c.We could not fault this hotel. We stayed with our 5 month old baby for 3 nights. They supplied the baby cot and bedding and their carpark was very convenient. Our room also had a washing machine and drier which is very handy with a baby! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The housekeepers did a great job each day. The whole hotel was very clean. We would definitely stay here again!
B.Went for "high tea" to celebrate a 95th birthday. Absolutely great. Food beautifully presented, AND yummy; staff were wonderful; the bathrooms are immaculate; there's parking available. Absolutely recommend for a pleasant afternoon. Thanks Distinction

A.Rooms are well appointed and generously sized. The buffet food was cold. No one likes cold bacon, sausages and scrambled eggs. Service was was great and lovely staff…
J.Love this place. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Particularly my last visit where i was making my way home after covid level changes announcement and i couldnt get an earlier flight. They understood my situation and accomodated me to stay in my room until i needed to get to the airport, saving me from waiting hours. Rooms are also always so clean and comfortable too. Thank you :)

M.Staff up beat and friendly is the most noticeable asset. I don't think they will win any awards for views and daycore, rooms are large clean. Our 2 bedroom was anyway, seem to be fair value for money.
The house Restaurant was not a bad feed. Again not sure about the daycore . But after along day, it was nice to sit down in the large batwing chairs, relax and have or meals.
Will stay here again when I'm here next time
C.Expected more to be honest. Standard hotel really. Box standard kitchenette and cupboards, nice bed. Shame they didn't seam to keep more of the original architecture. Amazing linen to be honest, very comfortable and soft
J.Location is minutes walk to restaurants. Rooms were of 4.5 to 5 star quality. We recently stayed at the Hilton and thought these rooms were better. This is not a 3 star Hotel we would give it a 4 star. The bathrooms have a washing machine and dryer with a large shower. Great black out Curtians too! We would highly recommend this place.
V.We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in one of the Executive Suites recently. The room was spacious & warm, loved the big bath & the bed was the most comfortable I think I've ever slept in! All the features you'd expect in a top class hotel.
S.Luxurious room decor, fluffy pillows and comfortable bed with rich, warm duvet. Bathroom fixtures and push button rain shower and hand-held option was awesome. Room air conditioning silent. Kitchenette and washer and drying. Restaurant room service dinner was exquisite. Wished I had booked an extra night.

We went to the Parcels Restaurant downstairs. What a place!!.We met some wonderful people there especially
Sharan, Restaurant Manager, (our new bestie) Peter Waiter and Paris our waitress Wow, the food was amazing, hot nicely presented and of course delicious.
The rooms were warm cost and very comfortable.
Our only regret it not being to enjoy this place more.

Be careful with resturant over priced very average food, poor service . Ordered rib eye steak was given sirloin steak and charged the extra, ordered the pepper sauce but got mushroom sauce with no apology. The meal should have come with salad and this was a teaspoon of micro herbs on top of meal. Staff not interested in any customers at all had to wait and remind for dessert and drink service was next to none, got tired of waiting and went to bar for own drinks. Duty manager was micro managing with no interest. Would not stay again due to resturant .
J.Amazing rooms with all the amenities. Meals were superb and good value. Breakfast buffet had all you could want and catered for all tastes as well as a breakfast menu if thats what you wanted.

D.The room was very comfortable, room very warm. Plenty of complementary items, shampoo, conditioner, tea, coffee, sewing kit, shoe shine, body lotion plus more, the ham and cheese toasty delish. I will definitely recommend staying at this hotel. Staff very friendly, oh the buffet breakfast very good, restaurant food and service was excellent. Only negative comment, purchased a glass of wine and was disappointed in the amount of wine in glass for the price, only bought one. Lastly, room was very clean (spotless)
T.Wow! Just wow! This hotel is amazing! We loved the in room washer/dryer, and it’s close proximity to the city center! Though there’s an extra $20 daily flat fee for parking, the hotels own undercover car park building feels super secure and safe to park our cars there!
M.Stayed with family , Great location, rooms very spacious and nicely decorated with new furnishings. Very clean quiet and warm. The washing machine, drier and kitchen facilites in the room are also fantastic. Good value for money. Will definetly be back to stay. Well done Distinction Dunedin!
I.With options for private dining in a historical vault amazing. One of the most comfortable beds and room for a young family to enjoy themselves. Central location for easy access to nightlife or stadium.

Need to do something with toast making facilities at breakfast ( a common problem in NZ hotels )
A.No doubt a hive of inactivity when it was the central post office, the transformation has been very successful. It’s a very good four star hotel with impeccably clean rooms, comfortable beds and a sensational shower! It also boasts an excellent gym.
D.Beautiful hotel to stay at and the hotel staff at front desk were fabulous till we had to go for b/fast in the morning, then turned to disaster as we stood there waiting for the lady on the cash register to do her stuff before acknowledging our presence and showing us where to seat and finally for the service staff.......a smile would've been great for starters (very poor customer services skills in restaurant). The food was great so thanks to the chef.

K.Wow!! What a wonderful hotel. My husband and I stayed as a treat for my birthday. The room was beautiful, it was lovely & clean and the complimentary toiletries etc were all a very nice surprise. The staff were super friendly & extremely helpful, including suggesting taking advantage of the valet parking as we had our dog with us. We were able to leave the sunroof open for him happy in the knowledge he was in a secure compound. Thank you so much Distinction Hotel you completely bowled over & exceeded my expectations!!
Y.Really good. All the little details you expect at a nice hotel. I'm only giving it 4 stars because valet parking should be included. We paid $20 per day, which is not a ton, but it could have been included in the hotel fee and the perceived value would have outweighed the cost. I liked the bath robes and slippers. The double shower was also a nice addition. A cool view of the city and a spacious room made for the perfect 2 night stay in the city. The location is hard to beat, close to multiple cafes and restaurants. I would stay here again if I came to Dunedin in the future.
J.We love the Distinction when we stay in Dunedin. Beds are amazing! Room service & restaurant staff are fantastic. Only downside is sometimes reception staff are hit & miss. Although had a lovely experience this morning. Keep up the good work.
D.I am usually here for work & I certainly enjoyed the bed which was very comfortable & the shower was great. However when I ordered room service, I was very disappointed with the caesar salad, to be quite honest it was not worth the cost & I did explain this to room service & the only response I got was to take it up with reception in the morning. I wont be ordering room service again after this first time experience.
Z.Recommend by a local and I am grateful for it. It is all you can expect from luxury hotel. Great service at arrival, spacious room with all bells and whistles including 50" TV, rain shower head, big bath tub and all the way up to sensor activated light in wardrobe closet. And there's a wine fridge too. And there's biscuits and chocolate to enjoy with your coffee or tea. Definitely a place I want to stay in when coming to Dunedin.
P.5 star throughout our stay there. Huge gym on 3rd floor and best of all a washing machine and a clothes dryer in our bathroom. Friendly staff and great location for everything in town. Definitely recommended.

A.The one bedroom suites are luxurious. Keep an eye out for their winter specials. Easily the best hotel in Dunedin and superb food and service. Couldn't fault my stay (except the Hurricanes lost to the Highlanders).
T.Lovely hotel, the young concierge in the afternoon was very helpful & polite. This was the 2nd Distinction hotel we had stayed in & they have both been lovely. Breakfast time plenty to choose from & the hotel is centrally placed in the city. Would recommend indeed.
S.For a room with the large King size bed and a great bathroom, some places would be able to match it for the price, but not for quality. With my first stay here I was warned of the dust and that wasn't an issue for me. The work still continues and I'm sure it will be spectacular like the room I stayed in. The washing machine and dryer I love as this works well if you need to wash the shirt your wearing, because sometimes you forget things...
m.Very pleasant surprise. We booked "family suit" not only did it have a separate bedroom for our son but a washer dryer!. Hotel is in a converted government building, well appointed and very comfortable. Well located to get around the city.

A.Brand new hotel, still being finished in some parts. Fabulously appointed, and very attentive staff. 2 shower heads in the shower (I love a good shower). Parking is a bit of an issue while they build the parking building, so you may want to take advantage of the valet parking service.

S.From the moment you open your door and see your bed looking like shrine in the centre of the room, you can see why people love to stay here. The veiw is fabulous and the bathrooms are opulent. The restaurant, Parcels, has great food and sell worth a visit. Being in the centre of everything you are able to walk around town easily.

T.This place is amazing, it’s only a few years old so everything is nice. Valet parking noticed I had a flat tyre so they changed it for me! That doesn’t happen anywhere anymore. Room, restaurant and food all lovely! Can’t wait to stay again

K.The location is very good, close to the center of Dunedin - if you know what to do there. But it's also close to the Speight's brewery where you can book a nice trip through.
The hotel is old aged, but renovated not long time ago. The kingsize beds are comfortable.
The breakfast is OK, but book it with your room, I think it's cheaper.
Parking is not the best, but they have some slots in a parking garage nearby for 15$.
Summary: good quality, good price.

C.Very warm in an otherwise very cold city. Room service menu is dire. Also, they wrap their soap in plastic and cardboard. Rooms and staff are very lovely.
