We are happy to cooperate with what is required for the good of all. It is our day 5 and we would like to thank all staff involved in making this difficult situation as comfortable as possible. You're doing a great job.
S. L.Staying in managed isolation and this place is great!! Very clean and tidy. Nice rooms that have good amenities. The 'staff' has been very friendly. We are enjoying the views of the city and will look forward to me day getting outside so we can visit it up close. We have conjoined rooms and being able to shut the door on the other room of children has been great. This place is so good we actually plan to spend our first 2 weeks of our return to nz here. Forget touring around. This is the place to be.
V.I was unaware we would have to wait 4 hours for our flight to Wellington. We were not prepared for that and were not advised about this process at any stage. We had people who had 2 days flying from Ireland, Scotland and England who were extremely tired and hungry. There was a small bag of snacks given and no opportunity to purchase any food. Maybe if we were advised of this previously we could have been prepared physically and mentally.
I say all this to let you know how grateful we were to come to this hotel. They checked us in quickly and had a lovely meal with basil pesto pasta with sundried tomatoes as well as fruit and a biscuit waiting for us upon arrival. The staff is amazing and cannot do enough for you. The meals are so fabulous I posted them the Miq Facebook page, and hired an exercise bike. My room is immaculately clean and a great size, the bed is better than my bed at home. The shampoo and conditioner etc is great quality and smells really nice.
If I have to be in isolation I feel truly blessed to be here.
Just got a call from the F & B Manager making sure everything was alright. Wow the details of the staff is fantastic.
I have stayed in many 5 star hotels around the world and this hotel has me impressed.
I will definitely come back here anytime I need a place to stay in Wellington.

X. Y.Fantastic service from both reception staff as well as restaurant staff from Forage. Food was decent. Great rooms, very clean except the heater from central control was not working. However the same receptionist very quickly offered us a change of room or a portable heater. We settled with the portable heater and that was delivered to our room swiftly! Very impressed with the service, would definitely recommend this hotel.

Such a lovely suprise to find we had been upgraded to a Suite, as we were celebrating my partners birthday 🎂🥳😍 Staff are polite and professional and it was so A+ marks for staff to welcome guests in Te Reo Maori, Kia Ora 💗 Our room was exquisite, Facilities (Gym, Pool and Sauna) were top class. Breakfast was delicious and the best room service chunky fries accompanied by the yummiest Aoli Sauce 😁 We definitely will be back 😍
A.As a MIQ facility they are fantastic. Went above and beyond the my sister in law coming in. mBIE did drop the ball but they made up for it. The staff are were legendary and went above what I'd expect. You could only hope to go there. If this is what theisolation is like just image the service for the actual hotel. I don't think 5 stars is enough
S. G.We stayed here for one night, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had a nice room. Compact, but very tidy and beautiful. The buffet breakfast is definitely worth getting too. It is fairly small (compared to the huge 5 star breakfast buffets), but the quality of the food is very good. The service was also good too, and enjoyed the valet service. It’s nice to just park up and not worry about parking. Location is a bit out of town. You can still walk around to places fairly easily if you like a walk, and it’s WELLINGTON so it’s pretty compact. But other than that it’s a bit out of town.
We would definitely stay again.
T.The hotel is located at the top of a small hill, right at the heart of the city, but we didn’t get a sea view room but a city view. The room is rather small but the bed is super comfy. Valet parking only, NZ30 per 24 hours. The hotel is very clean and reasonably quiet. Good place to start exploring the city.
A. C.Good value for money (stayed in the superior twin room) - room has the amenities you need including a good TV channel selection. Staff were helpful when approached. location is good - near both CBD and the night life in Cuba street. Only issue was the air-conditioning in my room made a lot of noise when turning on and off. Toilet is clean and comfortable but a few of the amenities could be better situated. Overall a good experience.

e. t. (. e.Really nice! We had a waterfront facing room on the forth floor. The room was excellent and the bathroom was huge with 2 person shower. The Nespresso machine was a nice touch.
We took a walk through the gallery. It was nice. The drawing room is amazing! Highly recommend it for a stag do of boys trip!

m.Small but comfortable rooms. Particularly loved the comfy bed. What makes this hotel better than others however, is it's staff! They were so helpful, welcoming and friendly. Even when off duty they stepped in to help us find our way to Cuba street. Thanks for the excellent service team!
T. D.Fantastic hotel, great amenities, friendly staff and a perfect location to the Wellington day and night life. Be sure to check out the forage restaurant as it serves top class food at very reasonable prices. Room was nice with a awesome view, bathroom was a tad small however had space to move around freely with no issues. At the top of the terrace which is a bit of a climb however can access through Watson Street which is a lot flatter. Would definitely recommend to others and would stay again.
G. Y.All service staff were fantastic. Though the A/C in our room was faulty and we were cold, the staff quickly placed portable heater to warm us up. We let the valet park our car for the night as the hotel didn't have parking facilities, and the next day when we hopped into our car, there was a bottle of water complimentary from the hotel. Nice touch!
M. R.Location good. Just 5 mins walk to Cuba Street to restaurants, bars etc. Room nice with heaps of USB ports and power points for charging. Room a bit small but modern with all needed amenities. Nice selection and exceptional food quality in restaurant. What did it for me was the amazing friendliness of the staff who were just so helpful and professional. I would gladly return.

Grand entrance from The Terrace, Luxurious foyer, lounge and bar but the small bedroom disappointed me. I shared a twin room. If you want to say luxury the twin room should have two luggage racks, and two arm chairs, but there is no space. Two bottles of shampoo would be good in a twin room.
The ensuite was opposite the "kitchen area" and had a frosted glass door with a hole right through for a handle. The glass door did not cover the doorway completely so no privacy especially with a light on.
Mini bar and in-room snacks well stocked. I did not try room service.
To have a bedside light on the ceiling light had to be on too or there is some secret to the switches that I did not discover.
The clock radio was half hour slow and no instructions on how to adjust.
Large tv in a good position for watching from bed. Bed was comfy.
Robe and slippers provided was a nice touch but wasteful to think the slippers are thrown out after - maybe a slipper sock that could be washed is better environmental.
I did not try the pool or gym.
D.Great service by staff, the gym and pool facilities were fantastic. Awesome location for getting around. Would definitely recommend staying here for anyone travelling to Wellington. Not sure if they rented out the elevators for some NZ swat training or if there was an insane bucks party going on as one of the nights was noisy but the rest were great
M.Stayed while attending an event at the Opera House. We were greeted warmly by a lovely girl at the reception desk. We had booked a one bedroom but were upgraded to a two bedroom suite. Lovely surprise and relaxing stay. Would return and recommend!
J. K.Nice location but small street. I was placed on the bottom level where the noise due to the gym,fire exit and proximity to the drive way made it somewhat unpleasant.
Arrived at night, the lights to the room were off and had to leave the door ajar as I searched for a light switch. Very modern in terms of powerpoints, usb chargers inside the room but just tiny details made it not as pleasant as it could have been.
Staff working during breakfast in the restaurant could have been more attentive or perhaps explained things better.

Word of advice - Get rid of your cars if you want to stay in Wellington! $30 A night for the car is hugely expensive to this girl. It's actively cheaper to pay for 24 hrs of street parking! (they should be more competitive, or match the price). Otherwise, this hotel is extremely luxurious and accommodating. Modern rooms with everything you may need.
Even the parking fee couldn't make me give it a lower score.

"loved the kawakawa tea and delicious bikkies to welcome you into the building every chilly wellington night. pool and sauna are pretty decent. bed comfy. Very friendly front of house staff.
breakfast is a bit boring, the cooked bit at least. the continental aspect and fruit was pretty good. also, they persisted in putting out an empty BBQ sauce bottle at brekkie for 4 days in a row. weird.
internet ok, bit patchy at times and limited to 1gb (heaps but an issue for some ppl)

Context: work trip for a week
I found the beds to be too soft for my preference, especially as I was recovering from a back injury. So I pulled the beds apart somewhat. It was otherwise comfortable for me. However, I'm smaller and shorter than the average Australian so I assume others would find the beds too small for comfort.
The shower was very narrow. As you can see my portable umbrella doesn't fit across the width. Again, I was generally comfortable with this though others may not be. Water pressure was good.
The entry way is tiny and open directly onto the wardrobe and bathroom. I found this uncomfortable as I prefer to have an area for soaked shoes and raincoats.
My room connected to another but I felt secure as there was no handle, lock or anything accessible from the other side.
On the upside, staff were very friendly and helpful. Cleaners were mostly accommodating in following the notes I left behind for them as well.
Wifi speeds were good for work and personal use.

R. v. E.Average hotel. Claims they have free WiFi but very limited amount. Lasted me half an hour. I requested an early check-in and late checkout, both were accepted but then ignored. Room was okay but didn't seem too clean. Smart TV wasn't set up properly. Staff were friendly and the facilities were nice.
R. E.The hotel was extremely well kept and the rooms used for my course were really nice. Prompt assistance was given by the team when we required help with getting the tv to work. The only opportunity for the hotel to improve on is the quality of the food which was average at best. It did not match the high quality that the rest of the hotel had to offer.
R.Don't believe some of the older ratings this hotel is lovely and staff are so friendly and helpful. I was pleasantly surprised my room was modern and clean. The bathroom was very modern and the shower pressure excellent.
Well worth staying at if you want a quiet spot close to CBD.

A.Best service that I've experienced while in New Zealand the receptionist when I checked in asked if I wanted to be on the top floor for a better view which made the end of my trip! Very helpful and excellent room service. One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in.

light lunch in dining room but decided room service for dinner. The Ora salmon was sensational and the cheese and fruit selection looks equally amazing. Staff have all been exceptional with cheery salutations and nothing is too much trouble.
a. a.Brilliant place with quick and extremely helpful services. Is brand new, so even better! Has good views from a smalliah hill top. Is an accor group hotel, so don't forget to bag your points whole staying here. Food services can be improved. Being new, fitness center and swimming pool is expected to open by September 17
C. E.We had a tour of the Mercure, last week. WOW!!!!! what an impressive place. It has been beautifully upgraded and the rooms are amazing. There are fabulous little finishing touches that make staying that much more special. We also checked the conference facilities and they range from smaller to larger rooms. There are great views over the city, showcasing some of the more established Wellington homes. Great range of wines. Do ask the staff for their recommendations. Highly recommend Jade and her fantastic team. Even if you are a local, from the greater Wellington region, why not book a romantic weekend escape.
N. R.The staff at the Grand Mercure are absolutely wonderful - friendly and helpful at all times and really made us feel welcome. The hotel is beautiful, the food was delicious (and we ate at the restaurant many times during our stay - never had a bad meal!), the breakfast buffet was fantastic too. Valet parking is extremely good value as there is limited parking in the area (true in most of Wellington city tho). I will definitely be back :)
E.Stayed in a deluxe king room. Location was a little strange, right in the middle of a large residential area. The views were nice though as the hotel was halfway up a hill. Restaurant (Forage) was a little overpriced for what the offerred, especially the appetisers. Overall a nice stay as what matters most are the rooms and those were well appointed. (No bathtub though)
P. W.All and all a nice place. Better suited to a corporate type visit over a family getaway. Restaurant and bar had nice views of the city and food was good. Room was small but clean and the bed was comfortable enough. All staff were friendly and professional.

T.Stayed here a couple of times now, and the place is immaculate. Clean, modern and great service, really enjoyed our stay. They have Bluetooth enabled smart TVs and so many power outlets, we love it. Only downside is there isn't free parking and it's a bit far from CBD.

A.I am not sure why this is a 5 star hotel. The rooms are not nicer than at other hotels (I was in a King Deluxe room), the location is not very central and many other hotels in Welly have a way better price... When I go to a hotel I want to be able to sleep... so I asked for quiet room. I was put next to the elevator which I heard through 2 nights in a row...
J. L.Price for two nights was comparable to a hostel or bed and breakfast, location was further from CBD than we imagined but still within an easy walk. Decor was a bit dated especially in bathroom but overall was very reasonable for the cost. Now that the hotel has had a renovation and trades as the Grand Mercure, this has probably changed.
K.Old Hotel but has been refurbished. Because its not in the CBD you can get a much cheaper deal. Food court is a 10min walk away. Close to bus stop.
I got nice views when I stayed. Bed was comfortable.
H.The beds are comfy, the breakfast is decent, the bathroom walls are see through (I was twin-rooming it with a female friend) and the gap between the door and the floor is in the 1 star hotel category.
Friendly staff, valet parking only, fun narrow roads to navigate for people unfamiliar with Wellington’s back streets.
K.Grand Mercure is our prefer choice of hotels to stay. We find that it's vaule for money. In general, it's clean, decent & rooms are nicely apointed. This one is Wellington is no exception.
There's one thing I would like to point out this time though. Hooks in the bedroom & bathroom are definitely needed for a better stay.

A. C.Suited us perfectly well for our stay in Wellington. The location made the city very walkable after a bus or cab ride to/from the airport. It's not flashy place, but it was one of very few left available during the busy season.
A. V.We went to the Christmas lunch buffet and the food was great! All the staff were lovely and friendly, Danesh made us some really good cocktails and we enjoyed the view.
S.Room is nice enough, but outdated shower & only has tea / coffee facilites. location is a decent walk from centre of town, but building has a rear exit that skips most of the hill. Would stay agian if the price was right.

M.L’hôtel est plutôt bien situé. Accueil en français par l’un des employés de la réception, nous avons pu compter sur lui pour imprimer nos billets d’entrée pour un match de rugby. La chambre était propre. Jolie. Le petit déjeuner était complet, avec une belle vue.

早餐食物种类比较丰富，味道鲜美。但现在很多人因健康问题不能吃甜食，所以如果能标明哪些是甜食，那更有利于客人选择，以免造成食物浪费。
