E.Located close to the stadium and Christchurch railway station, this was the perfect location for an overnight stay. While it's a relatively basic motel and a little dated, it was comfortable and clean. A real bonus is that they offer a shuttle service to the railway station if catching an early morning train. Thus I would consider this perfect for anyone embarking on the Coastal Pacific or TranzAlpine journeys. There are shops and restaurants within easy walking distance at Addington. The only minor complaint is that it was difficult to get decent hot water in the shower. This could be because we stayed in the accessible room and other rooms may not have the same issue. Overall I would happily stay here again. Good price. Good service. Comfortable. Well located to town, Addington shops, stadium and Christchurch stadium.
T.Great place to stay. We did the Trans alpine and stayed here the night before and the night we returned. The room was clean and warm. Free shuttle provided be manager to and back from station. Walking distance to shops and eateries. Great service. Will stay again.thankyou.

D.Lovely layout as you enter with a personal touch of a personalised welcome card and chocolates. My room was clean and immaculate. Our hosts were warm and welcoming and nothing was a problem. Would definitely recommend as a place to stay.
S.Perfect for a short stay.
We were so pleased we found the Arena Motel!! Our room was large with plenty of light. It was spotlessly clean and well presented. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was more than adequate. The kitchen area had all the basics. The welcome we received was exceptional. Jessica met is at the train station at the end of our coastal train journey. She really was a wealth of information. Our luggage was stored while we traveled round South Island for a week which was a huge help. There were many repeat guests staying which is always a good sign. We highly recommend this accommodation.
L.I would like to thank Rafiq and his family for our wonderful stay and making us feel welcome. Our motel unit was very clean and the beds very comfortable. As we were taking a train trip, the motel offer a shuttle service to and from the motel. The Arena motel is also in walking distance to plenty of shops. I highly recommend staying at the Arena, and would stay there again.
A.No air con, guest laundry was for a very short time, only one washing machine and one dryer for whole site. Often staff used these machines. Guests could not get to do their clothes laundry. Other wise the rooms not bad.
J.During our recent stay travel plans were disrupted due to Covid. We were kindly driven to our new meeting place with very short notice. In my haste my phone was accidentally left in our room, this was kindly put away safely till our return. Our room was clean and comfortable, and
a lovely continental breakfast was delivered to our room prior to an early departure. I would definately chose to stay the Arena Motel should I return to Christchurch. Thank you for a lovely

A.I stayed here with about 15 others in my choir as we were travelling through Christchurch for one night. The rooms were clean and tidy and had everything we needed. And the host was very helpful - even getting up early in the morning and driving all our baggage to the train station for us. I would describe the room that I stayed in as affordable not luxurious. This is an excellent option for budget conscious travellers, and for groups.

Not meant as a criticism, but if you like your accommodation to be part of the experience of being away, there is nothing particularly spectacular about this motel - it is basic, but clean and a good place to stay if you're going to be out and about. Otherwise if you're just looking to hang around and enjoy your accommodation and pop down the road for something to eat etc, you would be bored here. Again not a criticism, it's just the type of motel. Would recommend.

Y.We planned to get here after 8pm but got here early,the lady at reception was lovely,showed us the room and wifi etc. Nice place to stay. The room is very tidy and clean. The bed is comfortable
M.A nice clean motel, with a friendly and helpful Motelier. Very handy to the railway station (with free transport there & back if travelling on the TransAlpine train journey).
The only negatives were - there was no air conditioning in the Unit resulting in it being too hot to have the windows closed, and too much road noise to have them open; and, a weak pressured and rather complicated shower system.

P.Looks like many other motels from the outside. Reception warm, friendly and efficient. The real winner is the specification, quality and maintenance of the rooms and equipment . No corners cut here, it's a professional operation. You won't regret staying here.
K.Stayed for 1 night after arriving in at Christchurch airport and before onward travel. The apartments have all needed furnishings, towels provided and the staff were welcoming. There are a number of small shops and restaurants in close proximity and the beginning of the city center is about 30 minutes walk.
S.Stayed here in 2017 for a night. Really handy if you're in town for a show or event at Horncastle Arena. All facilities are good, good parking, close to public transport, but a way from the CBD. Nice staff, and reasonable rates.

d.Stayed when we arrived in Christchurch after taking the Tranz Pacific train Picton to Christchurch - Arena motel collected us from the railway station & the next day took us back for our second rail journey Tranz alpine - Christchurch to Greymouth - also stayed at the Arena motel on our way back - highly recommend - we were collected both times by the motel which was really helpful; the accommodation is only a short 5 minutes drive from the railway station - quiet location yet several good restaurants within a short walk
