Nice and clean. Ice from reception is free. Has a balcony and chairs. 4 Square across road and liquor store on premises. Also has couple restaurants and bars and one does room service. Beds comfy as😍 Shallow Bath. Fridge is small and not cold enough. The mountain view is very top of mountains only as another block of rooms in front. The room can get hot and stuffy even with sliding door open on balcony. Room quite small. No one at reception in morning just put the key on the bench with the rest.

Stayed 4th & 5th January, 2022. Room was adequate and the reception was willing to negotiate the rate to a more realistic figure than the originally quoted $174/night. Beds were king single which was good. No air con, so hot at night

It was alright. Not worth what i paid in my opinion, there was mould and gunk inbetween the glass and bath tub. Nice location.

A revamped 70s hotel that offers the traveller reasonable accommodation, meals and services at a competitive rate. All I want is a clean room, good bed and a shower. This hotel offers that and I can get travel laundry done at a very good rate, too. Staff are friendly and extremely helpful for all your local and immediate needs. I am a return guest and would be happy to recommend this accommodation for those seeking affordable rates...

My lovely wife and I have stayed in both a Lake facing balcony room and in one of the more compact rooms facing the rear garden. Both rooms provide an oh so comfortable bed and very good bathroom facilities. The hotel is kept very clean by friendly, cheerful and helpful cleaning staff. The other people running the hotel are also very friendly, cheerful and warming, and will make you feel very welcome. This includes the front of house staff and even the great guys who look after the gardens and keep the building maintained. The Wanaka Hotel might be a three star but you will be treated like it is a five star. And the hotel is a two minute walk to the town centre and lake side. There is even a full kitchen should you want to self cater. What more do you want.

Direct booking is recommended as they offer a better rate than any booking sites. The building itself looked very tired just like an old school dormitory with a long hallway. We stayed on the ground floor. Room was refurbished, clean and comfortable. The hotel has a parking lot, a communal kitchen, dining room, and laundry facilities. One downfall is it wasn't easy to find any signpost for parking at check-in.

Greeted by a nice friendly lady at the service desk, check in was easy. Nice tidy room. Very comfy beds. My only slight niggle is that the room was so hot as it was a 30 degrees day with the sun pouring into the room and only had a tiny fan which was rather inadequate to do anything to alleviate the heat. I find it hard to sleep when it's too hot. a bigger fan or a cooling unit would have been ideal. Apart from that, great value for money.

Great location. Our room was older but very clean and warm...everything worked. NM ery quiet...we'll return!

Great being in the centre of the town. Like most businesses in the area finding staff a problem.

This was an okay hotel had a restaurant associated with it as well as a liquor store beside it. The room was tidy but considering the price the maintenance in room probably needed looking into. There did not seem to have access for wheelchair. If you wanted to stay longer the hotel close to town and shops.

It would had received a 4th star had the drain in the shower worked properly. Standing in 3 inches of dirty water is never fun. The water pressure in the sink was poor and a second small bar of soap would have been good. Apart from these niggles the place was great. Nicely renovated room. Lovely grounds with a view of the lake. Central to town. Great! Clean sheets and clean room. Parking for residents out back. Even a resident kitchen.

Our room upstairs had a lovely view of the mountains, it was extremely clean and well appointed. The bed was comfortable and the reception staff were pleasant. We had a very nice breakfast at the hotel's restaurant, Beanie's Cafe. The hotel is well located for the centre of the restaurant district.

Well sited hotel, nice and central to the township and lake, but rooms could benefit from air conditioning. Middle of summer but this was the hottest, stuffiest room I've ever slept in.

Good hotel in a great spot. Rooms are a good size, beds okay, not the most comfy but alright. Wished we had a view of the lake but oh well. Parking is free too which was great. Would most likely stay again!

It is an old THL hotel. It nds a good refurb. It nds air cond as bloody hot & stuffy in the rooms even if u hv an opening window, in summer. The bike room is not good for ebikes due to the 4 big steps u hv to carry them up. They need a ramp for the elderly, ebikes, heavy luggage etc. Put thru the garden at the rear. There nds to be a "proper" garage bin in the bathroom & the tiny one that is there wld be good beside the coffee & tea. Front staff excellent thank you for yr help.

I really enjoyed this hotel because of the location and great views of the lake. Restaurants are close and just 2 mins to lake which has a great kids play ground

We got the last room available which was lucky. This was situated on the side without a view other than top of a roof. Very old outdated room but clean, bathroom tiny. However we were grateful to have a clean comfy room.

The things I wish I knew : No wifi in the rooms. No AC in the rooms (a fan is provided) No elevator (but only one story building) The things that were nice : A very central position in the city. Clean room with a great view on the lake. Nice and helpful staff. Cafe and restaurant directly accessible from the hotel. No surcharge for paying with credit card.

I’ve stayed at the Wanaka hotel a few times now, first thing to mention is the incredible lake views from the 2nd floor rooms, just beautiful! The rooms have recently been renovated to a high, modern, clean standard, basic but will a full guest kitchen downstairs, handy when needing to cut a lemon for your G&T that you’ll enjoy on the sunny balcony or if on the lower floor your room opens out onto lush green grass with picnic benches. The staff are friendly and helpful and include some LONG long term knowledgeable locals for advice on all the local things to see and do. It’s location is perfectly central, a 2min walk to the supermarket and downtown Wanaka. Within the same building you’ll find a cafe where you can order discounted breakfast and a Mexican restaurant which is a definite experience if you’re wanting dinner. There’s a bottle shop, and the Bullock Bar and a local art shop in between. I couldn’t recommend it more, make sure you check it out next time you need Accom in Wanaka!

Excellent location, friendly staff, fast check-in and check-out. Nothing I can complain about this hotel. Location is superb, near the lake, restaurants, etc. WiFi signal is strong. Room is clean, staff is friendly.

Pro:Has a big well-deviced Guest Kitchen. Has a big(free) car parking. Rooms have cute balcony/access to park. Free Fast Wifi. Location: Stunning. Not too close, Not too far. At an elevation so clear from lake water#flooding risks.Besides, Discovering the lake side is so easy as its very near. Con : Although the B. Cafe is just awesome. But it shuts by evening. Then for dinner... It's Beef/Lamb/Pork/Chicken/Ham... You hav only 2 pricy restaurant with full monoply where you can dig anything vegetarian.

The place is beautiful, in the middle of town and with an amazing garden and view! It's really near to the beach where to find fun activities like stand up paddling or jet skying, it's connected to a Mexican restaurant, has a room where to prepare food or watching projected movies in the evening, clean and beautiful rooms.

It was central. Pitty about the shower. No water pressure even when taken hand held down u lose the water pressure. Friendly staff. Nice rooms.

Staff at reception were rude and made it seem like it was a pain dealing with you and not even greeting with a hello just glaring at you until you speak. doors were stiff in the room and had to be slammed shut. Room cleaners were nice and friendly and beds were comfy enough

The hotel is old but clean. The wii fi was fast and steady which was a huge plus. There was no plugs by the bed which was a problem for my CPAP machine but the lady on reception quickly arranged an extension cord without hesitation. The rooms were very hot but overall the hotel was good value for money. We were happy with our stay and would definitely return.

Good hotel with nice lake view. The room is not so spacious though clean. If you want to do cooking with yourself, there is a space for cooking in the common space.

Great location. Close to all food places and a 2 minute walk to the lake. A tad outdated but there were renovations happening during our stay so may be getting updated. A gig was happening at the Wanaka centre next door so can get quite loud if something is happening.

The room was comfortable and bed/pillows great. The best part was the meal at Amigos Mexican grill - fantastic margaritas (try the "spicy spicy") the staff, and food.

Friend booked the hotel when we stayed at Wanaka for the night. Average, the weirdest thing I've ever seen in the bathroom was 2 taps with 2 water outlets, how are we supposed to use warm water (instead of boiled)? Hotel management please try it with your own hands.

Lovely receptionists, good pricing, 2 min walk to the bus stop, great views, and yum mexican restaurant that does room service. If you're trying to not spend too much on accommodation but still want a nice hotel experience then I highly recommend this to you!

Beautiful room. So clean and beautifully presented. With being so busy it was awesome that I could get room service from Amigos. I will be staying here again.

Great food. Excellent views. The waffles were fresh and soft. I feel that I should have tried the dishes on display instead of beanie breakfast, which was good as well.

Good hotel, clean comfy rooms with small ensuite, good wifi. Very close to a lot of shops and restaurants, and discounts for a few restaurants around (even with room service by the mexican place next door!). Rooms are not cheap, but good.

Has been a while since I have been in Wanaka and stayed at the Wanaka Hotel. The overhaul on the rooms is awesome. Very comfortable and tidy. Good job.

I have stayed at the hotel on several occasions while working in Wanaka. The rooms are always warm and comfortable. Central to all amenities and good off street parking.

Well situated, clean hotel. Pretty basic, limited parking but once you do, you won't need you car for anything you want to do in town.

Its located on heart of the downtown. Almost everything is just couple of mins walk away. Room was clean with basic amenities. Kitchen was pretty decent too.

Clean, well priced and extremely central. Half a block from the main part of town. Free (slowish) wifi and parking and beds were comfy!

In the center, we got new room which is clean and comfy. Parking lot available, surrounding had resto, cafe, bar, very close to the lake.
