A.Highly recommend this place for its location, value for money and most especially, great customer service! Checked in today at around 1:30pm and the lady was lovely and welcoming, made sure we were fully guided and have everything we needed. Despite the ‘backpacker’ label, the room we are in is pretty cozy for families traveling with kids (our kids are 4&7). Would stay here again, if we come back Tauranga. 😊 Such a gem!
B.Nice place, 3 mins by car to city, good atmosphere, reasonable priced. Great spots dotted around with outdoor picnic tables, bbques, wrap around decking, fully equipped clean kitchen, ample 3 fridges, good space for your own aupplies( in kitchen) My room was clean, good water pressure in shower, bed was a little firm for me. Had tea and coffee supplies and facilities in room, fan. Carpark is on an incline but is free.
K.Easy booking and check-in, stayed in a shared room. creaky bunks, but overall not too bad. If you're tall like me, bed length may be a problem. Great kitchen and facilities.

M.This is an awesome property. Beautifully designed place. The rooms are specious. I loved the fireplace and the sitting area. The reading books were definitely a catch. It has character and I am definitely going to come back next time just to stay in a for a day to enjoy all this facility have to offer.
C.Staying here is by far one of the best experience in any working hostel I've had. The rooms are clean aswell as the kitchen and showers. The whole place has a lovely atmosphere and homely vibe with a cosy television area and warm fire. Luji and Nico are two of the loveliest people and go out of there way to make you feel at home and looked after.
E.It was fine, but I wouldn’t stay here again. Very cold rooms with heaters on a timer, so woke up absolutely freezing in the morning. Just a few things like peeling paint, old curtains, cheap loo roll that made it disappointing rather than cozy.
J.Great service! Friendly staff and good facilities is how I can describe Hugo and Caters. Stayed here a few months ago and was pleased with everything. Only downside was the road works leading to the carpark. The place was clean and tidy including the showers and they have great spots outside were larger groups can relax.

R.Host is excellent, friendly and welcoming. Family room was clean, I love the simple and modern decor, beds were semi-comfortable. Well equipped room for two adults and four children (three teens). I am definitely going to return in the near future. Found it superior to many other places, and the price is more than reasonable. Two night stay, 25.12.19 to 27.12.19.
E.I stayed almost 2 months at Hugo for the kiwi season. Josh is an amazing host and he works very hard to let everyone feel good, comfortable and happy. The hostel is great, very modern and warm and we never had a problem.

L.It’s that place to be! With great people around and a lovely manager Josh who is always there if you need him. I changed in that hostel nearly a week ago and definitely want to stay here as long as I’m in Tauranga for. Freshly renovated with a quite chill outside area, cozy atmosphere in the living room especially if you’re hanging around together. You can play games, watching movies on the TV or just read a book in there. Generous-clean kitchen which has everything you need. I’m staying in the 8-Bed-Dorm with comfi beds and a heater if it’s going to get a little bit colder. The washrooms are cleaned every day and and the facilities all over the hostel are lovely decorated. I highly recommend the hostel. You’ll love it.

D.Stayed here for a weekend in a double bed private room, incredibly tidy and clean accommodation. The communal areas were well kept, beds are very comfortable. Friendly atmosphere, great staff! I would recommend to all travelers into Tauranga who are seeking affordable accommodation.

F.The place is newly renovated and looks fantastic. The place was nice and warm and has a really cosy lounging area. The manager showed great hospitality to our large group that stayed there (nearly 50 people). Amazing people and a great atmosphere!

b.Hugo and carters is a great hostel, I couldn't recommend it enough. Managers Nyko and Luji are the best they really go above and beyond to try to help all residents out.
The location is perfect for anyone working in kiwi fruit in Katikati or Te Puna.
P.Great hospitality from the manager Josh who made us feel really welcomed and tried his best to make our stay the best it could be. Awesome place for a large group of people as it had excellent facilities and rooms to cater for our group of around 50.
M.My family and I stayed here for two nights in the family suite, 4 kids and 2 adults and we absolutely loved it ♥️♥️♥️ Staff was super friendly, other stayers were welcoming and the stay was just soothing for the soul! j.Friendly, trendy, clean and warm atmosphere. Loved all the spots inside and out to catch up with a larger group or meet new friends. Location is quick to town but it still has a rural feel.
