R.Hobson Lodge is a great organized backpacker. The lockers are good, the curtains give us privacy on shared dorms and the little bed light is a plus!
The only downside, there isn't much ventilation going on in the building, so it gets excessively hot. The fans don't reach all the bunks in the bedroom and I have to grab an ice pack to hold on to so I could sleep. Maybe some air-con or bigger fans (ceiling ones maybe?) will solve the issue.
Apart from that, great staff, good location, and awesome facilities!
A.Honestly, a truly wonderful hostel. Exceptionally clean, comfortable, quiet and secure. Everyone has access to a locker and a small cupboard in the dorm rooms. You never have to wait to use a shower, stove, microwave, or computer. Everything is very chill and the place has great vibes!!
N.Clean and comfortable hostel in a great location close to city centre but not right in the busyness. Felt like my things were safe, bring your own lock for the metal box under the bed. Kitchen and bathroom facilities are clean. Beds are comfy and feel private because of how they are arranged. Quite place and not super busy. Good price as well. I would definitely stay here again.
J.Fairly good setup however the cleaning and ventilation is poor. The rooms are fresh and well set up. Beds down one side then good sized cupboards down the other. The cleaning standards were a let down though. The bathrooms were in constant need of attention. The kitchen and lounge were very stuffy. In need of much better ventilation
P.Just as the picture, it’s very clean and comfortable. Bit stuffy in dormitory especially in summer. Would recommend you bring a small chargeable fan...I am regretting why I left mine back home. Very friendly people and the communal areas are very clean. Highly recommend for those travelling alone looking to put up at a place that is clean and comfortable. The location is really great as it is in the city centre. Thumbs up for the staff and crew for maintaining the lodge so well.

Best hostel I stayed in so far.
Only thing is (but that seems to be a general thing for hostels), the beds are quite small if you're tall (I am 189cm) ^^
L.This is the first hostel I've seen where in a dorm room they put slots of wood in between beds, so if you're in the top bunk you don't have awkward eye contact with the person on the top bunk in the bed next to you. For that alone I'd give 5 stars. However it's also a good sleep, has plugs next to bed, good amount of storage place and secure lockers. One minor thing is I wish the window would open instead of just a fan as felt a little stuffy if you spent a long time in there. (Also the staff was super pleasant and helpful!)
S.No fuss place with almost everything but space. Fully furnished kitchen and dining. Clean rooms and bathrooms and we'll behaved roommates in my case. Can recommend to any bachelor or couple. Rooms may be smaller but fine for living and enjoying the outdoors of new Zealand
C.Great hostel. About 25 min walk to the center. It's very new and has more of a hotel atmosphere, so if you are looking for other backpackers, it might mot be the right place. Otherwise, everything is in very good condition, the facilities are clean, and the dorms are the best I have ever slept in.
E.This is very nice place to stay in the center of Auckland. It's in short walking distance to Queenstreet and K-road. Everything is very clean and tidy here and it has a modern look. The lodge is very spacious with a big kitchen and many toilets. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place.
L.Very nice place. Position: not so far from city center (500m to Queen Street), so that it is quiet at night. Room: very clean, bed in dorm room has curtain gives some privacy. Bathroom: super clean, enough wc and bathroom, has hair dryer. I really suggest this place
E.Great hostel - clean, quiet and tidy. Unlimited wifi available everywhere. Large lockers in rooms, curtains on the lower bunk beds and even towels and hairdryers in the bathrooms.
C.This hostel looked nicer that I thought. I stayed in a six-bed room. The bed was clean and the staff was friendly. There were many CCTV around the hostel, so I felt very safe. The location of this hostel was not in Auckland CBD, but it took only 25 minute walk to Britomart station which was not too far for me. Overall, this is a very tidy and cosy hoster for travellers. Highly recommended!

Currently, almost all hostels in the center of Aukland are fully booked.
Had trouble without posting something to find.
I landed at the newly opened "Hobson Lodge" and I am very satisfied!
It is very quiet and clean.
Alcohol is prohibited, which I like. in Aukland are enough bars;)
For $ 32 you get a 8 bed room with Wi-Fi.
At the moment I'm sleeping alone in the room😁
I would like to support the owners here a bit, because they are very friendly, but you also have your benefit.

A.Clean, quiet and great facilities. A little further out than most but the good night's sleep is worth a 5 minute extra walk. Comfy beds and cools rooms too.
M.The Hostel is perfect. They are so Kind and fulfill every wish you have. Plus it is not that expensive! Auckland is not my favorite City, but thats not because of the Hostel. Definetly can recommend!

J.(Translated) Review photos are somewhat exaggerated. It's not as wide as it actually is. The bedding was clean and so soft that I slept well. The kitchen was almost saturated at the time of the visit and filled with the luggage of other travelers. There are many parts of the bathroom that are inadequate to clean, but there are several shower and toilet compartments that could be used without having to wait in the morning.

리뷰 사진은 다소 과장된 바가 있음. 실제로 사진처럼 넓진 않다. 침구류가 깨끗하고 정말 푹신해서 잘 잤음. 부엌은 방문 당시에 거의 포화상태로 다른 여행객들의 짐으로 가득 차 있었음. 욕실에 머리카락 등 청소가 미비한 부분이 많으나 샤워실과 화장실 칸이 여러개라 아침 시간에도 기다릴 필요 없이 사용할 수 있었다.

Zimmer, Bäder und Küche sind sauber. Die Einrichtung ist für ein Hostel recht modern. Die Mitarbeiter sind freundlich und hilfsbereit. Im Zimmer gibt es unter den Betten verschließbare Schubladen. Ein Schloß kann man käuflich erwerben an der Rezeption (ca. $3).
Wie in jedem Hostel ist es auch hier recht hellhörig.
Ich würde jederzeit wieder eine Nacht hier buchen.
