Absolutely not what I expected from a Hilton Hotel. It was nice but not outstanding. The reception staff were friendly but two of the three breakfast staff were abrupt and rude and failed to let me know they had run out of filter coffee as I sat and waited for my coffee. Then a young waitress by the name of Esther managed to find some filter coffee. Esther was super friendly and epitomised what excellent customer service was. She smiled and she was helpful. Our room was the Relaxation Suite. It was a great size and had an awesome view and a balcony and that is where the niceness ended. The furniture was dated and chipped. The shelf under the vanity was swollen from water and the bathtub had two big yellow stains. The room was dated. And each morning around 7am the restaurant below would start preparing for the day and it was noisy with trolleys and bottles being thrown out. Didn't get to sleep in. The bar staff were polite and very helpful with drink selections. Overall the stay was nice but I didn't feel it was worth almost $300 per night. There are plenty of other hotels in Taupo that cost less and the rooms are as nice if not nicer.
E.
Pleasantly surprised. Amazing rooms, lovely staff and great views over the lake. I stayed in the one bedroom apartment for 2 nights. I dont have a single complaint. Beds are comfy, super clean and spacious room with large balcony. Facilities such as pool and gym are great, modern and clean. Highly recommend, I come to Taupo monthly and will no doubt only stay here from now on!

In these crazy pandemic times it would be easy to expect less in service but this was not the case during our visit. The staff were brilliant & enhanced the visit. The quality of food in the restaurant & in room dining was excellent & the service matched as well.
It is always the people that make the difference & I am very pleased to thank 2 staff in particular
Paratha in the restaurant / bar is amazing. He is so efficient & enthusiastic & carries out his duties with enthusiasm.
Mary Jean in reception took ownership of a problem & sorted it out.
People make a stay memorable

We stayed in Hilton Taupo for 2 nights on 3 Jan 2022 to 5 Jan 2022. We understood this is a very busy time of the year...
- Before our stay - I received an email saying that I could download the Hilton App and join Hilton Honors to enjoy a fast and smooth check in via the app - so I did that.
- Upon arrival at the hotel, 3pm on 3 Jan 2022 - I was told by the hotel staff that it make no difference whether I have checked in on the app, I still need to line up (which is fine), I have lined up for 20 minutes and the reception staff told me the room isn't ready yet and ask me to wait in the lobby for a few minutes. The room was not ready until 4pm.
- At night, around 11pm, I needed some assistance with the room and I tried to call the front desk and the house keeping for at least 20 minutes and no one answered the phone.
-The next day, we tried to call the restaurant to make a reservation and no one answered the phone either!
We have almost given up and think it's more like serviced apartment more than a hotel...
However, when we checked out, the staff on duty this morning asked us how was our stay and really showed concern to some of the issues that we have experienced... finally we received some service at this hotel ......... A really big thumbs up for the counter staff on the morning of 5 Jan 2022.
It's really a shame because we really loved the facilities offered and the rooms were nice and clean, the service definitely is not up to scratch with the property. We have stayed in Hilton in other parties of the world including the Double Tree brand (have always enjoyed the warm cookies...) and have high expectations with this trip.

Very friendly staff and so helpful. Great warm pool to relax after a long day our. Nice lake views with great sunsets. Room very nice, modern and tidy. Great to see old and new hotel next to each other. Nice to see great old wooden floors in the old hotel. Nice restaurant. Thanks for excellent time. We will be back again.
M.
We had a lovely evening at your beautiful hotel. All the staff at the hotel were friendly and Laura who assisted with our check in was exceptionally helpful and accommodating and made us feel so welcome. We enjoyed a wonderful time at the pool and the facilities are clean and well kept. Our room was beautiful and clean and we had a good nights rest. We ended our lovely stay with a wonderful breakfast. We will definitely come back.
C.
Bit disappointed in the Std it has dropped a bit since last time we were their. Dirty black marks on Restroom doors and handbasin faucet soso. Cleaners use to much spray n wipe nowadays. Balcony rail hadn't been cleaned down in years. This is in the Terraces older rooms we like staying in. Food was great as usual and top service 👍very loud music down stairs all night Sat.
S.
Staff at the reception was very friendly and kind. But the staff at the breakfast area wasnt seem professional. They did not know what are they really doing - taking order without saying anything (not friendly at all) bacons were burn black, scramble eggs was watery/etc. That was so disappointed. But the room and facilities like swimming pool, sauna, shower and gym were nice.
E.
Great pool and spa facilities and good service - large room (Junior King Suite), but small bathroom for our number of guests (two adults, one child).
Beautiful location with very nice views.
L.
Comfortable beds, high quality linen and robes. Restaurant is excellent for any meal. Staff are efficient and friendly. Love the pool and spa.
M.
Me & my partner stayed here on our honeymoon.
We paid extra for a "room upgrade" - I probably wouldnt bother next time. We entered a room with a empty fridge, basic looking room overlooking their self made dirt carpark & a very dated aircon system that was noisy and faint strength which is not helpful in 26 degree heat!
The bathroom WAS beautiful and spacious with twin sinks & the pool area we did make use of. Quite a nice large pool that overflows into another smaller pool and also a small spa. We used it first thing in the morning as it gets quite crowded and rowdy with kids during the day.
Also our check in/check out staff were really lovely, attenuative and efficient so no problem there :)
Overall a mixed stay - our stays at the other Hiltons may have built our expectations too high for this one. I would be hesitant to stay here again considering the price vs reality. probably look at a stay closer to the lake next visit
K.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Taupo, the room and view was spectacular. The only thing that let it down were the finer touches in regards to service being more tentative during dinner service and having a few more condiments/sauces available during breakfast service other than that the stay was very pleasurable.
M.
We stayed in their 1 bedroom apartment for 2 nights - the room was so spacious and luxurious. It exceeded our expectation.
Staff friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Well done!
Definitely will return here when we visit Taupo again. Higly recommended.

We spent 2 nights for my birthday weekend. The room was well kept and had a nice view of Lake Taupo. We watch the sunset from our room balcony. Bistor lago, Hilton’s restaurant has a nice view of the lake and the sunset but you need to book to get a spot in the deck. The high tea by hilton is also a nice experience they serve zealong tea with scones, savoury and sweet treats.
t.
Mostly good, could do with some groundwork, trees need a good prune, lawns out the front turned into a meadow, and weeds growing on the deck at the bistro. Rooms however were well appointed, clean and quiet. Large carpark below also useful if you are towing a trailer
A.
Disappointing as we paid more for an apartment, which was not very clean (incredibly dusty), kitchen cabinets had not been wiped clean and even utensils still had food bits on them. Waited more than 45 mins for breakfast in the restaurant.
J.
Wonderful place to stay with your fur baby! We enjoyed our stay here, has some hiccups with check in and door swipe card malfunction but kudos to the front desk staff that know how to handle the situation specially to Swapni. Our dog enjoyed his stay here with an access loo area. HOPE that Hilton Queenstown consider to open their door for the fur baby’s as well. Thanks Hilton Taupo we will comeback.
L.
Amazing place to stay. Especially loved the onsite restaurant - had the two best meals of my life. The staff in the restaurant were friendly and helpful. The elevated level of cleanliness was impressive, especially loved the stickers on the door showing no one had been in the room since it was cleaned.
If I ever stay in Taupo again, I will choose the Hilton every time.
S.
A fantastic place to stay, the staff are amazing and make you feel extremely welcome and valued.
Pool area is lovely - we spent a lot of time there!
Great breakfast, smaller quantities of the buffet food which is fantastic - it means it's always fresh as they are constantly stocking them up and if you're not into the buffet breakfast there is a great list of fresh cooked food that is included (Eggs Bene, Pancakes, Omelet's and so on)
Can't recommend Taupo Hilton enough - and the pricing is very fair
Will be back - without a doubt!
C.
As always, a lovely relaxing stay. Without being able to travel it's a great, resort feel hotel, where you feel like you can unwind
S.
Great hotel. Pool area is great, will be fantastic in the summer. The on-site restaurant was too quality. Located slightly out of town but only a short 10 minute drive into town.
M.
Spacious room. Really warm. Super comfy bed. Gorgeous heated pool and spa. Amazing lake view. Nice restaurant. Couldnt walk to town tho but otherwise fab and friendly.
S.
Awesome stay, beautiful view, room was just amazing!
If you can get the wine and chocolate on arrival and breakfast deal, it's the best choice as the wine, chocolate, cheese platter and breakfast were well past my expectations!
S.
The best service I have ever had at a nz hotel. Immaculate and clean, great restaurant and pool. Beautiful grounds and gardens. I’ll be back very soon! The staff were 10/10 nothing was too much for them.
S.
Sue and Paul, recently enjoyed our stay at the Hilton, the staff were exceptional especially Naomi, who greeted us with a warm welcome, and went out of her way to see that we had everything needed to to make our stay comfortable, also had dinner at the bistro, the food was fabulous.
Well worth the five stars.
H.
Excellent hotel, with good facilities including a pool/gym complex and a very nice restaurant attached. Needs to be a little bit clearer about their room pricing to avoid surprises at check out time.
j.
Wonderful stay, professional service & staff. Mouth watering dinning in the Dinning Room followed by relax in the spa pool topped off by an amazing breakfast
M.
Great to visit a garden centre with varied stock. Loved my time here and didn't come away empty handed! Helpful staff in the yard too which was a bonus.
K.
The room was superb. The service did not meet our expectations of a top class hotel such as the Hilton. It was average all round. Everything came with a surcharge - credit card- underground parking etc. These are available at no extra charge at smaller Hotel/Motels. One left with impression that no one would go out of their way to ensure a contented customer.
B.
Love staying here. Last stayed in May for our 50th wedding anniversary with family. This time it was for Bill's 75th birthday. We were supposed to be celebrating with family in Auckland this important birthday. Important - he's just started his 3rd year in remission from b cell non-hodgkins lymphoma stage IV. Every occasion is special and needs to be celebrated.
Food, accommodation, staff, facilities (heated pool and spa) absolutely outstanding.
R.
Loving the heated pool/spa
Steam Room & sauna amazing
Well done sorting this out, awesome job by your Poolman 😃👍👍👍👍👍
V.
I absolutely loved my stay here, everything was perfect. The bed was exquisite, the restaurant food and staff were outstanding, the heated pool and spa were fabulous, everything was literally perfect and I can't wait to return!
A.
This was my second stay. First was when it first opened. Truly nice serene location in Taupo. Great staff, well experienced in hospitality and the service industry.
Will certainly be my favourite for stopover trips on more regular basis.
Another stay early Oct21. Just as great as always. Front office was warm and welcoming. Dinner at hotel was again 5*
Thank you to the team at Hilton Taupo
R.
Hilton Lake Taupo was fantastic and had everything regarding facilities that i wanted. Beautiful and clean and the price for the night was very good. Bed was great.
T.
Had our mums 90th there for lunch. They made her feel very special. Lovey place and the servers were lovely. The view of the lake Devine and the food!!! Will be back
P.
We were very well looked after, staff were wonderful, food excellent, hotel very clean. Thank you.
I.
Great place for an overnight stay with great service and friendly staff, along with strong protocols to ensure a safe stay during COVID - vaccine passport required for entry
B.
Wonderful place to stay. Great location, great staff and facilities, amazing food!
S.
Very nice staff and fantastic rooms. Good service.
K.
Room was average, no private balcony, but loved the heated bathroom. Would have been better if it had a microwave. Room service very expensive and slack. The girl who delivered the lacklustre sundae asked if I wanted a spoon to eat it with. Y didnt she go back and get the forgotten spoon before knocking on my door?
Our room was 213 bottom floor and all you could hear all night was hum (from aircon maybe) and water pipes noises. Hard to sleep as so noisy.
Not much breakfast options (better hot selection and variety at Distinction Hotel) and both days was warm/cold buffet. They really need to turn their warmers up so keep food hot. Cleaners were friendly and pool was small but nice. Free parking is a hill climb so good exercise.
C.
5 stars for a 5 star hotel. The staff indeed make this a positive experience in its self.
With a great restaurant connected to the hotel. You can really enjoy a relaxing break away, by eating in, room service or pick up.
It has a lovely heated pool and spa pool that offers relaxing views.
We stayed in a standard double room that was the low end of rooms on offer. So this meant ground floor with no views. But you can waive out to everyone walking by 😆
The room was two single beds zipped together to make a super king. We had two pillows each and ordered two more. These were slightly better as they was the slightly longer pillows.
The bathroom had heated floors and towel rail which was a lovely touch.
They provide complementary robes and slippers for your stay.
For the tea and coffee station, you will find the normal single served teas and coffee a small tea cup with a teaspoon, however no saucers. The milk is uht.
There is a good sized bar sized fridge for your own goodies.
A fabulous experience that we hope to return for. But might splash out a little more to secure a lake view room.
J.
All in all, not a bad place to stay. Not sure it warrants the 5* rating however.
The staff on reception are nice enough and will try their best.
Unfortunately after requesting a baby bed, there was a poo stain on it. Thankfully they changed it, but the next one also has a poo stain on it. They replaced it again - 3rd time lucky. My suggestion if you’re going with a baby - take your own travel cot. We scrubbed the new one just to be sure.
Also, it was a shame the steam room wasn’t available. It would of been nice to of known in advance before we got ready and headed down to use it.
We’d probably stay again if we knew the cleanliness of the room was improved, as the views are great.
K.
Beautiful room and very clean just a long walk to get there. Restaurant amazing food.
U.
Wonderful retreat after few weeks of level 4 and 3 lockdown. We felt very safe with all the precautions implemented by the hilton.
H.
We loved staying here. Staff are friendly the food is nice. Spa and pool is great. Room very nice. Even surprised my hubby bday doing a mini bday platter .Going to hot pools was good. How ever we where overcharged by lots. We payed accommodation on arrival. And the rest put on tab which was food and drinks. Certainly was not $800 worth over two days. I give 3 stars. We still on holiday still.
J.
Staff were lovely and welcoming. Outdoor pool and spa area was very clean and relaxing. There's also a gym. Rooms were clean but railing in the bathroom was rusty with some outdated features. There's a nice outdoor area just outside each room with a table and chairs for you to enjoy your morning coffee/breakfast. I stayed in the deluxe king room and it came with a fridge, mugs, wine and drinking glasses as well as tea, coffee and a kettle.
G.
First class, beats any motel hands sound for similar cost
R.
Excellent hotel. Great facilities. Attentive staff. Secure parking.
T.
Awesome place and the host very nice peoples, clean good breakfast..coming back again..
K.
A great place to base for that time in Taupo. An apartment gives you the freedom and space to stay for a few days.
W.
Room service food was a let down. Other than that, tidy, clean, and great place to stay with the family.
S.
Another relaxing overnight stay.Great outdoor pool & lounging area. Water temp good. Excellent Valentines' dinner - try the steak - superb cooked breakfast. Staff friendly, professional yet unobtrusive. Value for money. Highly recommend.
R.
Overall a good stay. The package deal we got which included breakfast, 25% on hotel services and restaurant and late check out was worth it. Spa and pool was nice. The buffet breakfast was amazing (had juice, muesli, fruit, smoothie, pastries, crossiants, ciabatta, eggs, bacon, hash browns, crackers, cheese and more) and we were also able to order pancakes, omelettes, eggs benedict off the menu at no extra charge. Happy hour on drinks and the restaurants steak was a good size portion. The service was great and staff made sure we were well looked after. All things you would expect from a high end hotel. The biggest disappointment was the room as it had a tiny non-smart tv so ended up having to watch netflix off our laptops, getting to the counter and realising they charge 2% on the credit card and being charged a delivery fee for room service - I assumed this to be covered when you're already paying a lot to stay there. Overall a good stay but maybe not the best value for money. I felt staying at Lake Taupo Resort was better value for money as they had a large smart TV in the room and a swim up bar for far less cost per night, so doesn't surprise me they were fully booked and this was plan B for us. I would definitely come back to Bistro Lago restaurant though.
A.
Of course, the staffs are nice and I enjoyed one night staying with swimming pools and sauna.
However the room was super tiny for that price. There was not even tea table in the room and probably smaller than a motel or little studio room.
However I enjoyed the facilities, so I might visit again.
P.
Just lovely. Great service very nice rooms
b.
So nice to go on holiday and everything is lovely and clean and well organised. Pick the Hilton!
A.
Great hotel, which it should be given its provenance. Fantastic pool complex. Really nice buffet breakfast and with the discounted cost of booking from reception. It is a little further from the rest of Taupo, and the drive between has a couple of major intersections which makes the short drive a little tricky.
A.
We paid $398 per night for 2 nights. This includes a $50 upgrade per night to a premium room that includes a lake facing room. The room provided upon check in was 116. The room itself was ok but had a view of reception, not the lake. This room is definitely not with paying an upgrade for. However we brought this to the attention of the Manager Swapnil and he provided great service and found a room with a lake view. The room was ok but did not feature anything that we felt was 5-star. There was a lot of scuff marks on the walls in the room. The lift lobby’s were also very dirty with lots of black marks on the floors and walls with chips and damage. The pool area looked nice. Overall we didn’t feel it was what we thought staying at The Hilton would be like and was over priced for the value and what we paid. We were also required to pay $100 bond for incidentals which seemed inappropriate for the nature of our stay. We thank Swapnil for his great customer service.
A.
The panoramic view is amazing, but this is only visible half the time. Whereas the friendliness, helpfulness and generosity of the staff is always on full display. Thank you staff of the Hilton Lake Taupo for making our stay utterly brilliant!
H.
Bistro Lago high tea really good, staff were fabulous
M.
Great hotel, lovely staff. Stayed there for a wedding. Wheelchair room was good Bench seat in shower. Only down fall is the Wheelchair room is through about 3-4 heavy fire doors making it somewhat difficult to get to your room in a wheelchair. Food was really nice with great views from the restaurant.
R.
Simply the best place to stay in Taupo. Clean spacious rooms, courteous professional staff, wonderful facilities and fantastic restaurant are the classy trademark of the Hilton brand because we deserve nothing less. Whether you're in Taupo for business or pleasure, this is the place to be after a day's activity.
g.
We choose to stay here because it is so close to De Brett's hot pools. Exceptional service. We also had a good dinner and breakfast here. Car parking is always a bit of a pain. The free wifi was good enough to zoom on.
P.
Great. Food and service were outstanding. Bluff oysters, mushroom puree, truffle and 63 degree egg. Then beef cheeks. Slow cooked and a creamy mash.
K.
Highly recommend Hilton Lake Taupo - it is a beautiful property with amazing pool, spa and gym. But the staff are next level fabulous - kind, caring, attentive.
E.
Lovely spot! Immaculate rooms and lovely warm pool, spa plus sauna.
The dinner we had here was superb, one of the best cooked Scotch fillets we've had in a long time, brussel sprouts delicious, tuna and squid were excellent too. Creme brulee was ok, but could be better. Well attentative staff.
Breakfast was great value, $28 for all you can eat breakfast buffet.
Room was well priced. Awesome job Hilton staff, overall a very pleasant experience and 100% would stay again.
H.
A really enjoyable stay. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The pool and gym facilities were excellent. I probably would have paid for the upgrade to get the higher up room as we were on the ground floor but it was still very nice. Staff were very polite and helpful. The onsite restaurant was nice.
D.
This was the most enjoying Hotel stay I have had in a long time, everything was immaculate, the rooms were magnificent, the staff were extremely helpful, warm and friendly. I would recommend this Hotel for anyone wanting a totally relaxed getaway.
C.
Clean rooms. Great staff, very friendly and helpful. Loved the hot pool. The chef in the restaurant can cook to perfection and create most enjoyable food. I had kingfish and it was succulent and accompanied with vegetables with great flavours. Most enjoyable stay at the Hilton. We will be back again.
J.
attentive staff, good gym and pool, good location, quiet, striving for carbon neutrality- would recommend for the business traveller
M.
Hilton is my home away from home. Consistently the best Hotel chain in the world. I have travelled to over 60 different countries and I always stay at the Hilton as I know what I am going to get - the BEST
A.
We enjoyed a fabulous weekend break, totally enhanced by the super lovely staff and a fabulously comfortable Junior suite. Our stay was to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary, and from the minute we checked in, we were congratulated & welcomed. To our delight we also found a card in our room with a hand written message again congratulating
us, which made us feel quite special. We enjoyed all the facilities at the hotel, especially the lovely hot spa, followed by happy hour cocktails at Lago bistro next to the cozy fire places. Thanks for a great weekend Hilton Lake Taupo
M.
Great place, wonderful rooms and excellent service
M.
Nice place to stay. The rooms were quiet, clean and decently sized, and our ground floor room had a nice private courtyard.
The free carpark is unsealed and about 100m from the reception (unless you pay for a park under the hotel).
Note that due the location of the hotel and the busy road you'll probably want to drive to taupo itself.
S.
First time stay with Hilton Lake Taupo. Beautiful location, amazing food and great service.
R.
The Hilton Taupo is a great place to stay. The rooms are a good size and very clean
The swimming pool is warm so great in the cool weather and the spa is hot.
Located 5 ti 7 mins from town
Staff are helful and friendly
C.
A really nice place to stay, beautiful food and very pleasant, caring staff
n.
Great spot for lunch or dinner. Great service.
K.
Stayed for 2 nights the previous weekend. The hotel is a bit out of town so having a car is handy. We booked a twin regular room and were up sold to a twin plus. We thought the upgrade would be free as a gesture however we were charged. Expected the beds to be bigger given the whole plus thing but they are just single beds. Definitely comfy.
No pillow menu. The pillows were flat and I had a stiff neck so we got another pillow and they wanted us to give back one pillow in exchange. Unheard of. The rooms are tired. Level of cleanliness is not the greatest. The lake view is a partial view.
Room service food was just ok. They mucked up our order first night but the hotel comped it. There is free parking or you pay $30 a day for the underground parking.
The best part of the whole stay was the pool and spa pool. Perfect temp for a cold day. Plenty of seating around the pool and lots of towels.
This Hilton charges the price of the Hilton you would expect but doesn’t deliver in quality or the luxe you expect.
G.
It's not the same. It's good but the service is not what it use to be. While waiting in foyer at 1530 there were three different couples still waiting for their rooms to be ready.
The chef at the restaurant is great 👍🏻!
M.
The room I stayed is getting rather tired but overall good value for money.
V.
Brilliant attentive staff, good food and great accommodation.
s.
Amazing staff ! But I wouldn’t go for breakfast. Not much variety. We asked for chicken bacon but nothing was there. All sausages and meat is bacon. For someone who doesn’t have bacon it’s hard to eat.
T.
Lovey feel to the place. Food choose could have been better as was very limited (BBQ buffet). Nothing for vegetarians but lettuce and a vegetarian sausage or gluten free people. (Which we had with us).Price on the high side.Staff not very aware of going ons. Eg. Setting up music when speeches were on. There was Room for 💃 dancing! Over all though, it was a great night
M.
3 bedroom apartment was lovely, good size rooms and well laid out, decorated to a high standard .View of the lake too. Although a delay with check in we were given complementary drinks. No bathrobes were available which would have been handy to use for the walk to the spa,and light in one of the bathrooms was faulty but otherwise happy with our stay
K.
Love this hotel. So clean. The best and most inviting pool and spa area. Immaculate. Friendly and helpful staff. Very professional
J.
The Hilton Taupo delivered as always.
Impeccable service from of its staff.
Our room was outstanding! Clean , comfortable and with an amazing view.
20/10
M.
Beautiful experience, a great place to enjoy good hospitality and great food..and great service
K.
Amazing service, fantastic place to stay.
M.
We had a lovely evening out with friends here at the Bistro Largo. We all choose the roast meat platters , the food was plentiful and of a good quality. Then we ordered 1 each of the desert and cheese platters and shared, absolutely delish ! Staff were very friendly providing good service. It was one of the nicest meals we have had for quite some time. Loved sitting by the open fire enjoying both a pre dinner and post dinner drink. We will certainly be back.
D.
Fabulous couple of days, gorgeous room in the Heritage wing, friendly, helpful staff, lovely amenities, restaurant meals very high quality.
Will definitely be back ❤
M.
The property is quite large, and the staff is friendly. Our experience with the rooms was not as great.
Of our two rooms one would not get warm due to ac issues and the other one had a king size mattress that was old and saggy which made our backs hurt.
We asked for fixes, and the next day the heat was a bit better, but the mattress was the same.
They have free parking that is on your right very next to the entrance to the property, in the night you might not see it (and it is not marked). They also have a reasonably priced paid covered parking.
T.
We booked the King Junior Suite for 2 adults and 2 kids. The room was a good size, clean, but very unpractical with no kitchenette sink or cutlery.
We had 3 meals at the Bistro, and all of them were very very unorganized including hospitality and time management. We were left for long periods of time in a waiting couch, then at the table even tho the restaurant was only 15-20% capacity. Then failure to bring drinks at time of the meal.
Not to mention that one morning, the entire hotel woke up to no hot water so meant no showers as we needed to check out. I understand things like this happen, but it was the icing on the cake for us. Not good value for money overall.
M.
We are HH members and like the Hilton brand. This hotel is a slimmed down version but made better by personalised service by smiling staff. Manhandling a luggage trolley through a rabbit maze to our room had us in tears with laughter! Restaurant excellent and had both dinner and breakfast there. Great food and attentive staff. Didnt try the pools but they looked clean and well presented. Thank you
P.
We were celebrating our 4th year together, and got some nice special treatment at the restaurang. The room was also greast and the breatfirst was amazing. Tons of local foods and it all felt very fresh. Highly recommended!
C.
The rooms are really nice, and the pool & gym are excellent. I think this is the nicest place to stay in Taupo.
M.
Comfortable enough stay but standards seem to be slipping. Attention to detail is the hallmark of a good 5 star hotel and at Hilton Taupo these seem to be overlooked.
Ā.
Second time here and a lot better. Room was spacious and tidy.
A.
we came over to check available room after dinner. reception staff is a nice India boy and he gave us a very good services. thanks
A.
Amazing place. I need one of those beds.
I will be back!
C.
Great stay. Very clean and tidy room. Under floor heating in the bathroom was great. Awesome customer service
J.
- we had a king room and found it to be adequately sized for us. We only stayed one night however. If you are staying longer and will have a lot of ski gear/clothing you might want a bigger room for your stuff because it may get tight.
- rooms were very clean and modern. Stayed in July 2018 and seemed like a recent Reno had been done.
- bed was super comfortable, really can’t complain about anything.
- the breakfast was all the usual fare, super good quality and a lot of care and effort had gone into it.
- the hotel is not located in walking distance to the shops but it is on the same street. We drove to Taupo and free parking is available at the hotel. Secured parking is also on offer for a price. The hotel faces the lake and you can see the snow topped volcanic area from there too. If you are lucky enough to get a room facing this lake it is amazing.
- the restaurant attached to the hotel is worth checking out the food and ambience there is so lovely with great views of lake Taupo. The breakfast is in there too so if you go for the buffet get in early to grab a table right by the massive floor to ceiling windows.
J.
Excellent service. Room was beautiful, although expected for the price. Drains needed attention. Staff were exceptional. Grounds are beautiful. I think I'd rather they absorbed the cost of secure parking but who wouldn't.. If you like luxury hotels, you'll like the Hilton Taupo.
R.
Chose to stay here based on proximity to Lake Taupo. This was also about an hour's drive to Roturo so it made sense. Hilton tends to be expensive but this one is very well priced and comparable to other hotels I looked at, including boutique type hotels. Even better when you convert to American $. My stay was in July and I am not sure if prices change at different times of year. Deserves a look.
The hotel seemed like a business hotel with relevant amenities. This didn't apply to me but was noticeable. Did a King Guestroom and was very happy with it. Comfy bed. Large desk and ports for work (didn't need but is there). My personal favorite was the large walk-in shower. YES! Bathroom seemed to be updated as far as I could tell. Solid room. Checked the boxes.
Parking here had a daily rate ($10?) but no big deal.
Good access to Lake Taupo, solid room, great bathroom, and good prices brought me here. If some higher power brought me back to New Zealand, I would look here without question.

If you don’t normally stay at nice places and you want to splash out with the girlfriend then I would not recommend any of the basic rooms here, while the rooms are nice, you could stay somewhere a lot nicer for the kind of money you pay for a partial view of the lake, no couch and very basic TV (I assume that the expensive apartment rooms must be a bit nicer, but I wouldn’t know because I’m not Bill Gates).
Parking is always full near the building so you’ll end up parking in the gravel down the hill (unless you’ve got a fancy Range Rover, then you can take the disabled park because you’re a lot more important than people like me) and you probably won’t get a chance for a quiet dip in the pool as there will most likely be one or two self important 8 seater Audi driving stay at home mothers discussing their nanny woes while their four children causing a ruckus are running rampant around the pool area.
Lastly, there is no toilet brush! Normally this would be ok but the toilets here are the long pan style with a small discharge near the front. This can be a disaster if you are trying to sneak an early movement before your partner is out of bed! With no toilet brush around I was forced to think on my feet and use one the hand towels provided. Would probably recommend a reverse donut approach to people in future to avoid possible embarrassment.
The staff were very friendly and the room service was very good.
Also, I’m not sure if I missed the fine print somewhere but there was a $50 a night bond added to the total booking charge which came as a surprise to me. Might not be a bad idea to use this money to invest in some toilet brushes.

Great place to stay, will be back for sure
A.
An excellent Hotel with very helpful staff. We really enjoyed our family holiday and would highly recomend the hotel for a family holiday with mixed age groups of children.
D.
Outstanding accommodations and the hospitality is top notch. My photos are of the buffet/continental breakfast, and what can I say but that the food is excellent! The views are really picturesque here, and the quality of the materials in the rooms is remarkable. Heated floors in the bathroom are a nice touch.
B.
Enjoyed a wonderful wedding anniversary in an unexpected upgrade. Front the front of house reception staff through to the food and beverage team the service was exemplary and personified 5star service. The manner in which the front of house team responded to the challenges of a temporary reception and some more challenging guests was a credit to their training and professionalism. The room was well appointed, spacious with great lake views and the food at the Bistro a delight to the taste buds. Look forward to our next stay.
T.
Usually a 4.5 star stay. Unfortunately a 3 star stay this time around. Typically use the 1 bedroom apartments 2-3 times a year and feast 2-3 nights on room service.
Went in for last school holidays. Checkin time usually 3pm. Turned up at 5pm had to wait another 40 minutes in line to checkin, then another 30 minutes to the side of the desk while ‘they cleaned the room’ kids and wife sitting in the car for all that time after a 4 hour drive was not the way the holiday should have started. Checkin is so integral to customer experience- was the worst experience ever and definitely came close to destroying our holiday stay. Saved in the end by complaining to the manager - should not have come to that. We’ll take our business elsewhere next time. Managed a 3 star because the facilities and room service were still ok. Note room service took 1 hour to deliver for all 3 nights. Standards have certainly slipped at Taupo Hilton.
I.
The rooms are well appointed, excellent pool and spa. Friendly staff.
The restaurant food is superb, especially the slow cooked lamb. HaBe it with a side of Brussel sprouts.
H.
Great service. Would stay again
C.
A very lovely hotel, wonderful food. Let down only by the dining room service, which is definitely very amateurish and not 5 Star at all.
C.
Lovely hotel. Exactly what you would expect for a Hilton. Friendly staff, especially Dominic! Comfortable bed, and nice modern decor. Close to town and easy to get around if you have a car. Next door to deBretts. Restaurant on site. Gym, swimming pool and spa /sauna facilities. Thank you for a lovely stay. Would stay again.
c.
Very good location.
Room nice , but very seperated from dining and bars etc , need to walk outside to reach them. No SKY , that was a surprise.
Beautiful food at Diner and Breaky , but wouldnt be quick to return.
I.
Beautiful and quiet location, but out of town so you need to drive to restaurants etc. Staff very friendly and attentive. Junior suite was spacious and comfortable, although bathroom was a bit small. Decent on-site restaurant (The Bistro), but not cheap.
B.
Thank you for a great stay with fantastic service.
F.
Absolutely fantastic, the bedroom was so spacious and glorious bathroom. The meal at night was outstanding and breakfast was awesome.
M.
That’s the first impression. This Hilton branded property looks and feels just like a Hampton Inn despite its historical building.
The normal rooms have nothing special, barely different than any motel out there though I do believe it will be ok if you stay in one of the suites.
The location is worse than most hotels near Taupo Lake since it’s not on the lake side and you have to drive in order to either visit the lake / the town or get something to eat (unless you’d really like to have a dinner at where you stay instead of something local).
Staffs are great and helpful and they have nothing to do with the poor facilities. They don’t have a laundry maybe because “it’s a premium brand hotel, it’s Hilton”. My bad to ask the humble question because all I saw is a Hampton Inn
P.
I love the Hilton Lake Taupo. It is partly a historic Victorian wooden structure with modern rooms. We had a balcony with a magnificent lake view. Parking is free. The have a great restaurant and we enjoyed dinner on both nights of our stay, because it was that good. The restaurant is kind of a hot spot for the whole community of Taupo. It is also where you will have breakfast. A wonderful five-star-experience.
T.
The 1 bedroom king apartment had the most amazing views, all the staff were welcoming and friendly. Went above and beyond. Will definitely be back.
C.
Hi
My husband and I went for my birthday.
We did a high tea it was lovely but we had whipped cream not cotted cream.
D.
Spacious room, large beds and wonderful views. All things you will get at the Hilton Lake Taupo. Everyone was super friendly, the rooms presented well and all in all was a good stay. For those on a budget worried about paying extra for parking they do offer free on site parking but there is a small inclined walk.
P.
Quite underwhelming actually. Though it certainly is a nice hotel with a great view, coming to a Hilton one expects the Hilton standard. When arriving, we were greeted with only half of the necessities, considering the amount of guests we were. The suite, which accommodates four people and comes with a built-in kitchen, had shards of broken glass in the dishwasher. The kitchen itself is rather useless: The knives aren't sharpened and the kitchen hood simply sucks up the cooking fumes and blows it into the room. The pullout couch for the third and fourth guest is uncomfortable and squeaky. Also, the bed sheets came off with every single move one made. Something as easy as having the usual two bottles of water ready was not done regularly. However, the managers on-duty did their best to handle the problems.
I'll think twice about returning here.
D.
High class place. Great friendly staff. Nice big rooms. Out of the way so can't walk to anywhere. Very nice Gym. Parking is a problem unless you pay an extra $10. Walking outside to get to the rooms is a bit strange and not so pleasant when cold and raining.
S.
My husband and I booked 2 nights / 3 days (late check out of 1 pm) at the Hilton Taupo via Luxury Escapes. The package cost us $399 which included the breakfast buffet each morning, plus $50 credit to use in the restaurant. Our room and terrace had a great view of the Lake, and the ensuite was modern with under tile heating. We had a delicious dinner there on our first night and thought the breakfast choices were excellent. Check-in was fast and efficient, the restaurant service was friendly and professional. The only hiccup was discovering the coffee mugs & teaspoons were still stained from use by the previous room occupants. We brought this to the attention of Reception. When we returned later in the day there was a complimentary bottle of wine waiting for us, plus a personal message/card from Head of Housekeeping, Heidi. It was very much appreciated. Thank you. We had a lovely few days in sumptuous surroundings - the only thing we didn't get around to was having a swim in the pool !! Highly recommended.
C.
The best hotel experience I have ever had! We were treated like royalty, had full access to gym, spa, pool, steam room and sauna.
the room was PERFECT! very clean, heated floors and towel rack in bathroom. I wish I could have taken the bed home too! SUPER COMFORTABLE! They even folded our PJ's for us when they serviced our room!
Staff were spectacular! Shout out to Pania and Angela! These beautiful ladies made our stay extra special!
They never batted an eye and promptly delivered anything we requested. Even a pair of scissors!
I cannot fault the Hilton at Taupo in any way! Just perfect!
P.
This is a lovely resort style hotel with standard features. Staff are great and offerings are as expected for such a hotel. Situated on the outskirts of Taupo
I.
Had an enjoyable stay here.
Receptionist and service team were friendly and accommodating, ensuring all our needs were met.
Rooms are slightly older style but were still well kept and clean. Beds are nz king sized and comfortable. Bathroom had double sinks and Crabtree and Evelyn amenities.
The only improvement could be the parking. There is limited spaces at the front, so for free parking, we parked far away at the bottom. To park closer at undercover was a $15 charge.
P.
I have been here a few times, the apartments are very nice, high ceilings, nice bathrooms, spacious with distant lake views. The outdoor pool is great and the service is very good. Best hotel in the price range.
M.
It's getting a little tired but overall good value for money.
紐.
The view from my deck is significant amazing. Price is reasonable high but it’s worth it. The one of biggest problem we have while we stay is the heat up swimming poor is not working. The water is far to cold my kids cannot swimming. All the facilities are really nice plus the restaurant is also good. You can see from the photos. Highly recommend to everyone but make sure their swimming poor working right. VH
J.
A clean hotel with beautiful views, a friendly, warm staff and even warmer (heated) bathroom floors. But speaking of heat - the amount of fire doors was supurflous, the robes too scratchy, and one more hot tub would have been nice. That said, still four stars for a great stay.
A.
Just had time for 1 day stay
Was upgraded to lake side view room. The view is fantastic.Excellent service by the reception and the restaurant staffs.
Will look forward to stay at the hilton again.
J.
Have stayed a few times. Always get a room close to the pool. Great facilities. Gym could be a bit bigger... Great pool for the kids. Nice when they open the outdoor bar
N.
Quality with Excellence in all departments.
On arrival.
The Front Office Manager was Willing to provide a room suitable for one's needs as well as offer an upgrade with a little more expense. With this Offer. I was able to stay in a King size One bedroom Open plan apartment. I was totally impressed with the Quality and provision of a kitchen that provided Quality pots. Pans. Crockery, cutlery, glassware, utensils etc... Being a chef myself. I enjoyed using the kitchenet facility. The dining room itself was spacious seated for 6 persons. Where I was able to entertain. Included was a Minibar selection highend choice of champagne. Wines Beer. Gin. Vodka etc..to a variety of Non alcoholic beverages. Very. Very Impressive selection. The
Bedroom itself was separated from the Lounge area. Presentation. Phenomenal. Housekeeping deserves recognition for the excellent job they do in providing every amenity necessary to enjoy a soak in the tub. Bathroom facility EXCEPTIONAL!!!
Outdoor facilities. Spa. Sauna. Gym. Pool. Absolutely delightful where one can rest fully relaxed in the ambience of nearby NZ Native bush. Tuition birds in turned with the surroundings.. Whilst in the comfort of the deck chairs. Pool service. Menu selection. Why go to an island retreat. When the "Hilton in Taupo" provides it all. The scenery is NZ Native Bush. Taupo Lake seen from my apartment was a DELIGHT.
I WAS TOTALLY IMPRESSED!!
Thank you to the Front Office Manager both He and She who followed suit in providing a Welcome that WAS valued and Appreciated. From a weary traveller. I was tired and all I wanted was a check in without fuss or bother. These staff members provided jus that.
The price offered WAS well worth the luxury ...
Breakfast WAS included.
Food presentation. Variety and service from all staff was welcoming. The Hostess with her staff. Again. Hilton you DESERVE Recognition.
I and others WILL certainly return....THANK YOU So so much.
KEEP UP THE HIGH STANDARD!!

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights this week at Hilton Lake Taupo and loved every minute from the moment we arrived. Staff exceptional with attention to detail, friendly and nothing was ever too much trouble. Particularly we would like to recognise Aditya who we spoke with several times and was wonderful. Fantastic location, rooms, amenities, restaurant and bar, 5 stars for everything - we will be back!
R.
The Good: excellent staff. Truly so! Especially Sheryl who made us feel like we were visiting an old friend's place. Decent, free wi-fi. Unsecured though, so use a vpn. The Bad: the "cheap"/ regular room is quite basic. Ill fitting bed sheets no mattress cover, post stamp size TV with very limited channel options. Broken bits out of the wall. The ugly: No toilet brush! Apparently this is the case with all Hilton hotels. I'd love to know the story behind that.
I can't recommend unless you get a good deal, coupon, etc.
S.
We had an amazing vacation in NZ and the Hilton added on top. Great views over the lake. Big and comfy rooms and dinner at the restaurant was excellent. We hope one day we can come back
j.
I liked the experience. It was a last minute decision to stay in Taupo, just an overnighter to break the journey from the bach.
I liked the look of it and the hedges.
The restaurant was excellent for dinner...the terrine! The kingfish!
Then , next morning breakfast!
Staff ...simply lovely . To my surprise, I made the aquaintance of the maintainance man who was very pleasant and I enjoyed a friendly conversation in regards to the gardens. I have a significant birthday this year and I have requested a weekend visit to the Hilton to celebrate it..... I teally enjoyed it...

Originally we had book a junior king suite but upgraded to the one bedroom suite once we checked in mainly for the convenience of having a washer and dryer in the room. The room was beautiful huge soaking tub, large shower with amazing water pressure. We have two little ones traveling with us they slept on the sofa coach and my husband and I shared the queen sized bed. During our many naps the kiddos would sleep with us in the queen sized bed a bit uncomfortable, when in the sun all day and your body is craving a nap it doesn’t matter. We weren’t able to check in early which wasn’t a big deal. The buffet styled breakfast was great and they had a meanu where you could order other things if you didn’t want was available on the buffet line. The room service menu doesn’t have the best selection either. I ordered a cesar salad and it came with aioli sauce. I assumed given it’s a cesar sale it would come with the a cesar dressing, nope! I wish they would’ve told me aioli comes on everything, otherwise I would’ve subbed it out for a vingerette dressing. The pool is slightly heated and the hot tub started off as hot and progressively cooled down as the week wore on. I think maybe because little children were allowed in the hot tub with/out a parent needing to be there presently with them. The first night at the hotel we had to call down four times for housekeeping the next day. Four days into our vacation we got rowdy neighbors who you could tell they were drunk were out on the patio drinking more, talking loudly, and clinking bottles. I had a huge issue with this considering I just put my littles down for bed and the noise woke them up. I called the front desk three times before the noise stopped it took a good hour before they could locate the room making the noise. Overall, beautiful hotel, the staff were very nice and attentive to our needs would recommend.
M.
The property is quite large, and the staff is friendly. Our experience with the rooms was not as great. …
L.
Great food. Nice rooms. Restaurant service is sub standard to the point that it detracted from the stay. TVs old and tiny.
J.
Wonderful room and service ❤
m.
Very good experience. A minutes drive to the city. Tip: opt for buffet breakfast if u can. Vegetarian and child friendly options. Options available for muslims as well.
K.
Stayed for 2 nights the previous weekend. The hotel is a bit out of town so having a car is handy. We booked a twin regular room and were up sold to a twin plus. We thought the upgrade would be free as a gesture however we were charged. …
K.
Good value n fun place for a stop ovet
J.
Have stayed a few times. Always get a room close to the pool. Great facilities. Gym could be a bit bigger... Great pool for the kids. Nice when they open the outdoor bar
N.
Great service
K.
Great Restaurant staff been well trained
T.
Hilton provided a great experience, rooms are large and spacious and the grounds itself has plenty to do eg pool, tennis court, study rooms etc, you can spend your day here without leaving. Amenities in the rooms were very good too, only complaint I had was the lack of charging ports near the bend, and the TV they had was a bit dated, this is small pickings though we never really used the tv anyway. Hilton is also located quite a bit away from central Taupo, so if you decide to stay here and want to go to town for a drink or get some food, you'll need to drive out.
K.
I have been to Hilton‘s all around the world and this one is fantastic - my favorite! It seems brand new - everything is impeccable and the service is out of this world. I was here with my two boys and we had a beautiful Junior suite with a balcony & great view. The staff went out of their way to help us and make sure we had everything we needed. Luke at reception is especially amazing. I don’t usually leave such glowing reviews but after staying in some pretty terrible places here in New Zealand, which had the worst Wi-Fi ever by the way - this was an absolute treat!! It made my kids so happy to be here - I’m so thankful !!! Wish I could give more stars
C.
Whilst home from the UK we did a bit of a tiki tour around the North Island which landed us here at the Hilton Taupo. The room we stayed was a very good size with a very good bed (best sleep in 2 weeks). Despite the poor weather we were able to spend a great deal of our time outside in a well appointed balcony area.
Stupidly we left our babies sleeping bad in the bedding but Hilton found it and are sending back to us at their expense via courier.
Well worth the money
A.
Nice location, comfortable stay. Relaxed :-)
Will certainly visit again.
L.
I absolutely loved this hotel. I thought the people were very nice and went above and beyond. I asked some questions about New Zealand spirits, but they didn't know the answer. Jack (an employee) printed off descriptions to wineries/NZ spirits and brought the pages to my room. Nikita was very helpful, friendly, and quick at check-in.
The accommodations were quite spacious and had a nice view. The restaurant was delicious and the wine expert recommended some great NZ wines.
Overall it was a really great experience.
I.
My Wife and I spent our little getaway in Taupo, lets just say one of the best experiences. Thanks to Hilton Lake Taupo for making our stay a memorable one. Staff are so friendly, Hotel was spectacular. Restaurant staff were so attentive,a special thanks to Barbara and the team. Spa and pool was amazing. Cant talk highly enough about Hilton Lake Taupo, Definetly a 5 Star.Is highly recommended.
m.
Very good experience. A minutes drive to the city. Tip: opt for buffet breakfast if u can. Vegetarian and child friendly options. Options available for muslims as well.
J.
Awesome hotel! Hands down the best hotel in Taupo! Massive rooms with two bedroom and three bedroom available. Presidential Suite has a 14 chair dining room, 4 ovens, double door fridge, butlers kitchen and main kitchen, two lounges, 3 bathrooms and 3 double bedrooms plus my favourite a movie room with 4 electric reclining lazy boy type leather chairs and a massive 65inch LCD screen and Blu-ray players. Also 4 private decks and and in wall fireplace viewable from dunning and lounge so dual wall see through.
The hotel has a pool, spa, gym, great restaurant with amazing food. Underground parking and DVD selection at front desk. Staff are amazing and very accommodating. Hotel pools are also walking distance from hotel with hydroslides etc. Great hotel for kids!
L.
Amazing Place. Lake View Suite. Dined at the restaurant twice. Pool and Facilities are Great. Staff are very friendly and professional. Will be back. Thanks for making us feel welcome
J.
The hotel offers great views, great facilities, spacious rooms and yummy food. Not far from the central city, the waterfront for a walk or just a base to relax and recharge.
J.
Love the stay there but wouldn't give us up grade when asked told to do it online bad service by the person on duty other wise a lovely place to stay at.
C.
Enormous suite with a beautiful view of the lake. Friendly service and nice restaurant. The gym and pool were also very nice. Although it’s a little ways away this was a great base for doing the Tongariro Alpine Crossing.
B.
We just spent a night there and the room we booked was massive (space wide I mean) and the view from the room was cool. The restaurant attached to the hotel is really good, a bit pricy but impeccable. At the end, it was a really pleasant time there
T.
Really nice hotel. Attentive staff when arriving late at night. Hotel room is comfortable, clean and well appointed. Would definitely recommend.
T.
Excellent spot. Great views, good pool, soa and gym facilities and we found the restaurant to be fantastic. Highly recommend.
D.
After suffering a freezing night with broken heat, duty manager did not have an idea how to exercise customer service.
A.
Simply amazing. Couldn't think it would be better than Queenstown, but it was.
Apartments are to die for. Food was great every morning. Gym is above average and includes sauna and steam!
Would recommend and stay again.
J.
Great layout and facilities. Beautiful view and good swimming facilities. Staff are lovely. Rooms are good though bathroom was small and oddly stocked. Would recommend this place in any season.
L.
We stayed at a few places over New Zealand's North island and this was by far our favourite. The staff are super friendly and no request is unreasonable for them. Great facilities and room was in an excellent state each night we returned.
A.
During a very busy easter weekend, as always a wonderful stay at the Hilton in Taupo New Zealand.
Everybody should try it at least once!
T.
this place is amazing. has great service through and through. the hightea was amazing and the night time spa and sauna was a favourite. not really in town but it is pertch high up so has great view.
the fridge was in an odd place which heats the counter and the mini bar drinks exploded inside.
K.
Our second time here at Bistro Largo, and unfortunately the food is decidedly average for the price you pay. They also haven't updated their Web menu to coincide with their in house menu. In a very competitive environment, I would expect better quality and flavoursome meals for the price.
D.
Needs more variety for the morning buffet, especially for us fitness freaks that don't eat red meat. Also, the lunch/bar menus leave a lot to be desired.... the bar menu is nothing but deep-fried foods. Some cheeses/fruit platters would be an easy (cheat) addition. Cocktails by the pool would improve the summer getaway experience!
J.
Gorgeous hotel. Staff, in particular the manager Emil were incredibly kind and helpful. Small gym and pool and a good quality restaurant on site. Wish we had more time here.
G.
Scenic viewed of Lake Taupo from room. Clean, fresh. Parking included. Water overflowed from shower onto bathroom floor. Beautiful modern design interior. Restaurant not in building but in old de Brett's. Need to walk a fair way outside building to get to restaurant.
C.
My friend and I arrived here after a truamatic start to our short stay away. on reception Karen Jenkins, duty Manager was superb in her approach, attitude, professionalisim, communication skills and utmost consideration to accomodate our situation. We had an amazing stay, the roomn was magnificent along with the views, food was beautiful, beds were truly amazing to sleep and overall very well looked after. Thank you Hilton for making our stay positively memorable. Cant wait to come back.
P.
This Hilton hotel has the deepest standard I've ever had in a Hilton Hotel.
The rooms are ok so far but the restaurant is not in the main building and when it rains you'll get wet. Also the breakfast buffet is very small and the most is unhealthy food.
The waiters are nice but very inattentive, they never ask if you want more coffee, you have to take care of it yourself. The whole building is not very hospitable.
C.
Beautiful facilities but cocktails in beer glasses different to say the least
J.
Beautiful hotel. Staff were very friendly. Only reason this is not excellent is that the reception staff were TOO bubbly and TOO friendly, it came off fake. I prefer the restaurant staff, they seemed a lot more genuine. Nobody should be so happy to see you, they giggle a good morning to you and beam at you from behind their desk. But again, that is my only issue, everything else was absolutely excellent! Shouldn't be complaining about this, but it was just weird!
S.
Can't fault it. Apartment Rooms are large and offer amazing views of lake Taupo. All meals had at the venue were good. Staff always helpful and polite.
A.
We went here for dinner and were somewhat disappointed at the service and my wife's scotch fillet was 1/3 gristle. My meals were fine. Staff were friendly but too few, we waited 45 minutes for our meals to arrive
S.
Beautiful well appointed rooms with lovely views. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you to the staff for making our holiday extra special.
D.
Very pleasant front reception and at the front desk at breakfast. Had a couple of issues getting swipe cards to work for the garage and our room, but we always stay there when visiting Taupo, best accommodation
L.
Very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Lovely pool and spa.
K.
Love the beautiful location and scenery. Our family have been staying at the Hiltons every holiday. Good service. Would recommend.
A.
Amazing hotel, had a wonderful time room was excellent with service to match. Forgot something in the room. And concierge phonede the following week tonadvise that they found the item and will keep in storage for me. Will return.
R.
Nice location comfortable rooms great pool and not too large. Recommended
G.
Stayed here to break the drive between Auckland and Wellington. The Family suite had plenty of room for the family of four to spread out and enjoy their own space if needs be or keep together and relax. Great pool and superb buffet breakfast to start the day.
C.
It's the best service and most comfortable bed I have ever had at a hotel...
G.
The Hilton was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Meals were great. Our room was awesome. Thanks for a great stay.
A.
Great hotel, fantastic location, even better views. Special mention to the Scottish girl who greeted us and took our bags. Will be going back in winter!!!
C.
The only place you should stay in Taupo. I've been here many times and everytime is great (once was also a stag trip with 20 guys and they were great) we love the views, the rooms are spotless and new, and you can order to the spa using the phone near the gym. The local restaurant makes some banger cocktails, excellent food and great views and ambeince next to a fire. Winter or summer - top spot. Also has a Tesla charging station.
W.
Great place that was available at the last minute, nicely spacious junior suite, really impressed with the cleaning protocols!
A.
Great place. Everything is really the highest quality. The only thing I wish they had is some transport option to the town cause it's a bit far to walk. Also, I wish there was breakfast included in the room.
C.
It was definitely a fantastic stay because of the group I was with. Wouldn't say I loved the place, but thoroughly enjoyed my stay, couldn't really fault it.
S.
Wonderful stay. Nice views and friendly staff. But disappointed on their buffet breakfast as it didn’t have much options.
T.
Nice hotel. But room was too small. I was assigned a room on the ground floor which has a relatively small sitout area and lacks privacy. Other aspects were good.
G.
Lovely hotel atop a hill overlooking Lake Taupo to Mt Ruapehu. Bit out of town but access to thermal pools close by. Nice rooms and restaurant.
m.
Loved everything here...awesome location...great facilities which includes thermal pool...sauna and steam bath...jacoozi and what not.
Ticks all the boxes and view of the great Lake Taupo makes it even better.
Full marks !!!
L.

Nice Hotel. The first lift in the Historic building is a bit slow and boring. But when you get into the Apartments the lifts in there are KONE Ecodisc's and are Epic!
J.
We stayed 2 nights at 3 Bedrooms Apartment (523). Nice view from each room, very comfy and roomy. Excellent service.
J.
This I'd a jewel in the hHilton crown amazing place and really enjoyed my stay. I'd be going back time and time again to the Hilton.
Just visit stay and you will see what I mean so relaxing.
R.
Very nice room, comfortable bed, wife liked the swimming pool. Good location as long as you have a car, about 5 minutes drive to town and shops and restaurants.
m.
Incredible hotel. Service food & staff fantastic
M.
Great place to stay.
S.
Very staff and big rooms ,perfect with kids
T.
Very friendly staff (Cody - frontdesk)! Great accomodation. Nice view. Beautiful pool and they have a sauna. Worth every penny.
Y.
Friendly staffs with modern classic rooms. I personally liked their breakfast the most. But there is no business centre. Overall, excellent.
S.
It was very enjoyable as the rooms where clean and room 234 amazing view of lake taupo.
C.
Nice room, but starting to show it's age a little. The fact we had a shared balcony was a little strange, and not what I would expect in a luxury hotel.
J.
Rooms are great and the view is amazing but it is an old hotel and the facilities are showing signs of neglect. The breakfast selection is mediocre - on par with a novotel or ibis hotel
M.
Beautiful property with stunning views. Apartment rooms are luxurious and spacious. Received an upgraded room on the top floor with a view looking over Lake Taupo at Mt. Ruapehu and Mt. Ngauruhoe.
T.
The surroundings are lovely, however the service in the bar/restaurant is very slow
C.
Lovely experience from check in to check out.
Staff and restaurant experience was also surperb.
H.
Well appointed rooms. Breakfast buffet service could be improved. As compared to other Hiltons across the world the 5 star rating is a bit of an overstatement.
J.
Great pools and luxury, we loved the stay.
N.
Lovely apartment, great facilities and super-friendly staff - they treated us like special guests, even though we weren't!
T.
Great hotel. Fabulous views. Clean rooms. Comfortable beds. Friendly staff. On site bar and restaurant.
v.
Awesome place nice room n swimming pool was the fun fact for me which I really enjoyed a lot ,food was up to the standard ,followed by friendly and good customer service by dinner & breakfast staff
R.
Nice rooms in the heritage wing with views over the volcanoes. Room 14 is the best. Staff are friendly and helpful too
J.
A well run effective hotel, excellent restaurant. Friendly capable staff. Clean rooms with good amenities. Secure parking.
T.
The staff made the experience at this beautiful hotel a true 5 Star experience.
M.
consistently a great place to stay
T.
Great location with amazing views. Kids loved the buffet breakfast.
S.
