J.Awesome location, very well set up, friendly lads at reception and our room was nice and had all we needed. I'd much rather stay here than an expensive hotel and put the money savings towards one of the many fun activities that Queenstown has to offer. Will definitely stay here again if there is availability when the tourists come back.
F.Good clean hostel, good location, friendly staff! BUT people who were staying the nights when we were there were terrible.Some people were too drunk and made a mess in the toilet. Some others made loud noises a few times at 3-4 am etc.
That's not the hostel's fault really but our trip would've been better without that.... Recommend you not to stay here around New Year's day if you like peace and quiet
J.I've stayed at many hostels across AU, NZ and Europe but Adventure Queenstown Hostel is hands down the BEST hostel I've ever stayed at. The owner Brett has gone into so much detail to create a hostel that is accommodating for the needs of every young traveler. From the rooms, to the kitchen facilities, communal areas and amazing bathrooms, this hostel is clean, comfortable, modern and yet still so homey. Each bunk bed has a little lamp, powerpoint right next to your bedhead, curtain for privacy and designated storage space for each guest. The bunk beds themselves are also incredibly sturdy and super comfy.
The kitchen facilities are honestly incredible for hostel living - gas stoves, all the equipment you could ever want and devoid of that standard 'industrialized kitchen' feel many hostels have.
The staff are friendly, bathrooms cleaned daily, the layout accommodates to those that want some quiet time in the lounge room or catch up with other backpackers in the kitchen. Some hostels are too big that you don't get to know the others staying there - AQ certainly doesn't have this problem. As a solo traveler, you're bound to make mates and probably mates for life. Quality guests, quality vibes and quality accommodation.
I stayed at AQ for 4 months Winter 2021 and I will always cherish the memories and friends I made here. A massive thankyou to Brett and the team
b.Great place. Great location. Nice showers. They have free things to borrow, and have a dedicated locker space which was very handy. My go to place to stay if visiting Q Town.

N.Stayed there over the new year's period. The hostel is very nice but during that period, the reception was open for only a couple of hours a day which is fine, but the washrooms were dirty, there was no toilet paper. I get that new year's eve and day are holidays, but if you've guests staying in the hostel and you're charging the full amount, you need to give them basic services and amenities.
E.Great hostel, always welcoming. Fantastic facilities and bathrooms within the rooms. Curtains on the beds add privacy. Air conditioning in the rooms also makes for outstanding comfort! Great hostel!
H.The Adventure hostel was such a fun experience, my first time staying in a backpackers, and wow 🤩, its a must do. what an experience... Such a friendly, outgoing, and happy staff.. always happy to help. Nice, and clean facilities and bathrooms, beautiful big kitchen.. Heaps of games and social activities, even netflix and a PS4 😍... central to town, and buses.. the smell of delicious food in the air, the stunning views from the balcony for meals.. even a bbq.

C.One of the best hostels I've stayed at (I was there in January). The front-desk staff are helpful in planning your time in Queenstown and knowledgeable about the differences in similar-looking experiences. They will help you find what will be YOUR ideal Queenstown experience. The rooms were clean and beds really nicely arranged. Definitely a step-up from a lot of hostels.
J.This is the Ritz Carlton of hostels, minus the steep price tag. Recently renovated, the most comfortable beds (that don't squeak, even a little!), insane balconies overlooking Queenstown and in the most perfect location. The owner is insanely accommodating and unbelievably cool, you can tell that he is more concerned with people enjoying themselves than with making money... they even have GoPros that you can borrow for you adventures (plus hair dryers, ski/snowboard gear rentals, and basically anything you could ever need during your stay). The whole place is super clean and the kitchen is massive and actually useable. If you're looking for a place to stay in Queenstown, don't bother looking anywhere else - this is the place to be, no doubt. I've stayed at hostels in 20+ countries and I've never been somewhere this nice!
T.Friendly staff members and excellent service! Both check in and out were done smoothly. They gave us a cute name tag when we checked in which made us so much easier to make friends with people in the same room. They also provided free towels and hair dryer :) The shower room is fairly big & clean and the body wash was provided by the hostel. There was also a box full of freebies like shampoo/ conditioner that the previous guests have left behind. I love the idea of sharing! Thank you for the great experience.
D.Very clean. Someone cleans the room every day. Clean towel provided.Front desk guys are very helpful. Special shout out to Max and Danny, you guys rock in helping tourists get around. Clientele are mostly young educated travelers and very considerate of others. Kitchen is very functional. Fridge and cupboard spaces are designated. Free teas, coffee, sugar, and the likes. Loft area is cozy and clean...lots of bean bags available. Location is superb: right where every tourist wants to be, yet not noisy at all in the evenings.
M.Easily one of the best Hostels I've ever stayed in. Clean, friendly staff and heaps of cool amenities for those staying there. Plus a number of fun activities hosted and arranged on a weekly basis. Huge bonus was having a big kitchen and secure storage for Skis/Snowboards and bikes.
M.One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at in the world. Other hostels and people considering opening a hostel should take notes from this place. Everything from the kitchen, lounge space, bathrooms, staff, cleanliness, gear for hire, wifi, welcoming vibes, daily social activities, location etc. was spot on.
M.My partner and I have stayed in about 6 hostels in NZ and this is the best one yet. Very clean which is important to us. Showers are nice with soap in each one, lounge area is spacious and inviting. Unlimited free wifi is great as well as computer access.
It's right in the heart of town. We hiked the Ben Lomond Track and the track started maybe a 10minutes walk from the door.
Free coffee!!!! And tea.
The staff was welcoming and helpful with any questions as well!
Oh, and a grand kitchen.
C.This is by far the best hostel I've ever stayed in! It's located right in the center next to all the best restaurants, and only a 5 minutes walk to Queenstown Gardens, the beach, pier, and hiking trails. The beds are comfortable and clean and equipped with personal charging stations and lamps. The showers are clean and modern (and some even have excellent mountain views). The kitchen is fully equipped with plenty of stoves and ovens, however the pots and pans should be replaced. So many free things that most other hostels charge and arm and leg for! The staff is super friendly...I could go on and on. Stay at this hostel! Such a bang for your buck!

J.What do I start with? That they have the best service from the staff that I've seen in a hostel? Or that the rooms/beds and toilets/showers are extremely nice and clean? Perhaps with the little things like baked goods for free everyday, coffee and tea for free, towels and soap in showers are there in case you forgot yours. Events each night, cool people staying there and much more.
K.Truth be told, I haven't stayed at the hostel yet. But I've been in contact with the manager via email for a blog article - and he's just awesome! Super helpful, friendly, and caring. I'll visit the hostel in February next year and can't wait to see it live.

C.Amazing, AMAZING hostel. Its right in the middle of town, and they provide so much stuff for you! Free bike hire, Netflix in the lounge, I’m pretty sure they rent go pros out for free, 2 computers you can use, and a free event every night of the week! I met such awesome people at the event that a hung out with for the next 4 days while I was in queenstown. And not to mention the rooms are great! Mine had a super nice bathroom and shower in the room and a little cubby for all your stuff below the bed. Just stay here haha you won’t be disappointed.
T.Amazing hostel. Greeted by a friendly Lisa when i first entered. She carefully explained what kind of services they offer and let me know about the rooms etc. This place has such a friendly atmosphere, no one is drunk or wasted. The rooms are nicely sized with cubbies for your belongings (no locks though). Each bed has their own charging ports. They also provide towels and linens.
Adding to the experience, Lisa helped me book a Milford Sound tour that was significantly cheaper than what the other hostels would charge (I found out from a girl staying at another hostel next door she payed 20 dollars more).
Lounge was spacious, and kitchen was clean. This place is perfect :)
P.This is the best hostel I've stayed in. The staff are very nice and helpful. They offer a laundry service and there's a ski tech who does free waxing for snowboards and skis. The hostel has a large fully functional kitchen and plenty of fridges.
R.Calling it a hostel might be underestimating, it's better than lots of hotels! Nice clean rooms, friendly staff, large open common area, free wifi. But the small details are what makes it great, such as drawers underneath your bed, nametags for each bed, a cute little pocket to put your reading glass or keys, well positioned electric sockets, and nice clean towels.
R.My sister and I stayed here for a few nights. The staff was really nice and took us on a brief tour of the facility instead of just telling us. Wifi worked great the entire time. Perfect location and lots of storage for each person.
Y.Absolutely the best hostel I stayed at. The staff are great and helpful. They have great wifi and it's free. They can book anything you like to do and do your laundry for you. Love the idea of the name tags on beds as it helps you remember the names of people staying with you. Only place to stay in Queenstown.

They have like free frisbees and gopros for hire if you stay (which is AMAZING), and the beds are comfortable with outlets for your needs. They even have this cool thing that I've never seen in a hostel: nametags! It helps learn. Your roommates names and get to know them better. Highly recommend. Also, it's really close to Ferg :)
M.This is the perfect Hostel. Especially for Queenstown and for young people.
I stayed in a 6 bed dorm with an attached bathroom. The beds were some of the comfortable beds I ever slept in and the shower was really great.
The kitchen feels more like a nice kitchen at home, rather than a big Hostel-kitchen. And there is a lot of space to store your food.
The Lounge was really cosy. You always met new people or just chilled and watched Netflix on their big Flatscreen TV. The storage units were also great and more than big enough for my backpack and other stuff.
The only downside was, that the WiFi was sometimes a little bit slow or automatically disconnected from your device from time to time. But all in all it was a great stay.
J.Centrally located, this hostel sets a high standard with a great and affordable laundry service, modern kitchen, and high quality bathrooms. The beds are comfortable and the staff is very helpful. I highly recommend staying here as a guest.
V.This is the best hostel I have stayed in in NZ. Have been there for 2 nights and I went back for another 2 nights after a week. It is clean and cozy, the staff is very friendly, they even give you a tour in the hostel. You can borrow bikes and iPads, the kitchen is fully equipped, you can play your own music in the kitchen, watch Netflix or play the PS4 in the common room, you get a towel and 2 pillows and I could go on and on. Also the location in Queenstown is perfect! Definitely a 10 out of 10. I left today and I already miss the hostel and Queenstown.
M.Fantastic facility and amenities catered specifically for a backpacker/light travelers needs. Staff are very helpful, and there are various security measures in place to prevent issues. The daily hostel events organized by staff are a great way to interact with other people.

The staff is very friendly and hosts events most evenings. The atmosphere is very trusting and easygoing. The front dest can help you book trips without a booking fee. They also will let you borrow a GoPro for free for the day. In general they take care of a lot of little details that you would not expect a hostel to cover making the entire much more enjoyable
A.Loved this hostel. Great location in town for walking anywhere you need. They have a great kitchen and hangout room making it easy to meet other people staying there. The staff was super friendly and super good at helping you book and plan your days!

K.We had a very comfortable, cozy 4 bed room with en suite and bright window. The common spaces were many and generous and varied--lots of options for hanging out, cooking, admiring the view. They had everything one could ask for on offer--from ipad loaners to instruments to adapters to go pros--basically anything one might have forgotten but need. They had lots of suggestions for activities. More amenities than many very expensive hotels--but a nicer atmosphere. Enjoy!
A.Really enjoyed my stay here! Two nights was not enough. I spent one night in a shared dorm that was really clean and the bathroom was lovely. My second night was spent in the private room and it was wonderful. The staff is also really kind and helpful. I will definitely stay here again next time I'm in queenstown.
K.I stayed at the AQ for a total of 10 nights.
During that time I got to enjoy all the social events the hostel had to offer on a daily basis. There is always something going on if you want to meet people and submerge yourself in the proper hostel experience. You can also book tonnes of activities directly through them if you wish.
They also offer a washing services for a reasonable $8 and deliver your clothes back to your room meaning you can go on and enjoy your holiday without being stuck inside waiting to do it yourself.
The hostel is in a fantastic location with everything within 5 mins walk (bars, restaurants, lake).
I stayed in a 5 bed all girls dorm with ensuite bathroom. The room was snuggly with a fantastic view of the lake, the bathroom is large and the shower is really powerful.
All the staff that work there are so lovely, they offer great tips and suggestions regaring what to see and expore and they are always working hard cleaning everything from top to bottom to ensure your stay it the most pleasant it can be.
I had a few personal glitches in the week I was staying at AQ and I am so grateful of all the help and support the staff gave me to help me sort out my problems, each and every one of them would always smile, ask me how I was doing and genually cared for my wellbeing. There were so many occasions that they came to my rescue and I want to stress my appreciation to those who really made my stay very special.
I would strongly recommend this hostel and I would certainly come back. I will be sending all my friends there when they come and visit.

G.5 out of 5 location, central to the city. 4/5 cleanliness, and a social atmosphere. Staff was noisy partying until after midnight, though it was the holidays. Reception and manager 2/5, we asked if we could cancel our third night at 48 hours out when we checked in which the receptionist said was no problem then on check out the manager was condescending about. Overall 3/5 stars.
j.Without a doubt, the best hostel i've stayed in. Super friendly staff, great facilities and tonnes of nice little touches like free towels, a washing service, netflix, fast wifi, name badges on your bed so as to help remember your roomates etc. It felt very secure and somewhere where I could actually chill out and get some sleep, it was very clean and tidy. The owner genuinely strives to provide the best value for money unlike many other robbing outfits in town, which are charging more money for a poor stay!

B.The quintessential hostel located in the coolest little town on earth! My friend and I absolutely loved the AQ Hostel. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful - making lots of phone calls and reservations on our behalf. You could not find a hostel more perfectly located - in the heart of town and a block away from Ferburger and The Cookie Bar. Best part of the whole hostel? The BED... Yes the bed! Our beds were super comfortable and didn't make any noises when getting in and out (which is incredible for a hostel). The week is also jammed packed with fun activities at the hostel from movie nights and family style roasts to trivia nights and scavenger hunts. Couldn't recommend it enough - we had a great time.
E.My favorite hostel! The magic is in the details here. Guests get 2 pillows each, a bed curtain, and an outlet with USB at each bed. Nice tiled showers. Laundry service. Free iPads and bikes for borrowing, unlimited free wifi... Friendly atmosphere too!
v.During the year I lived in New Zealand I stayed in many different hostels big and small. This little hostel in Queenstown is a small shiny pearl, that have some tremendous offers, and provide a fantastic service. In other words: it was simply the best by far!!
E.This is the best hostel I have ever stayed in! Beds have good pillows and linens and they give you a free towel to use during your stay. The bathrooms are modern. I stayed in Justine's room and the shower had a great view of the mountains. The kitchen is modern and cooking oil, salt and pepper are always available for use. They host nightly events from movie night to a roast dinner. They also have free netflix and wifi and they hire things like ipads and bikes out for free. I wish I could have stayed here longer. I can't give this place enough praise!
A.Best hostel ever, you you won't regret it, clean, comfortable, nice lounge areas, perfect kitchen and plenty benefits you won't believe, need a spice to cook, free coffee, towel, borrow a goPro to video all the activities in Queesntown and plenty more, you got it. I loved the place.
I.The staff was super super nice and friendly! The rooms, the kitchen and the restrooms were clean and modern. All of the things you get there for free (WiFi, storage room, Towles, bedding, bikes and go pros for rental and much much more) were great. They have lots of hooks in the room which is cool as well. Ever bed has it's own reading light, 2 sockets and 2 USB plug-ins and a little pouch that is attached to the wall where you can put your phone or a book. Every room I've stayed in so far has air conditioning.
They host stuff like movie nights and barbecues as well, which is a great idea and you get to meet people that way.
They have a nice lounge where you can just hang out and watch Netflix or TV, in that room they have 2 computers as well which you can use for free.
The Location is central, you are right on the main street of queenstown, but it's not noisy or anything. You can enjoy the sun out on the wrap around balconies.
All in all I really really recommend this Hostel and it is worth every dollar you pay for it. It's the best Hostel I've ever stayed in!
N.This place was great! So many people that just enjoy hanging around with each other and having a great time! I'd say the staff also have a blast long with it. I'd definitely say the no.1 thing was the view in the winter on the balcony which also happened to be the worst at night in the cold! Definitely recommend it for anyone considering the stay!

I.Well organised. Kitchen was perfect. Wifi is ok in common area. Everything what I needed was all provided by friendly staff. The small light, two sockets, towel, two pillows on each beds.

Le meilleur Backpackers que j'ai visité en Nouvelle-Zélande. Quelques détails qui changent un séjour : tout est propre et impeccable et dans chacun des lits des dortoirs: petit rideau, lumière de chevet, 2 prises électriques ainsi que 2 prises usb personnelles. Jamais vu cela ailleurs, on sent que les propriétaires se sont inspirés de leurs propres voyages et expériences en auberge. Personnel vraiment accueillant, bravo.
