This place was amazing. Lovely Host's. Took us on last minute with no bookings and wen we extended our stay they where happy to accommodate us. NO live in tenets and plenty of space for a large family group ( 7 of us). Hot mineral spa. Big outdoor pools very well maintained. Close to everything was a wonderful place to stay

Host was very welcoming and hospitable. Stayed in the cottage. Own carpark. Very secluded from rest of motel. Three bedrooms with enough space and facilities to enjoy our stay immensely. Beds were very comfy. Fully equipped kitchen with all the modcoms. Spacious lounge and dining area. Will definitely be returning for another holiday and will stay longer next time. Thank you so much.

Great owners, clean, spacious and Tidy rooms. Good pricing when dealing direct with owners. Outdoor Pool is heated so perfect for summer.

Very hospitable and clean motel. Our kids had an awesome time swimming in the heated pool. We will be back for future trips. Thank you.

Let me begin with positives, the location is centrally located and the host is extremely hospitable. The warm swimming pool and thermally heated private pools is a huge plus point. The bed is cozy and the view in room 27 is beautiful. Few suggestions the motel needs improvement on: 1- The room heater does not do justice to keep the room warm 2- WiFi doesn’t have a great connectivity (would be a bummer for business travellers) 3- Water Taps are old fashioned which jams during winter, making it tough to close it. 4- Old fashioned frying pan needs to go and non-stick pans should be replaced :)

Excellent helpful and friendly hosts. Lovely clean room. There were mineral baths to soak in and a heated pool. We visited the redwood tree walk at night which was fabulous. The fish n chip shop across the road was the best too. Loved our stay! Thanks😊

Great place, great hosts. Villa accomodation is perfect for a family, it’s modern, has great beds, super clean & sky TV for the kid’s was perfect. Daily service of the rooms. And then there’s the pools, this place is a must stay kids or not. Excellent value too.

Awesome owners. They don't do emergency housing so it is still working as a proper motel. Just what you need a when visiting Rotorua. Awesome pools

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly. We took advantage of the free use of the barbecue. The pools and trampoline were the highlight of my granddaughters stay. Would definitely go back if the chance should arise.

What an amazing family friendly motel the Cleveland is. We stayed two nights and never wanted to leave. The heated pool and mineral pool was beautiful and so relaxing. Our 7 year old had a lovely time making friends with other children who were staying at the motel, bouncing on the trampoline with them and playing on the playground. Great safe environment for children. The host's were so friendly,kind and helpful and on arrival gave our son a chocolate fish and a chocolate each for the grown ups. Our room was beautiful clean and tidy with everything we needed the beds and pillows were so comfortable.We'll be back for sure.

What a Fantastic Motel for Family holiday stay in Rotorua! Newly Renovated Bathroom and bedrooms, Fantastic location, Super Friendly Owner and Staff, Big and Nice warm swimming poor & Mineral pool! Kids Playground. Man! This Motel got everything you could ask for. My Family are so pleased with everything this Motel is offering. I'd recommend this Motel to anyone.

Great place for a family holiday. Booked a 1 bedroom unit for 2 adults, 2 kids. Unit was clean and beds comfy. Facilities included 2 trampolines, swings, outdoor heated pool, 2 thermal pools. Close to town and all the adventures and sights Rotorua has to offer

Awsome Family place. Hot thermal pool. Spent the weekend there with 12others including my 4year old moko. He loved it well equipped with activities for kids. Tramps swings lots of room.

(Room booked: studio) Warm welcoming and helpful staff, semi centrally located with good amenities close by, spacious newly and tastefully rennovated room, well equiped kitchen, large bathroom with great pressure in the shower. The heated outdoor pool was a hit with our son, while the thermal "adult pools" allowed for great relaxation at the end of the day. Limited play equipment for children however the swings and trampolines kept our son well amused.

Awesome Motel. Cleanliness A++ Motel is very hot but they had Air conditioning in the room and dinning room which was awesome. Spoke to the owner of the Motel and we were signing out he was very awesome and very openly polite. I will definitely recommend this place.

The woman looking after the property was very helpful and accommodating. The property is well maintained as are the rooms. Well worth the price Will be back again with a group booking.

Don't be deterred by the less than fancy exterior, the inside room furnishings including bathrooms are all updated and first class. More importantly, the beds are really comfortable. Did I mention these folks are the most helpful and passionate hotel owners we've yet found in NZ? Great place. Everything you need.

Our room was newly renovated, big and spacious. The bed was very good. The host was very friendly and gave us good suggestions for places to visit and places to eat. We had a soak in the thermal pool and the host cared to remind us to drink water before and after the soak. Would definitely stay here when we next visit Rotorua.

The king-sized bed in my room was comfortable. Room & bed was quite good. The tub in the room was wonderful. A team of professional staff are ready to offer their expertise. A couple of blocks from the best shopping ever. We were close to the city and most attractions. Would highly recommend to all.

Traveled up from Hawkes Bay for my aunties funeral, a wonderful place for my daughters to play and swim safely, rooms are very warm, made a stressful time easier, the owners are amazingly friendly, we will be back to explore Rotorua and relax here again.

Great place to stay for family's. Its a total value for money. I was greeted with a smile on numerous occasions. The kitchenette is a nice bonus. The buffet food is sensational for buffet food. Almost as good as my bed back home. There was a market nearby to stock up on supplies.

We stayed at the Econo Lodge Cleveland in Roturua and must say it was an excellent experience. Our room at the end of the hall was quiet. Amenities at the hotel were fantastic. All the staff were very friendly and courteous at the hotel. Good surprise taking into consideration the price.

Check In was pleasant, with the friendly staff happy to show us around the various facilities. There are onsite mineral pools for guest use, you just need your own towels or rent one for $2 from reception. The rooms were dated, but were comfortable and clean. The swimming pool was a favourite with guests, everytime we drove past, there was always someone in it. The only negatives are that there were no fly screens on the windows, so the insects come in at night if you leave the windows open on those warm nights. There's also no air conditioning, so you have to rely on the one stand fan in the room.

We stayed here for 3 nights in a double room. The location was great - easy to get around. Transportation is easy to the hotel. The best feature is the convenience. From the moment we walked through the doors we were greeted with a warm welcome. At the weekend there is a brilliant value for money.

Friendly and comfortable accomodation. Bonus thermally heated pool so that you can swim in the rain. Has mineral pool for hot soaking. Kitchenette allows you to cook very simple meals. The management has a separate kitchen to cook strong smelling food.

I was introduced to this motel 25 years ago, and whenever I visit Rotorua, which I try do at least once a year for a winter break, it is here I stay. Now and then I might treat myself to one of the flash hotels but their pool is nothing compared to the pool in Cleveland Motel. And it is handy to everything. My children, with their children like this place as well. The owner Brij keeps the place so nice and clean. This is a lovely, family friendly Motel.

I love the pools because they are all so warm and they are not to warm or cold they are perfect!! Amazing location, very close to the lake but our car did scrape on the speed bump coming in the enterence everytime we go over it, even if we slow down and our car is not that low and the pool and ubove the stove was a bit dirty but it was amazing and i love the pools and the property and the deck cause it is very nice to sit on!! Love it here

Very comfortable and brand new appartment with an indoor hot pool and outside pool. Closed to the lake promenade and not far from the city center restaurants. We were welcomed by the owners, very friendly people and concerned about their customers.

Had a wonderful special wedding anniversary trip staying here and Brij and Ronette were the perfect hosts. They were so friendly and helpful with information on places of interest to visit and will always stay here in the very comfortable rooms when we come to Rotorua again. Thankyou.

One of the nicest, cleanest little motels I have stayed in. Awesome service and beautiful grounds. I love the mineral baths too, an attraction in themselves! It is more like visiting family when you stay there. I will be visiting from Aus in November and will be making a beeline to the Cleveland AGAIN.

We stayed here 2years ago, whilst visiting from scotland. A revisit last week, nice clean motel, friendly hosts, cant wait for our next visit!! The kids loved the pool, i loved the mineral pools

Absolutely awesome accomodation

Not far from ***y attraction and activity on Rotorua. Rooms are very tidy not flash but very comftable. Staff were brilliant offering to pick me up from bus station when I was arriving late evening as a sole traveller. Stayed at lots of places in Rotorua, can't beat Sport of Kings in Peace St.

Old style motel, freshly done up but same old style interior. Comfortable, very small bathroom, big kitchen but basic. Thermal heated pool and separate hot mineral baths. Washers and dryers available. Very helpful owners.

This was my favourite motel in Rotorua to stay at while I was travelling as a sales rep. The main reasons for my love of the place was that, apart from being close to the city centre and also the Paradise Valley/Fairy Springs tourist areas, it had the BEST private hot mineral pools and wonderfully HUGE outdoor heated swimming pool around. I visited again this week and am thrilled to be able to report that, under Brij and Ronette's NEW MANAGEMENT, the place is better than ever for any guests, be you part of a sports team, a travelling couple, a tourist group or even on your own. The friendly hospitality from this International couple will help you to enjoy your stay in Rotorua so much that you will never want to stay anywhere else in Rotorua on a future visit and you will be pleased and confident to recommend the ECONO LODGE ROTORUA to any and all of your travelling friends in future - because I do - wholeheartedly.

A lot of motel or hotel in Rotorua have heated pool and mineral pool but if you have lots of gears or toys that you tow with a trailer there is no problem with Cleveland. Big grounds to park almost anything.

We loved this place and would definitely stay there again, from the first phone call the staff were great, we booked and paid on arrival, lovely clean suites with everything you would need, the pools are great even the big one is heated and when we came back from our cousins wedding breakfast was on the table for us for the morning, a lovely touch.

Great spot and nice managers who have recently started there but bathrooms and pools were not cleaned well at all. Hopefully this will change in the near future :)
