R.Loved every minute of our stay! Right across the road from the beach and a park, so close to town. walking distance to most things. The room was great! The bar (snacks) food in room was very reasonably priced and the hosts were AMAZING! They were both so friendly and helpful! Definitely would stay again and recommend to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Napier ☺️☺️
L.From the moment we arrived hosts, Tanja & Santani greeted us making us feel welcome and full of helpful information. We stayed in one of the Penthouse Suites which looks directly to the beach across the road. The room was spotlessly clean, well thought out layout, comfortable super King Size bed and great water pressure in the shower. Each day our room was serviced promptly. We really enjoyed our stay and thank Tanja & Santani for being such fantastic hosts. We will definitely stay here again should we come back to Napier.

C.One of the nicest motels we've had the pleasure to stay in. Our room was immaculate, the location - walking distance from town and across the road from the beach - perfect. Hosts Tanja and Santani were just lovely, very welcoming, friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We look forward to staying here again.

S.We stayed last weekend for two nights and what a great stay it was. Firstly Tanja was great to deal with upon arrival. Super friendly and helpful. Room 9 (top floor on the left looking from carpark) had the great view we hoped for, was big, well set up, and just what a couple might need for a weekend getaway. Unfortunately this trip we didn't get a chance to to use the in room spa but its a must do for our next trip. All weekend long as we came and went Tanja and Santani would make sure we were ok and didn't need for anything. They even told us where to visit for the best breakfast Sunday morning before the long road trip home (Tanja you NAILED it !!) So don't be put off by reviews written before Santani and Tanja took over the running of Motel de la Mer, they might look young and inexperienced, but believe me, they're smashing it as far as motel owners go. Thanks team, we will definitely be back and we will definitely stay again.
O.We stayed for 3 nights and appreciated the daily room service. Good selection of quality toiletries and tea, coffee, and biscuits. Surprisingly quiet despite its location on the main road (Marine Parade). 5 minutes walk to good eateries, shops, and the beach. Extra large and long bed with quality linen added to restful stay. Spa in-room was amazing and a huge bonus. Very accommodating staff allowed us to leave the car onsite after we checked out. Good sized room, bigger than appears in photos so you're not bumping into furniture. The only fault was that the shower pressure was a bit weak following having a spa. A small boutique hotel with a personal touch, perfect for a weekend getaway.

C.Second time we have stayed. Second time we had to park on road as not enough for all. Rooms were clean and well presented. Lovely couple running the business. A bit too much light in windows at night. Pillows hard and bedding too warm (standard in most hotels these days). Easy walk to several restaurants. Beach across the road which has a very pleasant walkway. Only a small amount of noise from other rooms.

Your motel is stunning and I highly recommend. Clean, stunning views, fast and efficient service, beautiful rooms, great hospitality and perfect location right in the middle of Marine parade and accessible to everything. We definitely will be back.
d.From check in to check out, everyone was really friendly. Room was spotless and well serviced each day we stayed. A yummy breakfast brought to our room everymorning! Awesome spot with great views and just a short walk to town. Can not fault it. Thanks for having us!
P.Chose this place because of the reviews and was definitely not disappointed. From the friendly welcome to the spotless unit..everything has been first class. The rooms are beautifully appointed and our host told us everything we needed to know from operating the spa bath to the wifi connection. Directly across from the beach and right next door to a lovely restaurant..couldn't ask for more. Will definitely recommend to friends and family and work colleagues. 10/10 👌

E.Excellent friendly staff! The room was well equipped and spotless. The bed is HUGE and the spa bath was incredible! My five year old loved it. Bring your Netflix account details and watch on their smart tv. Great WIFI. We will definitely be back here.

J.Very clean and well presented. Bed was king size and comfortable. Walking distance to downtown which was great as we were on a motorbike so didn't want to ride at night. Was great to get suggested bike ride routes which we thoroughly enjoyed and our wine tasting tour was booked for us. We climbed into the van in the morning and were delivered home in the late afternoon. Wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks, would definitely recommend and want to come back.

It is not cheap but immaculately presented, serviced to the highest standard. What makes it special is however the operators.
If anyone is considering entering the motel business or wants to make their existing operation better, stay at this motel. John and Llanys make their guests fell very welcome, they are always checking in the nicest way that all is well, we love the place and how it is run.
