It's a warm well kept place with nice gardens. A bonus feature. Your Internet shopping is safe. All Couriers drive to the office. So you don't have to hover around the gate all day or set up a collection point. Wonderful place with many good points other people have mentioned in their reviews.

A great place to live your own shower, own toilet, your own walk in wardrobe, and a massive queen bed,what else do you need.

I recently moved to Christchurch from Wellington and stayed at Wigram lodge for 3 weeks. I highly recommend the establishment. It was clean, and comfortable with all amenities well serviced. The management team of Julie and Jenny are two of the most gracious and helpful people I have met in a long time. If you are an independent person looking for safe accommodation then you cant go wrong here .

For me it is the perfect place to stay. I sold my place with the view of down sizing and staying here in the meantime. It is so convenient I have decided to stay for the foreseeable future. It is very safe with video surveillance and after hours security staff. It is very clean, warm and quiet. Conveniently close to Hornby and Wigram shopping malls and a block of local shops within a few hundred metres. The garden and the buildings are well maintained and the office ladies and other staff are fabulous. Very welcoming, friendly and helpful. You can keep to yourself if you prefer or if you like to socialise - there are plenty of friendly and interesting people to talk to if you go down to the courtyard or lounges. I highly recommend the lodge - long or short term 😊

Hi I lived at the lodge for more than 9 years. I find it a very safe place to live, thanks to all the staff and the cameras. The staff are all very helpful and friendly, they go out of there way help with any problems. The rooms are tidy and warm. The showers , toilets and kitchens are keep very clean and by the cleaners.The grounds are tidy and clean. It is a good place to live. There is new carpet being put in the rooms and hallways. The kitchens have being renovated and look good.

As a frequent visitor from Germany, for me this is the perfect accommodation. It's safe (video surveillance), clean, warm, very quiet with modern amenities. It"s so convenient, with intersections in every direction accessible within 5 minutes, 2 shopping malls around the corner. Living in the city with the tranquility of rural NZ. The garden and the premises altogether and well looked after by Jenny, Julie, Stan and Steven. They are a great team. Especially, from a visitor"s point of view, you get to know the real New Zealand, with it"s ups and downs and they really make you feel like a Kiwi! Since over 10 years now I've been staying at the Lodge and I consider it as my home and base when I"m in the country. Will have to leave again in 2 weeks, but for me there"s no better choice for next season. Looking forward to 2021!

Staff are friendly and the place is quiet and warm. Amenities are kept clean. Good security on site. Plenty of people to chat to or keep to yourself. Good for long or short stay. Easy access to shops and the malls a short distance away.

Just moved in. Very secure and safe it seems from the tenants and staff. Not a motel, more accommodation for single people or couples who need a place to stay. Rent covers cleaning services of share toilet blocks and shower rooms. Ideal if your a shift worker and don't want the hassle of rosters or dealing with flatmates. You get a room with or without a ensuite.

For what is available and at it's price point I think this is a great place. I was unsure what to expect before I arrived but I was genuinely surprised. The area is beautiful with parks, mall and supermarkets all nearby. The property itself is massive but well maintained and the staff really do have your best interests at heart. The rooms aren't breathtaking but they're functional and secure and the communal areas are cleaned regularly. I have been here 3 weeks and I'm quite content to stay for a while longer.

I lived at Wigram Lodge for almost 10 weeks while my house was having earthquake repairs done. I found it to be a very safe, clean and comfortable place to live with friendly staff and fellow lodgers. It is also affordable compared to motels which was important when the builder took longer than insurance had allowed for!

I have stayed at Wigram Lodge twice now, once for two years and the second time for one month. I found it to be a very safe, clean and comfortable place to live with very friendly staff (Jenny and Julie, Stan) It is also very affordable compared to motels or rental accommodation in Christchurch. There are no long term contracts which makes it so much more convenient especially if you want short term accommodation. The second stay, it was so popular I had difficulty getting a room but Jenny and Julie looked after me and found me a short term room, I cant thank them enough. Mike

Was at the Lodge for just over a year. Staff always helpful & friendly. Room was quite comfortable especially over the winter months with the central heating. Facilities were good and noted that they were cleaned regularly. Lodge rules were enforced.

I am approaching my 10th year at the Lodge, completely love it here, very warm and secure and have great staff who go the extra mile. Its handy to my work, and all amenities now that the Landing shopping precinct is so close. Completly recommend you wont find cheaper accommodation that has all the amenities and power included. Thanks to the owner, and the J's in the office, security Stan and Steve!

This place works for me! Great staff, want help, just ask they are there. I've found to be VERY kind, HELPFUL, accommodating, straight up ladies! I love that. It's clean and tidy, 24 hours security, guards and camera's, rule's with boundries, very private, choices of an onsuite or single room's, either or are spacious. Security are helpful too (I've found) Wigram Lodge is essential to "EVERYTHING" bus stops, walking distance to The Hornby Mall, Wigram Skys, doctor's etc. CHEAP too...Kia Ora

I needed medium term accommodation and Wigram Lodge has proved for me to be a nice place to live. Communal areas are cleaned daily the refurbishment of existing amenities including kitchens is well underway and are modern. The people who staff the lodge are friendly and helpful.

I have worked at Wrigram Lodge for over eight years now and have lived at lodge on and off find it a great place. The lodge is always clean and tidy.Staff are helpful always going that little bit extra to make your stay more comfortable. As for working at the lodge staff work as a team recommend it

It's all good, lots of people past through. Most keep to themselves, women & men . Cheap rent $1.80 for single room. $2.20 with an ensuite . All cooking in big communal kitchen. 2 sky lounges and one gym . Nice and warm place for the winter

I can't stand this place, but I have to live here, as have nowhere else to live, can't afford another place, nothing under $220 per week anywhere, and nothing bigger than 1 small bedroom e.g no whole houses to rent, with spare rooms for my children, back yard, no other nosey flatmates/tenants, no privacy. All homes now apparently are only given to couples, working in full-time employment, than own their own business's, manage businesses, have huge salary's/hourly rates. The real estates/tenancy management these days seems to always be changing their rules, just like the all these newer sub contracting/ commercial company's, in employment, they just want to make life so difficult for people to have constant comfortable employment, and constant comfortable accommodation. Why do we get put where we don't necessarily belong, yet so many others are put right in front of you in the places they think they deserve to be, but haven't even learnt those positions? Seems a bit confusing, don't you think?

I have been at wigram lodge for about 3 months now i have found it to be a great place to live. The staff Jenny – Manager Julie – Office Manager Steve & Stan - Security David & Stan - Maintenance are very friendly each time they see you they ask you how you how. I have also found wigram lodge a great place to meet new people and make new friends. The rooms are very good to live in. I would also like to say the new kitchens look great and the new carpit in the sound tv room looks great keep the good work up team. So if you are looking for a place to live come to wigram lodge as you will feel welcome my jenny and her team. I would also like to say the the gardens are look great as well it is all the work Dave has put into the grounds. I also feel safe at night knowing we have stan and steve on security they do an great job as well i do hope that if you are reading this review and you need a place that you make wigram lodge you first place. Great place to live in, it's quite, everyone is kind, friendly and respectful also everyone minds their own business. Awesome staff as well.

I moved to Christchurch 4 months ago and needed somewhere to live close to the job I found in Hornby and Wigram Lodge was only 3 ks from work so I moved in. I enjoy living here as it is very secure and the staff are friendly plus the rooms are quite big so you don't feel like youre in a small box-basically it has everything you need to live comfortably.

Nice and clean, friendly stuff! I spent 6 months here, and I can recommend this place! Nice and worm in the winter, enough facilities, close to the bus and the shops.Hornby mall is not very far too.
