Host Pete is an enthusiastic, welcoming treat, his passion for hosting experiences really shows. Extremely knowledgeable about local vineyards, and thorough in his welcoming tour.
Facilities are clean and the kitchen surprisingly modern and well stocked.
Bike hire was easy and he allowed us to pitch right in the garden which worked a charm.
Really enjoyed our stay, cheers Pete

I stayed here for 2 nights in room 5. A private room with en-suite. Some people may be put off by their first impressions which is a fairly tight car park. However, once you get by this (and the owner is always on hand to help you navigate this area), you can start to appreciate the place. The main building is flanked by a beautiful garden with loads of comfy chairs and hammocks to relax in. The room does the essentials really well. Good WiFi and possibly one of the best showers in New Zealand.
However, it is the host, Peter, whose personal touch really elevates this from good to special. He is always on hand to make personal recommendations about where to go in the area and has an in depth knowledge of the local vineyards. Very enjoyable stay.

Perfect place to stay to bike around to the wineries. Peter is a wealth of knowledge and will tell you the best places to go depending on your taste. Great kitchen as well! Feels very homely there.

I’m writing this review a bit late but I really wanted to give a 5 stars review on this one. Peter, the owner and manager, is really friendly and always looking to help everyone staying there. Kitchen is fully equipped and very clean. Affordable prices as well.

We have been here two times at the end of January. We first stayed two days to explore the Marlbourough wineregion. The owner, Peter, can rent you bikes en most importantly he gives you very personal tips & tricks on the best spots to go to.
The place itself is a very easy going small campsite and motel. Its looks actually like a very cozy backyard. In the facility area is everything you wish for. A well equipped kitchen, very clean toilets and showers, gameroom, pool tabel, tennis court are available for the guests. The owner Peter is a wonderful man who wishes te best for his guests.
We loved our stay here. We came back a week later because this Campsite is also well located to Picton. So it's only a 25 minute drive to the ferry.
Thank you Peter for a wonderful experience. We still talk about our stay at your place.
Greetings, Mathijs en Anne

Fantastic service and great experience.
We came for the vineyard bike tours. Peter, the hostel manager, made it easy for us to hire bikes and took us through the best route to take.
The facilities are great. Really good WiFi and pool table which is free to use.
After our stay we realised we forgot a phone charger. Peter was so lovely and offered to drop it back to us.

Peter could not have been more helpful. We arrived in our camper van in a rush to go on a wine cyling tour. Peter parked our van in a tight spot & we got off cycling. When we got back he had even connected the power.
The facilities are great & very clean. The kitchen has everything. The showers are hot & clean. The wireless is free & fast.
What more could you ask for in Renwick.

The owner of this hostel is a really nice guy. He was extremely helpful and always willing to go the extra mile for his guest. He dropped us off to a vineyard as we didn't have much time to take the bikes there and then also picked us up once we finished. Location was key, room was great and kitchen was also clean.

I stayed here 2 nights whilst being on a cycle touring trip. Hosts were SUPER helpful and caring for me to be as comfortable as possible and made sure I could safely store my bike overnight. Early days of Spring are still quite cold so I was even given extra blankets and hot water bottle for my stay. The lodge is very clean, well maintained, peaceful, lovely garden and balcony for those lazy morning or afternoon and covers all the bases travellers need. I would definitely come back if Im in the area! Thank you Watsons Way! :)

Amazing owners who were immensely helpful and hospitable. Don't be put off by the fact that initially feels a little like a car park. The facilities themselves are great. Best wifi of all campsites we visited. Easy access to great vineyards

The most beautiful hostel ever! A huge garden with hammocks and herbs we could use. The room was a bit small, but the beds very sturdy! The owner helped us with everything, we rented bikes and a got a map to find the vineries! Kitchen was big and had all the amenities. There is ping pong table and a tennis court, also a tv with Netflix. Cannot recommend enough!

We spent three nights in Watsons Lodge and felt there at home:) the owner is very hospitable, helpful, friendly and gives great tips about the area. Our room was bright and cosy, the kitchen well equiped and very clean. You can rent bikes for wine tour around Renwick. Highly reccomended!

We hired bikes here. Brand new good looking bikes in very good condition. We also got A wine trail map and a list of free wine tasting cellar doors with it. It is so sweet that they give you a cookie time cookie and a bottle of water . Excellent wine trails experience!

The best place we've stayed in New Zealand. If you are looking for a spacious, clean, affordable place with the friendliest and most helpful owners look no further. Note: we've stayed here from March, when the currwnt owners just took over from the precious ones. The facilities have improved and way more beds and camper/tent places are available now.
E.
Great hostel. Owner was super friendly and helpful. Close to loads of vineyards. Massive kitchen with all the appliances you would need. Camping spots also offered on site
M.
Fantastic location with good amenities. Cheap camper parking. Would be packed in peak season. Peter is not only a great bloke, but a fantastic host. I will be back here again!

Best place to stay in Marlborough for wine tastings. Decent bike rental prices, perfect location, great wifi, friendly, helpful owner, and lots to do on a rainy day. Could not ask for more.

We turned up in the dark without a reservation and we just weren't expecting the high level of hospitality we received - Sindy & Peter are the kindest hosts and made us feel so welcome! They had everything we needed including heaps of info about all the local activities. Would definitely recommend and hopefully will return one day . Thanks guys! X

Cheap place to rent bikes and spend the night after a day biking around the vineyards. Not many bathrooms though so showers took awhile in the morning.
