My family and I have just completed our MIQ stay here and I have been incredibly impressed with everything. We have been spoilt with amazing food, always giving us three options for every meal and 5 star quality. Anything we've needed help with, everyone here has gone above and beyond to help. The staff here are very polite and kind, which makes all the difference in these scenarios. Everyone involved here has done an amazing job and we are so grateful for everything. Thank you for making our stay awesome. Couldn't recommend highly enough.
Thanks again Team, you guys are amazing!

We stayed 2 weeks here for the quarantine. The room is new and clean and the food was very delicious. The food choices included the most famous dishes over the world. Particularly the Asian food options, it made our stay really enjoyable and always look forward to our meals. The meals are always warm too.
The hotel is located in the CBD at the bottom of Queen Street with a sea view if you stay in the higher floors.

Just completed 7days quarantine here. The room was small but clean and comfortable. Ample food and found no need to order in. A very big thank you to each and every friendly staff member who were a pleasure to speak with and the highlight of my stay.

Have just spent my 2 weeks in managed isolation here. The staff have been respectful, polite and I know they work hard to keep the hotel and all the occupants healthy and safe. I have enjoyed the meals and looked forward to these each day. While some meals could have been hotter, they were still nutritious. It must be difficult keeping food hot and also delivering these to all floors.
The fresh zones were a bit small. But once again I realize that the hotel is in the cbd of Auckland, where space is scarce. I could still get a daily walk in.
Thanks again to everyone for making my stay less stressful.

This is my last night here at The Grand Mercure Auckland after 13 days in managed isolation.
I would like to say a huge thank to everyone here, the staff, Nurses, Defence force and Security.
Certainly not much fun being in isolation for 2 weeks but easier with everyone helping out.
The service and support has been excellent and the food really lovely.
My room was clean and comfortable with seaviews.
The shower was fantastic!!
How blessed we all are to be back in NZ.
I can’t wait to go home tomorrow.
Please pass on my gratitude to everyone.

Just finished a 14 day MIQ stay and all the support staff were excellent. Staying in MIQ is hard enough but having such great support from all the pleasant staff made the stay manageable.
The food was great especially all the different Asian dishes added to the menu was very tasty.
Any extra requests were attended to very quickly and any information was readily available from all staff.
The room I had was lovely and clean and seeing the Sky Towers each day was really nice having being away from NZ for many years.
A.
Nice hotel but room I was staying was bit small for two people. Food is nice.
H.
The staff, the food, the room. I was in isolation after returning to NZ. I was so grateful to be staying in Auckland. Then everything else was the cherry on top. Not easy being in isolation, however the staff and the food made it so much easier.. They've been brilliant, can't praise them enough.
K.
My MIQ experince was very good here apart from hotel wifi. You have to have book walk ins
L.
Fantastic MIQ experience in the Grand Mercure Hotel, Aux. Lovely clean room & bathroom with oh so comfortable bed. Staff so attentive, pleasant & helpful. Thankyou so much

Every1 Has Been Amazing
Especially On The Recent Loss Of My Dad, Being Here Alone Has Been Hard Enough, But The Support I Have Been Given Is So Overwhelming . I Got Flowers 💐 From The Team And Would Like Thank You All So Very Much For Your Kind Thoughts

From China to stayed here for the quarantine. Big room and great bed. Can't fault a thing. The food is not such good, no Asian food and same menu!
Staff are super helpful. While the WiFi completely rubbish:)

Very comfortable rooms, friendly staff and good services

Currently in day 13 of quarantine, my last night here. I got a room on 9th floor with ocean view. Massive king size bed, a small fridge and a kettle for tea/coffee making. Very clean and comfortable. Windows do not open but excellent air conditioning. No/very little outside noise due to not facing the main road and in high floor. Size wise I find the room a little cozy - not enough space for stretching. Staff are friendly. The foods are good except in few occasions delivery got delayed and meals got cold. Wi-fi is excellent in my room. No problem streaming Netflix or Youtube in FHD. I checked the speed averages at 3Mbps.
I'm quite happy that I may come back when the Covid19 is over.

Currently in Quarantine. First time I've stayed here and especially coming from Australia not knowing what to expect. But OMG first time I stepped into my room, Everything so far has been great. Not only has my stay been great, But I'm so impressed with how everything is organised. Staff are so nice and helpful. Has made my trip enjoyable throughout. I appreciate every worker that is here making everything work.
J.
Worked there whilst it was an MIF Found it to be very clean, well appointed and within easy walking distance in CBD

Undergoing managed isolation so not representative of normal service in any way. Staff are helpful & friendly. Food is....ok at best, the room is clean & comfortable though the toilet cistern leaks & recycles constantly. The WIFI is dial up slow. I am confident that it's much better in more normal times.
A.
Strange times. 2 week stay here in quarantine. Nice hotel. Nice room. Super comfy bed..food was tasty but small portions. Wifi was complete rubbish in my room and there wasn't much interest in fixing it..in different times id probably moved rooms.
Would i stay again....yep

This place is awesome. Nice room, great location and wonderful staff. Also, the food and drinks are superb! I’m so grateful I was placed here for quarantine. Hopefully business picks up once the pandemic is over - the team here has done so well and deserve all the praise they’ve received!
R.
My stay here is because the hotel is being used as a covid-19 Managed isolation facility. The food is great, but my stay was made easy and pleasant by the hotel staff, front and back of house. Theyre some of the most beautiful people I've encountered. The nurses, Security Staff and Army personnel stationed here were likewise fabulous. Checking out today!
Thanks so much! 💓

Hotel is good with nice staff. Good price for hotel in cbd Auckland(behind is waterview with plenty bars, pubs, clubs and restaurants. Unfortunatelly it is used atm for quarantine which some people will have bad memory of it. Keep good work!
J.
Stayed here for the duration of quarantine. Great sized room and bed. Can't fault a thing. The food is incredible!
Staff are super helpful.

I am in quarantine. The food is amazing!!!🧁 Must eat is their little cup cakes, not sure what the icing is. It's to die for!!! My favourite cake since i was little is bananna cake and they also serve it too🥰 I must write I do love the Coconut porridge candied walnut, black plum, cocoa and Moroccan spiced Akaroa salmon, 🥑Smashed avocado with whipped feta, Dukkah, toasted sourdough. I totally love the lamb dinner!!! I do have a soft spot for the Belgium waffle. The bedroom is very clean and the shower is just like mine at home. Seeing the shower made me appricate and love my house a little more. I'm a little spoilt as I got a room with 2 beds. I had secretly hoped for room with a bath as i dont have a bath at home. I cannot complain as the view is amazing, 🌃I'm on the 11th floor and can see sky tower which I was excited about seeing. I could never afford to stay at a place like this so it's a real treat!!! My sleep shedule is terrible and it's nice to be able to take time and get adjusted to nz time zone⏰🌞🌬. I cannot wait to get out of here as my daughter on school holidays and I will only end up seeing her for a week.5 I believe. She heads back to boarding school. I can see why this place is 5 star with the chef 👨🍳👩🍳and staff, location this hotel has. The little stick that was put my up nose to test for covid wasnt as bad as I expected. I have anxiety with the thought of people poking my face (A dentist is love-hate seeing the eye dr) was stressing me out. I felt glad to see little kids have it done just before my turn and they didnt boo, squirm so I realised it cannot be that bad never the less I was almost biting my tongue. I had heard its painful. It wasnt at all. Nurse did a excellent job.

Wonderful hotel conveniently positioned in Auckland’s CBD making it perfect for accessing the city’s culture, shopping and entertainment scene. Our room was stylish, clean and comfortable although we did have to evacuate the building twice because of a false fire alarm - better safe than sorry but at 1:30 a.m., it wasn’t the greatest experience. The staff handled the situation professionally and efficiently. Breakfast at the Grand Mercure is a buffet style at the Vue restaurant on the 13th floor and is totally worth it!l the food selection was incredible and there were many GF options for my wife who is Coeliac and we were so impressed with the helpful staff, particularly Rayon, who went above and beyond to make our breakfast experience extra special.
N.
A very comfortable stay in a well appointed room. Stayed on the 11th floor facing city side -- high enough up to dampen the noise from Customs Street below, and with an excellent view of the SkyTower and cityscape. All of the staff were absolutely lovely.
A.
Great location if you're catching ferry the next day :-) spacious clean rooms and modern atmosphere. Near enough to city if you wanted to explore. I love how polite and warm the service is here. There is a gym here. I would've given it 5 stars if there was a swimming pool but overall a great hotel. (Daughter was impressed with the golden stuff here lol) Very pleasant for Auckland.
M.
I can't thank the Team at Grand Mecure enough for my time with them for my Hotel quarantine after recently returning home from overseas.
The room was lovely, the food was much better than I expected & the Staff were always polite & friendly.
Nothing was too much trouble & I felt safe & well taken care of during this crazy time - so thank you!
J.
Loved the place. The rooms are quite big. Beds were comfortable. Food did not disappoint (as expected from an Accor Hotel). Lovely staff, specially the ones in their main dining area located at the top of the hotel, which by the way had a great view of the nearby harbor. Great location. Lots of shops and good food around the area. Would love to stay here again

Good communication prior to arrival. We were greeted by pleasant, helpful staff at reception.
The refurbished reception area and new bar are a significant improvement, as are the new lifts.
The remodelled rooms are a great improvement over what they used to be and are very pleasant to stay in. The new communications technology and TV system in the room are excellent.
The level of friendliness and courtesy of the service in the 13th floor bar and at breakfast in the dinning room has markedly improved, resulting in a far more pleasant experience.
Because of its excellent location, we have stayed in this hotel on many occasions since long before it was owned by the AccorHotels Group, even though, up until now, we have regarded it as somewhat mediocre. Its refurbishment and upgrade to a Grand Mercure with its higher standards in every respect has greatly improved the experience of staying there, to the point that is now a real pleasure. Our congratulations to all the staff and management.
I have no reservations in recommending this hotel to anybody looking for a well located, mid-range hotel with great service and excellent rooms.

I can say that now I'm back in quarantine in Sydney intercontinental the Grand Mercure exceeded the food and service 10 fold, they even took us out for isolation walks and had an outdoor smoking area. Took us 2 hrs to get in our rooms due to the lack of staff in the intercontinental only to find out we couldn't leave our rooms for 14 days. I wish I could take the $3000 fee from the intercontinental and pay the Grand Mercure instead, they deserve it. Thank you GM
I.
The staff are incredibly gracious- from check in to room service to breakfast hostess- they should all be commended. Not only do they make sure all needs are met they take a personal interest in guests. The renovations are impeccable and the chill space on the open deck was welcomed by our large group for a catch up. Breakfast had many options for those with dietry requirements above and beyond what you come to expect with a buffet when travelling. Amenities in the rooms are lovely. Quality of bedding superb. Highly reccomend!

An update on a previous review which I can't seem to edit. I'm 12 days in to my mandatory qurantine period of 14 days. It's not riveting being in lockdown, but it's definitely been made pleasant and easy by the staff. I wanna give a special shout-out to the beautiful cleaning staff who smiled cheerfully while cleaning up after people left, the awesome restaurant staff for the fabulous menu, the Nurses who were very kind and the Army, Aviation Security, bus drivers and the Police who took care of us. A tedious experience was made less so by the Hotel staff in particular. You all rock. Proud to be a kiwi!
M.
Beautiful place. The staff are warm and friendly and will do everything they can to assist you. The rooms are impeccable, clean, warm with your every request already catered for to the highest standard and the views from the restaurant are nothing short of breathtaking.
I hope to stay there again on my next visit

hosted my brothers wedding reception at the vue restaurant. We are SO happy with how everything went on saturday night, we couldnt have asked for more friendlier and supportive staff. Out of all 8 events for my sister and brothers wedding, grand mercure had the best service. Without Min, and the other hotel staff, there is no way i would have been able to set the venue up so nicely. My parents are really happy too! the guests absolutely loved the food, people were going in for 3rd or 4th time because it was so yummy! thank you very much to Abhi in the sales department and the entire grand mercure team - highly reccomended!

We had a very pleasant stay in your hotel - staff were happy & helpful.
Although the room was small it was comfortable, clean & practical - we did not need anything bigger.
Our only complaint was the noise from boy races & partying down on the street - a room on the other side of the hotel might be a better option. The bed & pillows were extremely comfortable ensuring that we should have had a perfect night sleep - unfortunately we didn't get much sleep at all. (Maybe a complementary set of earplugs next to the bed would help :D)
Overall we loved our weekend away, the view from the 13th floor was spectacular, especially when enjoying a good breakfast.

Shed 10 where our ship will dock is literally two blocks away. Great restaurants close by. Wonderful buffet breakfast. The entire hotel is so clean that it sparkles. We came in at 1:00am from a long flight and the person at the desk was very kind and helpful.

Stayed there for just 2 nights in March and hence this is not really an in-depth review. Check in was fast when I arrived in late afternoon and I got room 907. It took a bit of time to get to the room as there were 3 lifts and it seems like the lifts are also used by visitors to the restaurant at the top floor and by employees. The room had greyish stone tiles in the entrance and the bathroom and a thick and soft darker carpet in the rest of the room. There was a desk and chair, a small integrated sofa and a king size bed. The TV over the desk had a decent selection of channels. The desk contained a couple of sockets made for international plugs. Wi-Fi was included and worked fine when I was there and it was also quite fast. The small fridge contained a selection of drinks and a Coke was about 5 NZD. There was also a drawer with selection of snack.
The wardrobe had a few hangers but also included a good iron but an ironing board that was a bit of balance. The robe that was supplied was thick and fluffy. There was also a small safe. There was no master switch for the lights in the room as far as I could tell so I had to switch of every single one at night.
Bathroom was a bit small but had a shower corner of decent size. There were the usual amenities (shampoo, shower gel etc) but they came in bottles that made it difficult to get the soap out. The shower worked fine but it would have been great with more places to hang towels in the bathroom. I had a city view and hence I got a view to Auckland’s famous sky tower.
I did not have breakfast in my reservation, but this was served on the 13th floor and had a lovely view to the Auckland harbor. The location of the hotel was quite good as it was possible to walk to the sky tower but also the harbor area with all the restaurants.
All in all, a good stay. I would have appreciated a better lift situation as there was a bit of waiting to take the lifts. The bathroom would also have been better of there had been a few more hooks to hang towels on.

From start to finish our stay at the Grand Mercure was faultless. As we were getting out of the taxi someone was right there to greet us and help us with our bags, the reception staff were lovely to deal with. The restaurant staff were super helpful as I had a broken leg so they helped me with carrying my plate from the buffet to my table. The room was spacious and clean, the beds were very comfortable. We will be back!!
S.
The staff were extremely welcoming friendly and humble, they were accomodating to my and my groups needs, and looked after us superbly. A special mention to Shri who was especially accomodating to us.
I felt very safe and at home in your hotel, the room and all facilities, was beautiful. I loved the attention to detail, and the soft soft carpet. I had a wonderful view of Auckland, and the window seat was a well thought touch to better enjoy this. The welcome drink was also a lovely thought.
The breakfast was great, and I loved grabbing a coffee and doughnuts from Custom Lane.
Thankyou so much for a wonderful stay.

Everything about my stay was painless, the service from staff was excellent with very smooth check-in and check-out. Food is excellent and very reasonably priced, the rooms must be fairly new as they are cutting edge modern with great technology. It is centrally located close to shops and restaurants, and although there is no on-site parking, it is only a very short stroll to cheap, secure parking. If I had one criticism it would be the free weights in the gym, only dumbbells up to 10kg available, but with two treadmills and a cross-trainer, you can still get a decent session in. Highly recommended, and i will certainly be staying here again.
K.
Stayed here a number of times and its usually first choice. But it slipped a few notches now. Took a long time to check in. I was asked if it was my first time staying here when its easily in the double digits showing they don't really care. The noise in the hotel was exceptionally bad which I had not experienced before. As a business guest I generally use the room as a business centre as their business centre is not great. But my room would not be serviced til after 2pm most days despite putting the make up my room card on the door. Got one free bottle of water the entire time I stayed there and then they tried to charge me for it. So clearly the people servicing the room had stuffed up the count. Though the clerk did wave this fee. Really debated giving this place a two which is a shame as based on past experience it would have got a 4. Won't be staying here again.
A.
Very convenient location, clean, tidy and modern rooms. The restaurant was great with a fantastic breakfast spread and amazing view. It was a bit difficult getting into the car park as a bunch of trade vans blocked the back entrance and it took a good 15 minutes to get through the lights which only let 2 cars go every second rotation. Things that could be improved: the green 'on' light for the aircon is really bright for a small room, the fridge was a bit noisy and outside sound proofing could use a little upgrade.
L.
Stayed one night at grand mecure. Impressive furnishings and decor.. Gorgeous room. Staff are incredibly helpful however considering the price it would be great to have the option of making a fresh coffee in the room with fresh milk not instant and processed milk. The buffet breakfast was OK but cold eggs are not pleasant.
coffee with fresh milk in the room and not instant and uht milk

We had a bit of trouble finding the motel as we didn't feel it was well sign posted. But we did find it.
The guy at check in (we think his name was Raj) was fantastic! After there being no valet parks available he did some calling around and found us a spot (not knowing the area this was an awesome help for us). We were also offered some cool tea when we arrived. We were feeling pretty special!
We absolutely loved the room with the cosy robes and fantastic toiletries. The bed was comfy, the room was warm, the TV was easy to use. We were happy.
However the restaurant wasn't what we were expecting. We arrived while it wasn't too busy but had to wait for service the desk, then waited extended periods between staff seeing us for our order, and then between meals. The menu was a bit funny to read. The food however was yummy (and different!), even though we found it did vary a bit from what was on the menu. Overall dinner was good, but the service let it down.
Breakfast though! WOW. The buffet area was a mess. The coffee machine consistently had a line waiting as it kept breaking down - we ended up getting a flat white from the bar. Many bowls/plates were unfilled, and scraps of food were everywhere. We had to wait for cups and plates, as well as different food options. Again it didn't seem overly busy (just normal busy) so wasn't sure what was going on. The breakfast experience really let down the whole stay really.
So... Overall room and motel staff great. But restaurant a bit of a let down.
R.
This hotel was really great. I had asked for some special requests and they dealt with them amazingly. So friendly and helpful they made our stay very special. The room was great, bathroom especially, great shower gels and shower facility. View was awesome. I have no complaints so I have to give 5 star. I hope they read this review!
M.
Gorgeous hotel rooms, clean and very comfortable.
The skybus stop 12 is right in front making it a breeze to get to.
The location in itself is walking distance from spark arena, Sky Tower and the warf.
Would definately recommend staying here.
M.
First time at the Mercure and I was extremely happy with the overall experience. The Hotel staff were professional and friendly. Nothing was a problem and the Valet was excellent. Even though the foyer was undergoing renovations, there was no inconvenience at all. My room was great, clean, comfortable, awesome Harbour view from the 10th floor - amenities and decor was more than adequate. I would definitely recommend the Mercure and as an Accor Group Member would most definitely stay at the Mercure again on my next trip to Auckland. Thank you!
S.
I stayed one night at the Grand Mercure Auckland by myself as I was boarding a cruise ship the following day. My experience was lovely. I felt very comfortable, safe and was treated well by the staff.
Being alone I was looking for something not too expensive but still nice, private and well presented.
The price was affordable for what you get in my opinion, and the Free Wifi after joining Accorehotels, was super easy and the connection was fast. This is especially helpful because I didn't have phone service and didn't want to pay extra for wifi. The surrounding areas are fine and extremely close to the cruise ship terminal which is directly behind the hotel.

THE hotel in Auckland.
Perfect location in the city center. The Harbour Viaduct is easy to reach and the walk is very pleasant.
The hotel staff is kind and always with a clear smile on their face. Great support from one guy of the staff with red-hair.
The room is well furnished with all comfort and courtesy set. The bed is comfortable and the shower very good start a day.
The breakfast could improve in terms of bakery selection, however the view (especially at the sunrise) compensate for that.
Great stay, I’ll be back there next time I’m in Auckland.
A.
Enjoyed our stay. We were given the room we requested which was great. Comfy beds, helpful and friendly staff. My only complaint was that housekeeping entered our room twice despite having a 'do not disturb' sign on our door. This needs to be respected as we felt like we were being pushed out. Floor had sticky spots all over it. Other that that we had s good time
S.
Great staff, they seemed to love what they were doing and had pride in the hotel. It was a great location and overall a nice hotel. Dinner didn't go so well, steak was poor quality. Also the air conditioning in the room didn't seem to work properly, had it set to 16 degrees and the room stayed too hot. I'd stay again though, they assured me they'd change steak supplier and I'm sure it was a one off.
M.
Great location, friendly, helpful staff, hotel amenities and a clean modern room were the highlights. Poor wi-fi reception, construction debris and noise on our floor and in the lobby were the lows.
My wife and I stayed for 11 days and consequently had quite a lot of baggage. The lack of storage in the room meant we had to lay our bags on the floor and leave most of our clothes packed. A little drawer space would have been helpful.
K.
Our room was lovely the bed was very comfy! Staff were all very pleasant but I will make special mention of Eliza who served us lunch on the Friday and Tim who served us in the bar on the Sunday night... exceptional service from both these lovely people. We always stay here when we visit our son who lives down the road and have never had a bad experience.. wouldn't even consider staying anywhere else.
P.
Despite booking a Superior Room with 1 King Bed, and paying extra for it we were provided a twin room. Never the less it was very comfortable. There was water on the carpet but the housekeeping cleaned that up - we were offered to be moved to another room but chose to stay where we had unpacked. The room was comfortable and convenient. Our best experience was in the View Dining Room where the view on the 13th floor was delightful and the food was superb.Despite the mix up on the booking we would certainly return to the Mercure.
J.
Easy check in, happy staff member, great room, very comfortable.
Saturday dinner was ok, we were served a dish that was not ordered(ordered fish of the day, terakihi, my friend, was served a salmon dish).
Restaurant staff handled the situation very well, no hassles,no discussion,a credit to them.
Ordered a flat white with our dessert, dessert arrived, flat white didn't.
If we hadn't had the food/coffee moment the rating would be higher.
Check out staff, excellent.
Overall, a very happy stay.
A.
Enjoyed staying at the refurbished Grand Mercure Auckland. The ocean view room was quiet, clean, very comfortable and nicely appointed.
We were well looked after throughout our stay. The food was excellent at Vue restaurant located on the 13th floor and Sarah our server was fantastic. We would definitely recommend this Hotel and look forward to returning.
S.
We arrived after a long flight from home. We were greeted promptly. While we were getting ourselves organized the room was cleaned and we were able drop off and freshen up. I had told the hotel and the front desk that today was my mum's birthday and they sent up a birthday card signed by the staff and cake. Very sweet of them to help my mum celebrate!
C.
We booked into a upper corner floor suite with ocean view - the bedroom in a separate room. The room was very nice and well-appointed on the 9th floor. The only disappointment was that the nearby nightclub emptied out at 2.00am and the noise over the next hour or so, even on the 9th floor was unbelievably loud and destroyed what had been a great experience up until that point. We enjoyed a lovely evening meal in Vue restaurant and were looked after really well. Our booking included full breakfast, which was equally as delicious.
N.
The staff were faultless - we had requested twin beds, our room had a king. This was dealt with very professionally. We were moved without any real inconvenience. Our only complaint would be that the sheets used on our twins beds were to small. Both nights both of us ended up sleeping on bare mattress. We travel a lot for business and often share rooms with twin beds, this is the first time we've had this issue. The breakfast was fantastic. I'm gluten free, and it was nice to see that GF donuts were available. Not exactly perfect breakfast food, but a nice naughty treat ( especially when I always have to watch my business partner eat a sneaky pastry 😁)
Keep up the great service, your team is an asset. We'll be back
F.
Perfect location with excellent views of the Auckland harbor. The reception was efficient and friendly, in our room was a hand written card from yhd manager and fresh baked cookies. The turn down service was lovely with mararons on the bedside table. Breakfast at the Vue 13th floor was substantial, the staff were welcoming and remembered our coffee order each morning. I would recommend spending time at this chic inner city hotel. The taxis crowded the valet/bus zone out the front on the main street, which made dropping off difficult.
t.
Great cafe for morning coffee pity not open later. Bed was lovely and comfy. Great view from the bar. Nice and convenient location. Tv was hard to navigate. Limited in house menu. Mini bar was tiny not much tempting selection. Shower head though looked funky had a bad spray. Comfy and enough but not at the price.
M.
The check-in was fast ad efficient, as was the check-out.
Staff were welcoming and friendly .
The glazing did not stop the street noise and as I had requested a quiet room prior to check-in, I was quite disappointed, you almost felt like you were sleeping on the street.
The bed was very comfortable and the pillow options worked. The room temperature was perfect - I hate hot stuffy rooms when you need to sleep, and the air-con was nice and quiet. The bathroom was a big fail the ledge above the sink - tricky and no shelves or storage space for toiletry unpacking - not under the handbasin/vanity. Shower was fine, good pressure and plenty of towels.
C.
Our stay was fantastic. Great room and amazing sky bar. Only slight issue was the work going on from 8.45 with builders making a lot of noise. I guess this is the cost of staying in a brand new refurbished hotel. Also you could smell the new silicone in the room which could have been mistaken for the smell of cigarette smoke.
Would definately stay again, the views of the city were amazing. The bar man in Attica was very friendly, and his espresso martinis were awesome!
J.
Very comfortable
Room compact but had some luxury features
Valet parking arrangements unusual
On 11th floor (city side) but still suffering from road noise
Glad breakfast only cost $1 each because food and service was of a much lower standard than we expected. Also not allowed to sit on harbour side of building. If they have these offers they must ensure that they can service them.
J.
Very nice hotel right in the heart of Auckland's CBD. Excellent staff and very accommodating. There was a city crew using a jack hammer outside at night. Even 11 floors up, the noise was bothersome. After a call to the front desk, they were able to check with the work crew and get things quieted down. Room was great with many amenities. Quality linens and towels. All in all, a wonderful experience.
k.
Was a great stay, friendly staff, beautiful rooms. A few small details were missed with the cleanliness in the room, there were spill marks and rings from glasses on the bedside table (I noticed this when we first walked into the room)The food menu was also a bit of a let down. Other than that it was a great stay, the bar staff were friendly and attentive and the valet staff were great, we didn't ever have to ask for help because they were always on top of it.
D.
I stayed in a superior room. The check in/out was efficient. I was offered and early check in which was welcome. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room was small, similar in size to those I am used to in the Ibis brand, and did not seem to be 32 square meters is size. The room was city side and did not have double glazing, meaning there was some street noise. I did not have breakfast. Lunch and dinner at the hotel were of good quality. The view from the restaurant over the harbour was lovely.
P.
Difficult to arrive with a car it's confusing what to do with it as you check in. The check in process and staff were excellent. The room was very nice albeit a little noisy in the evening as we overlooked Customs street. Lovely gifts when we arrived arranged by the hotel on the request of our children. Dinner on the 13th floor was disappointing and we were grateful that we are Accor Advantage Plus members to only pay half price. Overall hotel experience was that we had a lovely time, staff were very good and hotel was nice.
C.
I went for a meal the Irish bartender immediately made my waters break I wasn't even pregnant if you know what I mean. The staff were super helpful they immediately attended to my needs and put a wet floor sign in my vicinity. The bartender was then kidnapped by the yakuza at that point I was scared and became dry yet the service remained impeccable. Overall would reccomend to everyone. Even the yakuza were impressed with the venue. Great venue overall, they even put toilets in the cocaine room

From on-line check in through to check out we dealt with positive professional staff who went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. My daughters birthday was acknowledged and celebrated. Our room was clean, tidy, comfortable and relatively well stocked with supplies (only decaffeinated coffee sachets were provided which was a slight issue). We were particularly grateful to the gentleman at Vue where we went for breakfast - he went out of his way to find an ocean view table and to manage my forgetting my Accor card.
A.
Reception staff was friendly and quick. They supported and offered proper options and alternatives. Friendly floor staff. Beat and tidy rooms. Good hygiene and cleanliness in and around the hotel. Food options were limited. Good business center at 6th floor.
J.
The staff were extremely helpful and obliging with any of our requirements.and we found the restaurant and bar on the top floor had all that we required in the way of meals and refreshments.. With the comfort of the beds and the decor we found that we both slept extremely well. The hotel is so well located for both the train, ferry and bus services that we had no problems commuting to our desired locations. Over all a very satisfactory visit to the City of Sails!
M.
Everything was excellent, from my first phone contact with Kara to check in on arrival and the service of staff at the restaurant. Even your cleaner who happened to be in the lift, thanked us for staying with you and wished us safe travels. The rooms are so well appointed and comfortable. Our only negative feedback was regarding the meal in the restaurant. We were tired and hungry after a long day traveling. The food was not value for money. The portion size was ridiculously small, the Venison, according to your chef should have been 160gm serve however I have some experience in food serving sizes and this would have been not more than 90gms. It was over cooked as was the fish, also small portion. We did give feedback and were not charged for some drinks. We spoke to the chef at the time who was an Indian man. He did listen and apologize.

Great hotel to stay in. Right in the heart of the city. Was also upgraded to a Junior suite room upon check in so make sure your an accor member to benefit. Bar is on the roof top and offers magnificent dazzling unprecedented views across the harbour.
S.
Enjoyed the modern rooms with nice big TV . Rooms are little small but very fresh with excellent decor. $1 breakfast on the top floor with a view. Really a great incentive to come back for a stay in central auckland. Parking a factor to price in as there is none so add $20. Value for money 8/10.
S.
I arrived late on a Sunday night from a flight from Sydney. I received a very warm reception. The valet parking went very smoothly. My room on the 11th floor was quiet and well appointment with attention to detail in the fit out and the little sweet treats that had been left for me. Breakfast on the 13th floor overlooking the harbour was beautiful, sitting in the sunshine with a magnificent food and a tasty breakfast with good coffee.
P.
Checked in smoothly and got a nice card from the hotel staffs and a cheesecake to mark a lovely start to our honeymoon!
Great location close to the harbour and right in town close to all the great cafes and restaurants.
Comfortable beds and especially love their shampoo/bodywash selection (hint:manuka honey being a main ingredient in their products)
J.
The hotel is nice, well decorated and modern. The rooms are also modern but somewhat tiny, even the upgraded. The staff is prompt on helping but it lacks resources, very noticeable by the breakfast and internet, both services unstable and very basic. The breakfast for ie when something is short it wont be replaced, even if it just started. On my next visit I'll look for a different option.
P.
Sorry, have to say it straight up, This Is A Nice Hotel, very convenient to everything in the city, transport hubs (Ferry and Train stations); Restaurant Precinct( Viaduct Harbour); City shopping; Spark Arena and Skycity Casino all within easy walking distance. We had a rental car, however it was parked up for entire three day stay, until 15 minutes before we departed for Rotorua.
Restaurant had great options for breakfast and great views. And yes our room was right Outside/opposite lift doors, but no one disturbed us, nor the lifts. Room had good view over City and Sky Tower.
Pamela in Housekeeping looked after our room and provided a personal touch with little notes of welcome and daily greetings. Great idea. We'll return for certain. Everyone we encountered in hotel, were friendly and helpful, Congratulations Mr Zac Lumsden, Hotel G M., you have a great team.
S.
We had a great stay here. Very central location, nice clean rooms, Nespresso coffee, comfortable bed, nice shower. They were especially accommodating with keeping some of our bags for a few hours and some for several days, even though we only stayed one night. Reasonably priced valet too.
M.
Awesome newly refurbished rooms. Restaurant is high quality and not over priced with a beautiful Harbour view. Took the whole family and our stay was great. This hotel really knows how to look after Accor Plus members. Rooms were so affordable. Highly recommended for business, family getaway etc.
K.
A very nice stay with lots of amenities. Very helpful staff held our bags while we grabbed lunch on our checkout day and helped my wife to the car with those bags. Only complaint is that the taxis fill the loading zone parking spots for the hotel and don't move, forcing us to have to back into traffic on Customs from the hotel drive
D.
The rooms and location are very nice. The breakfast staff was particularly kind and helpful.
Parking is a bit of a mess in this area, I'd recommend leaving your car with the hotel valet vs parking on your own (or just don't bring a car). I would stay here again if we found ourselves in Auckland in the future.
L.
Nice rooms, really good staff. A really pleasant experience staying there. The only issue is they a building some sort of mall next door so it can be a little noisy during the day, but that is not a fault of the hotel. Great stay worth the money.
J.
Very poor sound sealing. We can hear every bit of the construction starting before 5am on the road outside, and people yelling on the street on Friday and Saturday nights through to the small hours of the morning. Otherwise the hotel itself is ok.
K.
Outstanding. I wanted a good location hotel, and remembering the old Novotel decided this would do primarily due to location.
BUT, WOW, with the revamp to Grand Mercure I love this place.
Bed might have been the best i have slept in ever. Room detailing fantastic.
And combine that with the always fantastic restaurant, this was a great stay.
i.
Great location, very nice welcome from carla on reception she was extra helpful & friendly esp with my 3 children. The room decor was fresh clean modern. Beds/pillows were comfortableThe toiletries etc were fantastic things like the toothbrush/toothpaste just were little extra things that were appreciated.
M.
We enjoyed our stay at the Mercure and would definitely return. Found out about the $5 room service charge after being informed the second time we got room service. The restaurant was a bit overpriced but it was great with good service. The wifi was slow, but free if you stay a certain amount of days, but only for 3 devices at the same time (which is a bit tough for a 4 person reservation). We had a really random wet patch in our room that grew, we informed staff 3 times before finally it got passed onto the manager who came and investigated himself. The workers were supposed to come and fix it, and they clearly came while we were out but didn't fix it and left a bit of a mess. Other then that we really enjoyed our stay and found the overall experience and price very reasonable.
F.
Your staff were exemplary (some of them may remember me as the weird British guy with the broken foot!). They made me feel very welcome after a rough day and gave me a good handle on my surroundings as well as engaging me in conversation when I passed through the lobby, which was lovely. The rooms were very comfortable and the bathroom was lovely. My only issues were a bit of noise due to my room being opposite the lift system and I was quoted three different prices when I came, the final price being £70 more than the original. I will be travelling to Aukland a few times over the coming months and while I may investigate other options I certainly will keep the Grand Mercure in mind. My thanks to the staff there, who were wonderful.
Regards,
Tristan Horsell

Fairly average upscale hotel near the harbour in Auckland. Rooms are on the small to average size with air conditioning and heating individually controlled. Decent high speed wireless Internet is free for hotel guests. Rooms are contemporary , with modern furnishings, kept quiet clean. Hair dryer, hot water cooker, mini-refrigerator, and safe are standard in all rooms. 13th floor restaurant, bar, and lounge sitting area are top-notch if a bit expensive. Great views from this level. Friendly and helpful staff but you will need to use the Internet for concierge services.
J.
Usually when in Auckland I stay at the Pullman nearby at the top of the hill, however it was full so stayed at the Grand Mercure for 3 nights in December 2017. First of all the positives, the location is great for the heart of Auckland and the waterfront, the ferry terminal is close by and there is plenty to see and do. Rooms were clean, if a bit poky and the bathroom was modern with a great shower.
The room I stayed in had twin beds which were a bit on the small side, the sheets did not fit properly so by the morning had all come untucked - rather annoying. There was a lot of loud music outside until 4am on the Friday and Saturday nights - not the hotel's fault but worth knowing if you want to get a good nights rest.
The breakfast room on the top floor has great views across the waterfront and city but struggles to cope with the number of people using it, and was woefully understaffed on the Sunday, after being shown to a table it was 25 minutes before it was cleaned and laid up despite asking three times, there were no cups or plates and various food items had run out. The coffee machine is over complicated leading to a huge queue which is frustrating if all one wants is some hot water to make tea.
Perhaps if I had stayed at a quieter time I would have given the hotel four stars but with the experience I had I won't be rushing back.
N.
Nice new rooms and some very fun querky extra bits such as a library and yoga room meant I'll definitely come back. However a number of the other guests were quiet loud while I was there. It's definitely a place is recommend.
C.
The reception staff were polite and friendly. We were pleased to have our junior suite upgraded on arrival. The executive suite was clean and modern with a partial harbour view. The room telephone was not connected as there was no wall point for it. We reported this to the reception 3 times during our 3 nights' stay, but was never resolved, also no one got back to follow up on this matter. It was rather inconvenient without phone communication with hotel services as well as friends trying to reach us.
There was also drilling and hammering noises from renovation on the floor above during the morning and day.
J.
Very nice hotel with a good location and high class service. Rooms are nice and everything makes you feel like it's a top class hotel. Only down side is that it's close to the drinking scene which gets loud on the weekend, being woken up at 4am to screaming people in the streets 7 floors below was not great.
w.
I had a fantastic time staying here! Being new to Auckland and this being my last night in New Zealand The location and all around treatment here was great!
Julia at the concierge was beyond helpful on my last day. My flight being so late and my checkout early she checked my bags until I was ready to leave for my flight and explore the city without the burden of my bags. She also gave me really great food and location suggestions including mount Victoria which was stunning! Thanks a ton Julia!
D.
Great view and great location. Unfortunately had a terrible experience, the air-conditioning system on our level stopped working in the middle of our week's stay. Despite informing the staff several times and talking to manager on duty we didn't get any response. On the final night of our stay we got offered to be shifted to another level or we could be provided with a portable heater as it was amidst winter.
S.
I stayed here before the hotel had a face lift and it certainly was looking tired. But this stay I must say - what a difference some TLC makes. The renovations give the hotel a whole new feel. This hotel is in a great spot to go and do things and has many restaurants and bars in close walking distance.
Although our room was small, it had everything you would want.
B.
Good location next to the train station and ferry. Early check-in experience was terrible though and they didn't have our room an hour after early check-in officially started which meant we couldn't shower after our long flight before having to go to the office. Also paid $40 NZD for 7 days of "premium" internet, but there was nothing premium about it.
L.
Wifi is so incredibly spotty throughout the hotel, it makes it difficult just to write this review, overall rooms were cleaned and well maintained, but in a day of modern age, it is quintessential to have a connection that can support multiple people. Staff was kind and helpful
T.
This hotel is my all time favourite! Have been back multiple times since the first visit and every time it is just amazing. Even got engaged here on my birthday this year. Mercure will always be my favourite hotel. Can't wait to come back again in January!
J.
Staff were great from Valet to reception to restaurant. Room was great except for the sliding door which appeared to jump off its track. They sent a maintenance person to fix it but it was still difficult for us to open and close. Informed reception at checkout. Apart from that everything was fine.
M.
Nice Hotel, nice rooms with a good view. Good location. Nice with USB contacts.
We had booked a tour to Hobbiton, and our tourguide/ tourprovider had called the Hotel several tines to confirm it. We asked in the reception if we had to confirm, or if the touragency had left any messages for us. The answer was no, we asked twice. We finally teached the tourprovider ourself, we where both frustrated over the lack from the Hotel here.
Sad that this Hotel not can provide free Wifi. It is possible to pay, but then limited. We have been travelling alot around the world, why should this be an issue anymore? Others have no problem providing free Wifi. We used mc Donalds highspeed free Wifi around the corner, pity for a big Hotel like Mercure.
k.
We enjoyed our mystery night stay at the Mercure Hotel in Auckland City. The location was excellent with access to services, and shops.
Our room was adequate, not plush by any means, but warm with everything in working order, with a window that opened, and a great city view.
The view from the restaurant was awesome, loved the music that was in the background, staff were attentive, and generous, the food was superb with a fab buffet breakfast in the morning.
Thank you, we will be back!
Karen & Gary Young
Y.
Great place and nice service, but a bit noisy, bc it’s near night club, some drinkers yelling, even I stayed at level 7 still can hear their drunken conversation.
one of front desk is Taiwanese girl, she is so nice and recommended us some food to buy. It’s really good
N.
Our window view for 714 was out onto Customs St East where there's lots of daytime road works at present. Take earplugs if you like to rest during the day
Our room was small but enough for us, bathroom was comparatively large.
Under the TV there is an HDMI port and two power sockets if you want to view your own laptop content on the screen.
Hotel is located close to Britomart, ferry wharf and 20m to Skybus first/last stop on the route to airport.
Friendly staff at reception even when super busy. Turn down staff left us 2 macarons and 2 water bottles each night on bedside table.
J.
Went to this hotel to meet for the Lord of the Rings tour. Staff were friendly and very helpful even though we were not staying at we at the hotel as guests. Decor is very bright and colourful. There is cafe attached to the hotel in case you wanna grab a quick breakfast.
S.
Your storytellers out at the front were funny and entertaining, however they should not all disappear at the same time as it was confusing trying to figure out where to stop our vehicle/need clearer signs for where to stop. Staff at front desk (Amelia I believe her name was) was extremely helpful and super friendly with checking me in. Rooms were very nicely finished and clean. Nice, clean and cosy. Would stay again if i'm ever in Auckland.
S.
Just did quarantine here. Very comfortable place to be in for it. I won't rate much more than that because obviously the food, service and such wasnt an accurate representation of their norm.
F.
The Grand Mercure is situated right in downtown. We stayed for 5 nights and really enjoyed our holiday. The hotel is modern, well appointed and convenient. The staff are very friendly and effective. The room was quiet and had everything we could ask for.
J.
You have a lovely hotel. Enjoyed staying there.
Only one minor problem was the glass door of the shower did not have a rubber stopper so it allowed the water to completely wet the rug. So i had to throw a lot of towels on the floor.
Overall GREAT!!!
D.
Really enjoyed our stay when we came up for Matilda. Friendly staff on check in and we were allowed to check in early as a room was available which was thoughtful of the front desk staff. A spare bed was brought in with no worries at all. Very clean room and everything we needed available.
A.
Great location central to the town and close to the harbour. Easy to walk around everywhere and they provide bikes (complimentary) to ride around the city. Rooms are a little small but overall our stay was great.
D.
Great food, good menu. We had the snapper to share, salad with chicken and bread + drinks..friendly service. Good views from both towards the skytower and over the harbour. Wasn't very busy but atmosphere was good. Would recommend
T.
I stayed one night in this city to see the sights. I will be back there on my next trip. The service staff at the reception were very accommodating and friendly. The cleanliness of the hotel was great. The traffic is easy to navigate. Good value for standard of hotel.
L.
Fantastic hotel. Great location. Enjoyed my stay. Just difficult for drop off and pickup as it's on the main road and has no designated drop off zone. Gym also very average but does the job.
F.
Room and bed was ok. Bathroom was nice enough. Work is pretty much 200 mt away.. Colleague stayed there a year ago (pre Reno) and got bed bugs.. previous reviews from other colleagues who stayed there pre Reno was not great (never stayed their 2 times back).. I am an Accor gold member so thought would try.. rooms and bed seemed ok.. Staff ok.. Very Asian targeted hotel... from decor and style. The service at restaurant both breakfast and dinner pretty below average... super slow and lax service (particularly at dinner).. super disappointing after awesome service and friendly staff in some of the Australian hotels I stay in. For convince to office would stay again.. but not eat in restureant....
B.
Had dinner yesterday at the Vue restaurant. Amazing view! Staff were super friendly :) The food was actually great as well. Chargrilled steak was huge and so juicy, not overpriced at all. I would definitly come back again.
A.
Well presented room, and I liked the fact that there was USB ports throughout the room, and a quality TV (although a shame that casting Netflix from phone to TV was disabled).
It was a shame to only have 1 bar of WIFI signal throughout the whole room, which is unusable. It is a shame that the hotel can't put a few more hotspots in to provide good signal.
Also the Bedding looked good on initial presentation, but the sheet on the mattress wasn't actually properly on the mattress, so I had to remake the bed before I could sleep in it.
M.
Everything was good except the fact that both in the evening and morning I had no hot water and could not shower. When I informed the front desk he did nothing about it except telling me that it was unfortunate and he had received other complaints. When I asked was that all he was going to do, he advised he would notify his manager. Unacceptable, might as well call yourself Ibis plus. No where near the value of $380 for each room. I had 2 rooms.
C.
Good service. Like the ground floor foyer and bars, well designed to cater for several options. Room was tidy and clean. Great position by the waterfront. Like the Accor card benefits eg free drink, late check out.
S.
The room was great and the service was exellent.
Dinner was over cooked (Venison) and made the dinning experiance disapointing.
My partener siad it wasn't worth the money spent. (dinner)
The breakfast was well orgainised and service was great.
Overall a good stay appart from the Dinner.
M.
Amazing! My family had the best time here and we still talk about the fabulous buffet breakfast. A definite highlight for us! Great location, superb views and friendly staff. I would recommend.
m.
Everyone was professional, friendly and helpful. Also resourceful. It was wonderful to be able to do our own laundry - unique to our experience with staying in several hotels on our trip through Australia and New Zealand. The minor downside was that the television in the yoga studio wasn't working, but everything else was stellar.
J.
Great service: we arrived by car and the parking was solved quickly, bags taken and check in very quick.
Room and bathroom fine if a little small.
Location is fantastic: close to harbour and Queen's St., so easy to walk everywhere.
I definitely recommend it.
P.
Centrally located in CBD
Everything is in walking distance from here.
Breakfast n other restaurants do offer superb views.
Staff is kind and helpful.
Free cycles are available in day time.
Rooms are comfortable and offer good view.
J.
Good receptionists.
Best price I found in Auckland for this service, I was in their Standard room. Very Clean, Nice and spacious room and bath. Kitchenette was fully provided with every cutlery and cookware. plenty of tea and coffee and milk. A/C working soundless and pleasant.
Thank you.
Great Service,
Fare Price.
L.
Breakfast was great, parking was terrible, very difficult to figure out where to park outside of the hotel, then parking was an additional fee, but as we had already done 3 laps of the Auckland CBD I was not going to argue. Room was small but comfortable and quiet.
G.
Excellent stay at the Mercure Auckland. Valet parking and the meals where faultless (the valet driver changed the radio station if I had to be picky). All up very well deserved 5 star rating
A.
13 storey hotel, so good views.
Not too $$$.
Close to transport and food outlets.
Skybus shuttle pickup just down the street.
Bit noisy currently with the underground rail line being built, but should be great one the line is finished.
Minibar available, and only Nzd$50 in credit card preauthorisation.
Would have loved if the hotel rooms had double glazed windows as street noise is still audible.
S.
Highly recommend, can not fault anything. Perfect location if you are doing a Cruise out of Auckland, Buffet breakfast is amazing. Staff go over and beyond to make your stay a great experience.
P.
All the staff we encountered were delightful. Our room was very small, especially the bathroom, but quite adequate for a one night stay. It was clean and comfortable
Enjoyed drinks and food at restaurant.
R.
Couldn't fault service, breakfast buffet fresh and good variety. Rooms comfortable and clean. Staff friendly. Great location, bar and restaurant with fabulous views.
S.
Nice hotel with clean rooms and good views. Very good location for public transportation access. Not the best place if you have a car.
Hotel windows can be opened, which I love.
Staff seemed to be quite indifferent and more interested in getting you on your way, than really helping you. Like asking for help was an annoyance, not the reason that THEY ARE THERE. (And a smile every 3 days or so wouldn't hurt either.)
Plenty of restaurants, bars and small shops in the area.
Proximity to the 'red light district' means that families with children may be uncomfortable here.
M.
Your staff is very friendly, front desk, restaurant and also Lisa, who took great care of our special needs. Her service went beyond her duty.
Cleaning of rooms wasn't good. Dirty towels from floor were hung up again, cups were not cleaned and other small things. Quite sloppy.
Food in restaurant is average.
M.
Hotel was very clean with nice furnishings and decor. Central location within walking distance to many bars and restaurants as well as the train station. My one complaint was the lack of closet and drawer space which required me to live out of my suitcase on a two week business trip.
J.
Great location right in the CBD. Impossible to park near the hotel, but overnight valet is reasonable priced. I enjoyed the manuka shampoo and body wash. Reception was very professional and had no problem holding our luggage for a couple days.
J.
Pricey for what you get. Good location. Impressive service. No free wifi
Had to stay here because of a last minute plan change and no availability elsewhere. Tried to use late-night room service, got a call later informing me they were super busy that day and didn't have any more food. Gave me phone numbers of some places I could order delivery (Not a big selection of late-night delivery places in Auckland, just FYI)
Edit: I was contacted the next evening and offered a complimentary meal, this went a long way to pacifying hangry me and I've improved the hotels rating and adjusted this review because of it)
They charge you $10 for Wifi and you only get a measly 2gigs. Enough to watch two movies basically
Parking was $40 a day
Other than that its a pretty decent hotel, if a bit over priced
T.
Perfect location at downtown. The rooms are on the smaller side. The best part is the convenience. Transportation is easy to the hotel. Our every need was met promptly and with such friendliness. Thank god there's plenty to do in the immediate neighborhood. The room itself was hotel standard clean.
L.
Fantastic location
Great rooms, easy valet parking, friendly staff
But very disappointed in the breakfast, there was not enough food, drinks, plates etc for us to have our breakfast. We had to wait for a table to become available and the staff seemed to not be able to cope with the amount of people they had. Very unprofessional and very disappointed.
d.
The hotel was great, and worth the price! Totally exceed my expectation. The staff were so friendly. Room is clean, modern, equipped with everything. I will stay in Grand Mercure again if i come back to Auckland.
D.
Fantastic location. Close enough to walk to all sorts of Auckland attractions. Close to really good cheap Korean food too. The service staff were really good to us also. Beds were sooooo comfy. Loved the place
S.
Easy access to ferry and train station, a 3 minute walk. Located in downtown Auckland. On waters. A nice place to walk. Easy access to airport by sky bus. Bus stop is literally outside the hotel. Breakfast spread is good. Excellent and courteous staff. Clean large rooms. Great room service
T.
Mercure Hotel is located near MacDonald's on customs st near
Brittomart where parts of Brittomart are still under construction so access is mainly from custom st and or of quay st .Excellent (a must stop) if staying in Auckland for those few days and is central to everything.
R.
Great location, a short walk from Queen Street, Britomart and the harbour area with it's various restaurants. The Grand Mercure is a really well presented hotel with pleasant amenities that make going back to it after a busy day in the city really great. Would recommend for sure!
J.
Nice and centrally located in Britomart. Our room was clean and their service staff was nice and accommodating. There isn't any self parking and the only option at the Grand Mecure is $40/day valet. Also any credit card purchases have an extra 2% surcharge.
I.
My daughter and I came up to see Turok and play tourist for a couple of nights. From the moment we arrived all the staff, including the restaurant staff were awesome. Everything was easy! Thank you all for making our stay enjoyable... I can defo be recommending. :)
P.
overall the accommodation was good, trying to get the reception from the hotel room was to say the least terrible. Did not answer the phones and giving out incorrect information. Asked for additional pillows and received them with out pillow slips!! No printer in the business centre had to ask for the reception to print off but they kept giving out the incorrect email address hence the important documents for my meeting could not be printed until the next day
B.
I pass this hotel every morning and watched it being renovated over the past few weeks. This morning I was thrilled to see they have opened a very nice cafe at the entrance called Custom lane. The food here looks great and the organic coffee is GREAT. I couldn't walk past without trying it.
B.
Our room was very nice.(507). The paint on the tiles just needs to be removed if possible and the toilet was running after being flushed. However there had just been a whole floor makeover and tidy up may have been hurried to complete. Maybe final inspection had not been carried out. Will use Mercure again.
N.
The location and room are great.
However our room was next to staff rooms and the door was banging all morning.
Also house keepers knocked on the door and tried to enter our room not once but twice when we already put "do not disturb" sign.
My partner was having high fever throughout the whole stay and was hoping to sleep in but was disturbed by the door banging noises and house keepers knocking and entering the room. So not a great experience.
M.
First impressions were amazing. Whole stay did not disappoint. Will definitely be back and would recommend. Suited our needs perfectly. Onsite restaurant with an amazing view was a bonus. Super practical location and facilities as a whole. Thanks!!
G.
Great atmosphere during the Lions Rugby tour.
Hotel is in the perfect place for all the entertainment.
Staff are excellent as is the dining area on the top floor.
Hotel car parking staff were very attentive and was much appreciated.
I.
Not bad, but not great. Outdated rooms, albeit quite spacious. No free WiFi in 2015?!?!? Air-con was not cold; room felt humid even at lowest air-con setting. There was only a tiny bit of cold water coming out the shower (hot water was fine), making it quite difficult to have good water flow without burning yourself. Good location though - smack bang on Queen Street.
F.
Good customer service and great food.
L.
Lovely warm welcome, friendly and helpful information given straight away. Warm comfortable room with all necessary facilities. Easy and friendly checkout. Overall a great stay at very cost effective prices. Well done!!
S.
Saw better hotels for this price. Nice location in the heart of the city with harbour view. Clean and tidy - pretty new building. Breakfast is rich, however there were some things not being refilled.
S.
Not good . I was shocked on my last day of stay at Grand Mercure. One of your staff from Check-in counter suddenly open my room even though the "DO NOT Disturb" light was "ON" at that time.
I thought this was very rude to just open my room without knocking the door and apologised after seeing us inside the room. I still wondering whether I was staying in a low budget hotel or not.
I had never came across any incidence like this happened before.
I do not want to further comment on your hotel services. YOu should know better.
a.
Stayed 1 night only, everything was value for money however I feel the car valet service could have been more upfront in terms of costs. I tried looking on the website for information on the cost but couldn't find it and I then asked for information on it when online booking but never got it. I did receive an SMS welcoming our arrival and details of valet parking area, but no costs. On checkout I was billed $40 for valet.
J.
As a regular guest at the Grand Mercure, i've watched the hotel morph through the renovations to become one of the best value for money hotels in Auckland. The staff are always friendly and great, rooms clean & ready on time and the location is central to all the cool bars & restaurants of the Britomart, Viaduct & Wynyard Quarter
D.
Absolutely loved our stay at the Grand Mercure ! Staff were extremely helpful, and welcoming. The room ( Devonport ) was stunning ! Everything about our stay was A1 from start to finish...we will definitely be back next time we are in Auckland !
S.
Very warm greeting once overcome problem with valet parking. Impressed we received a call to see if we had everything. We were 3 ladies sharing a room but only 2 wine glasses but that was quickly attended to
C.
The Breakfast Buffett is to die for! Do you want eggs? Poached? Fried? Smoked salmon? Do you want Dumplings? How about freshly made fruit juice that you blend yourself with a fresh selection of ingredients.
Seriously amazing selection of food to cater for all tastes.
Not to mention the view!
Highly recommend.
T.
Magnificent hotel, true mirrors in the bathrooms, view of Skytower at night time is dazzling, a well equipped gym. But for heaven's sake, who picked these books for the hotel library? Not even one novel, and ok, I understand the "inoffensive" books about gardens and birds, but really, old tractors or "a compendium of collective nouns"? I mean I like nouns but that's a little bit over the top.
A.
Beautiful hotel with superb rooms and comfy pillows. The staff were outstanding and as friendly as I have found anywhere in the world. Great job guys. See you next time
V.
Mercer motel, one of the best customer service ever I had in newzealand and one of the best host ever I have met is crissy Emerson. She is such a nice host and provides me a very clean and tidy accommodation to stay which makes me to visit mercer motel again and again.
Whenever I travel to Auckland from Palmerston North now I always would like to stay at Mercer Motel.
Thankyou crissy for your great service.

We were very pleasantly surprised as our last stay here was not very pleasant but this was the only option we had to stay right in the middle of the CBD as past of our Accor membership. The hotel has had a massive refurbish and modern update and was lovely.
M.
Hotel was just remodeled. It looks great and very modern. Top to have internacional outlets and also USB ports on the wall. Breakfast was expensive but excellent. Location is very good also. Great experience, I recommend for sure.
V.
I entered the hotel rather late in the evening with some additional problems. The 3 people who helped the most were absolutely marvelous. I am from the States, I got my car after dark, I had had no idea how far from the airport I was going to have to travel in the dark on strange roads in a land that drives on the opposite side of the road. Your people on duty that night - a young man and a female at the front door and the person who checked me in were unbelievably helpful and comforting. I was quite shaken, they took the car to the garage, were very helpful at checkiin making it as easy as possible, without asking got my bags to my room and prepared a cup of tea for me in my room. The female bellhop came to my room with me and helped me to settle in for the night. She was wonderful! I just could not have asked for more help. I'm sorry but the paper on which I wrote names I could not find at this time.
J.
My experience at the Grand Mercure Auckland was extremely pleasurable and far exceeded my expectations. The hotels decor and amenities were stylish and up-to-date, the staff had amazing customer service skills and we loved the convenient location and buffet breakfast at Vue. The Valet car parking was also affordable and much easier than parking elsewhere.
R.
I had specifically asked for ` quiet room. Extremely disappointed to be given a room opposite the lift. Any season traveller (as I am) will tell you that the best rooms are the ones you have to walk the furthest too....No loud conversations outside the lift or in the corridor. No good enough.
J.
We had a very pleasant stay starting with a real warm welcome by the valet and concierge guys they were awesome and made us feel real welcome! breakfast on the 13th floor was alo real nice with the view and quality food on offer
D.
MIQ hotel. Reasonable food. Poor areas for exercise. Comfortable bed and ok room. Windows don't open, ac is quiet.
S.
My absolute favorite place to stay. It smells amazing in the lobby. The most comfortable beds & great service. The food in the restaurant is awesome as well.
M.

J.
Rooms are small and a bit drab. The staff are fantastic, friendly and helpful. Good central location and the restaurant has a pleasant view with good food.
T.
One of the best we have stayed at. Great service with very friendly staff from reception right through to the bar and breakfast. Great location. Will not hesitate in coming back.
R.
Very nice hotel. Great staff, great location. Room had a nice bed and updated decor. Newly renovated bath. 13th floor bar/restaurant with great views.
N.
Nice hotel close to the harbour and all the action of downtown Auckland. Great view from top floor restaurant although currently a bit spoiled by the cranes for construction work which is completely out of the control of the hotel.
J.
I had a really good experience staying with Mercure. Had a hard time finding the entrance as there were renovations going on and the only sign I saw was a Mercure carpark sign not a guest entrance sign. But other than that my stay was pleasant, comfortable and convenient as it was near all the shops, restaurants and work.
S.
Lots of little things that made a difference!
Fantastic breakfast with very attentive staff especially at breakfast and in the bar area.
Lovely bedroom.. love the cushion menu and the smart decor ..luxurious shower.
A.
Had a very comfortable stay at this hotel for work purposes. Gym is small but has a decent overall equipment. Good service in the restaurant but a little pricey for Auckland.
M.
My husband I are stayed at the Grand Mercure Auckland for two nights and we will be back. My only complaint would be that the noise from outside was a little loud, but that was the only issue (if anything!). The pillows and bed were comfortable and we were made to feel very spoilt during our stay.
J.
Super friendly staff, comfy beds, awesome coffee from the lobby cafe & only $40 per day to have your car valet parked for you as you please. Also a great location for for tourists😊
A.
Ate at the Vue restaurant, service was very friendly and efficient from the foyer to the table. Food was of a high standard and the prices aren't too bad unless you get the steaks which are a price bracket higher than the rest of the menu.
A.
A lovely view from the restaurant, at the top of the building. The entrance needs to be updated. It was hard to know where to stand nor where to go. Rooms were ok, facilities were clean.
G.
Excellent location and the staff were friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble
I had a room with a view which made my quarantine stay bearable.
D.
The room was good and complete with toiletries. Other hotels don't normally have dental kits readily available and you'll have to request it. There's a big difference between Mercure in Auckland and in Singapore. My family and I love Singapore Mercure (Roxy) and it's far better than Auckland's Mercure.
K.
Staff remembered us !! We haven't been for 18 months!
Menu and food much better than last time …
S.
Nice food at the restaurant. Recently renovated rooms. Our room was unusually loud though for some reason. Maybe forgot the sound-seals on the door after renovations?
Good overall. Would stay again.
R.
The refurbished Grand Mercure is a nice place to stay in a very handy location. The Staff are lovely & helpful, nothing was a problem. Will definitely stay again, although they need to buy a commercial toasting machine for the breakfast serve.
S.
The accommodation was good and staff are friendly.
Location is good but breakfast was not worth,as bacon and pork were served and no chicken or lamb for non pork and beef eaters.
T.
This place is big. 2 complimentary buffet breakfast for room stay option to have others join. Close to everything.
Breakfast has lots of options favourite was juice bar.
T.
Great looking hotel... the staff was very good. Rooms are small but then if you are out for the day it doesn't matter.
J.
Newly refurbished rooms were great with nice ocean view. Breakfast bar has fresh food, though the selection is smaller than other Accor hotels.
J.
Friendly and helpful staff Breakfast had a great choice but cooked food was not hot Good equipment in the gym but small area. Room was comfortable and well serviced.
G.
I liked the hotel. Unfortunately there were renovations going on in the lobby that were quire loud at times. Other than that, the room was nice and clean and modern and the brunch was quite good!
A.
We stayed in the hotel for a business trip with our clients.
Very nice place to stay.
Special Mention to Carla Bencivenga for his very warm and professional welcome and support during our stay.
Definitively the place to stay in Auckland.
Pierre-Olivier Di Fusco
T.
We have stayed at many Hotels in Auckland. This would be one of the best. This was our first stay at Mecure, location brilliant our stay was extremly pleasant frm Valet parking, reception, rooms. We will definetely be highly recommeding Mecure and will be back next time we stay in Auckland.
J.
New fitout is super sexy. The staff are very cordial and genuinely take pride in their jobs. A big shout out to all at front desk - you guys are brilliant
L.
From the ease of online checkin to receiving my access cards, was a breeze.
Checking out was painless, with the reception staff being their professional selves.
What would be handy is a towel rail for the hand towels. Not a major, but something to possibly consider.
D.
As I have cancelled my membership due to age this was my last complimentary night and last night as a member . Our stay with you was a fitting farewell to our Accor experience which has spanned many years and all have had great memories. May I suggest the "Fountain of Youth" be installed in your wonderful hotels to enable us to continue as Accor members. A fond farewell to you all.
M.
Great room, only downside is that the chair and desk combination is not that ergonomic if you have work to do. Hdmi into the tv is a nice touch, power outlets in good locations also.
B.
From reception on entering to reception on leaving our whole experience of the Grand Mercure was well above expectations. All staff were really welcoming, friendly, helpful and went over and above to meet our needs. We will certainly be staying with the Grand Mercure on our next trip to Auckland.
A.
Fantastic hotel. The breakfast room has a great view and the buffet selection is delicious.
Staff were very friendly and helpful
S.
Amazing place, friendly staff, nice views from the suite on 9th floor, public parking in front and limited valet parking for VIPs in the premises. Right in the middle of city. Close proximity to everything from trains, buses, pubs, McDonald's, waterfront, ferry and lots of fun spots near.
G.
Refurbished rooms and décor made this a great stay. Rooms are vey nice and comfortable. Good size TV with all the trimmings. Great improvement compared to the last stay.
S.
This hotel is the best, we always stay here when visiting Auckland. The service is first class and the rooms are great. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
C.
Staff were helpful and friendly. Rooms were well appointed and nice to see a decent sized TV in the room. A wonderful experience for our first visit.
S.
The long island ice tea I had at the roof top bar is at the top of the food chain If you are lucky to get the french bartender prepare it for you. So awesome i did not bother taking a pic. Tomorrow then!!
T.
We stayed in a beautiful suite, excellent customer service, staff we're very attentive to our requests I would definitely recommend this hotel
c.
Had a lovely nights stay felt very luxurious and a little pampered staff very engaging and helpful. The only downfall the noise from the street below obviously not double glazed windows we were on the 5th floor and it was a Friday night .
M.
We ended up staying at the hotel when our B&B unexpectedly cancelled on us. The staff was wonderful and the accommodations were lovely - a nice respite in a stressful time.
S.
To much stress with so much work going on. Staff were ok but seemed distracted! Carlia the italian girl was great but had to move us and change rooms because of noise & work bar staff very slow & non responsive 4 premium price!!
S.
Well situated hotel with impeccable customer service, great facilities, and modern rooms. The dining is first rate and view of the harbour are wonderful.
J.
The location is great - just short walk to harbour and shopping area. Breakfast is good - offerring your own healthy juice drink. Bed quality is marvelous.
Z.
Beautiful rooms, friendly staff, good restaurant and a great location. Also pretty nice view on queen St side
A.
The room I stayed in on the second floor was very large, and the bed was very comfy. BUT there was a huge amount of road noise right through the night.
R.
Great location. A bit soulless but clean, modern, comfy. Gym is hopeless. Food and bar a bit of a non event. Staff very friendly and helpful throughout
S.
It's a bit dilapidated for the price. Great view of the sky tower from the restaurant, which is why it isn't a 2 star. Very disappointed that they haven't got any wifi connection. Glad it is only for one night. Not the usual mercure standard.
F.
staff were very friendly and the room was nice and comfortable. everything updated and the view was great too. will be happy to stay here again. thank you
K.
The upgrade and appearance was fantastic!
The noise when trying to sleep was very loud. Double glazing would go a long way.
Checking in process was long even though i did it online.
Shower was cold for a long time then got very hot and wouldn't turn down
R.
Nice hotel at downtown Auckland with a great view of sea and ferry harbor. All good and known stores and eateries are at walking distance but you can't beat train station which is behind this hotel.... awesome
S.
Above everything else, the helpfulness and friendly accommodating manner of the staff here is to be applauded! In particular the staff at the restaurant at breakfast! I’ve had 3 breakfasts here and was really impressed, well done!
C.
This was a very nice hotel, amazing rooms and staff were friendly. The bar was OK, nice room setup and views but the bar selection was a bit disappointing for such a nice place
S.
This is a wonderful hotel! The customer service is phenomenal and the rooms are modern and spacious. It’s in a great location and I will be back next time I come to Auckland.
K.
For most it was lovely.... But the location was a bit noisy, especially on a Saturday night. We were woken up at 2am by patrons running through the corridors screaming "FIRE!!!"... there was NO fire. They were drunk. There are lots of bars nearby.
k.
It an average corporate hotel at best. There are way better for the same money. The best thing about it is the location, also don't waste your money on the breakfast there is way better, just take a walk outside.
D.
Room was not clean enough. Bed kept on moving as not attached to head board, bathroom was not very clean. discussion with restaurant in regards to charges for meals when a package had been bought including breakfast and the evening meal charged in full when accor card had been used
A.
Great central location. Facilities OK. Rating E for unsatisfactory food! We even went to a take away that had A. Waiter argued and insisted one of our group had ordered something they had not. Noisy at night, over the road from a strip joint. Not recommended.
M.
Although a bit noisy from patrons down the street and a tricky entry when driving there, still a great experience. Friendly and attentive staff. Clean and well equipped
C.
The place is nice once inside, but finding it is horrible, especially when in a car. The entrance is hidden away no parking anywhere around it seemed until I paid for parking and walked back. Once there very nice staff and rooms very nice and comfortable.
r.
The atmosphere, location and service are all good. What let's it down are the too soft and uncomfortable beds and pillows. I didn't have a good night's sleep the entire time I was there which was a shame
J.
Room was clean and comfortable, but lighting was very dim - very hard to read by. and no bedside lamp that worked. Reception were friendly and efficient.
R.
Great service, parking is a little tricky to find and get into though, clean comfortable room shower pressure was a bit pathetic unfortunately. Great stay
N.
Hotel itself was lovely. The reception staff were great. However, we were there for a function and the food/service for that was quite underwhelming.
S.
They were very helpful and the breakfast was amazing. However my only compliant would be my room. There were a couple of things that were falling apart which wouldn't take too much work to fix and would bring it up to 5 stars
T.
These places ," i pass," every day as i stay locally too Auckland and only stretches as far as i might travel in respect too any place that i may pass or visit which may limit about more areas that is yet to be put out into the community for the the public to find access too these places.
So there a fair bit of repetiveness in the areas i pass its a bit extensive too document everything but most of the places are easilly accessable like the Grand Mercury Hotel central too Auckland and is located at the bottom of Queen St and Custom St
Which backs on to the Brittamart
Railway Station.
A.
Very nice hotel. The staff were excellent and the service exceptional. My only negative comment would be that the dinner menu was somewhat limited.
J.
Very good, but the better things are the more you notice small things that are not quite right. Shower floods bathroom floor. WiFi often drops out. And a bit expensive. But I'll be back :-)
G.
All interactions with hotel staff were first class. Right from check in to check out every staff member treated us as a valued guest. Well done.
K.
Room was reasonable having been recently refurbished. Unfortunately double glazing was not included in the refurbishment. The room was very noisy in the early hours of the morning because of street noise.
V.
New modern hotel with great location. Close to the cruise liner terminal. Rooms are clean and staff are friendly and helpful
G.
Efficient and friendly staff, good restaurant with great view but small and noisy room (because of the road, was on 5th floor, but also from the corridor and other rooms even in the renovated part of the hotel).
T.
Great hotel! The restaurant at the top has amazing food and views!
P.
Beautiful interiors and excellent service here, conveniently in downtown Auckland. Be aware, however, that there's no parking underneath the hotel so there is either valet parking for $40 NZD or parking garages nearby
J.
if the back office staff who initially handled my booking acted in a very cooperative manner, I wouldn't have go back to the higher management to get my issue sorted. The attitude was changed by the very friendly staff at the front desk when we arrived.
T.
Recently remodelled and a great location. We were upgraded to a suite with great water views.
My only gripe is that we were near a service lift which was noisy all night long.
M.
Nice hotel, high standards throughout and amazing view from the bar on the 13th floor. Rooms are bit small, but very comfortable
R.
Lovely staff, nothing was too much trouble. Rooms are fantastic since the refurbishment and well equipped. Would definitely stay again.
T.
lovely hotel, wonderful service, centrally located. Beautifully clean and tidy and very accommodating staff. loved the pillow menu, thank you.
K.
from greeting through to room experience - expectations were exceeded. Tea on arrival, room was amazing, loved the glass wear and gold teaspoons, shower was to die for - LOVED IT!
C.
The staff were incredible with high attention to detail and cared about me in ways that other hotels haven't done. Very friendly too!
n.
Very nice sea view 11th floor I enjoyed Allso friendly staffs was Awesome two nights stay
Will book again in future
R.
It's in the good location close to shops. Rooms are clean but food options are limited. In general really happy with the hotel
T.
Place designed to make you feel like you're important with a generic high rise view of central Auckland and a consistent level of finish. I saw some alt right dude with all his starts maxed using game on a young woman behind the bar and it seemed effective but also like they were NPCs from some future iteration of GTA running their script.
D.
Awesome friendly team, great hotel, restaurant and Bar. Just a little hard to work out the entrance to park when you first arrive but also great valet service.
K.
Very comfortable, staff were knowledgeable and willing to assist, in all areas. Rooms were smallish but clean and comfortable. Towels were a little worn.
s.
More than helpful staff. Nice amenities. Center of bustling harbor district. Convenient to public transportation, restaurants, shopping. 10 minute walk to the Sky Tower.
M.
Modern hotel in the CBD of Auckland. Excellent location in Queen st, just steps away of Britomart and Silos. Additionally an Innerlink bus and an airport shuttle stops are in front and at the door of the hotel which is very convenient.
T.
Best location, right next to britomart station. There is a lot of good restaurant with walking distance. The room is clean and modern. The top floor restaurant view is incredible.
V.
Grand mercury is a good hotel to stay. Near to skybus and Harbour. Especially lots of thanks to the manager,Mr Raj who has been such a helpful to us. God bless you.
N.
Great cozy room with the usual amenities. Had a nice view in our room. Service was prompt when I had a few questions.
S.
First class hotel let down by maintenance issues in what was a very nice room. Twice called to fix broken toilet seat and never resolved.
A.
Food and service was very good. One of those hidden restaurants that nobody talks about. The view of the city or harbour makes the experience all the better
V.
Hotel that is located conveniently by the harbour and is close to Britomart restaurants and Viaduct. It is also a short walk to Queen street for Shopping. To the airport, it is located just next to the Skybus stop which connects to the Airport directly or via their lounge.
R.
We had a wonderful stay! The rooms are clean, modern, and very comfortable. I slept like a baby.
T.
I have stayed a few times now.The staff are very welcoming on arrival and very efficient. The rooms are well appointed and fresh.
B.
Very nice hotel, great views over city and harbour from the restaurant. The picture shows Auckland CBD from our 11th floor room
B.
Came in for dinner with friends. Nice atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. The food was amazing. Great experience and look forward to do it again.
M.
Rooms and venue were nice. Howeve the wifi didn’t work anywhere in the building properly.
S.
Check in easy, staff is friendly and great...room was very spacious and clean. The restaurant upstairs has wonderful views.
A.
The staff was amazing really helped us through whole process. And my gratitude to the server in the restaurant he was a Fijian fella couldn't remember his name he was expectional ..Over all very good
D.
Wonderful evening dinner spent with a GrabOne deal for a birthday. Just wish the piano was being utilised to serenade us while we dined. Support live music 🙂
S.
Came for a work conference, the conference rooms are really comfortable the morning tea was awesome. One of the more comfortable conference's I've been to. Highly recommended.
K.
Very Central very accommodating staff breakfast had a lot of choices even went and got your coffee for you and I was very impressed with would highly recommend staying and eating here
S.
So far so good, check-in was prompt, service was friendly and the rooms are modern and super clean. I believe the hotel has undergone renovations recently.
J.
Dreadful, very intermittent WiFi - not good for a major city. The worst WiFi access from our travels so far, including Ayres Rock in Australia.
T.
The room was ok, with a couple of problems which we didn't bother to follow up on ie; the tv remote was not working properly and the air conditioning was not to our satisfaction, other than that the staff were fabulous
C.
Rooms, service and banqueting all great. Great view from restaurant on 13F. The staff are well trained
D.
Comfy bed, well air conditioned room, huge and very clean bathroom, fantastic dinner in the restaurant with great views (make sure to book if later in evening to get window seat).
R.
Great location, easy check in/out, friendly staff, good rooms (great shower), and great breakfast (with a view).
G.
Great location in the center of Auckland. Nice room and good service. Breakfast is excellent but I didn't try the restaurant
P.
Everything was great except the lack of soundproofing. It is hard to understand how a widely-advertised $22m investment did not address one of the main issues of the building. Still a lot of noise both from the street and internally.
A.
Good room, very good location, enjoyable restaurant but above all excellent service. About the best we have had for a long time
B.
Fantastic room, refurbishment amazing, staff amazing and helpful. Perfect place to stay so close to every amenity... thanks for a wonderful stay
G.
The lady who checked us in was lovely and made our stay enjoyable. Great newly renovated room.
D.
My experience is always fantastic. Can you cut back on the feedback. We stayed at the Pullmans and the Mercure Grand both amazing I always give you a 10.
J.
This hotel had everything I required, except free Wifi. The staff were extremely helpful. A very pleasant stay.
D.
We had a great family stay at Grand Mecure. Tom in the restaurant was great and the reception staff were very helpful without being aloof.
l.
The reception was helpful and very pleasant and informative. Loved this experience and the location was perfect! So good I'm coming back next week!
D.
Rooms where very good but staff only 3 star thay were vacuuming around us while we were standing at the bar not on.!!!
A.
Modern and clean room. Staff are friendly, location is unbeatable. Will stay again in near future.
F.
First time visit. Nice central location. Modern room. Can see the ocean and sunrise from 13 dining room.
S.
Good hotel, platinum upgrade, newer rooms more modern but smaller. Bar and Restaurant nice, great view!
B.
This was my first time to stay at this hotel. It is in a great location, the room was wonderful and the restaurant on the 13th floor is breath taking.
R.
Warmly welcomed & farewelled & very convenient location. Room was well appointed & TV had good range of channels.
J.
There's two Grand Mercure is one is above McDonald's on customs. The other is on Queen Street straight across from Westpac. Enjoy your stay in Auckland City.
s.
The experience is pretty good, helpful staff and we were there due to MIQ, food is great, good ambiance.
C.
Beautiful Hotel, the team on reception are just wonderful. Really knowledgeable and helpful. A+ Service
R.
Good hotel with friendly staff. Room was well laid out and comfortable. Great location.
B.
We spent one night, the room and breakfast buffet were very good, as was the location.
s.
Nice hotel and cool restaurant view at the top of the building.
r.
Grand Mecure.beautiful hotel.superb rooms and the best breakfast anywhere.the staff are wonderful.
Love this place!
J.
Attended for a supplier event. Food and nibbles were good. The slider mini burgers served were quite nice.
R.
What a lovely hotel. The staff displays true kiwi hospitality to their guests from check in to the restaurant! Definitely recommend.
K.
Newly renovated rooms are very nice. Room was very clean and a dream to stay at. The only downside was WiFi was very weak and unusable in the room.
A.
Very nice hôtel in Auckland. Best location near Britomart station, the ferrys and queen street.
M.
Although the room was quite small, it was definitely adequate for our needs. Room was clean and staff very friendly
C.
Enjoyed my one night stay. Slept very well and had a delicious breakfast.
R.
Nice place. Only thing is while the Auckland CBD works are going on the entrance is a little hard to find (you have to park in the yellow no park zone) nice facilities and very central.
p.
Got engaged here on NYE 2019. 5 course degustation menu was delicious. Thanks chef Daniel!
P.
Really nice hotel. Well located. People how work there are great. The gym is a joke.
T.
From greeting to check out I was thoroughly impressed. Room was nice and clean, location of the hotel was prime.
M.
Good hotel and well trained staff.
Central location
Old but clean building
Good harbour view from h13th floor Resturant
M.
Centrally located in the city. Everything on the breakfast menu is fresh and naturally made. Excellent room service!
C.
Great place for a short stay, very clean and tidy. Rooms are well maintained
B.
It was great, room was nice/clean/tidy and the staff could not have been more helpful or pleasant.
T.
All good. Very friendly check in staff and to have the lift waiting for us with door open and our floor number pushed was very appreciated.
w.
Great hotel in the heart of Auckland's CBD. Warm, friendly staff and atmosphere. Reasonable prices.
K.
Beautiful rooms and facilities, excellent location and lovely view from the top floor restaurant.
P.
Very clean, well appointed rooms. My only disappointment was the small size of my room.
V.
Nice service hotel convenient to every thing, walking distance to cruise terminal, many restaurants, and parks.
a.
Nice clean rooms, helpful staff, very noisy stay as opposite pubs and clubs that rock on into the wee hours
R.
Great Rooms with view. Very good Food quality and good quality Service in Restaurant.
Worth the visit.
L.
I’m staying here for managed quarantine and the food and staff have been excellent. Thank you Grand Mercure <3
K.
From the minute we entered to the minute we exited, the service was impeccable aswell as the state of our room, we are most definitely going to be returning and we most definitely enjoyed our stay
J.
Great hotel, staff went out of their way to assist with my early arrival
L.
Nicely renovated but tiny rooms. Great restaurant with fantastic views of Akld
A.
Great hotel with friendly and efficient staff. Thanks for the little extra touches to make the stay even better.
T.
Room was clean, staff friendly, good bar and restaurant on top floor, breakfast was average
C.
(+++) Perfect location - lots of places to go out around
(++) Fancy design interior
(++) Good security concept
(++) you have a pillow menu
(+) well equiped room
(=) friendly staff but a bit stiff - you don't get really the welcoming feeling
(- -) they call their staff "storytellers" > finest corporate b****t
(-) Very noisy room (no noise proof windows or doors) - can be very annoying on a weekend night
(-) Dirty windows
Summary: On the outside nice, but weak on the details
M.
Great hotel, great location, very friendly staff, I couldn't have had a better experience when I stayed recently.
T.
A weekend stay with family, very good. Could have done with triple glazing as quite noisy on Saturday night, otherwise great
L.
I attended a work event at Grand Mercure and the conference room was set up very professionally with plenty of facilities.
H.
Only problem was excessive noise from the streets and especially from the nightclub in the basement. appreciate that the Hotel can't do much about either - just letting you now!
P.
Absolutely a great hotel to stay in, highly recommend to everyone who is planning on staying in central Auckland for a night or two.
0.
Hotel smack in the lower end of Auckland city. Situated 3 minutes stroll from the waterfront with some of the popular bars & restaurants near by.
T.
Rooms O.K., clean but not that spacious, Great harbour view from the breakfast room in the top floor and very good breakfast
M.
Lovely staff with warm concerning n understanding . Thanks Colleen , I enjoyed my staying n feel really safe around the staff . Handy location . Warm service . GO Go Colleen !
E.
Lovely hotel good service and perfect if taking a cruise as cruise terminal just around corner
G.
It was pleasure to deal with you guys. especially Mr Rajat he is an awesome Manager.
Would love to come back again very soon.
Y.
Nice hotel. Centre area. Easy to walk. Shop. Eat.
No parking lot. Have to valet.
M.
Nice place for conferences. The first time I went, I was very unimpressed with the food, however this time it was much better.
M.
There for work. Everything was clean and tidy. Staff provide great service. Conference was made so much better by them!
J.
Great hotel. Lovely restaurant. Close to main city shops as well as ferries and restaurants.
R.
Great place to get away great meals wouldstay if needed. Service with a smile.
R.
Great views of the City from the 13th floor bar and restaurant. Service was haphazard and not helped by the servers lack of communication and poor English.
a.
Good quarantine place to stay, as told by international guests 😅
R.
Always a great meal. Their express lunch is a good option for a quick lunch meeting!
M.
Although the view was towards the city and not the bay, couldn’t complain. Great ammenities and great location.
M.
The staff were very accommodating. The hotel is central to what we intended on visiting.
H.
Got an upgraded room, fantastic facilities and quality of room higher than expectations.
A.
We were not staying in the hotel, we were having a meal at Vue restaurant and enjoyed the food, service and view.
J.
Great location. Clean rooms and friendly staff. Would stay again.
P.
Lovely hotel in every way. The room is of a high standard.
S.
Great service and convenient location. Very close to pier to catch shuttles. Food and bar on premises.
