We enjoyed our stay here. We stayed at the tent site , Cheap only 40 dollars a night. Maybe no suitable for larger tent as the site is on the smaller size. They have pool and hot pool. Nice and fresh and not crowded when we were there. Clean facilities. Kitchen has microwave , stove, fridge. They have some pots and pans but I would definitely bring my own to be on the safe side. We will be going back.

A lovely quiet spot. Extremely clean and well maintained facilities and easy access level caravan sites. Would be helpful if all sites had close by water access? The hot pools are immaculate and with it being close to town it's a perfect place. We look forward to staying again in the winter months. Roger D.

Awesome. Very clean, very tidy. Super friendly host/receptionist. Wonderfup and cute dog at reception. The free mud pools and hot spring area leading to the lakefront beach were fantastic

Lovely wee campsite - friendly staff! Great place to bring your paddle board with a quick trip to the lake! Less than 3 mins and walking distance!

A lovely two night stay, rented 1x powered site and 2 cabins with toilet and mini kitchen. This is a perfect spot. I was surprised how quiet it was for the long weekend, but that suited us fine. The hot pools are just delightful to wake up to first thing in the morning. We also went to the lake and dug for hot water, which was very easy to find. Well priced, helpful young man at the desk. Plenty of room for the caravan and to park the car as well.

Absolutely LOVE the Cozy Cottage! We have been stating here for the last 12 years, every odd year & it is still amazing from the 1st stay to this stay! Started comming here with 3 children & we now have 6, who all love it too! I would recommend it to anyone. Camping in the summer is amazing, in the Dorms with a big group, Family Studio is so warm & comfy in the winter. Highlight is all the facilities it provides - pool, hot tubs, steamer, playground, lake access etc. We will be back real soon. Thank you once again!!

Love this place. Good family atmosphere. We stayed in family unit 5 single bed and one double bed. Would gladly stay again. HOt pool on-site. Rural setting yet handy to town. Clean, peaceful, comfortable, affordable. We were even able to steam our own hangi in the puia on site. The manager is a nice guy. We double booked and totally botched his booking system, but he gave us a refund even though it was our mistake.

Lovely helpful staff, clean and tidy rooms. Awesome clean facilities: showers have great water pressure. Bonus free great hot pool facilities and giant cold swimming pool the kids will love. Close to the beach and a free steam oven to give steam cooking a go!

The owner was so kind and accomodating, letting us come late at the last minute! The hot pools were so relaxing and well maintained, great kitchen facilities and good water pressure in the showers. Toilets kept nice and clean and there’s a cat! Will definitely stay here again next time I’m in Rotorua.

Great value for money. Superb location for kids - hot pools x 3 and swimming pool. Ultra clean toilet block great parking. Hangi pit for steam cooking. Short walk to Eat Street 1.8km. Hospital and thermal park very close by. Security barrier.

We booked for 1 adult and 2 children but only had enough bedding for one bed. Lucky we could share the blankets as it was hot enough. Even though the website said some beds would not made the email confirmation said they would be so I didn't bring any more bedding. Opening hours of the office are far too short - to close reception at 6pm and charge customers if the check in after 8 is not good customer service. People leaving home after work cannot make it there in time unless they live very close.

Good value clean basic accomodation, steam oven- takes 3 5hrs to cook all your food it's very nice (bring tin foil). hot water at the beach if you dig down, 3 hot pools very good (hottest is 42 deg) , 1 cold pool. nice hot showers, Central to City and lake Cruise etc.

Nice secluded spot right next to the lake. Thermal activity means free hot pools and a steam box for cooking hangi style. The camp is very spacious and had no problem with 8m caravan.

Booked in for 2 nights 3 Adults cabin with toilet at $240. Good Things: Hot showers - on site hot pools - easy access to the lake Not so good things: Mobility access was poor - No disabled showers - Ramp to cabin very steep/narrow doorway into cabin.

Liked • Great place to stay. So many things to do with the family at no extra cost. Like the hangi steamer, bbqs, swimming pool and hot pools. Great being able to dig our own hot pool down the beach aswell. The room was sufficient for what we required for the night And matched the description given. Disliked • The steel edging around the pool was all corroded and had very sharp edges. This was a very dangerous hazard and had the potential to cause a bad laceration. I had to make sure my children kept away from the edges multiple times. This is a health n safety issue that needs attention ASAP.

Such a great place to stay if you are in a motorhome. My partner and two kids had a late check in and stayed two nights for a super affordable price and were greeted by two very lovely gentlemen who were polite, helpful, and just made our time there very relaxed and peaceful. The kitchen is spacious and everything we needed to wash dishes were there. Bathrooms and showers were clean and spacious also! Loved the tables by the bbq area. The pukekos were also our favourite part of staying here, they are spectacular birds. Playground is a great addition for the kids to keep them busy :) not too far from town and very quiet area so sleeping is not a bother at all. Will come back again and recommend to friends!! Thank you guys

Love love love this little gem. I always book the. Cosy cottage for my parents, it's a stones throw away from city centre and kuirau Park and the award winning bakery, super friendly staff and has awesome thermal pools. would reccomend this place 💯

Nice place, very well cleaned, cabins include basic cooking facilities, kitchen sink, small fridge. Toilets and showers are communal/shared and very clean. 3 hot tubs and an unheated swimming pool. A geothermal steam hangi oven. Naturally occurring boiling mud onsite. Cabin walls were a bit thin but otherwise it was a nice peaceful stay.

its a good place for low budget accommodation, will not receomend for summer stay as its very hot and there is no air conditioning the rooms. It is very near to all attractions, and shopping centers. Good hot pools as they change water every day.

Awesome place, if you are going to put your own tent then bring commercial power cable with you because they don’t have. We reach there about 5 o’clock in evening and they don’t have commercial power cables then we just bought from bunnings.

A great variety of both accommodations and amenities. Can help you with budget accommodations for a backpacker or family from camping, RVing, dorms, or rooms. The accommodations aren't fancy, and they're a bit run down, but the parts you need are just fine. They have a thermal pond right on site, as well as a pool, steam oven to use, playground, and hot pools. Just take a quick walk down the street to the park and you can see a full thermal park experience. The lake had access right at the end of the road a couple buildings away.

Stayed here for two nights in winter in one of the family rooms in the long building. The room was immaculate, the staff very friendly (and patient!) and the place excellent for children. I thoroughly enjoyed access to the beach and the hot water pools. The thermal activity on the property is a treat, with its pool of boiling mud and hot water stream. It's a caravan and camping site as well, so not luxurious, but comfortable and well maintained. The rooms are only heated with a single oil heater on the wall, which just took the edge off the cold - I would have appreciated it warmer. If you have noisy neighbours, you can hear them through the walls, plus their internet provider is dodgy (management are following this up). All in all, a great, reasonably priced property for the family. Would recommend!

Love it! Camped in our caravan..nice and level. Hot pools were divine but get busy early evening so advise to go in afternoon. We cooked a haangi in the steam oven which was really really good including a steam pudding 😉😀😃was so simple to prepare and cook...highly recommend...we will return

We stayed here for 5 nights over New Years, we were camping and stayed on one of the heated campsites which was pretty cool however it still gets cold at night, super windy so be prepared. Hot thermal pools were great and free to use, also if you get a chance to use the Hangi to cook food do it ! The kitchen area is always busy so using the Hangi is a better idea. Also bear in mind you need to take your own kitchen supplies as nothing is provided, so bring your own pots, pans, cutlery, etc. There is a hot lake access behind the campsite and you can rent a shovel and dig your own hot pool which is pretty cool. It’s only a 15 min walk Into the city centre of Rotorua, and lots to do. Great little campsite !

I've camped here twice. The location is great, it's only about a 15 min walk into town. Camping is on the expensive side ($22pp for a non powered site, off season), and the sites aren't huge. The kitchen isn't very well equipped - there aren't even utensils, which can make cooking while you're camping a bit more difficult. There is a bbq though, and a covered area outdoors to eat. We had a heated site - the ground is warm under your tent which is great in winter. The hot pools are great and staff are friendly - we'll be back.

Awesome stay with our campervan here. Clean facilities, plenty of space in the kitchen compared to other holiday parks in NZ. Good stuff.

Pretty nice place. Busy and bustling. Good toilet and shower areas. Clean and well maintained. Nice having a swimming pool and hot soak tubs. 5 minute walk to the lake edge where you can dig a hole in the sand and soak in the warm thermal water.

Only good thing was the close proximity of the location. Otherwise the prices are high and the hot pools had insects floating in the morning when we wanted to go. The lake access is close by but it's quite okay. Pictures of lake access are attached too. Toilets were clean.

Excellent basic accommodation. Spotlessly clean. We booked cabin with toilet and used common amenities for shower. Thermal pools are great for relaxing in. Very quiet area near end of cul-de-sac. Staff are very helpful and will give you whatever you need. They have is a coffee plunger, which was great.

It's OK. Good facilities and convenient location.

It is close to Lake but a little bit distance to center. As most people stay here are with a car so the location should not be an issue. Of course, it is not the best location but good in price. We book for a six people stay accommodation, the room is tidy, but quite small, you can find from the picture. The Wi-Fi is not good, only 300MB for a person for two nights and speed is slow. No oven, no air conditioning so might be hot in the summer. As the price is budget, so it is more recommended in winter. It has a thermal pool in the holiday park which is one of the best part. If you want a clean, affordable, Good facility, you can try here but kitchen is small in house.

This place was an absolute gem to find! We loved the pool and the mineral spas and the beach. But due to the size of the tent sites (very small) we were packed tightly next to our neighbours on either side. The camp states no loud noises but we had some very noisy neighbours who stayed up until after midnight talking and laughing loudly outside. Such a shame as we would have stayed longer if we could actually get some rest. I recommend only coming to stay if you have a small tent and a small vehicle.

Pretty basic amenities but good washing facilities for clothes. Showers are basic and lower standard to Top 10 sites but cleaned everyday. You can cook food in the outdoor steam ovens and chill in the two hot pools. Nearest eatery for good coffee and all day breakfast NB is the Third Place Cafe - a short drive or 15 min walk away.

Nice spot right next to the beach and in amongst a lot of thermal activity! They have spades you can rent out to go and dig your own hole on the beach and make your own little thermal pool by the sea. Really good fun and recommend for families or groups. Decent thermal pools and swimming pool within the complex too. Nice staff. Free WiFi.

Friendly welcoming owner. Lovely hot pool, private and well maintained. Dog friendly as well. Nice rooms basic but comfortable. Would stay again.

We enjoyed our stay and we will be back

The hot pools are way too small for the amount of people in this campsite (more than 100 people and just 2 slightly bigger than a hot tub) so if you are after a hot pool, spare yourself and go somewhere else. Toilets and kitchen clean, although the kitchen got very crowded at dinner time.

A nice place to stay. The cabin was very clean and reasonably priced. The mineral water hot tubs are definitely the highlight.

Our family stayed in the standard two bedroom unit. We have visited in July for the past two years now. The rooms are clean and tidy and have thermal heating which quicky heats up the rooms. We also tried our own hangi using their steam oven outside. Apart from some noisy kids knocking on our wall and another person taking our parking spot, it was a good stay.

We stayed on 18 campsites during our trip from Queenstown to Auckland and this site was by far the best. Super clean, well equipped kitchen and laundy, 3 lovely hot pools, a swimming pool and access to a private beach. Well worth the price of $53 for a powered site for 2 people. I would highly recommend this campsite.

Laidback cabins with great access to the quiet Lake Rotorua and Hot Water Beach. It's also nearby the main roads where there are bigger stores and fast food chains. This isn't exactly luxury but love how fellow guests feel like a small community here and everything is in close vicinity. We got the cabin without a toilet but the communal one was more than sufficient: warm water, good water pressure and insulated toilet.

Cosy place we camped in Rotorua. This place is conveniently located in the city and short driving distance to the city center. Couple of minutes walk to the lake. Make sure you dig up sand in the beach for some thermal fun :) The kitchen is small and busy always. Toilets are clean; the hot pools are awesome with natural minerals right from the nearby lake. The thermal/steam cooking area is fun and the our food came out very tasty. You need to pay a deposit and rent the kitchen pots/plates, cups etc.., The front desk/ reception folks are extremely friendly and even allowed a late check-in after 10 PM. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who's visiting Rotorua area. BTW, make sure you pick up the discount coupon from the lobby for any activity like Zorbing or white water rafting.

Stayed 1 night only and got here after hours. It was nice that the park had a process for late comers where you could see available spots at the reception and just pay for your stay the next day. There are 2 hot spring pools (essentially, hot tubs) near the restrooms and you can easily walk to the lake / beach where people dig holes to access hot water.

We purchased a powered site here. The facilities here are great. A heated swimming pool is available as well hot pools that are naturally powered heated. As well as 3 minute walk to the Rotura Lake and here you can dig your own hot water pools. They even provide a shovel.

Excellent accommodation for a family. Very clean pools, three geothermal spa and one outdoor. Also an excellent "geothermal hangi oven" which was great for dinner. Convenient location, and also access to the lake shore via a secure gate.

Campervan spots are not very spacious. Pool and hot pools are nice. Toilet and showers are clean. Kitchen is ok. Wi-Fi is unstable (300MB per day for free). Staff is friendly and all kind of stuff can be borrowed from the reception (shovel, gear for the natural steam oven, etc.). From the park it's about 25 min walk to the city centre.

Stayed at Cosy Cottage on a powered campervan site. Great place. The shared kitchen was immaculate. Hot pools an added bonus and shared facilities warm with good showering facilities.

Great place to stay with family. We loved the hot water beach and the hot pool. The swimming pool was a bit to cold, but it’s fall after all. We did not find the time to cook with the hangi - but looked like it would be very tasty.

Good clean place, the pool and hot tubs made it easy to hang around the site. The caravan pitches were all hard standing and a good size. Some difficulties with the entry gate code that didn't work all the time.

Nice staff, cosy and remote camping ground, really quiet and close to the lake. They have a well equipped kitchen and clean bathrooms. You can even spend some time in the thermal baths or the pool. Wifi actually works. We had a very pleasant stay there.

It's a budget campsite with some cabins. All clean, #12 is a very spacious cabin. Near the centre, a 5 mins drive. Walk to the hot water beach but that was full of dog poo. Hot pools & a swimming pool on site. We arrived too early & receptionist on duty was quite rude, to us & to a caravanner who'd already agreed his early arrival. She could have just suggested we go for a wander around city centre, we'd already apologised for being early. Unfortunately that first encounter coloured our view of the place. The cabins are not new but they are clean & have a kitchenette ideal for the budget traveller. Sheets & towels all clean & new. No Aircon but a breeze through the fly screens. Might be too hot in summer but fine in March.

Comfy place and we love cooking in the steam oven

Geothermal wonderland with tent sites right next to a hot stream, hangi cooking spot, bubbling muds, and hots pools for bathing. Good kitchen facilities. Camp sites are a little small, and if the camp ground is fully booked I could see it being tight.

Cleaning - kitchen - 4/5 Cleaning - showers & toilets - 2/5 Customers service - 5/5 Hot pools - 40°C, very small and occupied most of the time In general, old facilities + unclean, but doing the job if you just need a shower and a place to park your campervan.

The parks amenities were clean but so packed. The spaces are so close together clearly designed for maximising profit. Just a crazy amount of people for what was offered. (Kitchen was very crowded in the morning and had little utensils to use) But the hot water beach nearby was nice even though very dirty so bring sandles and buy a toy shovel before going (you can rent one but it may be a bit pricey) They have some sort of barbecue here to cook with thermally I wanted to try it but didn't. So maybe buy some tinfoil and meat and potatoes and check it out

I would highly recommend as a budget accommodation in Rotorua. Cabins (these are actually rooms) are clean and functional. No luxuries but definitely good value for money and hot pools are a nice addition. If you book make sure to get a cabin with the toilet as there are some (basic) that require using shared camping facilities outdoors.

One of the better camping parks we visited. We only stayed for one night but would return. The facilities were very good, we especially liked the hot tubs with local hot mineral waters.

Great stay. Love the hot pools. We went for a walk to the beach you could see the hot parts bubbling away. Not too smelly like what other people were saying.

We used a powered site: easy & fast check-in, all the facilities you use are there and clean. Although everything is already a bit used and not brand new, we felt very comfortable to shower and cook. The price of 38$ is very reasonable.

Stayed two nights in a self contained unit with 3 children, what an awesome spot, the kids loved the playground, beach and pools. We loved the pools and really liked the steam oven. We will definitely come back!!

Got a deal on campermate for $20 pp for an unpowered site. Toilet/shower facilities are unremarkable but clean. The mineral pools are good fun and you're only about 5 mins from the center of Rotorua.

Nice camping with good facilities. It has a free to use steam oven and free hot tubs, which are both using the natural warmth of the Earth. Showers are free, and nice and warm, and everything is clean.

The camp is OK. The private beach is not so nice. Baths and kitchen are good, and clean. The hot pools are plus. I give 4 stars, because I believe the price is expensive for what it is.

Lovely little cabins and amazing hotpools. Was really nice to stop in after traveling all day to jump in the hot pool and then bed.

Whenever in Rotorua we always stay here. Great service lovely staff. Always helpful. The hangi pit makes your dins taste amazing and relaxing in the awesome spring pools is so uphoric. The heat in and around the camp ground is very bizarre, the hot mud pool is always bubbling 😍👍

Loved the thermal pools. Nice and quiet in the camp area. Even have a guests kitchen we didnt need to use it but was good to see it there provided for guests.

Good place and awesome facilities; staff are helpful but have certain protocols about some things which made us feel it was rather commercial and tiny things needed to be paid for. Loved the hot pools and using the steam hangi.

An excellent campground that has its own thermal pools, is located close to the lake and other thermal activity, and also has its own hangi cooker. This was a fantastic location to stay at and I will certainly be going back when I'm in the area again!

This is a very interesting campsite showers and toilets clean, hot water in obundance. Campervan sites well laid out. The really interesting features are the giothermal springs water and mud bubbling everywhere. You can also borrow a shovel and dig a hole by the lake and sit in hot water. Biggest issue is the free internet drops out alot from the sites

The thermal pools are a definite highlight here and they do provide lots of added extras such as ping pong, dvd and shovels for digging our hot pools at nearby thermal beach. However our room was small, bathroom but no shower and walls were paper thin so did not sleep too well.

I have rated Cosy Cottage at 5 stars because what it lacks in glitz and glamour it more than makes it up with their friendly and helpful staff and the clean spa pools and amenities. Close to town and right near the lake. Highly recommended for the budget-conscious traveller

Loved the stay, friendly staff, native birds everywhere. After hours check in. Thermal Hot pools right in the city of Rotorua. Warm units, heated with thermal. you can also cook in the thermal steam box. I tried, pork, cabbage, potato and pumkin. Tasted just like a Maori Hungi. Its under new ownership and management. very nice people

The prices are ok. We stayed on the overflow carpark because everything was booked, but we got a discount. The facilities are all clean and big. Short walk to the lake. Is in the middle of the city.

My partner and I Love Cosy Cottage we are living there till Summer time comes and we love and enjoy living at the Cosy Cottage we recommend to everyone you will enjoy, we have been there for 2 weeks now and plenty to come, close to work and shops too, my partner has a job now thanks for living in Rotorua, thank you :)

Second time we have stayed here - good facilities and great access to lake Rotorua. Private thermal pools and unlimited hot water showers.

i would return. kids loved it. gets real hot in rooms, other than that could use some aesthetic love.

Clean and tidy. No hot water when we turned up due to broken waterpipe, but was fixed that night and provided a bottle of wine for the inconvenience. Good service.

Everything was great, one of the ladies checking us in for the first night was amazing. One of the other nights checking in, the man was pushy, telling me I had to get the powered site for more, even though I didn't need it.

Absolutely adorable spot with great use of the thermal pool. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Cabin was delightful. Would definitely stay again.

Good prices when compared to other holidayparks in the neighbourhood. You can dig a hole on the beach to make your own hot pool, just like Coromandel.

The place is very nice. You can see thermal water! But they gave only 300mb of WiFi and the rest is not included, it's very expensive.

It's a good motel it has public and private spa in it, also they have a steamy kitchen so any visitor could cook by himself it's a chance to try steamy food 😋
