The hotel is well-situated for the CBD and is good value. My room was spacious and clean. The bed was large. The heat pump worked well although it was not straightforward to operate at first. Parking is available at $21 per 24 hours at a …

Reception allocated us a room next to a disruptive group despite knowing there was police presence as we checked in. The police were dealing with some situation in the neighbouring room as we checked in so reception must have known they …

I stayed on 2 separate occasions. I can't fault the front desk service - friendly and welcoming and check in was quick and easy. For my first night's stay, I was upgraded to a studio. It was reasonably spacious (for a budget hotel) and was …

Handy location ordinarily, tho' currently across the road from a big, long-term construction project. Room was fine, as was Asian lady's day-time reception. However, due to what I understand are cut-backs in staff, the front door was …

I've stayed at this hotel numerous times and I'm always greeted with a warm welcome on arrival. Some of the rooms are on the small side, but the studios are a reasonable size. The beds and pillows are comfortable and the room amenities are …

We have stayed at the Econo Lodge each year when we are in Auckland for business. The interior is a little outdated but this is reflected in the price. Being situated in the heart of the CBD it is great value for money. The staff are super …

This hotel was centrally located and close to the restaurant for our evening meal. Reception staff were friendly. The room was clean and comfortable despite the age of the decor. I would definitely look to stay again for an overnight trip.

It's important to understand this is a review of a BUDGET hotel. The rooms are quite small but ok. You have en suite bathroom, air con, tv and fridge. We ordered breakfast with our stay and you had a good selection of options again this was fine. The location of the hotel is great, right in the city centre. It was clean enough and the staff were helpful and friendly. There is also car parking at a discounted rate next door. Don't expect a 4 or 5 star experience you Will be disappointed. However for a city centre budget hotel it's good. I would use it again.
A.
Hotel was central to all the shops & restaurants and the staff were very professional but also friendly and helpful. The room was comfy and clean. We pre-booked breakfast but the eggs, bacon & sausages were nearly cold and there weren't any pancakes as they'd run out and didn't replace them.

Super super tiny simple rooms. Somehow the photos online make the place look much much newer. Rooms look much much larger and nicer. Their own PR created my disappointment, set my expectations too high to be met. Rooms are tiny. This is …

I stayed in a "compact room" at this hotel but was pleasantly surprised by its size which was perfectly adequate for one person. I thought the cost was very good for a hotel in the centre of Auckland city. The bed was very comfortable and …
A.
Location of the hotel was great. Slightly away from the noise of Queen Street, but an easy stroll to most attractions. The Casino was only a few minutes away and Spark arena was a fairly easy 15-20 minute walk. We opted for a 'small room' …
A.
Lovely friendly and helpful staff, comfortable bed and heater which was fantastic. Breakfast was great and being able to park next door was excellent. The location is central to the CBD so perfect for a city stay. Room only big enough for one really and the shower was a bit slow. But felt very safe and looked after.
A.
Would stay again but might upgrade to larger room. Good value for money if you just need a place to sleep. Convenient and close to transportation, restaurants, and shopping. Hot water went out but staff responded and fixed the problem very quickly. Free luggage storage is a good service for those checking out early.
A.
Econo Lodge is good value for money in central Auckland. Very convenient location in CBD with easy walking to shops, restaurants, trains and buses. The rooms are fairly basic but comfortable enough. The parking is handy at the crowne …
A.
We stayed in a studio type room, very large and comfortable and benefitted from a little balcony which we enjoyed a lot as we do not use AC unless it is absolutely necessary. The only disturbance came from outside (there is a building site …

The hotel is in the CBD so everything is literally on the doorstep. The rooms are comfortable, although I would recommend a queen as opposed to a double. Can easily accommodate groups too. The staff are helpful and friendly - from the desk …

The reception staff demonstrated friendly demeanour.

We ad a great stay. love that it is in the middle of the CBD.
Great place for a short stay, as rooms can be small. …

It is what it says on the label - and there's nothing wrong with that! This is low budget accommodation for those who really are sick of backpackers and just need a night or two in Auckland without breaking the bank. Yes, the whole place looks like it was trapped in the 60's, the floor is uneven, and the bathroom is spartan, but that's all you need when you're only up for a concert, etc. The service from the staff is good, there is breakfast available and quick check in and out. Don't knock it until you try it!
A.
Right near the centre of town, this is an ideally placed hotel. Rooms are small and a little bit worn. But it was clean and tidy and the staff was welcoming. If you just need somewhere to sleep and are not planning on spending alot of time in your room, this is a great place to stay
A.
I'd like to stay there again. Hotel staffs are polite and kind. Room is clean, good amenities, kettles, coffee and hot chocolate, mini-refrigerator (with free bottled water), iron and iron board. The water pressure of the shower is good and hot water is really nice. Location is convenient, near the train station and city centre.
A.
We stayed for just a night after arriving off a long flight. The front desk staff were super friendly. The room was clean with all the facilities we needed. The location is superb - we were getting a bus to Taupo and it's just around the …

Good hotel fir a moderate price. Helpful front desk staff. Parking in building next door meant a bit of walking carrying our bags but was very reasonably priced. …
A.
The price was reasonable, but the room was tiny. My wife and I could barely move around the bed. Not much clearance. But we only stayed for the night to catch our flight back to the US. I found the price of the other hotels to be quite high …

The hotel is immaculately clean and well presented. The staff are warm, helpful and go out of their way to make you feel like an old friend. The food at breakfast was well presented, delicious and plentiful. The location of the hotel is …

good accommodation but the hotel needs double glazing for there windows as the noise from outside made it impossible to sleep. We were on the 7th floor but we got moved to the 5th floor for the next 2 nights slight improvement but double glazing is all that's needed.
A.
Stayed in this hotel first few nights after a long flight. The staff was very nice and helpful. The room itself is pretty tiny but taking into account the price you pay its a pretty good value for money.
A.
Our stay has been pleasant. The room is always clean and tidy. The staff were marvelous, accommodating, respectful. We are most likely be booking the same hotel in the future.
A.
The location is fantastic for accessing the main parts of the city and the staff are very knowledgeable regarding how to get around. As my stay was primarily business orientated, the staff suggested some of Auckland's sights that would fit …

I was looking at a budget hotel for a last minute booking in Auckland for a one night stay and after wading through reviews of some disturbing establishments in town, I came across the EconoLodge. I booked a double room as I prefer to have …
A.
We got this room with our Fly Buys so it was free. As it was free we were happy. It was a great location. The room was tiny and we could barely walk around the bed but we didn't spend much time there. The staff were very nice and helpful

Decent budget hotel in the Auckland CBD. Walking distance to plenty of sights/precincts for dining and etc. I suppose due to safety concerns all but one of the windows was nailed shut. This is probably not usually an issue, but it was …

If you want an affordable place to stay that doesn't cut corners this is the place to stay. After finding it hard to find a place in the CBD I came across this place and I have to say it was great. Service was good and friendly, the room …

OK so the room was really small... That is reflected correctly in the price. But for location cleanliness, friendliness and amenities... Simply wonderful. Parking easy. Will stay again and again. Can't be beaten value for money and friendly service.

This Econo Lodge was located in an excellent location right downtown. We loved that there were restaurants within a few minutes walk. Plus so pleased to see the Sky Bus stop almost right at the door! Beautiful stained glass ceilings in …

This hotel is in a great situation, close to airport shuttle and the delights of Auckland. The rooms are clean and small, but that is absolutley fine as so little time is to be spent in them.TV reception good and service is excellent. The …
A.
I found the EconoLodge surprisingly comfortable. Reviews had been mixed, so I chose a room with aircon on that basis. It was relatively quiet and I felt safe - I was a lone traveler seeing a late show. It was good value for money and in a good location for me.
A.
The room was small, but very clean and comfortable. Location was ideal, but could be a little bit noisy at times (traffic noises, not enough to keep me awake and I am a light sleeper). Beds were very comfortable. …
A.
Room was compact and tidy. Essentials were covered with no extras. City/road noise came in through the closed windows. This was however central Auckland and we could hear the pedestrian buzzer throughout the night. Overall we had a comfortable bed and privacy. We got what we paid for cheap accommodation in the centre of town.
A.
This hotel provided all we required. Bed, coffee making facilities, bath room and toiletries. Although the room was small it was in a good location. It is within an easy walk of the ferries, under city buses, Sky bus for the air port and a supermarket.
A.
This hotel is in a great location, a short stroll to Victoria Park and also the Civic and skycity. Very handy to the cbd and bus stops to access other shopping destinations. …
A.
The hotel was functional, but not pretty. Staff was friendly and responsive. Wifi worked fine. Location is prime. …

Small rooms but good value for what is offered in Auckland, NZ. Very friendly and helpful staff, good cleaning and generous refilling of coffee and tea bugs, drining water, milk for coffee. Everything you need I'd in the room, ironing, hair dryer, kettle, heater. Free WiFi which is not common in cheap hotels. Definitely will use again.
B.
The hotel is very central, comfortable, clean and quiet, albeit basic. The staff is friendly, efficient and very helpful. Desk staff and access are available 24 hrs. Breakfasts are very good. Local and intercity transport is very handy …

Super helpful staff at the reception, clean rooms and nice facility in general. The rooms are a little small but that's also reflected in the prices. Would definitely stay here again :)
A.
Great hotel in centre of Auckland. Rooms are small but excellent value for price and clean and comfortable. The staff are always welcoming and helpful. All of this and the added benefit of discounted parking at Crown plaza makes the Econolodge my preferd place to stay in Auckland.
A.
Economical and comfortable. Standard rooms somewhat small.
Good breakfast, especially liked cooked breakfast to order rather than stewed in a warmer. …
A.
We stay here each time we visit Auckland. The price and location are fantastic (one block away from Sky City) and parking is at a more than reasonable price. …
A.
I enjoyed my brief stay. Only stayed one night as I came up for a concert. It was very handy were it was sited. The staff were friendly and helpful. I liked I could of had breakfast as well
A.
Good location. Very clean and lovely place. Excellent staff. But didn’t like the mattress and the noises you can hear at night from the windows. But I can’t Sleep when there is a noise Whatever is it. So the price is fine for the place.
A.
It's located close to the main street in Auckland. There are some restaurants and shops near there.
Reception staff was very kind and friendly. …

Hotel staff were great, very pleasant. We travelled two adults, two kids and were given a room with a seperate room with queen bed and two singles in main room. Barely any moving space and a huge beam/pole ceiling to floor in the middle of …

Good sized comfortable room with air con. Was right beside the street but it wasn't noisy at all-though it was a Sunday night. Bathroom was clean. Little fridge, tea&coffee making facilities- all the usual. Really good for being so central

Large room and bathroom. Desk, table and chairs, couch etc and still room to spare!
Would've liked a little more luggage storage space. …

It has bêen a few years since I overnighted at the Econo Lodge in central Auckland.
This place is very centrally situated being only a short stroll down to Queen Street which is the backbone of Auckland.
There are bus stops almost at every turn and the ranks of taxis are very keen to take you anywhere you want to go.
A little further up Queen Street is the marshalling point for those wishing to travel to Auckland's airports, both national and international.
This is a $20:00 one way ride in a comfortable bus with a duration of about 45 minutes but can be much longer at peak traffic times.
Having got you safely out of the city lets come back and consider what Econo Lodge has to offer.
As the name suggests this is not part of the Hilton group of hotels but it does offer good solid accomodation in well maintained smallish rooms with a view.
The rooms are equipped with the usual amenities including hairdryer, iron, and tea and coffee making facilities to uplift the weary traveller.
The rooms, corridors, elevators reception and dining areas are immaculately presented, the hotel having recently been carefully refurbished.
The reception staff are very courteous and anxious to assist with any problems you may have.Nothing seems to phase them,I know because I tried.
A good breakfast with options is offered.
This place says position, location and unmatched value for money.
This place just seems to get better as the years go by.
I have never been disappointed any time I have stayed.
A.
Overall the hotel met our expectations. The room was small and comfortable, the bathroom with shower was outstanding, and the location was convenient to restaurants and sights in central Auckland. The transit construction in the area was …
A.
A comfortable place to stay in a great location for a reasonable price. There is some city noise (I was on the third floor) and there is ongoing construction work on one side. It is not the fanciest hotel by any means, but they make the …

Small rooms, but cosy... Clean and neat bathroom.. the bed was a bit too soft for me.. i prefer firm mattresses.. room had an iron and ironing board as well... 1 issue is that the walls r too thin, so noise passes easily. In terms of location, this place is good... Jus a few steps away from queens street..

We stayed at the hotel for 3 days and we were so pleased we found it. Good value for the money we paid. Great location, rooms very clean, friendly staff. We want to give special mention to Dana and Karan, they both showed outstanding customer service and assisted us every time we needed.
Next time we visit Auckland we would go back there for sure.
A.
I knew the rooms were small, but I am disappointed after several trips and a few years old and the rooms it is imperative to refurbish them and especially redevelop the bathroom. …

Average and economical accommodation option in central Auckland. Preferable for short stay. They also have decent breakfast option.
Location is the main advantage for this place. You get restaurants, pubs and even movie theatre, with IMAX near this place.
Room size small & compact.
A.
Arrived Saturday afternoon. Staff very friendly and efficient. The room was small but for the room rate it was great. If you are looking for somewhere to sleep and aren't going spend lots of time in your room, this hotel is perfect. It's …
C.
Central location, perfect for tourists. Within walking distance from CBD attractions. Small rooms, not great for long business stays. Walls are thin, so if you have loud neighbours, you will hear them. Staff were fantastic and helpful
A.
We enjoyed our stay in this budget hotel once we got over the fact that the rooms were so small that we couldn't keep our suitcases open. That didn't matter as much as expected because they were very clean and the afternoon sun that we got …

You can't judge a book by it's cover. The lobby looks very nice but the rooms do not reflect the quality - this is definitely a budget hotel. The room I was in was clean enough but the mirror was mouldy/corroded. The room didn't even have a fridge. However, if all you are after is a bed then you're fine.
A.
Great stay, extremely comfortable beds and also fantastic air conditioning. Only thing to note was that the shower almost flooded the bathroom (partly our fault!) and there was no wheelchair access that we could see. Other than that a very pleasant stay and great value!
A.
Stayed here for 3 nights. Overall a pleasant stay but probably still a little on the pricey side as the rooms are very small. It is right in the city though (5min walk to SkyTower) which is very convenient. Do be advised that they do not have their own carpark but share with a company and charge $22 for 24 hours. Would recommend.
A.
I was in the city for a late business meeting and function. As I preferred to socialise with friends in the evening I was not able to drive and living some 100 km out of the city public transport or a taxi was not a viable option given the …
A.
Reception was good and all the staff including cleaning and maintenance, if you have kids with you just understand that rooms are not suitable for them although upto 2 childs of less than 12 years are free with every couple.
A.
We arrived VERY early (9.15am) and although we only asked the Receptionist if you could leave our bags their until we could check in at 2pm, she managed to check us in immediately! Wow! A first for us! The room was big and the bed was huge and it was amazingly comfortable. Not a noisy area. Close to the CBD. Great service! Will be back.
