Great facilities and fantastic staff. We stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment which was very roomy and well appointed. Would happily stay here again when back in Nelson.

Lovely rooms. Right by downtown/CBD with a 15 minute walk. Great staff. Super quiet and chill and comfy. Plenty of space to work in our double queen room - the two desks were great! Super clean.

The hotel was recommended to us by a family member. Clean tidy spacious rooms with friendly staff and close to all amenities :). We will definitely stay at the hotel in the future :).

Stayed here quite a few times and ive always enjoyed it here. The staff are good. Heaps of parking and the rooms are always clean and beds are super comfortable. This is probably my go to place if I ever need a place to stay

Excellent value. Tidy, and modern looking room. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was clean. On site restaurant and plenty of car parking. Nothing to fault.

I book this Hotel regularly on behalf of my organisation. They are always helpful and friendly. My colleagues love the facilities, and you really can't beat their prices. Also, walking distance from the CBD as well as having a great restaurant/catering on site. They even have conference facilities! A+++

Always a pleasure to stay for a couple of nights a month on work trips. Nice rooms, restaurant staff are amazing.

I was there for a 2 day seminar, great facilities and delicious morning tea and lunch.

We will definitely be back. The room was amazing, the staff were just lovely. Having the Flames restaurant attached to the motel is so convenient with kids and also extended family in Nelson. We are already looking forward to our next visit - thank you all so much.

I have stayed here for many years under a few different owners. The improvements I've seen recently have brought the reception area to a world class standard. The rooms are good, very clean and comfortable, and the staff are friendly and accommodating. Food is great at Flames!

The hotel room was enormous and well appointed. But the jewel in this places crown is the Flames restaurant. The food was excellent and the staff were fantastic. Especially Marcia... That woman is a public relations genius.

We like staying here when we come to Nelson, we like having the restaurant at the front gate (The Flames). The staff at the hotel and the restaurant are positive and helpful.

A spotless,comfortable room with all the amenities. Great food in the restaurant and pleasant staff.Even though the motel is on a busy road it was very quiet, which all and all made for an enjoyable stay will stay again.

Rooms spacious and comfortable, the pool however made a mess by guests and hotel allows drinking and smoking at pool

Lovely staff, remembered my name and occasionally went above and beyond! I very much enjoyed the daily coffees from their onsite restaurant. I really like the bean they used and the Large is actually a good sized large (not a regular posing as a large...).

I had to unexpectedly stay in Nelson when my husband was admitted to hospital. This hotel was the closest to the hospital but was also one of the best places I have stayed. Reception were extremely kind and helpful. So was room serve. The quality of the food in the restaurant was perfect and the staff there were amazing. So kind and helpful. I was having breakfast dinner there and each meal was wonderful. I thoroughly recommend The Hotel Nelson and hope to stay there again in the summer to use the pool.

Nice hotel! Close to the city and the beach. There's a new world close by. The restaurant on the premise is decent. Overall it perfect for the price I paid. I would definitely book again.

Nice place to rest your head in Nelson. The rooms were clean and didn't look aged (January 2021). Our room had a spa shower which was interesting to use - could have used more water pressure to have been more enjoyable. I liked how the shower amenities were dispensed rather than in small disposable bottles.

Location is good. We had a room with king bed and spa tub: clean, comfy bed and good quality sleep. Over all it was a great stay.

Great friendly staff really enjoyed our stay

We as a family stayed one night at a studio on the upper floor near the conference room. Had a good experience with an awesome staff at check-in. On average our room was clean but we found a toothpick and some long hairs on a chair. One more niggle is we couldn't sleep well because of ongoing noise from next door. Not soundproof at all.

I only stayed one night and had breakfast. All was fine nothing of particular note either good or bad. Heated mirror in bathroom so that it did not steam up is a good idea, maybe this is common now but it’s a first for me.

Great hotel in Nelson that is close to the city centre. We booked into a 3 bedroom unit that was massive and had 2 floors. Big lounge with a big screen tv that had some SkyTv channels and a kitchen that had a walk in pantry and a separate dining and laundry room in the ground floor and 3 big sized bedroom and a bathroom with a spa pool upstairs. 2 rooms had big king size beds and the third room had a king size bed and a single bed. There is also another single bed outside to sleep 1 more! The unit was tastefully decorated and super spacious. Staff were also all very polite and helpful and the hotel had an outdoor swimming pool and a bbq area. Very pleasant stay and will book again if we are in Nelson. Only little bit of a complain is there were a lot of flies when we went into the unit probably due to the weather. I killed probably close to 20 of them before the unit was finally cleared of them!

Amazing budget hotel. Friendly staff and clean rooms. The pool was very busy probably because we visited during summer. We left for 2 nights and came back to walk Abel Tasman and they kept our excess luggage safe and secure.

Loved staying here it's soo nice and clean and close to the city. Staff were super friendly too. Highly recommend:)

Nice hotel and excellent staff. Enjoyed my visit to the Hotel Nelson. I was given a studio room for my stay. It was small, but clean and functional. Breakfasts and dinners were good. The food was tasty and the restaurant staff were friendly and helpful. My only gripe us the parking spaces on the North side of the complex are pretty tight. Be careful when navigating the lot when exiting.

Consistently good service. Full restaurant on site. Close enough to town to walk back after socialising after work so you can sober up a bit before catching some shuteye. Will definitely go back.

Rooms are very very clean. I cannot fault the cleanliness in any way. The room overall was comfortable, it had cooking facilities which I didn't use, comfy beds, wine glasses and a decent bathroom. The staff are very polite and friendly. The breakfast was a solid 5/5 too. I was there on company time, but I would definitely be staying here for personal leisure too.

Comfortable rooms, with plenty of space, only slight down was the light through the front door from the restaurant. Speaking of the restaurant, the food was excellent, highly recommend the Prawn Salad and cheesecake. Everyone was friendly and welcoming a great experience overall

We go to the hotel Nelson every year. , A WONDERFUL place to stay.

Upon arrival we were upgraded to an extra fabulous room, the girls in the reception are professional and friendly and the room is wonderful, clean, warm, and spacious. They are environmentally conscious too which is wonderful to see. Definitely wish we were staying longer!

We had a one bedroom apartment which met all of our holiday needs: separate bedroom for the kids, full kitchen, spa bath with great water pressure shower. Rooms were clean. Staff were friendly. Heated swimming pool. We also liked that they were conscious about their carbon footprint, in that you had options to not have your room serviced daily with new sheets and towels, and offered recycling.

On arrival I found the receptionist very cold no how are you hows your day, no small talk at all. We had trouble checking in and thought we were not going to able to stay as i didn't have my credit card on me that I had booked with. I was paying by eftpos (I have stayed several times and never had this issue) we had an upstairs 1 bedroom unit by the pool with a huge private deck! It was a fantastic room and very quite. We did have a slight issue with the bedding that night but a quick phone call to the office and this was fixed super fast the night receptionist was absolutely lovely! We always have a great stay at hotel nelson and will continue to come back.

Staff in reception and restaurant really friendly, great service. Dining room menu lovely and food tasty and well presented. Room very nice and comfortable but could do with more gentle lighting like bed side lamps that are not so harsh on eye

Very good hotel. Helpful staff over the phone and also at the premises, specially the gentleman in the night shift. The room was tidy and clean. Furnitures in good condition. Bathroom very clean and in very good condition as well. In fact it looks new. Reception 24 h, therefore we could check-in late. Super fast check-in and check-out. We did not go to the restaurant, it was a bit expensive.

I would recommend this hotel. The staff are wonderful and helpful. Megan was awesome and helped us out with a difficult situation, so informative and kind. The hotel is in a great location and the rates are very good. Thanks Megan, I appreciated your help during our stay.

Freshly renovated, it's clean, tidy and handy to central Nelson. The carpark leaves something to be desired though, they had a bus park across 8 carparks im front of our block so we had to do circuits till we found a spot.

Very nice rooms and rates. But mean with the TV channels! Handy to everything.

After our wonderful, sincere and happy time at the Hotel Nelson, and a superb meal in Flames restaurant, we won,t bother looking anywhere else when we go over from Picton. Liz at reception was so friendly and helpful, even putting cones up to secure parking for our camper!! She also booked us into Flames restaurant to secure our table for five. Right up there with our best hotel experiences. Thankyou to a great team.

The greeting on arrival was excellent and for the price we paid the accommodation was great. The bathroom is a little dated but otherwise the room served our purpose. Would stay here again.

Room was warm and clean. Restaraunt had amazing food, drinks and service. Loved our stay here we came back to stay on our way back home 3 days later. Will definately stay here again if ever I end up in Nelson again

A clean and comfortable hotel. Has everything you need. Only thing we found was that the remote for our AC was not working and the temperature of the room had to be controlled via the unit itself on the wall. Other than that parking is right outside your room, there is a small swimming pool for everyone to enjoy ans the ladies at the reception we're very professional upon our arrival. Would stay again.

Top class hotel/motel. Very clean. Carpet in good condition. Better than average bathroom. Good sized kitchen and dining table. Also a good sized tv and work desk with 2 easily accessable power plugs. Our room had 2 comfortable queen sized beds. The window curtains actually block out the light. Reception and check in was efficient and flawless. Looks like adequate parking. The one annoying feature, and this applies to most NZ hotels/motels. Is the small wardrobes that a fulled up with extra bedding, pillows ironing board and appliances. Hopeless! However we really enjoyed this hotel, are delighted to recommended it and would stay again without hesitation.

Got a basic room with kitchenette. Very clean with a comfortable bed. Only a shower in the suite. Good AC. Pool facilities have worn out furniture and murky water unfortunately. Laundry services are on site and snap fitness pass included.

Sometimes it's the little things that matter. Sometimes it's big things. We're on holiday with a special needs daughter and were hoping for a bathtub but the room we got didn't have any. We asked about it and got a massive free upgrade to a fantastic room with a huge bath. Life is difficult for us sometimes but with nice gestures like this it restores faith in humanity! Soo much appreciated!

Spacious rooms that are bright, airy and clean. Good sized bedrooms and bathroom, big lounge and decent kitchen. Didn't get to try the swimming pool because it was full of kids. Would definitely consider staying here again.

Very clean, tidy, new and will appointed room, the staff were friendly and helpful and the tarrif was very reasonable. Our room (45) was a bit bright inside at night due to an outside light that could not be controlled by our room, could have done with blackout curtains. Also hot water pressure was average. Otherwise lovely stay

Stayed twice with family during the week. First night in the newer apartment was nice and clean, couldn't fault. Second visit in older units with blocked shower, dangerous kettle (wouldn't automatically switch off), remote did not work. So I think it's luck of the draw...

Lovely place! Did just one night this week on a business trip but I imagine it would be a great base for exploring the countryside with the wife. Internet connection was excellent, which suited my business needs.

This was a lovely hotel. Decently priced, very clean, good view, and nice touches. The heat and amenities were good. We were upgraded because it was not busy, which was very kind.

Ice available in a small tray only; no ice bucket available for a larger quantity. Power points behind the beds; very difficult to reach for a handicapped individual 😕

After reading the reviews we were a bit worried about what our experience would be. We certainly did not expect what we got. I was struck at how professional the reception area was. Very classy. Very smooth check in too and before too long we were ensconced in our lovely spacious, absolutely spotless studio apartment. Thank you for all the extras as well. Not every hotel provides as much as you do. Have I mentioned the restaurant yet? Thank you Justice and Lucky. A nice quiet relaxed natter with scrumptious kai was just what we needed! So good that we knew we would come for breakfast and so we did. Where can you get scrumptious fluffy scrambled eggs? At my house that’s where but I will admit, you guys were right up there. Thank you chef! This is my first time to the South Island and you guys helped make my trip really enjoyable! Nga Mihi

OK conference facilities. Didn't get pens with seminar. Less parking than expected. Good food. Fairly noisy environment for seminar but that's not something the Hotel can control.

We loved our stay in The Hotel Nelson. Friendly staff and the rooms were really clean. We just stayed here for one night, but we could stay here for a few more days.

A lovely clean and modern place to stay in Nelson. Only complaint is the thin walls so you can hear the "noisy neighbors". Would definitely stay here again.

Comfortable stay in Nelson We stayed in a studio apartment on the second floor at the back of the complex with 2 double beds which was nice and quiet. It was very spacious, comfortable and had a well equipped kitchenette, good bathroom and reverse cycle air conditioning. The motel is on the edge of town - about a 10-15 walk from the CBD and numerous dining options. It's also really good value.

This place has a studio flat, which there is 8 of us. Which we all can stay together and enjoy our time together with a few drinks and nibble.

They have all the commodities, even washing machine. They even brought us breakfast the day before because we couldn't make it the next day because we were lesving very early. Infinite wifi too!
