D.Great hospitality team, both front of house as well as the catering team. Despite the COVID-19 Red Light Level the team provided a wonderful experience for 12 Volunteer Fire Fighters from all over the bottom of the North Island to participate in Leadership Workshop. The rooms were very comfortable as well as clean and airy. The food offered was delicious and plentiful as well having to go the extra mile in individually serving to help mitigate viral infection. Thank you to the whole duty team in making our course a total success as well as memorable for the right reasons.
S.I stayed at the Copthorne for 4 nights to attend a business course at the nearby Massey University.
I was staying on level 6 facing west (great sunsets).
Very dated from the outside, my expectations were very modest before walking inside. Half done construction work at the gate entrance.
Staff 5/5: The staff were great. Welcoming, friendly, would go out of their way for you.
Comfort 3/5: I found the bed to be too soft and pillows seemed quite old and not comfortable. The room was very hot, no aircon, and even though the Dyson fan helped cool the room, it is too noisy to be on when sleeping.
Cleanliness 4/5: couldn't find any fault apart from the towels smelling a little musty.
Noise 2/5: of the 4 nights I stayed, two of the nights/early mornings I woke up to outside noise of trucks and rubbish truck. The windows are very thin. The loud slamming of other rooms' doors was also quite intense.
Summary: Staffed really well but an aging building that needs a refurb to add comfort to the Guest.
m.Room we had was really hot, the two fans just circulated the hot air, so they put us in to a balcony room at no extra cost. Absolutely great service and they went out of their way to accommodate us. Really appreciated it and both times we have been here the service has been great. Our go to place when we come to Palmerston north.

S.In winter you can use the heating to keep warm. However when it's hot, you will just have a fan.

g.While not the flashest hotel around the rooms are large, clean and well appointed which is what you want when travelling. The Copthorne is perfectly located for a night in Palmerston North, easy to access and close enough to town to be able to walk around to find somewhere for a meal.

It is also not A delux Superiour place to stay Just OK Coridors are shabby wall coverings in a damage condition .
Carpet in room needs repairing ,Windows were filthy and so were the frames in corners dirty unclean, Shower water very low and difficalt to access.
They did move us when these things were pointed out to them.
Evening meal expensive and meager, chairs and tables need an upgrade , were old ,odd colours and a few of the tables had damaged corners .
Breakfast was very good but you cannot make a good cup of tea from a flask of hot water you have to tip boiling water onto tea bag not hot water Rating out of 10 -3 and a half 4 at a push expected better BJB
S.Great location. It's close proximity to everything in the city. Able to walk anywhere if you want. Very comfortable room especially when you have a toddler with you. Plenty of space for everyone!

L.Had expected a average stay, but with a room rate of $90, it was hard to pass up. I only needed a room for the night.
Service at reception was friendly, and plenty of handy car parking. Room was upstairs in a dated wing. The room however appeared renovated, and was warm, clean and tidy. I freaked out when I saw the ear plugs on the bedside tables. Not needed however, I had a restful, quiet night. Bed was comfortable and plenty warm. Shower was terrible, and lukewarm. Really the only letdown.

I.Another perfect night. Nice room, lovely and kind staff members. Always happy to stay any of your hotels, using the “Away to go” voucher. Perfect deal packages.
L.Not sure I will stay here again. The room was ok, but needs a proper clean. There were cobwebs inside the windows and the shower didnt look that clean either. Staff were friendly, but the service here is quite relaxed.

O.We required accommodation for a one night stop that needed to be good value and practical. We could only book a superior room but it was worth the few extra dollars to be at a higher level. The room itself ticked all the boxes, cleanliness, comfortable, quiet, functionally appointed, enough space and recently decorated.
We did have breakfast at the hotel, simply for the convenience and time factor, but there is far better value to be found at nearby cafes. There was a faulty coffee machine at breakfast, but the staff quickly produced a decent coffee from elsewhere.
The hotel doesn’t pretend to be anything that it’s not. If you’re in Palmerston North and need reliable accommodation at a reasonable price, then this hotel should be considered.
I.The hotel is fine, there’s a little lack of attention to how the rooms are clean but the staff is helpful with the exception of the bar staff, I ordered a Drink from the bar and the bar man got annoyed and told me to pick something from the wine menu.
L.Nice room really massive in size. Staff was nice, the view was ok. Really clean but one big Con was the lack of aircon at the room which had only a fan in. But considering the price we paid and free parking was a good option among others.
J.Great service. Food & room service was fantastic. However I gave 3 stars due to after checking in, our cards did not gain access to the room. We advised reception, who amended the cards only to discover the room was already occupied. We were moved to another room. But this was time consuming. The bathroom could be updated on par with the Copthorne in Wellington. Car park was easy access.

H.Very nice room - spacious, clean and modern. Only drawback is the mounted showerhead at roughly 170cm height and low water pressure. This is not really up to a modern standard anymore and doesn't go along with the overall atmosphere of the hotel. Nevertheless, would be happy to recommend and come back due to friendly staff and overall impression
G.Note there is no air conditioning in the rooms, however they do supply a fan which helps a little. Our room got very hot even with the windows open. It was an exceptionally got summers day though.
T.Staff are polite, rooms are neat and tidy. The only discomfort was having No Air-conditioning in the room which made my stay uncomfortably hot even when given 2 fans.

A.We had a wonderful stay at the Copthorne Palmerston North. When we arrived we were given a upgrade and our room was beautiful the bed was big and very comfortable. Staff were friendly and the breakfast that came with our room price was very nice with lots to choose from.

A.After a very stressful day we attended the hotel reception. We received absolutely exceptional service by Mary.
The room was excellent and my fiance was able to recieve a great night's sleep. I am very very thankful to the staff for being amazing and understanding.
The only downside was quite a bit of left over hair in the bath which I cleaned happily.

E.I arrived at 9pm on a Wednesday evening without a reservation while passing through Palmy. At first they said they were fully booked. As I turned to leave the manager said he had accommodation available in the older part of the hotel if I am comfortable with it, and since all I needed was a hot shower and a warm bed I accepted his offer. Well I was impressed with the room I stayed in for the price I paid, on such short notice. The room is large with a TV and about 10 sky channels, a queen bed and a single bed, and everything was beautifully clean. I had nothing to complain about. You get what you pay for and to pay under $100 on such short notice for such a large room that’s clean is impressive. The old part of the hotel (motel) is outdated yes, but cleanliness is all that matters at this price point. The room was comfortable and everything worked. Kudos to you guys. Well done. Expectations not only met but exceeded.

They definitely need more training. The restaurant also needs a slight decor change, it is too stark and not really comfy or inviting, with lighting way too bright for dinner time. Made us think of a hostel. Breakfast staff were fantastic! All in all we loved it and deginity recommend.

T.We had a family room, it was warm and comfortable. Some things were a bit oddly placed, but the staff were lovely and welcoming. They even provided two servings of warm milk for our children at no charge which they didn't have to do. So thanks for making it a nice stay and weekend.

R.Breakfast and accommodation was nice although the rooms weren't very convenient. The budget rooms have a very limited number of outlets and no kitchen. The walls also looked old and weary. Outside was very dilapidated. My best points go to the meals. Incredible! I'd recommend paying a little more money for the nicer rooms in the main building. Definitely worth the money.
M.This hotel was alright to stay in. The room was nice and there were earplugs in case it was too loud outside (I didn't need them though). One thing I did notice though (and a friend of mine said the same thing) was that at check-in I was very much rushed, and the rooms were a walk away and it was dark. For me this was not a big problem, but for some people, they may not feel safe walking in a dark parking lot. Otherwise, I was happy with what I got and would return to the hotel in the future.

T.We had ground floor with car park right outside just short walk from main Hotel. Cleanliness is fantastic. Economy room is a cheap motel. I only had breakfast on the Sunday morning and it was adequate. The staff were excellent. Great helpful follow-up too on an item left behind in the room.
F.To be honest. This hotel should rate 3 stars, but not 4 stars. the guest room of external building we stayed. It was very clean, but also very simple.
almost no decoration & also poor sound proof. I could hear people's conversation very clearly when they are outside of our room.
I also could hear loud noise when any car pass the drive way outside of our room. I just hope not too many noisy car pass our room at night.
luckily it did not happen.
But this hotel has 2 great advantages. (1) great location. only 5 mins walk to The Square & The Plaza shopping mall.
(2) very cheap price when it is on special. good value for money.
P.It might be the best hotel in town, there were certainly a lot that looked worse.
Reception was ok, it seemed to be intermittently staffed.
The structure of the hotel is an older design and not much thought had been put into minimising noise, so the wind made a fair bit. The room itself was nice, typical for a city hotel. The location is convenient to town, there is a gym on site and a restaurant.

R.Comfortable bed and very nice big shower. Great location, 2blocks from The Square, but also nice and quiet. Very nice lounge to meet up for evening drinks. Breakfast was great, including fresh fruit and friendly staff.
Secure parking too. Only problem was their wifi, it only works in the bar/lounge downstairs. Otherwise we had a fab stay.
M.We will only stay if the newer rooms are available in the central tower.

Room amenities good, comfortable beds, but check if the King is a real King not two twin beds pushed together. Each side still comfortable, but does create the gap down the middle of the bed.

L.This place has friendly staff that are very helpful we got upgraded to suit our need free of charge. The food in the restaurant was honestly the maoat amazing food I have ever eaten so full of flavour and cooked to perfection. The dessert was heavenly. The continental breakfast was amazing came wit bacon eggs pancakes and the usual fruit hot cold drinks etc. I would highly recommend this place and I look forward to going back there again. T.Very good location. We had a family room in the OLD part of the hotel built maybe in the 1950s or 1960s and possibly refurbished in the 1970s. The staff are absolutely great. We will continue to stay here because of the right price and the friendly and quiet atmosphere.
b.The main hotel is tidy enough considering it age. Position to town is great and there is good free parking. The wings to either side appear to be mothballed due to covid and their age.

T.Excellent service at check in even received a call to check my room was to my liking. The budget accommodation is behind the hotel and does not have any views but does have good parking. My room was downstairs and it felt quite close to a fairly noisy street and a footpath and people walking by.

Our shower had a little bit of mault in it and the restaurant / room service prices are as always way to expensive. But we got a king size bed in a room on the 6th floor with great views for 89NZD. J.Had a business workshop in a small room in the chapel first time there so I didn't have any clue on where to go asked a lovely staff member they pointed me in the right direction. But once I was at the building I had to continue to wander around untill I saw a sign to the right room. Once in the room it was laid out perfectly for the workshop with pens and paper provided by the company it was stellar. So all I can say is more signage!

T.I booked this hotel as it was in a great location and is part of the Millennium hotel chain. The wait staff were very friendly but I failed to take note of the young waitress who served us. To their credit it was clean. Seems to be popular with business people.
T.Turned up to breakfast and had to wait for so long to get seated. You would expect the room to be ready at 2pm as that is technically when you are paying from. The room has recently been decorated. Don't think we will be back again after all these years of staying there sorry.

T.I've stayed here several times and usually experienced a great stay. The hotel is very centrally located just a couple of blocks from the main city centre. The staff gave us a map Friday morning saying what would be interesting to visit. We often stay at Hokianga or Waitangi Copthorne for less than half this price.

T.Turned up to breakfast and had to wait for so long to get seated. You would expect the room to be ready at 2pm as that is technically when you are paying from. The room has recently been decorated. Don't think we will be back again after all these years of staying there sorry.
J.Had an amazing stay with super yummy breakfast the next morning. The cleanest bathroom and the strongest shower with great staff and a super comfy bed.
