G.We had a very comfortable stay at 171 on High in Blenheim. The rooms were a good size, well furnished, and air conditioned! The kitchenette was well equipped, and reception staff /management were happy to help if we needed anything at all. The laundry facility was really useful and the parking was easy. We stayed for 10 days, at short notice, and moved rooms . Room 6, the 2 bedroom suite, has a large lounge, good for people to gather. We liked room 7, the one bedroom suite for the HUGE bathroom, and proper bed in the lounge for our son, and lots of natural light. Our favourite was the corner room, room 12, I think, which had seating, sleeping, dining, kitchenette all in one space. It was very light and airy. We stayed 10 days all together, and did not feel cramped at all.
S.This motel was spotless and recently refurbished. The kitchen had everything we needed and more. It was less than 10 minutes walk to Countdown and the town centre. Good parking and easy access in all directions for touring. The staff were friendly and helpful, nothing was a problem. We will definitely stay here again.

R.The motel is very near to town. It may take 10 minutes to walk to the town centre or Countdown super market. Free wifi available. Secure place for car parking. The area is well fenced. Lot of information available at the motel. Booking online was easy and no hussle when checking in. We had a function at Senior Citizens Hall and we stayed for a night at 171 on High Motel which is opposite of the senior citizens hall.
D.Arrived very late. Had booked over phone and arranged for to be left open however owner still came out and greeted us. Room extremely clean and tidy. Definitely recommend!

J.The managers (Donna and Paul) are very friendly and couldn't do enough to make sure we had everything we needed and knew where to go in town. I was there for business and the location is an easy walk to the convention centre or town. The units are very clean and amenities provided are in great condition. Very happy with our choice to stay here.

J.Great recycling facilities and they didn't just take all the towels all everyday, wonderful. Very comfy bed and pillows, light room, warm, quality tea, enough wifi, even the light switch for the bed and the loo paper were within perfect reach. Extremely user friendly, comfortable, loved it.

M.I brought a group of touring travelers to 171 On High in May, 2019. All the rooms and keys were ready immediately upon check-in and the rooms were spotless. The hotel is in a good location, near the downtown shops and supermarkets and the rooms themselves are well-designed. The bed is firm and the kitchenette and bathroom are well-stocked and use-able. I would recommend 171 to anyone travelling through the Blenheim area. Of particular note, Donna is incredibly kind, helpful, and generous to her guests. My group felt very well taken care of.
R.The room was very clean and comfortable. It was a very hot weekend but opening up the windows easily made it nice and cool. Excellent location as it was a very short walk to town. Special thanks to Donna who was a fantastic host. As it was my first time in Blenheim she was very helpful and gave me great recommendations on what to see, do, eat and how to get around. Thank you for helping to make my trip relaxing and enjoyable :)
m.We found this hotel to be a very good treat! Our host, Donna, was very accommodating with advise on the next leg of our journey. She even mapped out a course of the North Island with our final destination, complete with travel times and tips! We were tired after a full day of travel and drove us to a lovely Chinese restaurant for dinner, with an offer to pick us up if needed. The restaurant wasn't too far away and it was a lovely walk back to the hotel. Our two-bedroom suite was exceptionally clean and the jetted bath tub was used to soak my bones after dinner. Our breakfast was delicious, our questions were answered and we were regretting not spending more time in that area. We have plans to visit NZ again and will definitely spend time in Blenheim and will be happy to stay at 171 On High Motel!

I'm a former local myself and so I was surprised to hear what has changed and what was still the same.
We enjoyed our chats to them. We got our room cleaned and refilled daily by the helpful and polite cleaning staff. The kids enjoyed patting their cats.
R.Great location close to shopping district, riverine parkland and within easy access of the airport. I've stayed on more than one occasion and always been comfortable.
Donna is very helpful; nothing seems to be too much trouble.
Rooms and Apartments are spacious and well appointed and most importantly, perfectly clean and well maintained.

M.Being from the states, I tend to read "motel" as "trashy hotel," but this cute motel was better than most hotel rooms. There is a kitchenette in the room that includes a microwave, which was useful for making a small dinner and breakfast. Free tea, coffee, and hot chocolate - the owners even give you fresh milk for drinks. It's owned by a lovely couple who are very friendly and can offer many suggestions for things to do. A nice amenity is their selection of DVDs that they let you watch for free. The DVD player was tricky to work though, as the remote wasn't able to control it, but we did watch a whole movie one night, a relaxing break from busy days of traveling and excursions. There's no AC, so it can get a bit stuffy in the room, but it's manageable with the fan provided and windows open. And it seems that almost no places in NZ have AC anyway. I do wish 171 on High had screens in the windows though to keep bugs from getting in. Two black cats roam the premises, one friendly and the other shy. You may just find them peering into your room or lounging around the parking lot. Nothing to fear unless you are deathly allergic to them. Overall, it's a very comfortable and welcoming place to stay.

B.It is very lucky to stay in this motel during lockdown due to Covid-19. We were there for 5 entire weeks and the experience was unforgettable.
It is unbelievably ready for long term stays, which quite surprised us because usually motel were designed for short term tourism- we gave all facilities good long test (except the cloth iron) and they are in a very good function. We cannot find anything that cause inconvenience for both short or long term guests. Make it short: the room is warm, large and everyone can enjoy staying for any period.
Started at day one of the lockdown the hosts Donna and Paul of this motel demonstrated their professional quality of hospitality and the highest awareness in terms of covid19 prevention. We were all safe and comfortable during the entire lockdown.
Highly recommend this motel, will stopby for a visit while I’m in Blenheim.
