N.Well set up with lots of ablutions. Great location, if you don't mind a few bangs from the port and the sound of waves. Right on the beach, right by town. Would've rated it a 5 except the customer service could've been a bit brighter (sorry I pride myself on excellent customer service). Stayed in our motorhome at a powered site so no comment on the units.
J. H.We stayed here for one night. Location is great being near the beach. Pool and play facilities for the kids good. But showers are small and everywhere needs a key card. Just makes it all feel less 'free'. The major downer was that the site was super packed. The sites are small and everyone there had packed the kitchen sink. Just felt too crowded.
W. L.Awesome Top10 Holiday Park by Waikanae Beach in Gisborne. We stayed for 2 nights in a 2 bedroom unit and wished we stayed for longer as we didn't have time to enjoy the swimming pool. Excellent facilities and is located close to everything, but very quite. Handy for a stroll along the beach after dinner!
L. T. S.We made a last minute decision to book a night here and so happy we picked Waikanae Top 10. From the lovely young man who was so warm/friendly during our phone interaction to the awesome lady that served me - she covered everything clearly, she too had a very warm/welcoming vibe about her. Staff were awesome. We had a perfect spot, as it was close to the showers/bathroom and right in front of the ocean 😍 it was raining that night/early morning but could still hear the waves crashing. Very clean facilities, only thing is, you have to press the security buttons for the bathroom really firm!
J. t. T. P.We stayed at Waikanae Beach Top 10 Holiday Park sometime September. They have very good facilities, particularly the kitchen. There's a swimming pool, a games room, and a tennis court (which was awesome!). Plus, it was just a stone's throw from the beach. Based on our stay, they need to be more particular with the cleanliness of the rooms and bathroom (i.e. wiping surfaces more effectively). Other than that, we still recommend this holiday park if you are ever visiting Gisborne.

D. C.A huge thanks to management on a great stay. It was a concert weekend lots of young adults o ly one group needed reminding of camp rules after 10pm and management ( especially the lady on reception that hunts) took time to see the lads. As for all those young concert goers that stayed I have huge respect and thanks for a great ( quiet) night on concert night. We will be back Dave and Julie Cook.

J. l.I was going to give 5 star for this review, if only one particular customer service representative had of been more appropriate with her mannerism, speaking to Jackie on 2 separate occasions in regards to 2 different MATTERS, her concerns about both were,"WELL WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO ABOUT IT, SHOULD I REALLY CARE BECAUSE I REALLY DON'T THINK THAT I WANT TO CARE..OR COULD I EVEN BE BOTHERED.
Apart from that, great place for my son's and their friend. Other reception staff ladies were amazing, polite and friendly.
J. T.Excellent place to stay as you can choose between campsites, cabins or motels. This park is situated right on the beach, 1k from the city and 1k from the supermarket, if you need anything. The facilities are clean and tidy and the staff really helpful. I'd definitely stay again.

BUT! I can't understand why these places use the thinnest toilet paper they can get.

E. M.We stayed in a campsite here over a busy holiday weekend. Great location right next to the beach and shops / cafe on the street. Very good security and we always felt safe there. Shared shower & toilet block for camping but also individual cabins available. Shared kitchen is basic and need to bring your own pots, cutlery etc. But these can be hired. Games room and TV room also available for kids. Free WiFi all over the site, body boards and other equipment also available for rent.
A. S.This is one of my favourite Top10 holiday parks due to the fact that is on a stunning beach it's close to the shops and restaurants and the site itself is very clean and well run. The facilities are spotless, the showers the best and so hot and with fast running water. It's really got it all with tennis courts pedal bikes, surf and paddle board hire and even a lilt shed that sells amazing ice creams and hot dogs and waffles! The space on the site is well spaced and you regularly see staff attend to whole of the site. It's a clean well organised and friendly site which I highly recommend.

With everything from a tv lounge and also a movie room with picture theatre seats & air hockey & pingpong table you can get the kids off the tablets & get some hands on fun & also the choice of 2 kitchen areas you will be spoilt for choice. K. H.New swimming pool since we were last here. Very well maintained. Unfortunately there's a main road adjacent and the constant 24/7 noise from logging trucks meant very little sleep.
(Edit) Upgrading to 4* as the road noise faded to background after a few nights. People on the beach side of the camp had better sleep.
P. C. R.It's well situated, being close to the beach and the city centre. It provides amenities such as tennis courts, pool and bbq.
I had my food stolen or taken by mistake in the fridge inside the kitchen. Reported to the staff and didn't hear even an apology. My suggestion is that food could be required to be stored in containers, as it's a rule in Waipatiki camping, for example.
Garbage was being dumped before 7 am, so every morning we were wakened up by a big trash car being taken to the trash bin more than 4 times before 7. It isn't nice to go to a place to relax and be waken up like this every single day.
A. P.We were here in our motorhome on Anzac Day and we enjoyed our stay here. The park has cool amenities which our toddler loved and a stunning view of the ocean. We also loved the hot showers that were available, there are plenty of shower stalls available, unlike other holiday parks, which was great! The management was also friendly and lenient when we checked out at 10:30am instead of the standard 10am limit. Would definitely stay here if we visit Gisborne in the future.
D. C.The Waikanae holiday park was just awesome! They have a jumping pillow, swimming pool, playground and games room for kids as well as putting on a movie night with free popcorn over Christmas and New Years. This is in addition to being beach front and centrally located to town! We put up a tent for 2 nights, had a fabulous time with great clean facilities and the staff were just superb and friendly. Best holiday park I’ve been to and more reasonable than any other camp ground on the east coast!!!
R. P.It's a nice place for kids in the motel rooms but definitely lacking with no Sky TV and limited slow WiFi (500MB per device) that resulted in us spending an extra. $20 for 5GB of data. The outside playground is good on nice days and being right on the beach means there is plenty to do for 1or 2 days. Cleaning needs attention as we found hair on the bathroom floor and some stains on the bedding. Staff are lovely and happy to help. Also to use the games room you need to post extra per game, for ping pong you even have to purchase your own ball for $2 each. Overall we feel the motel rooms are ok for a single night, maybe 2 nights but any longer will be difficult. Not great value for money unfortunately.

S.Right on the beach and walking distance from downtown, spacious sites, a large game and TV room with vintage cinema seating, two large kitchen blocks with outdoor eating area and a public tennis court. The place is impeccably clean and the shower and toilet block is very large with plenty of showers and toilets. They had issues with freeloaders so the place is secured with security cards which give you access to the front gate as well as the facilities and even the fridges. You can rent a surfboard at the reception. I added this place to my favourites on Google Maps.
E.Nice location on the waterfront and within easy walking distance of downtown, but a bit pricey. Facilities are a bit run down for the price, half the common areas (main kitchen, tv room) are closed since it's no longer peak season, and the free wifi is pretty bad if you need to upload photos. Campground layout isn't the best either with long walks from the end to the kitchen, and even farther to go out the front gate and around to actually get to the beach. They've also had problems with some of the locals using the park facilities and stealing items, so the park is surrounded by barbed wire and all the bathrooms/kitchens need a keycard to enter. For being right on the waterfront, it's a bit difficult to actually get to the beach since all the side gates are bolted and locked. Not a bad place to stay by any means, but is a bit expensive for what it is and has some strange quirks which bring it down to 3 stars.

Lost sleep due to noisy neighbours, but staff were helpful about this. Loved USB charging ports in the room. Had the downstairs sky TV to myself for watching a sports game.

M. S.This has to be one of the most well equipped holiday park in NZ. from the reception at the gate, to the service provided by staff. each and everyone of you gets a thumbs up. Even the campers seemed happier. This was indeed an asset to new Zealand, and you could feel what integral part it played in the health of the nation. Satellite images would not reveal this cells workings, interior to a body deep within the world pulsating to the likes of happy campers.
I ventured here sometime before the new year 2019. Having had quite some experiences in other camp grounds, this one really said something about NZ and I felt the heart beat of the nation in the kiwiness of this place.
The nature of experience itself, like complex molecular proteins that are zipped and unzipped, added to, or folded to form arrangements that give rise to strength so too in experiences, broadly speaking, we strengthen human resolve and bolster the human heart. we are indeed much like the cell.
While oddly, there are defective things taking place at cellular level, in a way lesser experiences serve to inject a little energy into this cell, I say cell but I mean experience, and when the time comes for a truer experience, then we are normalised and passed into life.

R. S.Great central location, friendly helpful staff, pool was well maintained, convenient hiring of SUP/kayak and trikes for the kids, easy to use laundry and plenty of room in the cabin we were in! Will happily return on our next visit to Gizzy :)
J. E.Great location right next to the beach. The price for a site (one adult) is very reasonable. Lots of stuff for the kids to do and the water is safe for swimming.
A. N.Look. This is a bare minimum to a decent night's sleep. In your room, you'll find a couple of mugs and the smallest shelf space to prepare for your next day. Need a spoon? Have this plastic one that explodes into a million splinters when you use it. We don't believe in metal spoons here. Single use disposables please! Got any kids? No? Well you're likely to adopt them by the end of your stay. Just when you thought you could get away from all the children playing, the couple's cabins back onto a road which services the major port of the town..so you guessed it. Trucks.
B. P.Great location, well organised and friendly staff. We stayed in a motel unit which was clean, quiet and everything worked well. Only complaints are that the bed was a bit soft for my liking and there was no oven in the kitchen (microwave only).
From the campsite you can walk or cycle into town. Good take-away across the road that has some essentials like milk and bread, otherwise Pak n Save and The Warehouse are an easy walk or bike away.
K. B.Great sea views and range of amenities. Toilet stalls are quite narrow in the amenities block. Key card security is a great feature until you forget your card and have to go back for it.
E. V. H.The advert say that they clean the unit we rent. Replace towels. Do the beds. Clean the kitchen on a daily basis. I had to ask them to do the beds when we were on the way out. When we got back to our unit later the day the kitchen was untouched.
C. G.A pleasant stay overnight in basic /budget cabin accommodation. Has shared kitchen, shared tv room, and shared toilet/shower block. Room has a double bed bunk with single bed on top. The bed needs to be made up - sheet and duvet provided. Mattress only just ok, a bit too thin for my liking. Towels cost extra. Heater and Jug provided, but will need to use the shared kitchen to fill up. Provide your own milk or coffee - or pay extra. Key access to your room and access swipe fob for everywhere else. Overall you get what you pay for.
K. Y.I stayed at an ensuite cabin in May 2015. Everything was fairly clean considering it was a holiday Park. And everything was as advertised. It was 65 dollars for the night, seems a little expensive for what I got. I had to go buy a multi plug to use the heater and change the phone at the same time as there was only one power point. My biggest gripe is the cleaning staff who played music loudly at 9am while cleaning adjacent cabins... Despite all, I would stay there again.

M. N.This place has definitely had an upgrade of awesome proportions for that summer time walk along Waikanae Beach - out to Te Oneroa ā Hinehākirirangi - Midway Beach & back.. Go diving out at the Reef - when there are no Ships docked at the Wharf.. Waikanae also has the Surf Rescue Club right there so no worries 'Swim between the Flags!'
C. E.One thing i do love about gisborne is the beaches waikanae holiday park couldnt be closer to the beach. captain Morgan's across the road and a quick walk up to town. Our unit was clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Checking in we were meet with friendly staff.

R. ..This is one of the hidden jems in the world, the beach is great for swimming with a nice break for body surfing, the beach has lovly walk both along the beach and along the river that feeds into the beach
