A.Stayed for 2 nights, staff very friendly, we were given a box chocolates as it was Christmas Day. Room was big enough for 2 adults, but no kitchen, although microwave oven, toaster, kettle , fridge were all available. Bathroom and toilet on separate sides. We got one with a spa outside, not very well kept, not like in pictures. Also no light indoors, have to keep curtains drawn, can get quite stuffy during summers. Overall ok for a short stay.
S.It's a good place to stay maybe one night? It's definitely affordable but not fancy at all and needs some renovation. You feel the room shaking because the outside traffic, not ventilation in the bathroom. We didn't use the spa bath...looked ok. You might have to use Google translate to talk to the friendly couple from reception as they don't understand English. But it's fine and part of the experience too.
S.We usually come here when visiting Rotorua. Place is always clean and the staff are always friendly. Only downside is that if you are in one the units close to the road, the trucks driving past will shake the whole unit - good if you would like an earthquake experience!

j.Staff friendly. Room and bathroom very spacious. Wonderful Spa Bath. Bed comfy. Whakarewarewa across road, Redwoods 30-40 minutes walk.Reasonably priced. A few things need attention to make visitor stay a pleasant one. A kitchen sink to wash personal dishes, T.V. to be positioned on wall, not above microwave shelf.. Closet put next to bed, not by kitchen ware. T.V. reception needs correcting. Wall heater needs replacing, finally, bathroom needs a vanity cupboard to place our toiletries on. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay for what it was worth. I will come back again.

a.Stayed at one of the small home sections of the motel and overall it was fine. Did have issues with crickets waiting in every corner of the house and shower drainer was blocked too, which made showering near impossible as it would soak into the carpet. Other than these issues, a generally comfortable stay. A fair price if you and multiple others split the bill otherwise a tad bit expensive.

T.The setting was very pretty with beautiful flower-filled hanging baskets outside of the doors. The hosts were very pleasant to deal with at all times. Good location at south end of town. The price wasn't bad. I am looking forward to my next stay there, infact im trying to make an excuse to go back Thanks for a memorable weekend.
L.Clean, comfortable and welcoming. Milk was provided at checkin for tea coffee etc, free wifi, late checkout accomadated , friendly helpful staff, good value for budget, will definitely come back
J.Lovely room with a Jacuzzi down stairs. Living accommodation upstairs and a lovely view of the lake. Very clean accommodation and the couple that run the motel really go out of there way to make sure your visit is as good as it can be. R.Rooms are affordable which is a plus but you get what you pay for (no negative intended) which in this case was ok. Very 70s-80s style bathroom. Vinyl floors, acrylic showers with soap dispensers, medium water pressure and a self contained kitchen which was great. No Aircon or fan, on a hot day its a challenge! We got a double room with a twin and single bed. One of the Tv's doesn't work and after we rented 3 DVDs it turned out the DVD player didnt work which was annoying. Some of the pillows smelled like mould and some walls in the bathroom showed mould. I think the place just needs a small renovation to bring it up to the current century. But then the price will most likley increase :). We didnt use the spa but I can imagine that being good fun. ***Update*** They replaced our DVD player which was great thank you.
K.My daughter and I and her 4 boys stayed for 3 nights. It accomodated us all ok but we found a number of things lacking....and reading some previous reviews...they hvnt been addressed ..inc the cleanliness. There was a build up of grime on kitchen bench..dust that hadnt been cleaned up for what looked like- quite a while on skirting boards..floors..base of toilet...the shower needed a really gd clean. In fact..most surfaces inc rail to stairs and walls needed a gd clean!! The kettle needs to go!! There was no plug for basin in bathroom. The heater cdnt be plugged in if you wanted tv on as well. We hd hot water in bathroom but not in kitchen...was fixed when it was nearly time for us to leave. Hd to ask for dish cloth and tea towel. No salt/pepper. And please get rid of plastic flowers everywhere!!!! Outside area also was quite shabby..again cd do with gd clean and tody up. Other than those things...was handy to town!!!
V.Great location! Big room, clean and calm. There is a citchenette with a fridge, a microwave, tee amenities. Free parking. Wi-fi is too slow. A hot tub doesn't work properly but there is a hair dryer in the bathroom. Nice place for small budget
G.Booked a room through a third party website several days in advance and when we arrived the booking hadn't been showing up on the system. Despite being sold out of the rooms we had booked the Birchwood Spa Motel made room for us and upgraded us to a bigger room for the same price. Very impressed with their service and made what could have been a very unpleasant experience a great one!

T.Stayed at Birchwood spa motel the weekend of raggamuffin and was a great weekend. Clean room with the added attraction of an outdoor (private) hot water bath. A short walk to Mr Yakatori restaurant ( in the Distinction complex for a meal) Quite a distance from the main shopping area if you are walking.

T.We found this gem through the Rotorua Info Site. From our room we could see steam rising from the geysers across the road. For us it is centrally located and we find the unit most suitable for a weekend away from home. The charge of NZ$120/night seemed reasonable value for Rotorua.
A.If you're staying upstairs then make sure you close your windows properly. The whole room shakes if a heavy vehicle passes by.
