G.The photos do not do it justice, this place is a hidden paradise. So secluded, peaceful, and absolutely stunning! We stayed at the Ashley Mackenzie villa, where we also had our elopement ceremony (if you are looking at the elopement package, do consider upgrading to the AMV!!). The villa is impeccable and the staff are so friendly and helpful (a special thank you to Thatianna)! The food was to die for (and the chef, Rafa, was so knowledgeable and friendly!), with all dietary requirements carefully taken care of. And of course, our wedding day was nothing perfect - Anna was a superstar from our very first email exchange and all through to our special day, being so attentive - she made everything so easy for us! If you are looking for an elopement package around Mackenzie, look no further - this is it! We had the most relaxing time, arriving to a lovely bottle of champagne and massages booked, incredible meals delivered to us, the most incredible local celebrant and flowers... it was everything we expected and beyond. Thank you, team! :)
J.The mount cook Lakeside retreat is a beautiful place to hear yourself when in the Mackenzie country.
The villas a beautifully quiet, the open fire and heated floors kept it warm in the middle of a winter snowy southerly, and the provided meals were excellent.
But the real highlight was sitting in the outdoor hot pool under the Milky way.

Outstanding in every way. Location, facilities, food, ambience and most importantly the staff and the management. A not to be missed visit or you will regret it.
We arrived early because of weather but nothing was a problem to anyone.
We were also lucky enough to meet the owner (Luke) who made an effort to visit us to make sure all was well. This attitude shows why the staff are so friendly and efficient

The grounds are very pretty. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Each meal was devine and very fresh, Flavours, so tasty!!
Loved waking up and peeling back the curtains for sunrise and hot tubing underneath the stars.

I.Amazing facilities. Lodges are just beautiful! Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Meals delivered personally by chef. Full marks for making a huge effort to cater for odd dietary requirements and going the extra mile. Personal touch to everything. Highly recommended. We will be back :)
W.Wonderful villa overlooking the valley in the dark sky preserve. Not at light to be seen once the sun went down. Dinner was delivered to the villa for our private dining pleasure. Unfortunately the sky clouded over so we could not partake in the star gazing with the onsite telescope. Sadly we only spent 1 night as we were traveling north to the ferry to Wellington. This would be a great place to spend a couple of nights to relax & unwind.

T.Mt Cook Lakeside Retreat exceeded all expectations. The HUGE villa is probably one of the most luxurious places I've stayed with my partner and the view overlooking Lake Pukaki is second to none. The hot-tub went down extremely well and was a great way to soak in the views. Luke and Kaye are the perfect hosts. Friendly, welcoming and accommodating yet not intrusive. They were there when needed otherwise you don't see them at all. The home-made touches are special. Everything from the dinner - a 3 course meal thats worthy of being served up in a nice restaurant, to the delicious fresh fruit cake presented upon arrival to the home-made muesli and jams. We decided to dine out on our second night and Kaye recommended Shawty's in Twizel which was a 10 min drive away. It did not disappoint although if we'd known the food was going to be that good at the Retreat, we would have been happy to dine in for a second night. If you're looking for some serious R&R with complete privacy and mesmerising views then look no further than to the Mt Cook Lakeside Retreat.
J.The name luxury lodge says it all, this place is pure paradise. Stunning villa made for the most discerning of guests. A private and exclusive residence with breathtaking views. We were made to feel extremely welcome and were catered for to the highest degree. Couldn't recommend higher.
O.The onsite Observatory is integrated into an underground wine cellar where you can combine telescope viewing and astrophotography with a selection of some of New Zealand's best wines and gourmet nibbles. Just try it.
