P.I have stayed at the Kauri Motel on Riccarton numerous times over the past 3 years. I always find the Host Niki very friendly and hospitable. The rooms are modern, clean and tidy. The spa bath in the room is a great place to relax after a day of travelling
The location is very handy to the Riccarton Mall which is across the road.👍

P.Awesome Motel awesome hosts in Bryan & Nicki they had the heat pump on and the room was lovely and warm after an 8hr drive. We have stayed here a couple of times now and plan to make it our Christchurch stop over. We stayed here for several nights and was pleased to be given a discount too. The rooms are clean, modern, small, and adequate for all levels of comfort. Large spacious super king bed, air-conditioning, plenty Sky channels. Very clean. Very modern, and the best mall in the south at your back door, Good security and ample secure parking, be back in September.

N.We had checked in to other accomodation with our 2 teenage daughters, which turned out to be less than satisfactory. We turned up at the Kauri Motel quite late, but Nicky was fantastic and helped us out with two beautiful rooms side but side. Fantastic amenities, very fresh, clean and modern. Changed our last 2 days in NZ from disappointing to wonderful. 😊
D.Brian and Nikki were absolutely fantastic hosts, they are extremely friendly and genuine motel owners who are working hard to make a lovely environment for guests. Wifi was free and unlimited, great air con, easy parking, fantastic location right across the road from the mall. Would highly recommend. Clean tidy, modern. Well done!!
T.Fantastic service. Nicky was awesome. Room was smallest I've had, showing its age, and quality is "middle". Bed was two singles put together so very uncomfortable and unable to spread out. Loo is literally 2 inches from bath. Bed is literally six inches from opening door, room so small the only place to put a bag is a foldable luggage stand because there's no room for a built in, there is a small desk, small kitchenette. On the plus side, nice alarm clock with USB chargers built in, a corner spa bath that works great, good shower with high pressure. If you're getting a cheap rate then ok, if not, look around.

The room was great as well and close to supermarlet and the park.

The motel had everything that I could have asked for. The best aspect about it was its location and close proximity, just opposite, to Westfield Riccarton mall. There are several restaurants at a walk-able distance on Riccarton Road.
Being on holiday, internet connectivity was important to me and the WiFi at the motel was very good. There was not one instance of a WiFi disconnection during my stay.
The room had a small kitchenette with utensils and a TV with Sky subscription. The bed and pillows were clean and comfortable and room service throughout my stay was immaculate. There was an air-con/heater in the room.
I cannot thank the motel owners, Bryan and Nicki, enough for their spectacular hospitality throughout my stay. They asked to ensure that I had a wonderful stay at Kauri motel. In a sense, they were representative of the well-known Kiwi hospitality. I would love to stay here again sometime in the future and would recommend this motel without hesitation to anyone looking for a homely stay in Christchurch.Thanks Nicki
A.It is a nice comfy place to stay.. the hosts Nicky and Brian were really friendly.. The maintenance of the room is very good and there are plenty of restaurants near by. Also it is just opposite to the Westfield Mall.. so it would be easy to get the things we want with a quick walk...

On reading the online reviews of this motel, I was a bit skeptical about how good it may be, but my fears were allayed during check-in, when I got to know that there was a change in management, just a week before I was there.
The motel had everything that I could have asked for. The best aspect about it was its location and close proximity, just opposite, to Westfield Riccarton mall. There are several restaurants at a walk-able distance on Riccarton Road.

There was an air-con/heater in the room. The motel had a laundry room which was mostly kept locked for security reasons, but we could notify the owners and use the laundry machines.
On few occasions, I could hear the sound of vehicles zooming past, but it wasn't much of a bother to me, considering all the advantages the motel's location provided.
I cannot thank the motel owners, Bryan and Nicki, enough for their spectacular hospitality throughout my stay. They asked me for regular feedback on areas of improvement and acted on my feedback to ensure that I had a wonderful stay at Kauri motel. In a sense, they were representative of the well-known Kiwi hospitality. I would love to stay here again sometime in the future and would recommend this motel without hesitation to anyone looking for a homely stay in Christchurch.
