I absolutely adored my stay, had the cutest little room, lovely bathrooms and so clean and tidy! Amazing customer service, felt so welcome and relaxed! Such a great price, for a sweet experience! Thank you very much! I will return for sure!

I see people say rooms and bathrooms are small? Not sure what people expect for significantly less than $100 per night. I recommend the Cambridge for people who are happy with a small and simple room who rather spend their money on activities. Cleanliness was very good, the bed comfortable. Very central to everything including public transport.

Good evening absolutely awesome and exciting and excellent. I like the music the service was great. 2 Jugs of beer I share with my workmate steinlager classic for $17. He did show me all the work he did there for 3 years renovation and ventilation and sprinklers lovely timber it has a real good feeling to it. Then I order a pint of Coke and willing to pay for it and the girl said don't worry about it. Another nice girl came on duty and she said enjoy the rest of your afternoon. I can't wait to have some more jug and stay the night up there upstairs I think it would really be really fun

I have been here twice thus far so if I'm in Wellington I like too pop in if I can as I enjoy the atmosphere and food. I haven't stayed overnight as yet but I hope too in the near future as it is located quite close to all amenities of city life. Night Clubs, Pubs, Cafes and Restaurants galore too satisfy any culture and appetite 👌 New World is only a couple of blocks from here as well also not far from our Capitals Hospital etc.I highly recommend dining here as I have found their meals to be fresh, served hot and moderately priced.
J.
I have stayed a few times and it’s great value for money. Very basic, but clean, professional and great value. Will stay again.
L.
On the room I stayed (116) it was missing a wooden slat on the Venetian blind, I was tired so, it didn't bother me. But someone else might find this quite annoying, because the street light pole is right outside the window and was entering through that missing part. Other than that, it's was a nice place to stay, very tidy and clean
J.
they have great service, great atmosphere, very hospitable and definitely go back. Love the contactless app system by myyum as well. Cool
S.
Good place to watch sports. Had the chicken burger which was quick and good. Great table service with the app.
R.
I enjoyed my stay the tennants where interesting characters who made you feel at home.
And the staff where exceptional
h.
This is definitely my place to stay every time i come to Wellington. Though it's an old building, but they maintain it really well. I always book in a single room with communal bathroom. Both room and bathroom are clean, tidy. Great customer service too! They're all helpful.
J.
Lovely clean room. Huge comfy bed. Friendly staff. Very happy with our stay...
W.
This is my go to place in Wellington. I have been staying here temporarily while I do a project. My room is serviced weekly and the staff are super supportive and friendly. They have a grill room and bar. The grill serves great pub food at excellent prices - Monday is $5 steak night - that's a full 200 gram steak meal, not just a small minute steak meal. Friday is half price meals and Wednesday is nothing more than $15 for all meals! Hard to beat this value. Barry and his team do a great job!
Q.
Friendly Attentive smiling through his mask nice casual atmosphere good cold Panhead Rat Rod a quick stop but worth it.
b.
Fast check in. Nobody knows about parking much. I copped a parking fine outside on my first night in the city.
Comfortable room. Clean linen. Very good nightly price. Wifi worked quite well. Old fashioned “titanic” Otis elevator was quite a charming feature!
P.
The lady behind the counter was so nice to us. I would really say that we 4 boys felt so welcomed and she handled our booking with humor and a very nice attitude. The rooms (we had a dorm room) are actually nice for a dorm room. We saw way worst ones. The price is good as well but the staff is the best at this place.
M.
I didn't stay here but twice I have had food in the bar. Felt like just a steak etc..Great staff Barry even remembered my name on my second visit! He was really helpful with app ordering. Staff are great and food is awesome. Friendly and everything a pub should be!!!
J.
Once grand, now tired and in need of a sympathetic refurbishment. Beds were comfy and the shower hot just an awful smell of chemical air freshener that must have been worse than whatever smell it was trying to cover up. Staff were helpful.
J.
It was a great surprise the low price paid by the service provided. It was an overall good experience but it also brought some cons:
We got a room for 4 people. One large bed for the couple and one bunk bed. The bunk bed had the ladder to the upper bed completely loose and it fell, almost hitting one of us.
We did not complained about it but stayed in the same room for 4 days and 3 nights, and even with the room tidied up by the cleaners daily, nothing was done about it.
In the day before of the checkout we were in the room when the cleaner came by and we asked her to only change the towels and replace the glasses, cups and mugs since they were all dirty. Shockingly I witnessed the cleaner washing the drinkware at the bathroom sink. This is not supposed to happen anywhere but in COVID times this is a completely absurd.
In the 3-days stay, a couple times we had to use the stairs since the lift was temporarily out of service stuck in some other level.
S.
Nice affordable hotel. Ask for a room o Level 2, it seems to be more cleaner the Level 1 and Ground Level, don't know the reason (Level 2 was smelling away better). Staff in general are helpful apart from one guy who didn't bother to help us with parking information. The location is awesome, it is a walking distance to lots of attractions and the CBD.
K.
Good bar with a good beer selection and the bartender that’s was working they day I went in was super friendly and kind. Great bar to watch live sports.
K.
Excellent location, handy to the city and te papa. Upon arrival, we were put in the wrong room however this issue was quickly rectified. Cheap deal on booking.com as well.
M.
Suits us! Comfy, warm, convenient location, great food spots handy, great coffee on site, friendly and relaxed. Snack food good. Would stay here again for sure. Thanks
J.
This place is alright. I only stayed in the cheap bunk rooms and all the wall sockets stopped working after a while. Beds are fairly comfortable and overall not a bad experience
J.
It's was good value for the money, comfy bed but room was small.
R.
The team there really treat you like they care and the food was excellent. Great location.
D.
Great pub and facilities, easy walking distance from courtney place
J.
Great friendly staff who went the extra mile. Nice comfy beds and quiet. 10 out of 10 for steak chef on Thursday night. Only little issue. Could improve wine selection and no Bailey's or Port to end evenings.
D.
Last time I was there was in the 70s. Lot of history displayed in the place. Very friendly place to be. Great staff and chefs
Good service and food
Promised to fix roof (lol). Will return
j.
Pricey drinking, gaming + tab room, good food with special menus on dedicated days.. No pool table thou, friendly staff is always a plus ➕
J.
Great cheaper option. Room was clean and tidy. Nothing fancy as you would expect from the price point but a good stay.
P.
Accommodation is Old but still very nicely presented. Perfect place to stay if catching ferry crossing the next day as only 7 -12min drive to ferry depending on traffic.
Bar and Restaurant a great place to relax and have a quality meal at really good prices. Bar staff and Chef are only to happy to help with dietary needs and will also cater for Coeliac's (gluten free).
Overnight Wilson parking $8.
J.
Great place to have a jug and watch the rugby! Food is tasty and reasonably priced. Not too many pubs like this around any more.
V.
Really good ensuite rooms. Clean, TV in them. Plenty of room. Staff were great. Friendly. Except for the blond girl with the short skirt. Unfortunately she was unfriendly and rude. Most unnecessary.
J.
The best hotel you will find in Wellington hands down. What puts them above the rest is the friendly staff. A special shout out goes to Bree & Georgia at reception who sent me on my best weekend ever! Can't wait to come back!
M.
Met basic needs but would not recommend. While the linens appeared fresh, the blankets we're obviously stained and not recently laundered. I was also disappointed that many of the hallway and bathroom lights didn't work reliably. A lovely ambiance but a bit rundown. The hostel does warm about noisy weekend nights and we found that to be true, especially with the bar on the ground floor of the premises.
T.
Always stop.in here for a jug when I visit Wellington. Takes me back to single days living along in Oriental Parade. I don't know if there are any real bars in the city (not cafes that only serve expensive small glasses or handles).
C.
Clean and tidy. Nice environment. The bathroom fan was super loud and apparently the shower went hot and cold randomly-I never tried it. However when inquiring about earplugs we were given a set each and the check in and out process was super smooth. The staff were nice and I was genuinely impressed. Also the noise levels from the downstairs bar were not as bad as I was expecting. Especially on a Saturday night. Really enjoyed it thanks guys!
G.
very good stay meal were good. the room was OK, not to much disturbing noise from traffic. plus 10% discount at bar & meals
K.
Friendly staff, great location just around the corner from party central.
H.
Pretty decent food. Had the ribs, delicious.
A.
So stoked with my experience! Thank you so much to Anna at the bar who helped me out a bunch!! Came in on the 14 July 21
C.
We have stayed 4 times in the queen rooms, shared bathroom. The room is basic, but functional, and very well priced. We were happy with what was provided given the price. Food wise they have lightened up the bar and the options for food are good, the steak was delicious and the burgers are also, like the rooms, good for the price. They also have many weekly special options which make it even more attractive.
S.
Wow.
Stayed with my partner a few weekends back and I was amazed. This isn't a five star hotel where the staff are fake and kiss your feet. They are genuine, friendly and willing to help where they can. We were helped by Abbey who was a gem.
Rooms are basic but more than efficient for the price and a bargain for location.
House Keeping were friendly and quick. With a mix of race and gender which is lovely.
The bar had a nice variety of beer, which makes sense for the Rugby and Cricket fans they had in.
Overall great place to stay. We will be back. Thanks again :)
P.
Good ol fashioned 'is what it is' comfortable lounge type bar. This is the place to catch up with old and new friends. No frills, but the frills are not required.
D.
Good location. Value for money. Adequate amenities. Charming old building. Fairly clean toilets and shower rooms.
Not for the light sleeper - you could hear all sounds like the other room using their basin or someone getting in and out of their rooms.
C.
If you're looking for a cheap place to stay in Wellington that is close to bars and restaurants then this is place to go.
We had a pleasant stay, staff were friendly and very helpful. The place itself needs updating but it's an old building so dont expect too much. One other thing If you are looking to experience the old style manual elevator then look no further.
L.
An interesting older hotel.
We slept well, and the showers were good. The rooms were clean. The location was good, close to the Te Papa Museum and many restaurants.
The staff was nice and very helpful.
However, we were not able to get consistent internet, and there was very little space in our room for our bags. I would stay there again, but would look around.
A.
Pretty musty smelling room, not in great condition, uncomfortable mattress (2 single beds sheeted together to make a 'double' bed). But a great location, 2 blocks from New World and the beautiful waterfront. Pub downstairs wasn't too loud despite being a Friday night. Good price. Showers in shared bathroom were good - shower gel provided which was handy.
a.
We had an outstanding stay at the Cambridge Hotel. There was a slight problem with the payment being accidentally double charged but this was quickly resolved by Heather the admin manager who did an outstanding job - Thanks Heather. The reason we give four stars is because the cleaners came very early in the morning and there was a bit of banging of the doors. Don't let the four stars put you off though. It's in a fabulous location with friendly staff and nice rooms.
J.
Great value breakfasts and location.
Central to Oriental Bay Te Papa and on bus route 23z to Zoo.
Nice office staff who gave time and place to catch bus to Zoo. . Lots of places to eat cheaply in area including the hotel itself. With specials each day and a popular quiz on Wednesday.
Price is cheaper than most other hotels in area. Suitable for children and value with services listed above.
Also kept luggage for late plane journey home on day of departure.
Thanks housekeeping staff too.
結.
I stayed single room on 5 July.
This room has a bathroom, toilet, small refrigerator and something.
It’s has 3 towel (small, middle and big),soap and Shampoo.
But not including breakfast and don’t has microwave.
However, you don’t have worried.
Because supermarkets and restaurants is near this hotel.
Location is very convenient.
Unfortunately, this room don’t has air-con, fun and heater.
Also bathroom’s door knob is came off.
If you stay this hotel, you must need checking it.
J.
Good service and a clean room. The duvets and sheets smelt like smoke though, but easily cleared when leaving the window open for a day. There isn't free parking available which was a down-side, but otherwise a reasonably good hotel and worth a stay.
C.
My boyfriend and I booked a room for 2 nights at this hotel/hostel. When we booked our room we thought this place was just a hotel but we came to find out that it also provides hostel style dorms (not a deal breaker just wanted to provide this bit of information). It's clean, in a great location and offers you your basic amentities. We had good interactions with the staff and would recommend it for anyone looking for a comfortable, clean budget hotel/hostel. Overall no complaints.
C.
Founded in 1883, the hotel is full of character and history, without the aristocratic air and exorbitant prices usually associated with heritage hotels. This historic hotel even have dorms for the budget conscious! I stayed in a 6-bed dorm and I like the high ceiling and stable double-deck beds. (The bed remained firm and didn't make a sound as I climbed onto the upper bunk and rolled around in bed.) The kitchen and washroom are clean. The staffs are friendly and efficient and there are lots of tourism brochures and travel information in the lobby. The location is great too as it is very close to Courtenay Place, a bustling street where you can find many eateries and the bus stop for the airport bus. There is also a New World supermarket just a 5 minutes walk away. My only complaint is insufficient power sockets in the dorm (only 2 outlets for 6 people). I ended up charging my phone in the washroom while I'm in the shower/toilet.
P.
Good location in the CBD, close to everything, including public transportation from and to the airport. Provide fair price for a range of options. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Very considerate to offer liquid soap for body wash. If I knew that, could have saved me some money and a trip to the supermarket nearby.
My only two trivial concerns are: 1. The bathroom sinks are a bit small, which makes them a wee bit difficult to wash face and brush teeth. 2. I slept at the lower bed of the bunk. I can see the light on the air-con at night, but it can be easily fixed by duck-taping something to it and ripping off in the morning.
K.
Love the old school feel. 24 hour reception. Cute bar downstairs but half of it is full of people watching horse racing because, ok. The burger was awful. So dry. Room was fine, bed a little lumpy.
A.
Stayed here during the weekend. Awesome service, warm and really friendly staff. It's not the hilton or anything, but it's functional and clean. Close to party central being Courtney Place, discount down at the pub down stairs and places to eat close by. Highly recommended and easy on the pocket. Well done Cambridge, well done.
T.
Clean room, comfy bed, friendly staff and well priced. It's an old building so the lift is not the greatest and the windows can open letting in air and unfortunately noise also. It's located in the middle of a great range of Wellington's bars, cafes and restaurants which are all an easy stroll away.
B.
Not much parking.. other wise absolutely fantastic place
j.
Loads of sporty atmosphere. Good location right in Courtney Place. Perfect to watch sport as plenty of tv's with various sports showing. TAB with 'real' people serving (not like our local that only has a machine now). Staff were extra helpful on rugby world cup information to help us make an informed bet. We loved the hibiscus flower (in the hair) worn by the lovely staff member in the sports bar. So colourful! Nice place to pass time with friends especially in a rainy Saturday.
D.
Very nice meal - steak cooked to perfection. Apple cider on tap was great. Really good atmosphere. Hurricanes beat the Blues. Awesome night had.
E.
Rating highly for what it is, room hadn't been cleaned before check in but I'm sure that's a one-off. Restaurant and bar downstairs is pretty neat! Great pub food at a high standard.
L.
It's okay nice and cheap if you only want to sleep there
B.
Like the old world, cozy feel, the high ceilings and the fireplace, doesn't look like your typical budget hotel/hostel. Although some areas are a bit dark and could use some lighting and updating. Could add more washer/dryer also.
A.
We were in the lions rugby tour and stayed in a camper van down the road. Great pub. Great staff. Friendly people. We paid $5 to use the showers and they were modern and clean located on the ground floor. Superb big breakfast. Central location. Would definitely go back of I return to Wellington.
M.
Nice place. Stayed here for a couple of nights.
Clean beds and nice and clean toilets. Staff are quiet friendly too. The location is good. They have a lot of bars and restaurants around this place. The Kitchen was quiet untidy. Otherwise i would have given 5 star.
I would definitelyrecommend this place
E.
Get exactly what you pay for, affordable and clean. We got a double room w an ensuite, the bed is obviously just two singles pushed together but comfortable enough and clean sheets. Paid for two nights and they made our bed and changed our towels so worth the price I reckon. Not much to fault for the affordability.
Q.
Affordable accommodation in Wellington. A old hotel with all the classic stuff including the bar and old lift. It is definitely not high end place to stay but perfect for a night's rest... The one and only issue is parking...you need to pay up to 6pm and then hope you get a free parking after that. Food can be bought from the bar or nearby takeaway shops.
T.
The Cambridge has been my home away from home for the last year. Its got some fantastic selling points. $50 per night single rooms, $4.50 for pretty good scrambled eggs on toast and a free dinner on Wednesday night if you're part of the quiz.
K.
Clean and adequate hotel for a quick overnight stay. Check-in staff friendly and efficient. A good breakfast at a great price. Disappointing that rude and disinterested bar staff could not be bothered serving me a glass of wine on my late arrival as "we are closing up now".
t.
This is the second time staying there.
Got a room with ensuite this time .
The price was quite reasonable .
For the car park across from reception didn't cost that much for 24hrs.
The room was very clean and the staff from the reception to the bar and restaurant were very courteous and professional.
Excellent service right through.
It close to a lot of things all in walking distance.
Like te papa museum for instance.
I wouldn't hesitate in recommending the cambridge hotel which I have been doing it's an awesome place.
C.
+ 24$ for a night in a dorm
+ comfortable beds
+ professional staff
- very small sinks in the bathrooms
- very hot or cold shower, there is no in-between
- the kitchen is not equipped... You have to ask for cups and cultery at the reception. In every "hostel" I stayed until now it worked out and the backpackers were sharing and yes maybe a few things were taken by some dishonest people and that's not cool. But not having any cultery, cups, glasses in the kitchen? Just a few that will be taken away by the staff? At least we didn't have to give them 10$ to "rent" the basic kitchen equipment.
- weird smell in the floors (but I can get along with that because it's an old building)
- we're here in winter and the temperature in the room is alright but I can imagine that you cannot sleep well in summer because they have very small windows right underneath the roof which you can't reach...
- FREE WIFI?? no. Just for 60 min each day.
n.
Fun place to share a beer and some pub food.. Great service.
C.
Friendly, very accommodating staff, good value for money ,A Great place to stay in the city
O.
This is mostly a hotel but they also have few rooms for backpackers on the ground floor. So they don't really have that "hostel" spirit but it's still a nice place to stay. Stuff is very good and friendly. No lockers in the rooms.
M.
While the building is beautiful, and makes you think of places you've read about, it could use a bit of freshening up. There are a few cracks and there appears to be mold in the shower of the en-suit bathrooms for example. Like most hostels I have stayed at in New Zeeland there is extra heating but no AC in the rooms and especially the backpacker dorms can get very varm during summer, they also therefore smell a bit.
The staff though, is very pleasant and the reception is open 24/7 so that's a plus.
C.
The Dorm rooms are ground floor next to the pub ( late night bar area). They are very musty and get very noisy at weekends until 3am! However midweek they were quiet and cosy.
You have to request cutlery, plates, glasses etc at reception. The kitchen and adjacent lounge get very crowded at meal times.
F.
Great location, but that's all. Just 30 minutes of free WiFi every 24h. Old room and horrible bed, too noisy and hot. The hot water in the showers varies greatly when there's someone else taking a shower.
S.
I stayed here for 3 weeks when I first arrived to wellington. The staff was some of the best I’ve known. Always helpful if it was, getting me a room last minute the owner would give me options or just using the building for a address reference.
L.
Love the hotel staff was son nice i would come stay again food was excellent 🥰🥰🥰
B.
Quite cheap but functional. Staff are friendly and place is quite clean. Rooms are basic and small but you get what you pay for. I found it be quite noisy in evening and all through night and morning so dont expect alot of sleep! If you happy with that then you wont be disappointed.
S.
One of the most charming hostels I've ever been in. Excellent service every single time I've been there. The staff go out of their way to help and are genuinely friendly. Facilities are clean and tidy. Love this place!
C.
Get a room down the side street and the Cambridge is as quiet as any other hotel. The bed is comfortable, the staff is attentive, and everything is clean. On top of that, breakfast downstairs is only $3. This has become our regular place in Wellington for when we return!
G.
Rooms small and basic, but clean and good value. WiFi is only free one hour out of every 24, if you want more than that you have to pay. TV has all the channels the pub carries, so 3 sky sport, espn and two movie channels, along with 1, 2, and 3.
M.
Five of us booked a room for the Royal Blood gig,the staff were so helpful and friendly, the bunks were comfy, the bar is great. Thank you so much for a great stay. The concert was great too.
S.
Location is great and the hotel is kind of nostalgic..
Again, charging for wifi is just lame and not the right thing to do in 2018.
There is a bar downstairs in which you can grab food, play poker, a pint and watch sport channels..
The beds are heated.. Which was great!
P.
Fairly cheap hostel for a good location in the capital. However, no parking (and Wellington parking is a nightmare in which my wing mirror was clipped) , this coupled with an uncomfortable mattress and unwelcoming woman to check us in doesn't make me want to give a rave review
c.
Bar and food is good, hostel facilities nice but very anti-social and bar closed at about 10.30. doors are loud to close which made it annoying seen as every time of the day or night I went to the room one of my roommates was asleep.
J.
I arrived here looking for accommodation for 1 night and was very happy and surprised how nice this place is, @ $35 I got a lovely clean comfy bed and blankets in a 4 person dorm, lovely shared bathroom, awsum staff very helpful and polite. Then, I remembered.... This was the old shabby hotel I visited my uncle Clifford Tokona in, about 15 years ago and it wasn't as nice then, tiny cold rooms, wallpaper falling off, cracks omg the lift was very dodgy and it was dark and scarey. So, a huge bright experience for this place, wonderful improvements to. Only thing was our room was next to the bar so was a little noisy. Thanks staff.
T.
This was a return visit for myself and family. Plenty of things close by to do. Hotel amenities were all excellent in the room. All the employees of the hotel were very helpful and very friendly. The best value for your money. I would return to stay here in the future.
M.
Good accommodation for the price. Friendly and helpful staff. Needs some attention paid to general cleanliness in public areas. Very cool old hotel NZ style.
S.
Myself working in a 5star hotel in Wellington. The hotel was nice. The bed was comfortable.
The TV kept losing the sound. We had to keep turning it off and on.
M.
Unlike the most people reviewing this hostel like hotel I have to say I really liked it!
The rooms are spacious, the beds are standard, but comfy. Pricing is unbeatable: For a bunk bed in a four bed dorm only 26NZD.
The bathrooms looked very well furnished and recently updated with modern wall ceramics, nice water pressure and free soap dispenser.
There are two washing machines which east cst only 2NZD to be used. This is cheaper than most other hostels.
The stuff at the reception is professional and friendly. Checkin was easy and well explained.
Kitchen is normal sized, could be bigger but alright at the time I have seen it. Living just beside it with some tables and chairs.
Only the Wifi, which you have to pay for, was a bummer. To admit, the speed was fast. But non free wifi is these days, in the middle of a city, for a hostel just not explainable. If the accommodation is somewhere in the middle of nowhere where Internet is slow and hard to get, then yes. But in Wellington to ask for 10NZD for a 24hour connection is a bit inappropriate...
J.
Friendly people, beautiful decor within.
B.
The staff were really helpful, a really happy team of staff there. The rooms are dated and minor fixit jobs needed. Overall it was a really good experience. I would go back there when I am down in Wellington again
M.
Really nice reception staff. All rooms well equiped. Rooms big enough and clean. Bar downstairs. Nice backpackers accomodation. Free Wifi. Good value for the money you pay. Close walking distance to main tourist attractions.
R.
Absolute top pub!! Loved it!!
C.
From arrival to when we left helpful staff from front desk to the bar and restaurant and was clean clean clean
S.
Lovely breakfast, great staff.
G.
Great plsce to stay, well priced and the staff were friendly and very willing to help.
S.
Love the Cambridge. Great, proper pub. One of the best happy hours in Wellington too.
k.
The staff was friendly. But what's best is the location. The hotel is situated in the vicinity of many restaurants and bars. The rooms were a little old. But overall a pleasant experience staying here.
M.
They do a great quiz night on Wednesday nights. The food is okay, they have changed their menu quite a few times recently and although ordering the same thing each week what you actually receive will vary each time.
L.
Perfect for people who's looking for rest. Stayed one night there when I arrived to Wellington and I was grately surprised about the hotel like facilities. Common showers and bathrooms where above hostel level, and its a very quiet place
g.
Book through booking.com,,,room was gud,,bt bathroom was too short!! Not enough to stand for even 2 people at the same time!! Had payed 80nzd! And also the wifi wasn't free as they mentioned in booking, u have to pay after using one hour!!!!!
S.
Dormitory was quiet. Bathroom areas kept very clean. Pleasant stay.
m.
Beautiful old fashioned place to stay and lovely meals at a realistic price
F.
Stayed here a number of times. Rooms Clean and Tidy. Reasonably priced. Shared bathrooms can be a bit hit and miss. (Some fellow guests have left it a horrid state at times)
G.
Cheap. My room stank of mold, even after airing it out for two days. Staff are super friendly though. The "free WiFi" is for an hour a day and is really slow.
G.
At under $90 per night this hotel is outstanding value for money with a private double room, coffee making facilities, fridge and TV. Clean rooms and good service.
T.
Underrated I reckon! Good service, good prices - $1 wings on Thursday. It's not your 5-star or hipster joint, but for a good cheap local pub it's not half bad.
T.
Popped into the bar for a quick snack. Friendly staff, food was delicious and priced fairly.
C.
Got drunk and the food was beautiful
H.
Despite operating hours on lift it went all night which we could hear. Room clean and adequate. Close walking distance to Courtney place and buses
B.
Enjoyed our Lunch, so yummy and filling. Service was Great.
S.
Love the accommodation, easy relaxed central location.
Friendly staff great service.
L.
Good sports bar. Watched All Blacks game and great atmosphere with lots of TVs to see game.
C.
Great staff and good selection on the menu. Good quality pub food
T.
Last minute booking for a room with ensuite. I was a little nervous about what we would find, but great room, great service. Only setback was the TV didn't work properly! We will return!
C.
used to frequent here when i lived in wellington city in the late 00s, now a decade later things aint as good as they once where as even 7 years after moving to the hutt but nothing in the way of terrible. Other than all new bar-staff, more expensive drinks, and patrons i dont recognize from back in the day, its same ol' same ol' to what it was all those years ago.
L.
Just off Courtney place the Cambridge is a cool little pub with something to offer for everyone. Pokies, TAB a great food menu and friendly staff. The quiz and free BBQ on Wednesday are a must.
K.
Nice room + nice facilities cool 80's manual elevator decent price. Overall, fits into 3 stars.
N.
Very good sports bar. TVs all over with different games. Wednesdays there is a quiz night and free food (between 6 and 7pm) for patrons
A.
The building is quite old. The room is a bit dusty and the kitchen also a bit dirty. However the reception is very nice and helpful.
M.
Lovely old classic hotel. Single room with queen bed and ensuite all you can ask for.
Great staff. Would stay again.
J.
Great location, very clean and with friendly staff. Easy access to the bar, great food for family gathering and breakfast.
F.
Very friendly and approachable staff who couldn't do enough to help. Clean and spacious with working facilities. Pretty central location.
H.
It was ok. It was one of the cheapest places I found in Wellington, so can't really complain. It was quite central and it was comfortable, but it was not cozy (there was something off...).

Good location, super cheap and delicious breakfast, but beds are a bit terrible, bathrooms not in good condition (toilet paper not replaced, an inch of water on the floor of both showers), and bubbled surfaces on sink countertop in room looks shabby as hell.
