S. L.Back in October 2019 we planned to have our mini-moon at Beachpoint Apartments but because family arrived from overseas and needed somewhere to stay, we stayed home. So last week we took our long overdue mini-moon and stayed a few days. From the initial booking with a couple of special requests right through to the departing goodbyes, Sue was tremendous to deal with. Nothing appeared to be too much trouble. Sue even escorted us to our covered car park to make sure we didn't get lost. Sue made great recommendations of where to eat locally. And got them all correct. The room was clean and tidy and had a great view of the beach. Wish we could say it had great sunrise and sunset views but maybe the middle of summer isn't the best time to visit when it is overcast and raining. BUT that only means we have to come back and stay again. Which we fully intend to do. The room had a very comprehensive list of notes for everything the apartments has and where to find things. And the swimming pool looked very inviting too but because we spent so much time on the beach we didn't get a chance to test it. Thank you very much for the stay Sue and we WILL see you again soon. Promise.
B. R.Stunning apartments. Well appointed. Right across the road from a super swimming beach. There are boogie boards available at the apartments for your use free of charge. There is a heated pool and gym. Undercover secure parking is provided. Easy walk to 2 lovely cafes for breakfast. Great stay.

C.Excellent location. Well appointed. Modern and clean. Our balcony provided an amazing beach view and was an ideal location to breakfast on.
Theres a pool here too, and a gym I think too. We didn't use them this time but we will be back for sure!

J.We really enjoyed our stay at Beachpoint Apartments. The view is superb - just over the road from lovely Ohope Beach. We were really impressed by our apartment - it was spacious and beautifully decorated. There was a big balcony with comfortable outdoor furniture. The kitchen was fully equipped. We didnt use the pool but it looked lovely. We would definitely recommend these apartments for a beach holiday.

Our family stayed in a 2 bdrm, 1 bthrm unit on the second floor.
Try to get a second floor apt facing the beach if you want a view or a first floor beach facing if easy beach access is important.
The complex has lifts so caters for mobility impaired guests.
The pool is basic but clean and warm and the loungers get sun from late morn to mid arvo in summer.
The units themselves are what you'd expect from a $300 + a night apartment.
Comfortable beds, a clean bathroom, smaller kitchen, decent sized beach facing deck.
The location is within sight of a couple cafes and a Mexican restaurant. The local cafes are not cheap though. Someone should tell them this ain't Tauranga.
The garaging is generous and easy to navigate. Security needs to be tightened though as any passing random could get into the complex and garage without access cards. Security cameras need to be installed in side entrance hallways and garage.
A small swap a book "library" adds a nice touch with books and dvds on a free to borrow basis.
The unit we stayed in (unit 28 second floor corner) needs some new pans and knives but we brought our own so no stress on that account.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay as first timers to Ohope. The beach is okay but doesn't compare to the sand, wave quality or variety of its near neighbour Mount Maunganui.
The local amenities were basic and over priced for a beach town. Whakatane is only 5 mins drive away so I guess most people head over the hill for more dining variety and better priced groceries.

m. w.I only stopped for a rest really but more than adequate for a stop over. The views of the beach is breathtaking, but a work In progress in the local surroundings. A must see for any and everyone driving down or up the coast.
