It has everything you need - safe, clean, and very central, with short-term and long-term options.
I was a long-term resident and had a lovely stay. All the staff were exceptionally friendly, accommodating, and helpful, and the other residents were very welcoming and considerate.
I stayed in a single deluxe room which was huge - especially compared to tiny apartment bedrooms for the same price in the CBD - and came with its own fridge and in-built storage (wardrobe, desk, drawers). Massive time saver too as communal areas were kept clean and tidy by staff, fresh linen was provided weekly, and power was included in the weekly payment.
A wonderful home away from home. Absolutely recommend.

YWCA situated in Vincent Street, the heart of Auckland City was a perfect place to experience it.
I totally recommend YWCA for someone looking for an affordable accommodation close to your workplace in the city and popular Universities. Rooms are cozy but kitchen, bathroom and toilets are communal.
Great staff and excellent service!
I was a long-term resident at the exclusive 6th floor ( the floor has two kitchen and accessible to residents of that floor only.)It is also preferred by many due to this amenity.

4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for my overall experience( loved the wardrobe as it fit all my clothes and belongings) but it lost one ⭐️for their shared 🚽 and bathrooms.
An advice to someone who is a cleanliness freak(toilets might disappoint you sometimes).
No matter how clean the cleaners did their job, fellow residents sharing might not always care about the next person who would use it(this happened several times in spite of cleaning instruction stuck in the toilet or feedback notes sent occasionally).
Solution for ☝🏼: Please invest in some sanitising products( I did for almost 7 months when I was there) and clean it anyway thinking you doing community service and it works perfectly fine😇
After all, it is better to be cautious in these uncertain Covid 19 :) days.
Lastly few points to remember if you there for a long haul:

L.The YWCA has became my new home in NZ. I first came last year for holidays. Now I am studying and staying long term. The location is the best, in the CBD, close to AUT campus in the city.
The Y is a good accomodation for short and long term. There is a huge kitchen to share, TV rooms and study rooms. Each tiny room has everything you need including a small fridge. They even lend you a basket with kitchen ustensils and kitchenware when you arrive, so you don't have to buy stuff straight away. How cool is that?

R.The staff are so friendly and welcoming and always go out of their way to make you feel at home, definitely the sort of environment you want to be in if you’re feeling homesick 🙂 the hostel grounds are well secured from the outside and is very safe. It’s definitely the place to stay if you’re travelling alone.
s.I've stayed at YWCA for 6+ months and have made friendships for life. YWCA is warm(literal and figurative both😄) and will make anyone feel at home. It was my home away from home. Miss this place and its People. Warm hug to my YWCA family.

The best accommodation/hostel in Auckland city for singles, especially for women if looking for a long-term stay. This place is neatly maintained and the occupants are very friendly and helpful.
The hostel manager, Steve is very supportive and friendly. I had a great time during my three weeks' stay here.
G.Friendly receptionist who is helpful and always willing to help young people with direction around and he is also a good listener. I stayed one night at the private room and I found the public bathroom quite clean. Quite area for a good night of sleep but just 5 min walk from city centre. Perfect!

B.A lovely private room including a mini fridge. Clean bathrooms and showers and a large community kitchen. Helpful and friendly staff. Quite expensive but with the potential for subsidised longer-term stay. I felt really safe here.

E.I Stayed here for more than 7 months, great attention from the people working here, friendly ambience with a lot of people from every place of the world wanting to share stories, some problems like restorations and internet, but it has a really good price compared to other hostels, great experience overall
