The staff were very friendly and helpful. The facilities were amazing. Very lovely stay all in all :)

The room was clean and aircon kept it lovely and cool. Staff were accommodating and discreet. id stay here again.

We had our Valentine's date here & the stay was wonderful, they even decorated my room with a Romantic Package added to the room. Thank you VR hotel

My partner and I stayed here for 2 nights. Was okay for what we paid. Overall the staff members were friendly and polite, just missing a bit of confidence. The room was average, stains on the carpet and cup marks on the table plus a little mould in the shower, other than that the room was of a good size and the beds were super comfortable and clean. Ran out of milk very fast but appreciated having it stocked up when the room was cleaned. The continental breakfast was as expected and could upgrade to add hot food for an extra $7.5. Enjoyed our dinner in the restaurant, staff were accommodating and prices were fair. Burgers were good but the pizza was below average. Great location and so close to everything! Checking in and out was easy as, and there was secure parking underground. Overall we had a good time, hotel just needs a little upgrade and fine tuning.

Single rooms are a bit small but good value for money. Had to wait 20 min to get seated for breakfast. By the time, it was almost closing (10am).

Such good value for money. Very clean and spacious with everything you would need in your room. The only bad thing I could say about it is the bed is two singles pushed together. Still fairly comfortable though.

Very happy! After sleeping in a camper van for 1 week, this place was luxury. The room was a perfect size and the bed / pillows were very comfortable. It was very clean and welcoming. The toilet paper was even scented and the shower was amazing. The room also came a fully furnished kitchen - cutlery / pan / utensils / fridge / oven / dishwasher / microwave / kettle / toaster. Location was reasonable - about a 10-12 min walk to Sky Tower. Staff were accommodating and friendly.

Nicely designed. I loved my room here. It had a full kitchen (including dishwasher!), a sitting area, a dining table, and a bedroom with iron and ironing board, safe, and hangers. Everything seemed new and modern. The hotel staff were friendly and let us store our luggage at the hotel until we were able to check in. The hotel is situated perfectly, on a popular street with lots of restaurants and shopping. The light system with the room card was genius, but I don't know if that's specific to this hotel or usual for New Zealand (I'm from the United States). One drawback was the shower, which had a drain that didn't seem to work. I took a shower and washed my hair as usually, and I was standing in maybe an inch of water by the end. Yuck. The other drawback was the sheets, which felt like plastic, and the pillows, which didn't seem to be very good quality. Overall though, I really enjoyed my stay here and would definitely stay again.

We were impressed with this hotel although the rooms are very small and not what I would call 'Deluxe'. However, the facilities were more than we expected with a very comfortable bed, fridge, induction hob, oven and dishwasher. The bathroom was small but just adequate. Nice quiet stay. The only negative was we had booked through Expedia and their booking website said it included breakfast however the gentleman on reception informed us our booking did not. He could have quite simply gone into the Expedia booking page to see that it did so had to eat out and pay for breakast. Just left a bit of a bad taste otherwise we would have rated the hotel higher.

Nice clean rooms very decent size unfortunately the only faults is the milk they supply is hardly enough so had to ask for more And no windows are able to be open but otherwise comfy and clean would stay again

Great location, easy to get in and out of the city. The hotel is well maintained, clean and tidy. The bed was very firm,not too firm for my liking. The bedroom doesn't have tv in it but got one in the little lounge area, which is separate from the bedroom. Not much selection of tv channel to choose from and youtube app didn't work either. Was hoping for a better view but happy to stay again here.

Room really tide and facilties have bit worn out. But the staff are really friendly and helpful. Hot breakfast is good. The room rate is a reasonable. Worth for staying at this place

My wife & I celebrated our 22nd year anniversary & stayed here for the weekend. We were greeted with great customer service & friendly staff. Our room was so beautiful, very comfortable & so cozy. We have stayed here a couple of times now & every time it is a awesome experience 110%. We will be planning our next getaway very soon. Our home away from home. Thank you to the staff & especially Ajay who always looks after us & his guests very well😎

Conveniently closed to everything! Better to notify them about parking so they can save you a spot or else you’ll have to use the public Wilson Parking lots across the road. Cheaper if you have the app! Overall I’m happy with my experience with VR! Will definitely will book again!

Located at the Top of the hill Queen St Auckland, not bad, tidy and liveable rooms, but be careful when looking through there website, you may have to discuss options with the staff member on duty. Apart from that my bad

Absolutely love this place, the staff were very accommodating and even let me book an extra night in the same room last minute. Great location and the compact singles are a great easy stay over

King beds are actually two singles pushed together and made up as one, so not quite as good as suggested by the term 'king size bed'. Perfectly adequate room in other senses. A bit noisy (plumbing sounds, and outside noise mostly), but not too bad. Room was tidy and clean, nothing notably worn out or faulty, although there was a little item of deferred maintenance in that the kitchen tap was wobbly. Whether this is indicative of a general level of lack of attention to detail or an aberration oeculiar to one room only is not known. When I checked in at 6.30pm, the front door was closed and no-one was answering the phone number that was posted on the door. My take is that reception is understaffed, which did not set up a good first impression. I guess you get what you pay for, and that is fair enough.

A great room in a fantastic location. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. The room was well decorated and made good use of the odd layout. The studio kitchen with all appliances appliances and dishware was a great touch to add, and everything was fantastically clean. The bed was comfortable, although the blackout curtains left some gaps that repositioning the mounting hardware could fix. My safe didn't have batteries when I first arrived and someone was up your service it within minutes after a call to the front desk. The bathroom was really well done and felt brand new. The front desk staff were very courteous, check in and check out were a breeze. They let me leave my bags in their storage room while I did some sight seeing before my flight out of auckland as well.

This place is so big n comfortable. Big toilet with powerful shower. Complete kitchen with microwave n fridge. Lift available so no more stairs like other places around NZ. Lower side of the road is where all the shopping n restaurant located. A bit of climbing when coming back but its alright.

Had a awesome night in the city. Room was clean and nice. Mattress was so comfortable, best bed ever! Breakfast was nice.

For people out of town would have been nicer to have a friendlier face on front desk. bathroom had mold in shower and on walls.The female staff were nice.

It was nice of them to add an extra bed for me and my brothers. And the bed wasn’t to soft so that I didn’t wake up with a sore neck. But the car park was a pain since in a family of 5 the car we drive is quite long and big it was quite a challenge going in and out.

FIVE STAR The VR Queen Street Hotel was a great stay for my husband and myself. We received great customer service from the staff. The room was very pleasant to stay in, very cosy. Shower pressure was awesome, i loved it. We will definitely be back for sure. Our experience was 100%

This is a very pleasant, new and well-equipped 8-storey hotel very conveniently located at the top of Queen Street for the Karangahape Rd precinct. Staff are pleasant and helpful. Rooms are modern and many have city skyline views

Stayed here for 3-4 nights. The location is pretty good, just a roll down the Queen St hill to the CBD and Quay. Rooms are clean and tidy, as are the common / public areas. Reception and cafe/bar staff are friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast is fine, but cooked buffet options are a bit limited. Red frankfurts passing as chippolata sausages. Housekeeping in the rooms is ad-hoc. My room had an iron but no ironing board to use. (A board was promptly delivered on request.) After the room was cleaned, items still being used (shower cap, wash cloth, bath mat) were taken, but not replaced. Toilet roll was empty, not replaced. Simple things like several hooks on all room curtains were missing, no allocated place to rest a suitcase, and better training of housekeeping staff would improve a guest stay.

Rooms were ok but you could not adjust the height of the shower and the air conditioning wasn't working properly

Stayed one night and liked the location. Nothing bad to say about. I would give five star but they tried to give us a smaller room which we Disney booked but in the end they gave us good big our booked room. Loved the room. Check the room first , they have different sizes rooms.

Good hotel service, very happy with the room. A couple of the fixtures (light fixtures by bed and bathroom tap fixture) were a bit loose. Other than that, very happy with my stay.

I had a suite on the first floor which I got a good deal on through Expedia. The hotel is well situated on upper Quuen Street. My room was spacious, and clean but had badly badly worn carpet i was a bit leery of walking on in barefeet. Noise carried in from the outside and from noisy neighbours down the hall. The restaurant in the hotel is very good with excellent service. Although tipping is not the norm here in New Zealand I gave my waitress a good tip after two days of exceptional service. Front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. I'd recommend staying there.

Stay for two nights in May 2019, we have a two bed rooms unit (with a kitchen and dining table). Rooms was clean and spacious, recomended for family stay. You have to pay NZD35/night for parking at the hotel, for your convenience (which is overpriced, in my opinion).

Nice and tide rooms. If items are missing from the room they quickly replace it. Friendly staff. Perfect in CBD. Dont forget to book a carpark.

Our daughter arrived from Germany at 4.05am. We booked a room probably about 9.00am and asked if it was possible to have an earlier check in so she could get some rest-check in was mean't to be 3.00pm. About 11.30 am got a phone call saying that they would have ready by 12.30 am. I was surprised as didn't think they would bother. Outstanding service and much appreciated.A big thankyou from me, my wife and especially our daughter Emma.

Plenty of space in this roomy studio. It's a little dated but you tend to stay in a hotel for its convenience and it's right at the doorstep to downtown Auckland. Great shower! Lots of hotels have restricted waterflow but not at VR.

Great location. Tidy and modern room. Room was a little small but I don't need anything larger, I don't spend a huge amount of time in the room anyway. Bed was comfy. Only things I wasn't so keen on. Yes there is free wifi, but the access codes only last for an hour. So if you need another hour you need to call/go to reception and ask for another. Which for me was too much hassle so I just tethered. Also the restaurant was pretty minimal. But I'm not sure what I expected from a hotel restaurant anyway, so that's probably fair enough. All in all for the price, the location and the service. It's a pretty good deal! The underground parking is REALLY handy also!!

Clean and modern. Within easy walking distance to the marina and harbour front Handy hint: if you want a lovely, freshly baked breakfast at a great price, cross Queen Street and go down around 25m and the French Cafe is worth a call. Nice food in the evening as well.

There was a little bit of street noise but otherwise it was a great stay. Was a little disappointing that due to Coronavirus the restaurant was closed but being so central you have your choice of where to go.

Was not flash..the apartment was really worn down. The TV was not even facing up.

We had to visit Auckland for a family emergency so ended up booking for 2 couples and 1 single on the day we wanted to stay. We managed to get a 1 bedroom and a 2 bedroom apartment so sleeping arrangements were great. The staff were friendly and there was no trouble with booking, checking in or out. The rooms were probably kitted out 5 years ago and although they looked ok initially there were plenty of signs of wear. Stains on the carpet and arm chairs and big marks on walls. We also had an odd wet spot on the carpet. The beds are very comfortable and we all slept well. I had read someone complain about I'll fitting sheets and that in fact is true, they do not fit the king beds properly. The weirdest thing about the two-bedroom apartments are the glazed wall facing one of the bedrokms in the only bathroom, which although is frosted, means if the light is ok the entire bed room is lit, they can kind of see what you are doing, and of course hear everything! Would possibly stay again if we got a great deal and needed to be closer to the hospital again.

First impression upon walking into the 1 bedroom suit: 1) very compact 2) cleanliness 4/10 - I had to reclean the bathroom specifically the toilet - Carpet stained, couch stained and walls have stains throughout - Dirty utensils Also you need to pay $35/night for parking not included in room price.

Stay was ok, a lot of confusion at check in, was told the $250 bond would be returned in the morning but because it was a Saturday won't be there till Monday, then had to call the bank on Monday and they said it won't be there till Tuesday or Wednesday. Noticed a few loose electrical sockets and a few cobwebs here and there, could also do with a carpet clean but bed was comfy as, and shower was mean

I was really impressed with VR Queen Street. I had stayed there once before just after it opened and didn't enjoy the experience. This time, however was a complete turn around. The rooms were great, staff were excellent and it was thr cleanest hotel I've stayed in in a long time.

A friend and I stayed here for 4 nights as part of a mystery holiday. Great location for playing after work. Easily accessible to taxi from the hotel. ***** the streets, there are ***y eateries where you will be spoilt for choices. On the whole the stay was good.

Stayed 2 night's Room's where clean and cosy, no road noise, Microwave,dises and cutlery so was able to Cook a meal no problem ,staff were very friendly and helpful, Good off street undercover parking for a price, Great location easy walk to shops,bottle Shop across the road and a good little convenience store

The VR Auckland was a great little Hotel and I give it 4 stars for great service and lovely comfy beds. However, we were ripped off by AATKings, who, due to our flight landing us in Auckland little late on the first day, charged us $300 to book 1 additional night. Upon discussing this with VR Hotel Reception Staff we were advised that the VR never charges that amount for a room. Their prices are per room not per person and the highest is around $165 per night. A HUGE THUMBS DOWN to AATKings for ripping off the Aussie travellers. My advice is check everything from AATKings VERY carefully before you make payment.

Stayed with my family and i loved the room very much. The shower presser was excellent and the bed was so comfy.

This hotel was good but the hotel staff were a little bit unsure of how to confidently deal with customers and when my taxi arrived to take me to the airport 1 member of staff sent the driver away, was only coz i ran out and asked the driver before he drove off that i actually got to the airport on time

Well situated, even walking to the bottom of Queen Street is doable, so all the attractions in the CBD are walkable. Staff are polite and helpful and the rooms are fairly nice and modern.

i stayed in this hotel for 12 days and i am leaving on next day. the hotel staff are so gentle and helpful, they have provided me a lot useful information during my vacation i have a feeling of being one of the New Zealander when i am here :) there is a massage chair next to the reception, you can enjoy free massage for 15 mins. usually no one on queue, so you can enjoy for 30 mins some time~~~

Got a good price last minute for a room here and was quite impressed with the room size, set up, facilities and decor. Felt like it was really good value for money.

A great little boutique hotel. Has its own secluded vibe, which is great if you want to escape the business of Queens St Auckland. The restaurant Latitude 36 has a fantastic menu and beverage range.

Wi-Fi system needs to be upgraded Download Speed is about 0.4 mbps which is too slow. It would take about 2 minute for Facebook to load. Besides that it a great place to stay

Nice stay here. We had an issue with our room and were given another one to stay in with no hassle.

Hotel itself is not high end but the service from the staff was exceptional, the food rivals any 4 or 5 star hotel. The location is walkable to major downtown go-tos.
