Older X- hotel that has had a transformation. Large rooms .... very clean... full size bath... lovely staff.... note ! that not all rooms have air conditioning. Outside they have a large swimming pool / spa pool and full snack, bar service around the pool area..... just lovely.

Great stay, buffet breakfast was awesome, spa pools were out of order but are fixed now I believe. Staff are wonderful and friendly

My daughter and I had an awesome stay there. We went for a conference, stayed 2 nights. House keeping was excellent. Customer service excellent. Rooms were excellent, however, the fridge was nit stocked with any beverages at all. There was no fan in the bathroom. We ordered room service on last nite of stay, ordered pizza and hot chips. Pizza was delicious but the hot chips, tasted like they were made earlier that dau and they microwaved them up for us. And we couldn't order any beverage (coke) after 10 pm. Which is weird, as there was no kitchen tap for us to get a glass of water.

Great value and awesome service, support NZs hospitality and tourism venues today! Used a voucher and was not disappointed. $269 for two nights with breakfast for two... can't go wrong

By far the best hotel experience I’ve ever had! Customer service was great and made us feel very welcome. Loved the Grotto Spas. Breakfast was amazing, we got upgraded to a suite which was a pleasant surprise! can tell this hotel is quite old but I find it to be unique like a 1990s/2021 vibe! and loved all the detailing in the rooms! Definitely my go to hotel if I’m in Rotorua again.

Most comfy bed EVER! Best nights sleep! Amazing buffet breakfast. Really nice staff. Had room service in the night which wasn't very nice admittedly! Enjoyed the grotto and the pool. No movie channels or sky channels bit disappointed. Otherwise really good, would defeat go back

My favorite in Roto. Kids love it here and the relaxed attitude by the staff. The pool area is quite dated and not actually the cleanest but it's excellent for good family times so I've always overlooked this. Upgrade to a deluxe room as the standards aren't great. Lovely Yakatore restaurant and a relaxing bar area. Good value for money and a firm favorite for us. The little hot spa caves are a hit with families.

Another cafe that has survived. An excellent food selection for its delighted customers who get a warm French welcome on arrival.

Helpful friendly staff. Lovely comfy bed. We stay here as we love the buffet breakfast and big outdoor hotpool. Sadly, the pool was lukewarm/cold this time.Although, kids loved games room it should be open before 3pm as what else are they to do before 3pm.

The Hotel has been a pleasure to stay in. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is quite nice and they have a wide range of cooked and continental variety of meals. The pool size is good too with a child friendly area, the spa pools and grotto pools are quite warm and great for a relaxing time. We stayed here for 4 nights and we had a great time. Will surely recommend staying here if you're visiting Rotorua.

This hotel is a destination hotel for families! Excellent service by reception and the lovely cleaning staff, an amazing buffet breakfast, massive room with incredibly comfortable beds (my family of 4 stayed in a superior family room) and entertainment on tap. We loved the pool, jacuzzi and grotto spa area and found it hard to leave. It isn't a 5 star hotel but good luck finding one of those in Rotovegas. We'll be back!

Very nice. My partner and I had the pleasure of staying here for our honeymoon. Friendly helpful staff, yummy breakfast, amazing pool and Jacuzzis, the bed was soo comfortable and curtains so dark you'll forget what time it is and sleep in 😀 sadly the heatpump wasn't working in our room but we had a wall heater to heat the room regardless. and the TV stations were only normal TV or sports stations... thankfully we had bought our ps4 for our Disney+ and Netflix. and they ran outa Towels first day in on our 2 day stay and we had to use our 2 towels for everything constantly drying each time in our room. Overall a great stay.

Kayla made our stay very pleasant starting with the service at the front desk, very helpful with any questions we had, explained where facilities can be found, this service made us stay another night. Room was clean and comfy and having a balcony was a bonus. Would definitely stay again with my family. Thanks Kayla you made our weekend very relaxing

Typical fancy hotel with peaceful, dark corridors and a lot packed into one room. many outdoor nooks to explore including a big heated pool and spa. Lovely tepenyaki restaurant with reasonable prices. Beds a little hard for our middle aged backs, but an enjoyable experience overall.

Kids loved the pool, and the mango smoothies at the buffet breakfast. Staff were super friendly and helpful. We liked the relaxed vibe, close proximity to the mountain bike trails and super quick drive to the eateries and supermarkets in town. We stayed in the budget style family room which didn’t boast the deluxe style beds so recommend going to the delux twin if you don’t like roll together - staff warned us the room was dated but they were booked out of the other family units. Otherwise the room was great - close to the pool and reception and was serviced daily without request. Grotto spas could do with some fairy lights to glam things up lol, but kids still enjoyed discovering them. Bike storage is very limited but they are happy to accomodate bikes all around the hotel in locked rooms. Would def stay there again.

This hotel always outdoes itself. Having Alex as the GM who’s always about going the extra mile for guests, make the staff equally do the same. Everything you need is in this hotel, from restaurants which serve breakfast to dinner and high tea included, to spa, sauna and pools for kids and adults...you can relax and have a truly relaxing vacation. Parking is not an issue either as there’s heaps of them. My 10-year old swimmer is so drawn to the pool and he loves his NY pizza delivered to our room!!😍Thank you Distinction Hotels and team for being a part of our Easter getaway. One thing though that we would love to see is for the Smart TV to work how it should.😉

For a hotel that boasts of being a 4 star hotel, it disappointing. The phone didn't work so we couldn't order room service, the aircon unit only pumped out hot air, the ceiling fan only had 2 speeds, off & Fast n Furious. The bathroom extractor fan didn't work. But the beds were comfortable. That's all.

Here as part of a conference for a couple of days. Good facilities here to have such an event. The room I stayed in was presented well. Clean and maintained well. Air conditioner on for when I arrived. I have no gripes or complaints whatsoever about the room. The food at the restaurant was good for what I ordered as well as the breakfasts. The 2nd day evening meal was laid on as a buffet and in that there was good variety and the food done superbly and presented well. Hotel and restaurant staff were excellant. Busy, courteous, professional and well presented. I really cannot fault the place and would happily stay here again.

We booked a deluxe twin room for 2 nights and liked this hotel so much we extended our stay another 2 nights. Staff were very accommodating and we managed to stay in same room. The grotto spa and sauna hit the spot for de-stressing, the buffet breakfast set us up for the day, the happy hour in the bar perfect for pre dinner drink and the beds were too comfortable! All staff were friendly. We have stayed in motels and 1 other hotel in Rotorua previously however Distinction Hotel Rotorua is definitely our place to stay on our next break. Simply the best!!

Came here for our 5 year wedding anniversary, such a lovely hotel with great staff, has everything you need on the 1 place. Rooms are beautiful and very clean

Was convenient as needed last minute accommodation due to circumstances beyond our control. Really needs a face-lift as very dated , electrical sockets were loose so was a bit dangerous when unplugging chargers. Don't have food out or you will attract ants.

Awesome Anzac weekend. Good rooms spoilt only by very noisy Aircon, even when ours was off. Nice amenities. Decent breakfast. Just check dishes. Sometimes not properly rinsed.

Kids loved the outdoor heated pool. Staff were amazing & welcoming towards guests. Room was clean & beds were comfy. Great value for money definitely recommend.

Price wise is good，good buffet breakfast. Night shift receptionist not friendly when we asked for an extra towle. She was rude and said"you need to bring it back to the reception". The hotel is not very updated but I would give it a good review, if the staff was more friendly.

I've stayed at a lot of 4 star hotels and this is one of the best ones. The room was lovely clean and beautiful sun coming in the morning. Delicious breakfast and amazing service. Every time we called they always showed professionalism and care. Very good facilities but could do with a makeover. WiFi was poor.

Brief trip down to Rotorua with the family. We stayed 1 night in a standard double (2 queen beds) with our 2 children. Upon arrival we were upgraded to a superior room. All staff were very friendly and helpful. Swimming pool was open, so the kids had fun there. Breakfast (room service) was very good. Good location - slightly out of the main downtown area but close to the thermal explorer walkway. Bike friendly hotel. Will stay again when we're next down.

Spacious room, but uncomfortable bed and mechanical noise (couldn't make the air con quiet and if the person in the next room is having a shower, it's noisy). As a conference location it's excellent. The breakfast was ample with a lot of choice. Plenty of parking.

We were upgraded to a double suite, nice surprise. Loved our stay. There was a pool, spa, restaurant and bar and on Friday night a bbq and beer by the pool. Very kid friendly too. We had breakfast before we left....$25 each which included continental, cooked, bagels pancakes, poached and scrambled eggs sausages bacon tomatoes stewed fruit, yoghurtseveral juices, very nice.

Coming from Auckland, this was our 3rd visit in 12 years. Old school feel hotel: not much changed in the 12 years, but that's why we like it 👍🏼, you get a real key for your room, friendly helpful staff, buffet breakfast in the weekends: enjoyed the lovely hash browns and croissants, big heated pool, sky (cable) tv, grotto style spa pools which is accessible through the gym on ground floor, just watch out for the sulphur build up, open the grotto doors to aerate the spa area first. Hotel is situated very close to main town and lake for activities. Overall a great experience, we will be back again 👍🏼

There are lots of cool things to do here, restaurant, hair salon, swimming pool etc... But, some pretty average things too. Things were quite run down, found a used coke bottle under our bed, the toilet paper was horrible and the shower was interesting... I did find that the staff were very friendly though. 😁 Over all I did enjoy my stay but it was not amazing.

Great customer service, love the vintage look to the hotel. Pool was nice and warm and the private grotto spa pool was relaxing. Next visit we'd come and stay here for sure. Definitely recommend.

After so many years still a good hotel to go to.

Nice hotel with all the things you need. Restaurants were popular with guests and bar area was comfortable and relaxing. Pool area was great and loved the grotto spa. Staff were friendly and helpful. Only down falls were that the toilet was constantly running and the noise from the pipes when water was running.

Great hotel, with some awesome facilities especially the pool and spa area. Beds are comfy with good size rooms. Large bathroom, could use some more lighting as it was quite dark in the shower. Service was very good and really helpful. Overall great value for money.

Service was attentive. We had a couple of issues/requests for our room but they were resolved super quick. Decor is a little dated but needs are otherwise comfortable. A selection of pillows instead of 4 of the same would be nice.

We Stayed from Fri 23rd to Sun 25th April. Staff and the facilities were fantastic. I am highly recommending this hotel. We will definitely be back again.

One of the better hotel out in Rotorua. Love the comfy beds, large toilets and the overall comfy rooms. Their spa and pools are ok. The breakfast is amazing, their mango smoothie is one of the best.

Really enjoyed our stay here. My partner and I with our 2 older grandchildren stayed 2 nights, and my daughter and her youngest stayed one night. We spent the first night catching up at the bar before dinner. They had a room where the children could watch movies, play table tennis etc which the children enjoyed. The bar staff were fabulous as were the staff at reception and Brian, the lovely gentleman who brought our room service to us towards the end of our night. The second night, we enjoyed the buffet dinner and concert they had which was great, and the children really enjoyed participating in the show. Usually if we go to Rotorua we would normally stay in a motel. We have been disappointed with motel stays and decided that after 2 previous nights in a motel, we would try a hotel instead, hence how we ended up at the Distinction. We will definitely be back to Distinction Rotorua, and will never be going to a motel in Rotorua again. The staff were fantastic. The services cannot be faulted. The food was great, the pool was lovely. We all enjoyed our stay immensely.

I like the spa, grotto spa and also got good restaurants. We stayed at the Deluxe Room, bit dated but clean enough. Pool is 27c, would be nice if it's a lot warmer.

Our second time back here. Room was clean. Good facilities. Easy parking. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice and warm on a cold and wet day. Quick and easy check in. Beds are comfy and bathroom has a great sized shower. Kids enjoying the free WiFi and I'm enjoying the free tea and hot chocolate. Great price and easy to book. We will be back again

If it wasn't such a dated hotel I'd give it a 4 star. It has character though. If you're after something modern it's probably not the place to come however in saying that all the accommodation looks the same in Rotorua. The rooms have no air-conditioning but they have fans available. We're here in December and the weather is cool so I cant complain. 30degree weather would be an issue though. Staff are friendly and the room maintenance manager Danny was very accommodating and rectified the cleanliness issues immediately and confirmed it was below their standards. We are currently in their suite which is nice with a separate sitting area and mini bar area. Very spacious. Overall I'd recommend this room. Location is great and close to everything you need.

Very nice Hotel staff where friendly and helpful. The Grotto was a surprise and welcome break. Well worth a trip and a stay also very close to town but a relaxed environment with plenty of parking.

Wonderful service & facilities all throughout the hotel, loved our room however it was quite hot and stuffy. The breakfast buffet was spectacular, and so were all of the other facilities. One of our favourite experiences was definitely the pool, it was a fan favourite amongst us all and we stayed in it for almost two hours! Overall it's a fantastic place, and I would come again soon in the blink of an eye. Thanks for your fantastic service, I hope to see you again soon Distinction!!

Great experience and perfect for kids. The play room next to the bar was a hit and allowed mum and dad to have a quiet drink while the kids watched a movie. The bar staff were extremely helpful and friendly and food top notch

It might be a bit old but the place was very clean and tidy The staff ( all of them ) were friendly and helpful The restaurant was great. They made a meal for me that was not on the menu and it was very tasty 😋 The breakfast had a very good selection The location was also good

My husband and two granddaughters (2 & 4yrs old) stayed one night (27/9/2019). Our stay was exceptional from the time we arrived. All staff we encountered were amazing! Friendly, helpful, supportive and gracious. Our room was perfect! Gourmet brekky was beautiful. To the Manager: we requested another night but told it was fully booked - No surprises there! Our only disappointment: we didnt book 2 nights. We do intend to return and for longer. We highly recommend to others. Please relay our warmest thanks to ALL your staff for making great memories for us.

Arrived here without a booking around 5pm looking for somewhere decent to stay after our original accommodation wasn't up to standard so we got a refund and tried Distinction instead. We got a decent sized suite for a similar price to the pokey room we had booked elsewhere. The bed was nice and comfy with a few different pillows to choose from. The bathroom could be updated. No decent lighting in the shower, the shower head was rather low which my tall partner had an issue with and could be better ventilated as there are no windows in the bathroom. There was no air con anywhere, just a ceiling fan in the bedroom... Maybe a free standing fan left in the room for guests to use would of been a nice touch?? It might not of been the 5 star experience we were looking for however after already experiencing a horrible Hotel room elsewhere we were pleasantly surprised with what Distinction had to offer and would stay again!

Jan 2021 We booked with Distinction the second time round as first experience was awesome. We had some plumbing issues in our room that needed to be looked into, Richard and staff were so attentive and gave us the option of staying in another not room but the Presidential Suite which we happily accepted! The Suite was very clean and spacious the beds were so comfy! Last time we were here Jan 2019 the main pool was geothermally heated almost as hot as the spa which wasn't really ideal to swim in the scorching hot sun but this time it was lovely and cool not too cold but just right, if we felt abit cold we would jump in the outdoor jacuzzi or relax in the private grotto spas and go between the pools, was fun for the whole family! Breakfast was again great. But no Hollandaise sauce this time for the eggs bene? Still enjoyed the eggs cooked just the way I like! Thanks Distinction for a lovely stay look forward to staying with you again in future Review Jan 2019.... We had a lovely stay here.. Friendly staff.. Buffet breakfast the best,(loved the eggs bene) our kids enjoyed the pool keep in mind though it is geothermal which I guess is better enjoyed in the colder months but we Still managed to cool down with the nice cool NZ breeze. Our room was clean and loved the fragrance.

Lovely hotel and very reasonably priced. The pool was great for the kids. We disn't check out the children's games room that I think runs in the holidays but I have heard it is good. The beds very comfortable. Great storage for your bike.

We had our wedding function on the weekend at Distinction Rotorua hotel with our whanau. Special thanks to Hannah our wedding planner. What a fantastic job you did. Tara who ensured there were plenty of refreshments for our guests and to all the other staff. You all went that extra mile to ensure all our guests were looked after from checking in to departure. The buffet breakfast was the ultimate. Anyone wanting to plan any events contact the hotel. You will be over whelmed by the 5 star treatment and excellent orgaisation from the team. We have just had our first post lockdown getaway and stayed at the Distiction Htl with our two kids. We were quite simply blown away by the value for money. From the room to the excellent breakfast included in our package. The heated pool was a hit too. Thank you, we'll be back for sure.

Great from start to finish. Staff are friendly and helpful. Room was nice and quiet, recently refitted and very comfortable. Outdoor hot pool was ideal for the family on a chilly weekend and the breakfast was by far the best hotel breakfast I’ve had in Rotorua!

Family friendly,relaxed grand old lady. My daughter said she felt like a princess staying here. Rooms were clean but not huge. Some areas are showing their age but its not a deal breaker for us. Since COVID the tv channels have scaled back so bring an ipad if you like movies for the kids. Lots of parking in adjacent parking area. If you are temperature sensitive, go for the delux rooms because the others can get quite warm. I bought my daughter here Pre COVID and we spent a lot of time in the pool but this time it was too cold which was a bit disappointing because the pool was the drawcard. Would recommend this hotel but dont count on the heated pool being too warm.

The room amenities did not seem as high class as my previous visits. Found that some of the front of house staff rude. I think the amazing part of the hotel is the executive lounge. Loved the reception staff. We loved the breakfast. Large spacious room. Dark carpets tend to hide the dingy stuff.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The room is clean and updated. It is also warm despite the frosty temperature outside. It's far from the town centre, so having your own car would be a good idea if you wish to book here.

I slept like a dream and ate like a king. This is a fantastic hotel with an excellent choice of meals throughout the day. Breakfast room is amazing, the cafe has excellent food and the dining experience was wonderful. The evening bar, beautiful heated swimming pool and great staff have made our stay a most pleasant one. We celebrated my aunts 70th birthday at Distinction Hotel in Rotorua. We hire one of their function rooms Rimu/Tawa Room. We have had a great experience at this hotel, the staff was very accommodating - right from the very beginning - asking for a quote for a function room, meals, and other services. They have given us the best services - it was superb. All our guests young and old were so pleased with the quality and taste of the food. Thumbs up to the Chef, whoever the Chef is at this hotel. Your cooking and food preparation was superb. Thumbs up to you Chef and your staff. There was a variety of food from cold cuts, salads, mains, desserts. You even provided us a list of your meals that is free from dairy, egg, nuts etc. Everyone was pleased, and not just that the price per person was affordable. All our requests were provided even to the last minute - all their staff went the extra mile to help us in making the function room, elegant and well presented. The hotel Assistant Manager oversees the event and was very approachable, ensuring that we are well looked after. The same with Conference Coordinator. Thank you for your friendly services. Both of you are awesome making sure your clients are well looked after. Overall, we are giving Distinction Hotel Rotorua a BIG FIVE STAR for the services, the venue, the food, and above all the staff. The perfect services of the staff were the key to a successful event, no matter what the size is. Again, thank you.

Nice place. Awesome buffet breakfast. Room was clean and tidy but small. Gym is not really a gym, half the equipment is broken, pool is nice. No air con. Staff were amazing. Would go back to stay again.

Amazing place! Such a good team lead by the awesome management that are so accommodating. This Hotel has everything you could want as a Family, tourist or business traveller. The best in the Rotorua. ❤️

I stayed here once last year. The location is perfect & the food served in the hotel restaurant is amazing. The only gripe I had was that the elevator was out of commission during my entire stay. The room key could use some upgrades to keycard as they still uses traditional keys. I would be happy to stay here again next time I visit Rotorua.

Excellent customer service, Jane the duty manager was very accommodating. Room was comfortable and cozy. Swimming Pool and spa is clean, water is nice and warm. Relaxing environment with amenities that cater to the needs of the guests. Mr Yakitori, the japanese restaurant serve good foods and reasonable price. Will definitely come back and bring my family.😘🤩😍

Friendly staff who were very accommodating. Food at conference was amazing. Extremely comfortable bed in room 243 however two room issues that influenced the room experience at Distinction Rotorua related to no sound on some of the TV chanels and no spare toilet rolls. When I raised these matters staff were responsive. ☺

Great room with balcony. Long walk to town though. Loved the yakitori restaurant and breakfast was very good too.

Love the hotel, super comfortable rooms and the beds are perfect for a great sleep. My only wish is that they had sky channels in the rooms.

The corner suite is spacious and well laid out. Water pressure and service are good. Beds are very comfortable. The outdoor spa and heated pools need a good clean; there is some fair algae growth. The hotel is a short walk from the Mauri Thermal Village thermal attraction

Nice hotel very comfortable. Facilities as one would expect. Outdoor pools are heated from the volcanic springs some nice and warm. Put on a nice Maori show to demonstrate local culture. This hotel is quite some way from the town centre and has NO complimentary bus!

I went here for a work conference and i cant say enough about the staff and service. Friendly and accommodating, even when we changed plans and details at the last minute. The rooms were lovely and all of us enjoyed our stay.

Great place to stay. The rooms are lovely and clean. The pizza from Pavilion is delicious. The pool and spa is lovely and warm.

Family friendly with good food. Our two (8 and 10). Jacuzzi was a good temperature, the main pool was a bit cool for October but kids didn't mind!

Clean rooms with a unique period feel to the building. Large heated pool out the back. Very unique Grotto spas and sauna "underground" near the outdoor pool (head back towards the building). Good location for mountain biking, with a massive trail park near by, although concierge can only organise storage of your bikes, not hire.

There for a meeting. We'll set out. Plenty of Microphones to be heard in meeting. Refreshments were Beautifully displayed and plentiful. Always a pleasure coming here.

Very clean and friendly staff . Room service was quick and hassle free. Only one thing to moan about that's the fact that they have no cooling system at all no air con and no fans . It was so hot in the rooms it was unbearable. But apart from that couldn't fault it.

The building is old, but nicely designed. But the property could be better maintained. - the bathroom fixtures are old & is at the end of its life (the toilet water kept on running even after it had been flushed. takes several tried before it stops running/ making an annoying trickling sound) - there are cob webs on the asbestos ceiling. - there was dust on the curtains that needs cleaning. - there was dust settlement on the cuboards where the glasses were. didn't seem to have been wiped in over a week perhaps. - no amenities. no tooth brushes, combs, hair nets, slippers or bathrobes. - small things, like the setting of toilet paper once the old guest had left and gone had not been done.

Nice and comfortable, great staff clean tidy good value excellent dinner. Will stay again. Stayed 2 nights

Great place to stay, for the time I spent there although I did not stay long. I attended a conference at the hotel and it is a great venue. The waiters were all very friendly & respectful. It is located about 3 streets over from Te Puia and within walking distance.

Excellent stay at Distinction Rotorua. Good facilities, excellent buffet breakfast. Staff all very pleasant, friendly. Will definitely be our "stay" of choice when in Rotorua

Way overpriced for what you got. The location of the hotel is absolutely second to none. Could not log onto the smart TV. Very near to see the geysers in nearby attraction. Staff were so helpful. Staff is there to help you to enjoy as much as possible during your stay.

Older motel complex. Needs a wee bit of maintenance / upgrade but clean with good beds. Staff in the convention area & restaurant very good

Leaving a Kobo behind didnt make me happy BUT was found and sorted out within 12 hours. Loved the facilities and the fact my family could come visit and use the facilities. The staff at the hotel were extremely pleasant. Your advertisement offered breakfast but the hotel denied that privilege.

Great customer service. Made sure we were all settled and happy with our room. Still have to try the pool. Enjoyed our meal and drinks in the Pavilion

We stayed here as a part of a large group. The design of the hotel is quite cool. The lady was really helpful to send a guy to check. Any questions we had were answered in a very pleasant ***ner. I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel to friends.

Stayed in Deluxe Room Very comfortable bed ... some loud music by the pool but stopped at reasonable hour. Check in/out ok.

First impression front desk receptionist (only 1) unwelcoming, cold and burnt out. The hotel cleaning staff more friendly, helpful and attentive. Rooms were tidy and clean, noise levels in room with trucks on main route loud

Good value for money when I got my room. Nothing exceptional, nice tidy room and 24 room service is a bonus. Over 2km from cbf so one of the further away hotels if you want to be short walking distance to town.

In general the accommodation was tidy and the breakfast buffet exceeded my expectations, it would have been a much higher rate if not for our dining experience at the pavilion restaurant on Saturday night, when we arrived there were only three tables which were seated and when we were waiting there was only one still going. My younger one made bit noise so I took him out so that he won't disturb the other table, they got a young one as well and pretty quiet. Just as I walked out carrying my son I heard this Polynesian or Indian manager guy spoke to my daughter and her dad who was still waiting for his meal after about at least ten fifteen minutes, to keep our kids quiet. He said he was sure my partner could understand, then said sorry to my daughter, during the long wait for the meal, which was around twenty minutes, I spent most if the time outside with my son to separate the two children so they won't make noise playing together. We have always been cautious of this and it seemed strange this person assumed manager's role jumped in so quickly and told us off. While waiting for the meal to be served, I asked the blond waitress lady where the toilet was, I thought it might be next to our table where got a sliding door, she said go outside turn left then as I thanked her and just turned my back, she slammed the door behind me loud and shut it. It was a real weird spot in such a nice hotel setting and they really made sure we will avoid dining there next time when we visit again.

All areas of the hotel were very clean. The staff were friendly and very helpful at all times. I was so happy with the location of this hotel. Safe hotel and I noticed security and front reception staff locked up and security staff did foot ****ls all over after hours.

Japanese Style Restaurant with good prices. These are mistakes that can happen and I would not have minded at all had the staff been friendly and helpful but they most certainly were not. Staff offered service BEFORE being asked. Love the organization of the furniture of high quality in suite.

My first option for staying in Rotorua from when it was the Sheraton. Although the building has aged the new brand still have great service and friendly helpful staff for a resonable price. Looking forward to the cave spas opening again.

Immacutely kept yester-year hotel. Lovely friendly service and all amenities with a bit of old fashioned granduer. 4 stars can only be due to the fact that there is no air conditioning in the rooms.

Have been using this hotel for about 5 years for our regular Rotorua mtb bike trips 2 - 3 x a year. Staff fantastic, helpfull and accomodate muddy mtb bikers with grace. Child friendly. Lovely pool and spas. Gardens well maintained. Great breakfast. Some rooms can be a bit musty but its Rotorua after all. Older rooms roomier, refurbished rooms smaller but very nice. Quieter end of town which suits us. Going back again shortly.

We got upgraded to a suit and the room is amazing. The best part is its hot pool and sauna. No need to go to the spa, just relax all day in the pool.
