Located just out of town, but good for exploring everything that Rotorua has to offer, the New Castle motel offers really large clean rooms that are well equipped for eating 'at home.' Big bathroom with spa tub and shower over. Bench outside to sit on and catch the rays in the afternoon. Only downside is that the rooms aren't particularly sound proof so it's possible to here even people talking in the next room, taps and toilets are also easily heard. Not good if you're a light sleeper. WiFi is fast and reliable, can't comment on the TV as we didn't use it. Enough parking for the number of rooms and check in was super quick and the staff were pleasant and helpful. I think the rooms on the ground floor would be suitable for wheel chair uses as they are spacious. Overall, very good.

Spacious rooms and parking space. 3 mints by car to downtown but no problem if u have a car. Helpful staff. Quiet at night, birds singing all day in the trees. Rooms have all the things u need - iron, fans, heater, hairdryer, kitchenette, tables... Value for price.

We stayed here in the weekend in rooms 201 & 202 inter connecting rooms. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable and lots of room for the kids and some extra guest's that we had that ended up staying ( fair price for extra people also) teenage kids loved wifi which is a must apparently. Close to everything and bowling right next door. Nice and quiet here, safe area. Would definitely be coming back here again. Host were lovely and accommodating.

We discovered this one online and after reading Trip Advisor reviews. This place is a little gem. Definitely one that we will be coming back to for our future stays. Owners are friendly and accommodating. It is at the end of town though if you have a vehicle it is only minutes from everywhere. You can walk to town if you chose to do that and all the supermarkets are close by. Directly across the road is a rose garden and park for the little ones (and big ones). Next door you will find an indoor bowling and entertainment centre. There is also a take away store not far away. Recommend visiting Redwoods which is about 5 mins drive away and also the lakes that are part of Lake Tarawera. We stayed in room 103. This unit had a little kitchenette. Cooking utensils provided as is dish washing liquid. You will need oil, salt and things like that. Bathroom in this room had a very relaxing spa bath. The unit is very spacious and comfortable with some tasteful decor. The wifi is very fast and reliable and the television has many channels to chose from. Nice little deck area with timber table and chairs to relax on with a cuppa after being out exploring the local sights. A nice touch was the different decorative lights at night. Our little one loved this! The area is quiet and seems relatively safe to walk around. As I mentioned, we will definitely be staying at this place again. Thank you for a pleasant, relaxing stay.

Big rooms. Has Spa pool inside the rooms which operate between 8am - 10pm. Rooms are thin walled so you can hear your neighbors sometimes. It's also closer to highway but no traffic noise.

Stayed here for 4 nights, kids loved it. A lot of room, if i was going back to Rotorua this will be my families spot again, i would recommend this to any family,, Great that we could cook our own meals and the spa bath was my kids fav :) , owners were really nice too, thanks New castle Motor lodge for great service.

Absolutely loved the place. Very spacious and clean. If I could give more than 5 stars it would get a 7. Will definitely stay here again if I come back to Rotorua

This motel was very clean,comfortable,good heating, Perhaps only lacks movie channels but definitely stay here again.loved the garden lights,very pretty

Pros: Close to the Redwood Treewalk, has all the items needes for basic cooking. Cons: No AC, far from city center, cleaning and maintenance could be better.
