Stayed here a couple weeks ago and loved it! Rough around the edges When you drive in but such a gem. We stayed in the deluxe room which was lovely, quiet, clean, modern and comfortable. Super friendly and helpful staff. Great communication. Great location, accessible to everything, close to luge and city centre. Would definitely stay here again.

This is a motel not a lodge and it should be classed as one. The service is great and the rooms are spacious and clean. Free wifi good water pressure and alpaca's and chickens to feed. They have recycling which is a bonus as well as a worm farm for your food scraps. The alpaca's love apples so bring along some fruit to feed them the children will love it. Thee is a playground for the children and a place to relax or have a picnic.

Very nice, modern room with decent tv and cooking facilities. Close to luge etc. lots of parking. The guy at reception had good local knowledge and gave us some really helpful advice - including what to do with the half day we had left before our flight after checking out.

Stayed in a family spa room within the new block with 2 adults and 2 kids after Xmas. Absolutely loved it! Clean room with double glazed windows and door, good sound proofing, sliding door opens up to big yard with lots of farm animals and play ground. Friendly manager and staff, kids wouldn't want to leave at the end of our 3 nights stay. Very close to Countdown, Skyline Gondola and probably 5mins drive to CBD. I could not recommend this place enough , will definitely return.

Very clean, and the staff are very friendly. If you like animals this place is great - Miss Chicken came right into our living room to ask for some food 😋 The alpacas are cute, and there are two little lambs at the time of our stay. If you have kids, there's a great playground for them to have fun on. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back here.

This place was an incredible to stay at! The owner is amazing and friendly! There room was spacious and had plenty to offer. Plus there's an awesome playground for children aswell as farm animals! Truly felt like a hidden getaway while still being close to town. Would recommend to anyone!

Excellent, very pleased. Room is really nice, well implemented, roomy, and the cleanest I've stayed at for a long time. There is a great playground and some animals which is nice and only minutes from Rotorua. Phil was so helpful and really went the extra mile for me. Highly recommended 😊

Stayed here with my partner. Staff were welcoming, and very kind. Our room was clean and was overall impressed. Good water pressure and overall a great stay. Defiantly coming back again.

Loved this place. A nice peaceful spot and a short drive to town. Our 7 year old loved feeding the lambs and the playground. Very modern clean units & 10 minute walk to gondola

Don't know a lot about this place sorry, as just popped in as the grandies & parents were staying for a couple of days. Unit was nice & clean & Close to all amenities.

Absolutely loved our stay, beautiful rooms that we couldn't fault. Very comfortable and everything had been thought of. Friendly service and would definitely stay again. The playground was great also.

We had such a nice time here! Our deluxe family room was absolutely lovely, brand new clean and tidy. Nice and quiet away from busy traffic. Cool little playground for the kids and the hosts Heng and Irene were very very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be coming back here again 🙂🙂🙂👌👌👌

Simply great! We booked the one room apartment and it was way better than we anticipated. Spacious, spotless and fully equipped. They even have a small fully fenced grass area, a lifesaver when your furry friend needs to go toilet late at night. It will be our go to place for our trips to Rotorua.

Best accomodation by far - We stayed in the modern Deluxe family room, very well equipped with SPA bath and high speed internet access, USB ports, smart TV. We didn’t need the use of kitchenette (fully stocked with cooking utensils). I love the location, closer to Skyline, Velocity Valley, and shops (Countdown, eateries, laundromat, petrol stations) about a 5-8 min drive from city centre. Will definitely stay there again in the future ❤️❤️

Nice clean tidy rooms at a good price. Lovely little ground, plenty of room for parking. Very quiet, lovely Alpacas and hens. Very accommodating hosts. We had a great stay, we will be back. Thankyou.

Nice pet friendly place a few minutes away from the gondola and luge. We stayed in the studio unit. It was clean, has a very comfortable bed, and a good pressure shower. The decor is a little tired. Would recommend if you travel with a pet and are on a budget.

The unit was lovely & clean & tidy & warm. Rooms were great as was the bathroom. Shower was lovely with tons of pressure. Just wish there were more soap & shampoo as there were 4 adults & only enough for 2 - but not a deal breaker. Would definitely stay there again plus the fact that it is pet friendly so can take our dog. The hosts were really lovely.

A very nice place for kids. While we used the community barbeque grill the kids explored the very creative playground and watched the chickens and alpacas. The price is reasonable and rooms are clean. Recommended for families, not luxury.

Lovely place to stay. Clean and tidy

We stayed for 8 nights and honestly couldn't fault this accommodation one bit. If you are travelling with kids you must stay here. There are chickens and alpacas to feed and a fabulous fenced in playground with trampoline for the kids to burn off energy and play. The rooms are comfortable and warm. This accommodation is very close to town, but far enough out that you really do feel like you are hidden away. We felt so welcomed and cared for by our hosts who were so friendly and always had our stay and comfort at the forefront, they really did make us feel like we were at our home away from home. We loved all the activities in Rotorua and this accommodation was so close to so many of the best activities. Mum's, if your reading this, don't read any further, book Rotorua Hideaway Lodge now!

Great park outside for the kids, nice rooms and decent shower and facilities, and important for us, dog friendly. Only downside is turning right into the motel as you're stopping on the chevrons.

We spent one night here on our way through Rotorua. The room was basic, but nicely made up and good value. There was a playground for small kids and the lawn had several fruit trees (including some ripe plums). It was situated a little out of town off the main road - fine if you have a car, but it wouldn't be a nice walk into town. Owner was friendly and courteous.

Outstanding. Warm clean comfortable rooms. Ample parking. Fantastic to have the availability of Netflix . Beautiful grounds and scenery and good playground. Animals to visit and fun statues/art dotted around the grounds. Great price for accommodation. Numerous very welcome heaters. Awesome cosy false glowing fireplace - really liked it. Great place that was very friendly to my dog. Great space for her to sleep with us at night. Really loved our stay. Already planning and looking forward to our guaranteed next visit. Clean but somewhat uncomfortable at times. The entire suite was only 11 degrees when we arrived, and it took us a few hours to get it warmed up. We had to rush to make the 8:30 check-in cutoff. Also, had to take two cold showers because all the hot water was used up. Otherwise, a great place. Loved the kids play area and convenient location. Easy to cook within the suite, as some ingredients are present.

Excellent value for money stay on outskirts of Rotorua. Pet friendly was bonus for us having two dogs. Unit was spacious and well equipped if a little basic. Beds very comfortable and quiet location. Hosts very friendly and helpful. Will stay again

Not like your usual motels. There it's nice and open space in the front. The host is very polite, as people, they could not do any more for a guest, top marks on customer service. The place however is getting tired. They try to maintain it, but the age is catching up. For the price it's still reasonable, and would recommend.

An incredible place to stay. Playground for all ages and there are animals. The rooms are simple and neat. Perfect for a family get away.

The location is awesome as we are finding somewhere that we can relax. The breakfast room had nice choices and the rooms were very comfortable. The children were given the opportunity to feed the large array of farm animals in the evening including chickens, alpacas, ponies, sheep and dogs.

Really enjoyed this quaint little place. The owners are so friendly. They gave us some farm eggs for breakfast. Yum! The room was huge and had a kitchen. Laundry is available on site. Do it yourself type. Parking is free. So nice and peaceful.

We stayed over from 05/06/18 ~ 09/06/18 and what a Jewel in "ROTORUA". This Beautiful place was an absolute lovely, peaceful, quiet and stunning Motel for our short holiday in "Rotorua". Everything was clean, comfortable and more than enough amenities. Management and staff was extremely friendly, helpful and great service with a smile every time. Room very spacious and warm and the price very reasonable. Beautiful sights all around. I recommend "The Hideaway Motel " with confidence to anybody with pets and needing a place to relax and rest in comfort, peace and yet easy on your holiday budget.

Travelled for a Sunday wedding and found the location was near the wedding venue. Certainly missed my beautiful surroundings when I had to come back to my ""real life"" in Auckland. The unit was clean and self contained. For what we paid Our 2Bdm Unit was extremely good value. Recommended to all.

Friendly helpful owners great location away from the sulphur smells. We normally stay in the motels in the heart of the city centre ***** Fenton street. For the price and what we got it was great. The Hideaway has new owners who plan on keeping a fun and unusual feel of this unique hotel.

The units are not modern but have a nz charm that brings back memories from my childhood holidays in nz. Road noise was at a minimum and there is no trace of the sulfurous smell that rot***a is famous for. The ""carbbq"" is a hot thrill and rooms clean and tidy. Very good value for money.

Place is a wee gem for young families and we were lucky enough to be able to have our dog with us in the unit as this is a pet freindly motel. Very close to shops for supplies and tourist attractions. The location is only a short 5min drive to the city centre.

Considering the price, this place is a great motel. Rooms were clean, bathrooms were spacious, owners were very nice. However, the location is a bit out of the way.

Stayed for 2 nights as passing through Rotorua. Staff friendly with eggs given to me from chickens!! Farm like in rural quiet, exactly what I needed to recharge from busy schedule. Will stay here again!!

Absolutely fantastic place to stay. Away from the hustle and bustle and the smells of Rotorua and yet only a few kilometers from town. Beautifully appointed units overlooking the Alpacas in the paddocks . Fabulous children's playground . Kerry and Phill are wonderful host . We enjoyed the calming serenity of the place we stayed an extra day as did not want to leave. Can highly recommend and will definitely go back. So pleased we choose to stay here
