X.We absolutely loved this place. Right in the middle of town but very quiet, the shower was amazing, the bed was extremely comfortable, black out curtains if you need that extra bit of recovery after an adventurous day out. The whole set up was just very inviting - so much so that we decided to extend our stay here. Added bonus of a full sized fridge and freezer! The staff were also super friendly and helpful.
T.Loved this place. Stayed here for 3 nights. Rooms are modern and super clean. Staff were warm and welcoming - and I don't think you could get a better location.

C.Perfect location, immaculate rooms but the best asset this accommodation has is Jade in reception. Jade organized priority parking for us, advised locations of interest and also best places to eat. Jade is passionate about the area and it shows. Thanks Jade, you rock. Charlie and Alison.

K.My elderly mother and I had a lovely weekend . The rooms were spacious and comfortable. We stayed in the two bedroom ground floor apartment. Had great night sleeps. Rooms were clean, comfy sofa . Very close to shops, restaurants and coastal walkway . This is more like a hotel quality accomodation. Would definitely stay again.
M.I found the Metro was perfect in almost every way except the parking is not allocated so I had to park on the street a few times as spaces were full. Not such a drama though as there were always parks nearby. Everything else 100% and will def return
B.We had a great stay here as a family a couple of weekends ago during a bad storm. Staff were great and the room was more than adequate for a family of 4. Facilities in the room were excellent. Including the very comfortable beds and great shower that was tall enough for me as an over 6 foot tall person to get under. If we are ever back in New Plymouth this is the top of our stay list.
We were in the ground floor double bedroom room with a ramp because our daughter was on crutches and the access was great.
A.Stayed for the better part of two weeks and will definitely go back the next time we are in NP. Amazing service and very clean modern rooms.

L.Such a lovely place to stay. Rooms are modern and clean, ours equipped with a balcony and rooms are serviced daily by housekeeping. Reception and housekeeping staff were all super friendly and helpful. Their beds are also the most comfortable I've possibly ever slept on. Will away again when we return to New Plymouth.

J.A great spot! The room is clean, nicely designed and has everything you may need to do simple living. The location is great, just a short walk from shopping, restaurants and the coastal walk. I will definitely will stay here again.

C.Arrived at the Metrotel we had the wheelchair access room was the last one left when I booked, we got the wheelchair carpark outside the office, nice and wide. The room has lots of space, had a full fridge freezer and a dishwasher, the bed was nice and big lots of room, very clean and tidy, everything you need. Close to lots of eating place's and shops, great location, easy walking distance, would highly recommend to stay here, all the staff were very friendly. We will be back :)

H.What a superb motel. From our first contact to make the booking to arrival and throughout the stay the staff were attentive, very friendly and also really helpful. We stayed for five nights in a studio which was spacious and comfortable with a lovely deck. I cannot fault the place and highly recommend it. Amazing location one block from the sea and plenty of eating options nearby. Brilliant! Can’t wait to visit again

What a great place New Plymouth- loves it!
S.My first stay here met my high expectations. There is absolutely to fault about the room - they provide everything that you need. The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom a great size. For a tall person it was so great to have a shower head that could be moved up and the shower itself was so spacious. They really have thought of everything. Highly recommend and I will most definitely be back soon. Great service and great price too!
T.Can't fault it for the very reasonable price. Modern, nicely furnished, great bathroom. TV is mounted to the wall but also has wall mounted HDMI and USB sockets connected to the TV so that you can watch your own content, brilliant! Nice to see a full sized fridge with separate freezer compartment too. Highly recommended.

J.Clean and shiny and new. We booked over the internet and the check in was the quickest I've ever had. The room was quite large and we were very happy. I'd definitely stay again. Bath and shower. Nice towels. Central to the city and easy walking distance to restaurants and bars. There is some street noise but it wasn't too bad. There was a small balcony to our room. Parking was easy, though a little tight.
Price was reasonable and about average for the city.
K.A nice large studio room with modern finish and features. Well furnished with large comfortable super king bed, two arm chairs, desk, dining table and chairs, plus outdoor setting on a balcony. Double glazed windows cut down the city noise for a better sleeping experience, and a good sized kitchenette and bathroom complete the package. Reasonable value for the features offered and its central location too. Only drawback we had was inability to cancel after booking - we were offered accommodation with family in the area but the property were unwilling to budge on their cancellation policy even though we gave several weeks notice (and they could easily have resold the booking with the city fully booked), so we ended up using the booking anyway.

J.Had an outstanding 5 day stay here end of Jan 2019. One adult & a 7 month old baby. If this is a Motel then it's an extremely high standard of Motel, and I've been to a number of 5 star hotels here and abroad so believe me. You'd be fooled into thinking you are in a Hotel in my opinion, and that would be my first thumbs up for this place, flashy, clean, fresh, and very tidy on first impression. Some Hotel rooms are smaller than a Studio here which is what we had. The reception was awesome, very interactive with my tired baby who loved the attention, and very friendly making the 6 hour trip to get there round off nicely late afternoon. Thank you very much Metrotel, look forward to seeing you again in the future.

Balcony! smokers or vapers this is the Motel for you. This is an outstanding feature given most Hotels/Motels have no balcony let alone a private area right outside your room to smoke or vape. Make sure you respect the rules however and close the door behind you. And be mindful of other guests and wind direction, everyone has a balcony. Big thumbs up for this feature, smokers are killing themselves & stink, but us Vapers are a 'huge' market, and this feature is a deal maker imo. Truth be told this is why I mostly chose Metrotel, the balcony, & it was clear on the website also regarding, as well as being central to town. Outstanding, very grateful this was available after a long day of activities with a 7 month old to wind down on. I hope people don't abuse this ability and wreck it for everyone in the future.
Parking - Private off street parking. Right off stairs and elevator.
Central to town - 2 minute walk to cafes & shops. Mall is across road.
Quiet rooms - I was there over a weekend that was jam packed, couldn't hear a thing around us from inside the room, was great.
Easy access - Elevator for elderly, young kids, or just moving gear around.
Free Wifi - Even though not needed, it was cool to have the option, some people would definitely appreciate this.
Housekeeping - Daily & thorough.
Just to name a few.
CONS -
View - Well that is a bummer if this is your bag. However being in town I didn't expect to see waves crashing. It's two roads back from the beach. This would be about the only con I could pluck but personally it wasn't a big deal to me.
