A beautiful cottage, just so relaxing after a hard day at golf. We loved the peaceful surroundings , very little passing traffic. The cottage is really well appointed from kitchen to lovely bedrooms. Thank you Kylie for being so accommodating with us. We all loved the visit to the home gardens and hearing history of the farm. We are planning our next trip. !

Our little family thoroughly enjoyed staying at Rangitikei Farmstay. We opted to stay in The Cottage for some privacy and we were not disappointed. The place was cozy, like a home away from home. The interior was tasteful, and was very comfortable. We loved waking up to the sounds of the birds and sheep. Even sitting outside on the deck feels relaxing. Our daughter especially loved the book corner with kids' books (bookworm, yes).
Despite it raining on and off, we managed to take the self-guided tour of the farm. We got lost twice and didn't make it to the picnic table, but we did reach a different peak and were rewarded with views of the lush hills and farm. The downhill walk back to the cottage was fun according to our three year old daughter (thanks to the mud and us slipping/sliding while walking).
Meeting the farm animals was another adventure. Our daughter loved the experience of brushing the ponies before riding one of them. She also got to help feed the other horses, sheep and chickens. She was also smitten with the farm's newest puppy, Ruby!
Kylie was welcoming and accommodating. From talking to her, you'll feel her love and passion for the farm animals, doing everything they can as a family to give them a good life. Thank you for having us! We had a wonderful time!

The Cottage was a wonderful spot to enjoy a slow weekend with the family. Beautiful property. Lovely surroundings, we went for a walk around the farm to a hill top. And Kylie is fantastic, we had a fun walk around their gardens and animals up at their house. Heaps of room if you're a group of 8, we were just 4. Marton (10mins nearby) also nice to visit, and great playground.

We loved our long weekend at the Rangitikei Farmstay cottage. Beautiful surroundings and great weather. Such a great spot for everybody to unwind. The children ran up and down the rolling hills watching the new lambs and loved their pony ride on Blackberry. Would highly recommend!

Our family of four had a wonderful time at the Rangitikei Farmstay. The cottage was cosy (especially with the fireplace), clean, comfortable, very cute, and very private. It was in a beautiful rural setting. We enjoyed our tour of the farm; in particular our 2 year old liked the hen and the strawberry patch!

Great place, really tranquil if trying to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Kids loved it and loved exploring the farm, chatting to the animals and going for long walks. Look forward to visiting again soon.

The amenities are well-maintained. Spectacular location in middle of the hills. Hygiene was well taken care of. A holiday wonderfully spent with the host Kylie who took us off on a Pony ride for the toddler and also ran us through the nitty-gritties of the countryside farm life.

The Cottage at the Rangitikei Farmstay was like a home away from home. It was not only a beautiful little cottage set in amongst some gorgeous NZ scenery but it had everything we needed for a comfortable and relaxing weekend away. The renovated cottage was immaculately presented and finished with personal touches of fresh flowers and chocolates. Comfortable beds, electric blankets, heatpump and open fire made it a cozy mid-winter get-away. Kylie was the perfect host, checking in with us to make sure we didnt need anything to make our stay more enjoyable and introducing us to the friendly farm animals. The Rangitikei farmstay is the perfect place for a weekend away with the family, a girls weekend, romantic weekend away or a boys weekend. A little slice of paradise in the gorgeous Rangitikei!!!

We stayed at the newly renovated cottage and the experience was beautiful. We had our own place and yet within walking distance to the main farmstay bunkhouse. Our wonderful host Kylie showed us around the farm and we got the opportunity to taste fresh farm produce and spent time with the animals. We could feel that Kylie and family took care of the land and everything on it with love and respect (for four generations). It's a truly amazing experience and we believe it's what NZ farmstay is all about.

The cottage had everything we needed. It was clean, beautifully presented and so close to home. It was warm and spacious. It had lots of quant aspects such as the recycled animal troughs in the laundry. It is an ideal get away summer or winter.

Kylie and Andrew were the best hosts! From the moment we arrived it felt relaxed, our social club enjoyed a beautiful evening of clay bird shooting and dinner in the bunkhouse. Everyone had a really nice time on a perfect clear evening in the country.

We had such a fantastic time here! We are a family of five with 3 young kids and we really enjoyed meeting all the animals, feeding Ginger the lamb, heading off on farm walks, learning all about the history of the farm. Highly recommend Rangitikei Farmstay, Kylie and Andrew have created such a wonderful place to stay and it was a such a memorable holiday for our city kids! xx

We really enjoyed our stay at the farm. Kylie and Andrew were warm and welcoming, and took the time to show us around and answer all of our questions. The bunkhouse has been beautifully restored, offering all mod cons while still maintaining the historical integrity of the original building. The accommodation is clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully decorated.
The farm is gorgeous. We took a walk to the picnic spot at the top of the hill which has incredible views over the farm, we even saw snow-capped Mt Taranaki and the sea in the distance. Feeding the sheep, ducks, chicken, and seeing the cows, horses, and friendly farm dogs were all a highlight. Thank you for sharing your little slice of paradise, Kylie and Andrew!

A group of 16 of us stayed at this beautiful property for a hens night. We were greeted and given a tour of the farm by Kylie. The house was well equipped with everything we needed, including very comfortable bunks. It was such an amazing place to spend the night and we all made wonderful memories there. Hoping to take my family back to stay in a hut one night. Thanks Kylie & Andrew.

A brilliant Kiwi experience during Christmas!
My family and I stayed at Rangitikei Farmstay over Christmas and the place is exceptionally beautiful. My family from overseas thoroughly enjoyed their stay and the kids had an amazing time with the farm animals and nature.
We stayed at the bunkhouse, East Hut and West Hutt and all three were clean and tidy. The whole place was well maintained. The bunkhouse had the necessary equipment for our cooking and the rooms were clean, tidy and had good beds and bedding.
The toilet and bathroom facilities outside were modern, clean and nice.
Above all, Kylie and family were such a great host.
We will definitely be returning back !

My husband and I were gifted a one night's stay at Rangitikei Farmstay, and we had a lovely time! Kylie was very friendly and welcoming, and we even got to help feed some adorable black sheep! The accommodation was lovely, and the view from the top of the short walk up the farm was stunning. Definitely recommend staying here :)

The Farmstay was the perfect place for a weekend away from the city with our family, especially post-lockdown. The house is a lovely time capsule filled with the history of the family over the generations and is a very charming place to stay. We missed out on collecting the eggs but got to feed the baby lambs, the sheep and the ponies, and everyone's highlight was the walk to the picnic bench atop the hill! Big thanks to Kylie and Andrew for having us!

I was lucky enough to have my hens party at Rangitikei Farm Stay and it was awesome. The bunkhouse was the perfect size for the whole party and Kylie was an excellent host. It was very clean, cosy and the beds were so comfy. We had a local musician come in while we enjoyed dinner and drinks on the deck - it was just perfect. Friends had travelled from all over the North Island and they all commented on how relaxing it was. I could have stayed there for days and taken advantage of the walks and activities. I’ll definitely be heading back for a girls weekend. Thanks RFS, such a great weekend.

We had such a lovely time. Perfect holiday option for those wanting an easy, slow paced weekend away. So much space to explore and the views from the top of the farm make for amazing photos. Sleeping arrangements to meet all needs - couples wanting space and families. The covered deck area is a great space for meals and evening drinks. Totally recommend for those wanting a weekend stay that is a little different- families or weekends away with friends.
A.
We had the BEST time during our stay at The Bunkhouse! The time and effort that has gone into explaining all the amazing relics used to decorate the place is a wonderful touch and the pool was just what I needed after a walk up to the lookout. Thoroughly recommend letting Kylie host you at their amazing Farmstay for a slice of NZ paradise!

It was the perfect place to unwind & have fun. Had a hens do at Rangitikei Farmstay - there was 16 of us & we had a wonderful time - sitting on the deck soaking up some sun, enjoying a few wines & listening to music. It was so scenic and peaceful up there & Kylie and Andrew were outstanding hosts. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who was looking to escape for the weekend or longer and enjoy the spectacular rural setting. Lovely accomodation & ammenities- very clean and tidy. Can’t thank you enough 😊

I was lucky enough to win a place at the first 'Retreat' run by Kylie Stewart. The focus was on mental wellbeing and the importance of exercise and good nutrition. It was a wonderful weekend with a group of wonderful women who arrived as strangers and left as friends. The Farmstay is full of the farm's history, the environment is beautiful with loads of hillcountry farm walks, excellent food, and great accommodation. Kylie and Andrew are great hosts; very welcoming and accommodating. I thoroughly recommend both the retreat which will be an annual event, and the Farmstay experience itself. A great country getaway; good for couples, families, or small groups. Do it!! You'll love it.

Peace and tranquility
Kylie was very welcoming. The West Hut was comfortable and clean with beautiful views down the valley and hills. The dawn chorus was lovely to wake up to and the night sk6 amaxin* without light pollution. The Bunkhouse was well equipped for self catering.
We were on holiday with our 6 yr old granddaughter and loved the experience of feeding lambs and the goat. Riding “Dude” was a highlight.
We ordered dinner on our last night and Kylie delivered a delicious dinner which got an overwhelming seal of approval from us all.
Thank you.

We took our 5 year old twin grandaughters to Rangitikei Farmstay for two nights. It was a great way for two children who live in the city to experience NZ farm life. Our hosts could not have been more welcoming and hospitable, they made us all feel really comfortable and relaxed from the outset. Their little girl was absolutely wonderful, she helped the twins plant sunflower seeds, (which they got to take home😀) how to make flower necklaces, and played games with them when it came time to be inside. The twins loved every minute; the pony ride, meeting the dogs, looking for fresh laid eggs and clambering down the hillside to entice the sheep to eat the food which Kylie provided for us to give them.
It could be useful for others to know that we visited in Winter and for very good reason (due to fire risk in the lovingly restored old farmhouse) cooking can be done on the sheltered BBQ on the outdoor deck, but on a short and cool Winter evening it was lovely to have a home cooked meal prepared by Kylie made with farm fresh ingredients; and it was totally fine also for us to take our own ready to heat meals, using the microwave or fry pan. We were provided with fresh farm eggs to cook for lunch, they were divine!
Our accommodation in the West Hut was beautifully fitted out and cosy.
The precious memories made from an experience such as this cannot be measured. One we hope to repeat in the future!

We booked a virtual tour of Rangitikei Farmstay for our workplace and we just adored it. It was so nice to meet the different animals and to hear about what farm life is like. Would love to come and stay sometime and meet you all in person. Thanks Kylie :)

LOVED our stay with Andrew and Kylie! What a beautiful spot and great people. Went to the top of the hill to watch the sunset and was truley magical. 5 stars!!

In mid January Kylie at Rangitiki Homestay hosted my group of 31 Danish ( aged 60+) guests for a lunch. We did not quite know what to expect but what a treat! The weather was stunning and the farm and bunkhouse looked like something from a postcard. Kylie had made the most amazing lunch. The salads were to die for and it was all presented like a woman's magazine Christmas issue for the perfect garden lunch. My guests were blown away and no matter what we had on the rest of the trip, they still said "..but remember the lunch at Rangitiki". We were short on time but Kylie managed to tell us a little bit about the farm and their practises and we met a few of the pet lambs...and the shifty goat. I give it my warmest thanks and recommendations :-) Anne - tourleader

The host was very friendly, welcoming and willingly answered questions regarding to the farm. The hut we stayed in was warm and cosy. We had dinner served in our hut (lamb and vegetables), the dinner was awesome. The farm and our hut was really clean. The host loves animals a lot and took great care of them. We were taken on a tour of the farm and had the opportunity to feed the ponies and sheeps. We took a morning hike around the farm and enjoyed lovely views.
L.
Brilliant set up for 12, staying over The Mudder weekend. A real rustic, homely feel and a lovely escape from the city. Cracking sunset from the bench at the top of the hill one evening. Thanks for a wonderful stay - see you next year!
M.
We had a lovely stay with Andrew and Kylie. Our two kids ( 5 and 8 years) still talk a lot about it. Especially the friendly animals made a lasting memory. We had dinner at the farm and really enjoyed it.

This farmstay is amazing! My wife and I stayed here for two nights on our honeymoon and we didn't want to leave. The farm is lush and is home to beautiful rolling hills and lots of animals. You can explore the grounds on foot via the on site trails. The west hut, where we stayed, was very clean and beautifully decorated. You can also enjoy a coffee overlooking the mountains. The hosts were so friendly and warm and we hope to stay in touch with them. This farmstay is a must!

What a fantastic place for an authentic Kiwi experience! We visited with a big group for a private BBQ lunch, sheep shearing, and mustering demonstration and we loved it. The location was great to break up our trip from Rotorua to Wellington, and I just wish we had more time to stay to relax and unwind there. Beautiful property and wonderful hosts - thank you!

We had a brlliant time with our 3 little children. The children loved the animals, and the small playground. This was nature pure. The old Bunkhouse, where we slept, was one of the most lovely Houses I ever slept inside. The toilet and shower where outside and we slept in small high beds, but this was great at the end. They have two other huts, which are newer, but I would always stay again in the bunkhouse. We loved it!!!! We had a sheep shearing demonstration and saw the dogs, keeping the sheeps together. Unforgettable!!! Thanks to the owner Kylie and Andrew for everything. It’s a working farm and they did all the things in between their work for us...
M.
Great venue for a hens do for a special friend! Beautiful spot in the countryside. Relaxing with plenty of room for everyone. Facilities all clean and tidy. Very accomodating and even our pole dancing instructor and one man band enjoyed themselves! Highly recommend!!!
W.
A very authentic farmstay experience with awesome views from our room in the spacious West Hut. You can even hear the sheeps baaa-ing from the hill opposite! A plus point that Kylie ensures we are the only guest around so we can fully enjoy the space and bunkhouse. Wish our stay was longer!
G.
Amazing and a huge farm with beautiful views. Bunk house had everything we wanted for our family. Really enjoyed the climb up to the picnic table (must do) and the farm tour was very exciting and informational for my family. Best time spent on a farm so far... would definitely recommend
R.
The farmstay was awesome and the host were very friendly. We were at the farm during winter and we had a nice and heated room to keep us warm. We had a great farm tour and was so beautiful to stand at the top of the farm and view the beautiful farms.

Great spot with a lovely, comfy rustic charm. Perfect for a family (or two) looking for a weekend away. We'll definitely try and get back again one day!

We believe that the Rangitikei Farmstay is a hidden gem of New Zealand. If you want an authentic Kiwi pioneering experience, come here. Only 15 minutes off SH1. Andrew and Kylie are wonderful hosts and you will want to stay longer guaranteed.

We stayed here for a night with a group of 10 people and absolutely loved it. Great outdoor area with massive dining area and big BBQ which was perfect for a larger group. Lovely country setting, would definitely stay again.

I stayed just a night at West hut and booked their farm tour.
They have a world of activities on their own spectacle nature, so no matter which season everyone must make an unforgettable memory.
Accommodation is amazing ... lovely interiors with perfectly furnished. Would say here ’s suitable for honeymoon!
The farm tour took approximately 1hr30min (I think depends,) and so many things to see & feel.
Hosts are very kind, while my farm tour I asked the owner about farming and he gave me plenty of ideas.
Absolutely worth to rent a car and visit here for sure.
Thanks a lot, Kylie & Andrew.
A venerable farmer who has been around for over 110 years. Beef cattle and sheep feeding management in NZ is bold and very interesting. Farming that uses nature of 650ha or more as it is is a large scale, and even just running around on a quad bike has an impression that you can not experience in Japan. The accommodation is a relocation of a part of an old house, which looks like a little museum. The room I stayed in was a waist hat, which was very cute and clean.
It seems that there are usually many group reservations, and in the past about 40 student trips from Japan? There seems to be a track record of accepting.
There were no other guests because this stay was in winter, but I'm sure it will always be a good memory.
It's fun just to look at the website, as we are planning an incredible kind of family-owned activity.
