A.i just visited today, very spacious with 2 bedrooms on two levels. bathroom downstairs, kitchen lounge and a 2nd toilet upstairs. when you enter the main office you are smacked with the aroma of spices. when you opened the motel room the was a musty smell, tge fridge did not work and the glass cook top was thick with filth. The laundry cost $4 per load and you need to ask the proprietors to allow you in and then they cone tell you when it is done. Realistically this motel looks to be only taking emergency housing and it shows by the lack of love in the room
F.Getting a little run down but its proximity to the Pohutu Geyser is a big plus.
Reception staff friendly and helpful.
Very very hot upstairs in the rooms and no screens or thin curtains meant window was not able to be opened at night to take advantage of cool night air.
Bar fridge rather than a full sized refrigerator means you cannot bring back anything that needs a freezer. Lamps in main bedroom did not work and extra bed is the sofa being reclined back and bedding given to make it up yourself. No laundry facilities other than main lodge laundry requiring payment.
D.Very friendly accommodating staff. Only downfall was some maintenance needed (power point in bathroom not working). We had 4 adults but there was some utensils/cutlery missing so we had to improvise. Very quiet motel and well worth the money.
L.This was the most comfortable bed I slept in, in New Zealand. Great location walking distance from te puia grounds. And a short drive to the the redwoods. Staff were very friendly. Rooms were large and clean. Only downside is no air-conditioning and no big screens on the windows.
F.Great property. We stayed a week travelling South and back each day. This was an excellent location. The soft furnishings were as good as you'd expect in any motel - fresh, clean, modern. The Kitchenette's had all the basic's you'd need for cooking meals. The bathrooms were clean, and the showers hot with good pressure. Good offstreet parking. I'd recommend staying again.
L.Very friendly welcome from the team! The rooms are huge self-catering units - very clean & well stocked if you don't want to go into town for your meals. We especially loved the free view of Pohutu out the back garden & free parking. Word of advice, this lovely motel is just off a very busy road, so don't expect a long lie-in in the morning.
E.Cheap accommodation, no ac. Internet too poor to stream anything, even at 140p, however good enough to check emails. Facilities are clean and the staff are friendly. You can see neighbouring geysers from behind the motel.
D.I always stay here. The location is very good, near the Te Puia Geysers and the amenities and rooms are good for the price. If you don’t want to spend much and stay somewhere clean and comfortable this is the place.
The bad things is that the toilets are a bit small and during summer the second floor gets very hot. Luckily they provide a fan.
Also, the rooftop is ideal for to have some drinks during the afternoon, great view.
C.Great customer service. The room was much bigger than expected. A very comfortable stay. My only issue was that the stairs were too steep and narrow, however the great stay and friendly, helpful staff made up for that.
N.We stayed at this place last weekend, it was worth the price. Nice and clean, close to shops , very friendly staff. The reserve at the back of the Lodge was great, we were able to see the famous geyser and also my kids played around in it. Also thanks to the staff for accepting our request for two hours early check in😃
S.Clean with nice furnishings. Very handy to bike trails, we loved being able to hit the trails within 5 min of biking from the motel. Carpark, kitchen and upstairs toilet were rather compact. Road noise not significant, but our room shook a bit when big trucks went past on the main road. Views over thermal area.
C.This place is currently not a mainstream motel it is being used as emergency housing and has a lot of interesting tenant from various backgrounds. This is a seriously awesome place catering to homelessness families and singles.....awesome people
M.It was a really nice place to stay and a perfect accommodation for a family with 2 kids. We have been given nice recommendations for activities in the area. Rooms have plenty of space and are clean and nicely decorated. We hope to stay loger next time.
S.Comfortable beds. Efficient friendly staff who allowed early check-in at 11.30am on the day we arrived! Easy walk to convenience store, Te Puia and Pohutu Geyser. There is no air-conditioning so the unit got very hot in summer! Two pedestal fans provided (for a family of 4).
S.The room itself is fine. Not fancy but very clean. Parking is slightly cramped and only one parking space per room. WiFi is a bit annoying. Overall a good place- I would stay here again.
K.What a lovely wee Motel - everything you need - clean and tidy -spacious - they let us check in early and we didn’t even ask - great service - cooking facilities - so glad we found this - great value for money :-) Can see the guysers from the hill just out of the gate. J.This motel is OK for overnight stays but its not a nice place to stay for a long time and since it is far away from the lake, it not as ideal for people that don't want to have to drive everywhere. No bathroom have locks on them and is are also quite basic and slightly run down. Overall it is an OK motel for a short stay.
A.Great motel and excellent value. Stayed in 2 bed studio apartment which had 1 Queen room with ensuite up stairs with kitchen lounge and 1 Queen and single down stairs. Everything you need plus helpful friendly staff.
D.Had such a great night with my granddaughter. Room was perfect...staff helpful and easy to book in. Thankyou for looking after us we enjoyed it so much. We will be back ;)
V.It's nice motel with comfortable room. Close to the center of Rotorua (5 mn by car) and few meters from Te Puia with the geyser.
The owner gave us good advice for the trip.
A.Super comfortable and well priced. Best of all was the location and convenience to Whakarewarewa Thermal Village and also Redwoods mountain biking. Very happy with customer service too.
