S. M.Wharakauhau Lodge is an awesome experience. We flew in via Wellington Helicopters. This was an experience, a great one. A great flight. The food at Wharakahau Lodge is absolute world class. The moment Audrey greeted us upon arrival for lunch with a glass of bubbles, we knew it was going to be very special. Victoria our waitress and wine expert gave us exceptional service. She was extremely plesant to deal with. Made us feel very welcome. Her wine knowledge was fantastic. Wharakauhau Lodge is stunning. Do not hesitate to go here.

l. d.I recently had the privilege to dine at Wharekauhau Estate for lunch with some very lucky clients. The trip started with an incredible helicopter flight from Wellington docklands, over the Rimutaka Mountain range, and down into the Wairarapa. Seeing the Wairarapa for the first time by air was breathtaking, and views out to the sea were just beautiful. We landed on the lawn in front of the Estate about noon and were greeted by the Manager with a complimentary tray of bubbles. why not!? We felt like royalty, this place is very special. We were ushered to the formal lounge to enjoy our bubbles while we waited for the rest of our party to land on the second helicopter. We all sat there admiring the incredible view before us out across the lawn and beyond to Palliser Bay. The mere position of this Lodge alone would score 5 stars! Soon lunch was ready, a choice of 4 entrees and mains (party of 18) ranging from Rabbit to Seafood to Lamb (yum!!) and Steak. No one out of the party of 18 were disappointed! after lunch we had time to explore the Lodge, upstairs an amazing games room, and an even better Men's cigar room, fantastic. The Manager also showed us the accommodation, just in case, one day we bring our sweethearts back, just magic, I hope to do so one day. Wonderful day, an experience we will never forget!
