M.We stayed as a family - 2 adults and 3 kids.
Per the kids: it was really nice but there were lots of stairs and the elevator was a teeny bit slow. The bunk beds in the family room was awesome because it had curtains so it was like you had your own small room. The view in the kitchen was phenomenal over the lake and the street performers. The TV room was really comfy. It was an "absoloot" stunner.
Per the adults: comfortable beds and the air conditioning was amazing. Each bed had privacy thanks to the curtains. Great find right in the core of Queenstown. No parking but I reckon that's to be expected in downtown Queenstown. One suggestion: the laundry room hours could be longer and better posted as one sign in our room said it closed at 9 but when to do laundry, it was locked and said it closed at 7. A small criticism. Great work team.
T.Great hostel, right in the centre of town. Easy stroll from the bus. Nice sized, clean rooms with good storage (just a extra shelf or table would have been ideal). Kitchen has a cracking view over the lake and good facilities. Staff were really helpful with late checking-in and bag storage while we did the routeburn. We would definitely look to stay again.
A.To when our booking was confirmed, the staff communicated to us about check in times and if there was anyone to be around or not. We did come early before check in but were able to leave our bags there while we walked around town to kill time and to check out the views. We were a family of 3, youngest is 11. We had our own shower and toilet. Beds were comfy. Blanket and pillows were provided also towels. There’s a shared kitchen with a view that looks over the lake. Laundry there for you to use. Family lounge with Netflix and an Xbox. Just an outright homely vibe. We definitely would be coming back here to stay. Highly recommend it
S.Stayed at this hostel for many months and loved it. Facilities are well-maintained and clean, staff are super approachable and down-to-earth. Cannot beat the central location. Nice social vibe in the shared spaces, and yet quiet at night because it's not a party hostel. Could not have asked for a better hostel experience, and would definitely recommend it!

A.I have been traveling in Australia and New Zealand for almost 4 years now and this is one of the best hostels I have stayed at.
The staff are all really nice and approachable for any issues or questions you have, and they were very helpful and knowledgeable when booking me a day tour during my stay.
The rooms are very clean with our ensuite dorm bathroom being cleaned daily and not just when someone checks out like some other hostels I have stayed in, and the kitchen for the most part being kept very clean and tidy also, and even if some of the other guests occasionally leave things unwashed the amazing view makes up for it and it won't be long before the staff tidy it away.
It is a very social hostel but not a party environment and would also be great for families as well as solo travellers like myself, it has a very central location in queenstown with awesome views of the lake.
I highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Queenstown.

L.I have stayed in Absoloot for a couple of times and had the best time in there. The views are incredible and the rooms are very comfortable with everything you need. The kitchen is just amazing, you can have your breakfast with a free tea or coffee and enjoy the views from the kitchen. The location of the hostel is very convenient too, just in the middle of Queenstown and close to everything.. I would recommend this hostel to everyone and would definitely come back here! Thank you guys (the staff, you are the best :)
M.This is by far the best place to stay in Queenstown! The location is perfect and the people there are amazing! After traveling around New Zealand for a year, I can honestly say it was the best place I stayed in. The rooms are clean and well decorated, and the people you’ll meet there, from those just passing through to the ones who stay a bit longer to the staff are what makes this place different (and better!) than the rest.
It’s perfect for any traveler really. I stayed in a shared room when I was there but I will definitely be booking a private room with my family (kiddos included) when I go back.

The bedroom and shower was clean and tidy with lots of plug sockets. The bed was really comfortable.
You can hear the action outside your window but if your having a night out, your out with the noise so had no issue.

C.Great facility, for the price we paid-own bathroom with toiletries, fresh clean towels & bedding, clean room and not too small for the 4x of us (bathroom/toilet a bit tiny) but not complaining at all. It is loud at night but if you have a productive day enough to wear u out then u will sleep like a baby.
Check in was easy, simple and Adam was very kind. We parked up on Lake street n was algood also the shower water pressure was good 👍😁

The environment inside and outside the Absoloot Hostel is amazing; located just a minute away from Queenstown CBD, it is the place to stay if you want to experience the world's capital adventure. Facilities:
Probably the best kitchen facility I have ever come across with absolutely charming view of the lake. Shower and bathrooms were cleaned 3 time a day so every time you use them they were super clean. Rooms were tidy and beds were fresh.
Staff:
Practically helpful! Helped me out trying to rush book coaches to Mitford Sound just the day before when the booking systems were all closed due to after hours.
I felt that the staffs who works there are well respected and treated by the the managing staffs of the hostel which definitely contributes towards positive/vibrant atmospheric quality of the hostel. Also staffs dealt with respect and sympathy to one of the vulnerable backpacker(?) who was maybe going through crisis (alcoholic) due to personal circumstance. Great to witness genuine kindness from the hostel staffs and manager. Hats off to them!
Overall, enjoyed my stay and would definitely return when visiting QT again and wish them best of luck to regain backpackers and tourist from all over the world when Covid is gone.

Couldn't get any closer to the centre of town with every activity, bar and restaurant literally at the front door.
No worries about getting home safe after a night on the town was very handy.

M.I moved to Queenstown many years ago now, for a winter-season. Turned out to be alot longer than that. I booked a bed at Absoloot Hostel, because it was the best location (turned out, not just best location, but also best hostel!) With a beautiful view over Lake Wakatipu and the mountains surrounding. I met the staff, who like me, were there for the same reason. Great Great service and still to this day the best hostel I have stayed in. If I manage to travel back to Queenstown, there is no doubt about where I will stay👍😉😊 Miss this place...
G.Was soooo surprised by this Hostel. We had a family room and it worked great with our style of holiday. It was clean. Close to queenstowns activities so didnt need to drive. Understand that road works interrupted parking but the loading zones and maps on public parking was spot on.

W.Its impossible to overstate how amazing this hostel is. The location is fantastic and in walking distance to many of Queenstown's most popular attractions and right on the water. The feel and atmosphere is cozy and fun. Whether you're traveling with friends or traveling alone (like I did), there was something about Absoloot that just made you feel comfortable.
Now for the people. The owner, manager, and everyone working behind the front desk are ABSOLOOT gems (see what I did there?). They're warm and friendly and demonstrate that they actually care about your stay, and won't hesitate to banter with you down in the lobby. It's an incredibly welcoming feel, and something I really didn't feel at any other hostel over the course of my year in New Zealand.
I'm back in the States now, but there is ABSOLOOT-ly no other place I'd rather stay when I come back to visit.

I did not sleep well in 2 nights in roll due to there were so much loud noise and screaming from the park down stairs. (even up to 02:00 - 03:00 AM)

K.Stayed here for three nights and it was the absolute best (pun intended)! The kitchen on level 2 had fantastic views of the beach and was beautiful day and night. The fridge space was a tad limited but there was room after a quick shuffle. The spare bathrooms down on level one were super handy and in my opinion better then the one in the rooms! Like all other reviews, staff were helpful and chill. And of course - the location was excellent! Smack bang in the middle of everything in Queenstown and miles ahead of most other backpackers! Looking for a place to stay without throwing away all your money... you have just found it!

Rooms kept clean with daily cleaners, ski racks work fine, otherwise a good value pleasant hostel to stay at. Best part about it was the central location, made Queenstown with no car a breeze

N.The room was clean, modern and comfortable while the hostel is right into the centre of Queenstown. A lot of plugs were inside the room, the windows offered an amazing lake view although the shaders could not be removed! Free chocolate and coffee was offered, a fridge and a kitchenette was available!
The staff was polite and provided a smooth check-in experience. A storage room is also available for customers to leave their luggage after check-out!
A bit noisy during nighttime - some people choose not to respect the rules! An onsite night-staff should be considered!
G.Booked 2 dorms for 8 .Very good value for money Right in the heart of Queenstown. You can stroll around the shops, walk by the lake and go back to the accommodation anytime... No need you carry around doing bags or thick jackets just in case it gets cold.. can go to the bar not worrying boot drink and driving!

B.Can't really fault this place! Absolutely AWESOME location and all the staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable with it's own ensuite (which had plenty of room) and it had it's own fridge and microwave. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate and milk was supplied (and replenished) during my stay. The room was clean and tidy and the bed was VERY comfortable - I really had a good sleep! The view from the kitchen is fantastic, looking onto and across the lake with a backdrop of mountains. Highly recommend this place and I will definitely be staying there on my next trip to Queenstown. (The room was nice and warm too thanks to a quiet heatpump).

A.Really nice well equipped hostel, my only complaint would be that it was very noisy outside during my Saturday night stay, other nights we're fine. They do provide free ear plugs of you want them though.
m.Rooms are a good size. Kitchen facilities are great. Close to the water so good views. Only complaint is the top bunks are very creaky so sleeping on the bottom when someone gets on the top can be a bit frightening

I never got to stay in the end but I wish I could have because I was emailing back and forth for days probably driving them nuts and they were nothing but accommodating and patient with my requests for changes to the booking.
