From the minute my wife and I booked in, we felt relaxed and welcomed. The food was superb and the service was second to none. Patricia and Greg were lovely, and nothing was too much trouble. We have stayed in big name accommodation around the world, and seriously, in my opinion, none compare to the charm of the Tauranga Lodge.

My partner and I just returned from a four-night stay. We absolutely loved the place. It's incredibly well-designed to allow for guest privacy and comfort, while still making you feel like you're being welcomed into a home. John and Karla were amazing hosts and we'll likely be back to see them again.

I always stayed there when holidaying in Tauranga. Being going there every year that Karla and John East were the hosts. In 2015 I was just starting my last week of three, when I had an accident and had a four weeks stay at the wonderful Tauranga Hospital. Karla and John looked after my luggage, when it was obvious that I was going to be laid up for a while, they arranged to have my rental car returned to Auckland, to save me the expense. Not only did they visit me in hospital on a regular basis they were kind enough to do my laundry and any shopping I required. They rebooked my flight for me when I was able fly again after surgery, got me back to Auckland airport made sure I had help to book in and board the plane. Unfortunately they have now retired and I'm not sure if the New owners of the lodge are open for business yet.

We have just returned from a wonderful 3-night stay, hosted by Karla & John - simply outstanding 11 / 10. Karla's culinary skills are truly sensational. Would highly recommend this as a place to stay when in the area. We will return for sure.

Absolutely wonderful place to stay..whether you are from New Zealand or overseas you have to experience Tauranga Lodge. Quality accommodation and quality hosts. 5 stars isn't enough.
