W.Friendly and welcoming. Rooms are simple but clean and comfortable. We had a lot of rain the last night and enjoyed the sound of the rain on the roof. So glad we stayed here rather than camping.
D.We stayed the weekend to do the Hauraki Rail section. Goldmine Motel is located close to the trail. A quiet spot so a peaceful night. Well cared for, clean and tidy. Excellent service. Has air conditioning, a kitchen with a small hob and microwave. Very comfortable. It could do with a face lift in the bathroom but considering the hardships of a closed border and lockdowns,its completely understandable that such things are not achievable at this time.
Would happily stay again.

Some hardware and service need to get up a notch, otherwise, very nice experience staying over our 5-day 2021 end-of-year family trip!
L.We stayed in 1 bedroom unit - the owner was incredibly welcoming, the cleanliness is A+!!, quality linen and towels, comfortable beds and spacious unit. It was a treat to be greeted in the morning by the owners dog and a shame we were here only one night. We would certainly stay here again and would highly recommend.
C.Very quiet motel, away from the main thoroughfares. Ideal if in Waihi to cycle the Hauraki Rail Trail as its literally 2 minutes from the train station and the start of the trail.
The Motel was very clean and tidy. The bed comfortable and adequate coffee and tea supplies waiting for you. There is a lockable shed where you can securely store your bike overnight. The only negative was that the unit had no ventilation in the bathroom so condensation quickly formed overnight on the windows. A quick fix may be shower domes on each units shower.
Other than that our stay was pleasant and comfortable. We will definitely will stay here again.
C.I stayed at the Gold Mine Motel for 4 weeks due to work. A lovely homely feel, warm and quiet. Owner super helpful. Parker and Chip make excellent welcoming committee. (Resident dog and cat). Clean, plenty of parking, close to work and amenities. Will stay again. Thank you :).
S.Very friendly proprietor, very clean, comfortable bed and nice crisp sheets. Would be nice with a paint, fix cupboard hinges, modernise a bit, but no traffic noise, and very ok to stay. Otherwise good amenities, microwave, hairdrier etc. A big coffee mug would be great 😊😊
M.My husband and I enjoyed our stay on the weekend. The room was nicely decorated. Clean and tidy. We also got proper milk. We would have liked clean towels for our second day stay. Thank you for being very welcoming and allowing us to have a restful environment. We recommend this Motel to all.
v.We have just got back from staying in this motel . There was 9 of us stayed there for 4 nights and it was great. Clean , tidy , great beds and very friendly owner. nothing was a problem to Vicki. This would be the only motel we would stay in in Waihi. And not forgetting our friend Parker he came every day to see us and checked out our breaky . We miss you Parker. Thanks Vicki and Parker for all you did for us.

P.Clean, quiet and allows pets which was important for us with our little shitzu dog. Vicky the owner was welcoming and was able to accommodate us at short notice.

T.This place was great. The kids enjoyed having a run around and playing with the swings and other toys. We were able to lock our bikes in the bike shed. The room was comfortable and spacious enough.

G.New owner's touch is immediately obvious. We have stayed here twice previously as this motel is closest to the Hauraki Rail Trail. Lovely linen, pleasant interior decor and extremely accommodating host when we requested an extension of stay. Booked inline and tarrif was very competitive. Great value! Will definitely be back. Wir waren anfangs April 2016 hier. Sehr aufmerksame und freundliche Besitzerin. Preis-Leistung hat für uns gestimmt und das Motel war in einer sehr ruhigen Gegend, etwas ausserhalb vom Zentrum. Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt und würden wieder hier übernachten.
