering the room there was a siren going off, after investigation found out it was the fridge, promptly turned if off. The balcony was great but the doors did not shut properly. There was no way to clean the toilet after hubby had been and the exhaust fan did not work. Not good. The chain on the door lock also did not slot in to the hole, no extra security. However, the bed was very comfortable and the pillows perfect and also very clean. Overall the room needs an upgrade. Staff were excellent at check in and check out. We were part of a large group booking and it was very disappointing after returning to the hotel after an awards evening at Eden park, we all met for a few drinks. Were asked to leave at midnight. Not a good look Copthorne. We were all of the older age group and well behaved. Would have been nice to leave in our own time.

I hadn't stayed here in years, and it's had a bit of a facelift in the lobby/bar/restaurant. Comfortable rooms, if not a little dated, but clean and got a great sleep.
The staff were incredible. Friendly, accommodating and extremely helpful. Definitely recommend and would go back again. 👍
G.The room was ok, could do with some painting. The toilet/bathroom has a musty smell. Also gets foggy when showering could do with a fan in the bathroom. The door to the balcony isn’t safe at all as it doesn’t lock. Not safe for children aged 4 under. Great customer service at reception and cleaners were very helpful.
T.Good central location and a cheap Uber ride to most places. The room was average with the bed side table with damaged top. The parking on side is very limited and it is a first in first served setup, you may need to pay for overnight parking down the road.
D.Initial impressions were good, friendly staff, nice clean lobby area. Got to the room and was impressed clean and tidy although dated. Go to look out the balcony and the door wouldnt open, had to really push hard to open it.
Got back to the hotel after going out for the night, and found there were no power points by the bed, the bed was very soft, and pillows very firm, giving a weird combination that made it difficult to get comfortable. There was also a good 1.5cm gap under the door that let in alot of light from the corridor.
About 2am room was getting very hot, turned on the Air conditioning, which was very loud. As i live reasonably locally was very close to just going home so i could get a decent night sleep.
Woke up the next morning at 10.15, nearly missing check out as my phone had died with the lack of power points by the bed.
S.I had another wonderful stay. Yes, the hotel is a bit dated, but it’s clean, in a convenient location, rooms are quiet and the service is excellent. Just minutes walking from the university and shopping/dining. Special shoutout to Julia who went above and beyond to ensure guests had an enjoyable breakfast experience. Thank you Julia! I will be back.
P.Upon arrival we were delightfully greeted, by warm welcoming staff. We had been given clear instructions on all information pertaining to our room. On departure the staff had been kind enough, to let us keep our bags at the hotel until our shuttle arrived.
I was highly pleased with my experience here and would recommend it too others.

K.The location is great, especially for a concert at Spark Arena. The staff were all really friendly, no matter who you ran into. The rooms are very dated, especially the bathrooms. Surprisingly you can't hear much traffic noise if the door is closed which is nice (we stayed on the side that looks out over the road). For the price though, it's okay.
G.Only stayed here for one night but what I experienced was alright. The actual beds were comfy and the rooms were clean, if that's all your looking for then this is the place.
However, the actual hotel is a bit shabby and in need of a restoration. The ground floor is nice and modern and seems to have been done not so long ago but the corridors and rooms definitely have not. The parking is also not very plentiful so if you need it it's a first come first serve basis. $10 for the night if I can remember right.
I'd stay here again but not for long.

However, with accommodation rates changing almost hourly, it is a real dice throw trying to get a good rate, even with Trivago.
K.I had a pleasant stay. The staff were friendly, the bed was comfortable and the room was adequate. The rates are also good for the location. The only let down was that the room felt a little dated. Very fair for the price though.
P.A bit tired in the rooms but great staff and excellent service. Bed was amazingly comfortable and pillows I could actually sleep on.
P.A very handy location within walking distance of the CBD. Decent size rooms with a super king size bed. The bathroom is dated with the shower over the bath and no hand rail to assist the climb into the bath. For a tall person to shower requires a bend over to wash the hair as the shower head is very low. Apart from the bathroom a very comfortable room.
R.Room was fine enough. They have limited parking, if you don't get there in time, you have to park way down the street in a Wilson's car park. Not quite convenient. Easy walk down to the main streets of Auckland though which was good.
a.Comfortable stay plus staff at reception chk in 13 Sep & bar were really nice! The bed only had two sheets with a wool blanket in between, too light for me. I grabbed the heavier blanket from the cupboard & felt more comfortable after that. Check out caused a bit of confusion.

T.Arrived early from the uk (8.00am) & had to wait until 2 ish for our room, we were knackered, sweaty & required a freshen up. No room to shower or tidy up only the local toilets which was disappointing. Place was ok once we got our room & good choice at breakfast.
R.Good location but the hotel building is tired; our room had a leaking shower with old/missing sealant. Breakfast was a pretty average buffet - little choice for vegetarians!
Staff were friendly and helpful but I certainly wouldn’t say it was a 4 star hotel.

G.The hotel is in a nice position for shopping and ferries. We had a room on the 5th floor looking out over the port. It was quite except for the occasional lorry. Staff pleasent and helpful. Room clean and got serviced well. The breakfast was the only let down. Occasionally had to wait for trays to be filled.
R.The bed is one of the most comfortable beds I've stayed in. Maybe I've got the lucky room?
That aside, the shower floods into the room & onto the carpet.
Food in the hotel restaurant is average. Recommend going into town for dinner.

e.My wife and I had a really great stay here. The room wasn't huge but was pretty much ideal for us. The bed was comfortable and the location was good as we like to walk around a bit.
K.absolutely lovely. The staff are darlings and the food is excellent. I would recomend the butter chicken and the braised pork. The waiter should also get a promotion :)
J.Alrighty, To start off with the reception was absolutely superb. Great people with amazing customer service.
The buildings carpark was full but they did give us a ticket to park in a parking building about 200m down the road.
The only downside was there was only two cups and saucers in a room with three of us. We did ask for another mug via calling reception and one was sent up immediately.
Other than that, it is a very good place to stay if you are going to Spark Arena.
A.Had an upgrade. Very friendly staff and so nice to have free wine and chocolates on arrival to our room.

A.Excellent service. Arrived early and they got our room ready before checkin time. Also carried out bags up. Rooms were very clean and modern, had an issue with the t.v but they fixed it very quickly. Is close to the city centre and less than 10 minutes walk to britomart station. Had a great stay and will definitely book here again.
S.I stayed there for a work conference thay was held at the hotel. There was nothing really bad, it is just very basic. The rooms were a little tight to move around and the amenities were very minimal but it has everything you'd need. Service was fine; the staff were friendly and helpful.

S.It's a good location, it takes about 19 minutes to get to queen street. I've been twice and both times were good but had different room layouts, the second time was noiser (traintracks) and the shower leaked.

K.Reception staff being Abit power hungry with a last minute reservation.. unsure if it's procedure.. other than that. It's very old and very runned down but didn't expect much for the price!
G.Pleasant staff quite tidy but they went wrong with over spending on the room furnishings..which was a bummer the linen terrible grey/brown coloured white sheeting and bedding(needed bleaching) just such a let down.unironed so they just felt yuck.

There are a lot of steep hills in Auckland and this location is no exception.
T.Nice evening meal and early buffet breakfast available if, like us, you are catching a plane or going on a train journey. Nice outlook from second floor.

University of Auckland, hospital. Its an old hotel but warm and friendly. Parking can be a problem. NZ$20 for parking and limited space, first come first serve.
B.The Copthorne wasn’t bad; it just wasn’t great either. The food in the restaurant was a little average. I wouldn’t rush back there but wouldn’t kick up a fuss if I was put there either. It’s really hard to put my finger on why this place didn’t resonate with me.
