Great 5 nights here. We just love this campground and the kids club was brilliant. Small, heaps to do and we hired kayaks and paddle boards this time which the kids loved. Low key and lovely.

My favourite campground in NZ so far. Everything here is perfect, from the beautifully designed and sparkling facilities to the spacious and fabulous grounds. Excellent and helpful hosts, great fishing and the beach right beside the camp. It looks like a wonderful place for families, with the pool and playground, but also great spots for vans and motor homes.

A lovely camp site and clean facilities. Great beach to chill and nice little reserve right next to it to explore native NZ bush. Had a wonderful 10 day stay here.

Facilities were of a good clean quality. Staff were found to be very abrupt and rude. Both nights while being very quite and just sitting outside with a drink and a book, we were told there was a 10pm curfew and people staying must be in bed, didn't appreciate the rudeness of this and being told when to be in bed. Otherwise a very nice location and site condition. Lots to do.

Very nice holiday camp right at the beach. Weather was not good while there so we're going back, also to do the walks in the area. Loved our stay.

Spectacular holiday park. Facilities are spotless and well maintained. The kids loved the wifi, pool, jumping pillow and glow worm cave. There is a great walk nearby with wonderful views, and lots of birdlife. A beautiful spot with generous sites and a friendly welcone, we'll be back.

We had a group of 14 stay and it was THE BEST. excellent facilities, friendly and responsive staff. highly recommend.

We had another fantastic stay at Ohiwa Beach Holiday Park! This is one of our favorite campgrounds in New Zealand! The campsites are spacious with beautiful views. The facilities are super clean, tidy and modern! Great for kids with a jumping-pillow and play areas plus a lovely warm pool with cape cod chair to relax after. The campground is being lovingly looked after and there is rarely a minute where you do not see the owners being busy to provide comfort for their guest. We lost power for our pop top caravan and as we couldn’t fix it, we asked the owner for help.Todd was so kind and helpful and solved the problem with no hesitation. We are passionate campers, but if you prefer to book accommodation there are plenty of different sized cabins that you can choose from. We loved our stay and highly recommend this place. It is always too short! We definitely will be back as soon as possible!!

Lovely camp with friendly, helpful staff. Pleasant grassy sites near the beach. Sand dunes along beach. Grounds well kept. Facilities well appointed, organised and very clean. We started out staying for three days but left over a week later.

We've been coming here for many years - our happy place! Great camp; big sites, good facilities and clean! Love lying listening to the roar of the surf and the night crickets...

Nice, water front campsites. Beautiful location. Great facilities (pool, games room, 2 kitchens). Bring your own cooking utensils as they don't provide any (even though their website says fully equipped kitchen). All in all a great campsite! BTW, Don't forget to go see the glowworms: 2 minutes down the path at the far end of the campground.

It's been a great location for family holidays for 20 years now. Great location close to harbour and surf beach, and close enough to Opotiki to make it easy to get all the stuff you may need. Happy to recommend to anyone happy with a campground experience.

Fantastic camping ground for families. Lots of activities to do, stunning beach, great bush walks, extremely clean, excellent kitchen. Fantastic service. 👍🏾 It is my favourite campground 🏕️ in the region. 😊

Beautiful beach, clean and tidy facilities and to top it off dog friendly! Will be seeing us again. Happy campers for sure. The lookout from the top of the hill over the campground and estuary was 10/10. Good time of year to visit too just before the xmas rush.

Beautiful spot and nice facilities. Its in a very secluded part of the country so its nice and quiet. A 5 -10 minute walk and your at the glow worms. Bring coins for showers (20's, 50's, $1) Really nice park for the kids and a swimming pool. We loved staying here and would definitely recommend it.

Awesome location my only complaint if I had to have one is paying for a shower. I don’t understand this growing trend of camp grounds that charge a premium price to stay there but still charge you more to have a hot shower. Having said that we found the facilities spotless and we will be definitely back again

Allan and Nola are lovely hosts The location is beautiful, quiet, great for bush walks, beach walks, glow worms, birdlife, waterfall, fishing, swimming, kayaking, families. The accommodation I stayed in was a tourist unit it was fully self contained with a bathroom and kitchen (except an oven) very clean, comfortable beds and living space, private, quiet ,we'll priced and overlooking the ocean. A great stay for anyone with the accommodation options. Loved this stay off peak season

This is a great camping ground in a fantastic location. If you want a kiwi holiday this is a place to consider. Clean Facilities and very well presented. Big sites , neat kitchen , swimming pool, and the beach is magical. Well done team on a great job , we will be back .

Beautiful place, clean units. Enjoyed the atmosphere xx very peaceful. The inflatable pillow was great at keeping the kids fully entertained along with the trikes. Laundry facilities was handy for keeping holiday washing down. Spacious communal area, not to mention beautiful wooden benches. Netflix was a bonus. Thoughrally enjoyed our time here. Very impressed.

Fantastic place, definitely worth the little detour. Ideal to calm down after the excitement of exploring both islands. Or for a short trip, there is really everything you could Possibly want right at the ocean with the best view on White Island for whole Bay of plenty. If it was even more you’d know you are not on earth but in paradise. There is plenty of Phantastic places in New Zealand but this is one of few that sticks out. The best is The people though with Todd and Nola truly Ohiwa Heart & Soul they are. We hope we will be ever so blessed to return one day.

If you are looking for affordable, family friendly and superior camping facilities, Ohope Top Ten Holiday Park has it all. Dog friendly, family activities, fishing, bbq and amenities. Wonderful team.

Lovely safe camping with highly clean facilities and great people. Native birdsong morning and evening was wonderful due to Onekawa Reserve on the border. Beach is nice, wide and safe.

Lovely place to stay , small kids do need to watch out on the bouncy pillow as it can get a bit dangerous and seems to be not well monitored . Otherwise no complaints. Staff in shop are lovely too

Wow! fabulous beach and immaculate, well managed campground. Relaxed vibe, sheltered from most wind directions and heaps of things to see and do. Great place to spend a few days.

Best campground so far!! :-) Good in many, ways. From the staff, vibe, location, things available for kids, and amenities.. such a great place.. AND for the crazy one (me, haha) who needs a hill to escape to if a tsunami occurs, there's a hill there! I could go on! 5 STARS ALL THE WAY :D

Awesome amazing place to stay. Upgraded to tourists Cabin had all we needed. Kitchen facilities to cook, TV & heating top notch just perfect for our small group of 3. The owners/management/all staff take pride in their Ohiwa HP you can tell the care/design of the facilities & park have exceeded any expectations of 5 star accomadation in the Ohiwa area. Top spot of paradise! Well done.

Great spot to see glowworms. Easy 10/15 mins walk and the sky is super clear to see a few shooting stars.

What an awesome place to stay , the facilities were so clean and tidy, the grouds were immaculate, thank you to the lovely lady in reception, she made us feel so welcome and provided us with all the info we needed. We have stayed in many places around New Zealand, but this has to have been one of the best, i would seriously rate this holiday park a 10/10. We will definitly be going back, and will recommend it to all our friends :-)

Stayed here for 3 nights for a uni field trip. Facilities are nice and clean. Enjoyed the inflatable trampoline a lot. View of Ohiwa beach in the mornings is awesome, just a 2-minute walk from the holiday park.

Beautiful location and very well run. We stayed for 10 nights over new year's when the camp ground was running at capacity and the shared facilities (showers, toilets, etc) were always clean and tidy and sufficiently distributed through the park that there were no queues. We stayed in sites F7-F9 and would very much recommend the location. Very sheltered, quiet and handy to everything. Unfortunately they're some of the only sites in the ground without power, so you have to live with that. The fact that there is no discount for an unpowered site especially given expensive per night rate charged here ($23/person/night) was the only negative I could come up with over our stay. Highly likely we'll be back!

Beautiful location nestled between hills covered with verdant native bush and topped with historic pa sites and excellent views in all directions, and the beach with great surf and pretty good fishing. A rotund elephant seal was resident on the beach while we were there.

Well worth a stay. Some really great terraced camp sites amongst the Pohukawa's with views of the sea.

Beautiful spot for a holiday. Access to the beach is just meters away and the campgrounds are well maintained and with good clean facilities.

A classic kiwi holiday destination with well maintained, clean facilities. Lots of space, friendly staff, and readily accessible beach and harbour. Lots of native wildlife a short walk away with nearby bird sanctuary, glowworm grotto, and other sea life. In the past we've spotted orca pods crossing the bar, dolphins amongst the waves and this year a female elephant seal resident on the beach during our stay.

Fantastic location and very well appointed. Showers were hot and had good pressure, hosts were friendly and the whole place was relaxed and friendly. Only regret is we didn't get to stay longer.

Just beautiful. Ocean on one side, harbour on the other, lots of walking/bike tracks and the scenery is gorgeous. Very clean camping ground and lots to do for kids.

Cant rate this place any higher. If you have young kids then this is the camping place to go. Great, friendly run camp facility. Close to the beach which is nice and flat and great for fishing.

Was a beautiful peaceful place right on the beachfront, all facilities on the grounds wer clean and maintained to the highest standard, was very affordable and the staff wer very friendly and helpful

Staff very helpful.Water was turned off so no water to make cup of tea cause there was leak and I asked management answer was should be fixed next day.Not only there was school kid's 50 , guests not able to us pool as they had swimming pool all day Guests could only use pool after 4pm when some guests had paid $130 night they could not use pool.Kids had use of pool all day Management got that very wrong.

Absolutely beautiful! Heaps if fun for kids and beautiful walks on the beach for adults! The kids loved the bouncy pillow and must admit I had some fun on there too!

True kiwi "Christmas on the Beach" (although I an spending new years instead). Beach is great as really shallow for ages due to the sand bars, with plenty of body boarding waves. Huge diversity in shells to collect and Dotterel, Weka and Oyster Catchers can be spotted with their young. If you are camping close to the dunes, secure your food scraps else the cheeky Weka will take them back to its young. Hot foot it across the sand back to your site and plenty of loos and showers to go around. You prepay 10c a minute for hot showers and $4 for a load of washing but during this time there is no need to use a dryer as always breezy. Music off after 10pm as the morning sun on your tent is sure to wake you between 5am and 7 (especially if you have kids). Only downside is the access to glow worms is bit long and in the dark to take children under 9-10 considering it doesn't get really dark till about 9pm in the summer.

Tidy cabins, nice and quiet, very close to beach. There's a games room with ping-pong, pool and air hockey. Only the ping-pong was available at a small cost of $5.

Been here for a few years now its quiet peacefully and the most caring couple NOLA and Todd are.

I had a very nice stay at this site. Really quiet and close to the beach. Amenities were complete and the toilets were super clean. It's not the cheapest but it is worth it.

Sea, sunshine & great setting below bush clad hills. Love the seaview from the 3 walled kitchen. Great having activities for children.
